Hi everyone and welcome to another how to build tutorial. In this video I’m going to be showing you how to build a secret underground base in Minecraft. The entrance of this base is very hard to see from the outside, Making it a great base to use if you’re on a server and want to hide from people. Inside the base I’ve tried to include everything that you’d need in survival, so we have a bedroom with an enchanting and brewing area, A crafting room, a farming room with a mine entrance and a large storage room. I haven’t included a nether portal as it can be heard from the outside and people may also be able to link up to it or find your base through the nether, which we don’t want. I really hope that you enjoy this video. If you’re new here be sure to subscribe to see more content like this and hit the notification bell so that you never miss a new video. We’re going to start by building the secret entrance that will lead into the base. The way I’ve chosen to hide this entrance is by finding a spot in the side of a mountain that’s quite well covered. Somewhere that people probably wouldn’t choose to explore. The spot I’ve chosen already had a waterfall, but you can add your own if your spot doesn’t by Digging out a block in the mountain and placing a water source in there so it flows down. Once you have your spot and the waterfall in place, build up the area around and behind it slightly to make it look as natural as possible But leave a 2 block gap directly behind the waterfall so you can walk through it but it can’t be seen from the outside if someone were to run past it. If you don’t have a gap behind your waterfall like i do then you can just dig one out. This base can be built in any world, it doesn’t have to be exactly the same as mine. Make sure the gap can’t be seen from the outside, so cover up any holes like I’m doing but make sure it still looks natural. As you can see, it’s very hard to see the 2 block entrance from the outside and if someone was running past they probably wouldn’t look twice. Just make sure it looks natural from the outside. Very straight lines or blocks that Look like they have been placed there on purpose will give away the location of the base. Now, to make it even more secure we’re going to add a piston door inside the gap. To do this, come inside the gap and create another 2 block space that comes to the side, So it’s tucked in by a block and remove the next 2 blocks as well. To the left of this, remove 2 sets of 2 blocks. So you have this corner that goes in by 2 and to the left by 2. At the end of the side part, add two sticky pistons like this. Make sure they have a 2 block space in front of them. Now remove 4 blocks going back on the row before the pistons. Also remove the blocks behind the top piston and two behind those as well. It should look like this. Now, on that first block that we dug out, place a stone pressure plate. To the left of this, dig down and across to create a 3 block wide space in front of the pistons. Add 3 redstone dust coming across like this in The gap and this dust should now be powered when you step onto the pressure plate. Behind the first line of redstone, remove this block and also the one below followed by the next two behind and one at the end like this. After that, add a redstone torch on the block That the dust is on and then add more dust coming out from this and going up to the pistons. This dust should be powered, which is why it is glowing. When it gets to the pistons it will activate them, which is what we want. So, as a result of this, stepping on the pressure plate will turn off the redstone torch and deactivate the pistons like you can see here. Now head inside the gap and repeat this formation on the other side too. So remove the ground so it steps down to the other Side then create the two block gap that’s one lower than the first dust we placed. Add a redstone torch on this side too and then the last two pieces of redstone dust to join the two sides together. The dust on this side should also be Powered by the torch and is there so you can get back out of the base from the other side. Add a torch inside the gap so nothing can spawn and then carefully fill in the space with stone. Make sure you don’t cut any of the redstone off when you do this. If the pistons stop working after you’ve placed the blocks then you have probably cut off the redstone. Add two stone blocks in front of the pistons to create the door. Make sure that you’ve used stone all around to disguise the pressure plate. Finally, remove the next two blocks and add a pressure plate on the floor here too, so the door works from both sides. Remove any torches you placed in the Area before the door and now we can start work on the base. Head through the door and remove more blocks to create a short hallway. It’s safe to place a torch down in here. Once you’ve dug out a few blocks, dig down by one block and place 2 smooth stone slabs here. This will be where we will place a door later in the video. Now, after this first block, start making a staircase coming down using smooth stone slabs. Come down by 3 steps then turn to the Left and add another two steps. And keep repeating this to create a spiral staircase going down. We want each side to have 3 steps on it with a one block column in the middle. The exception is the first side, which will have 4 steps because of the door. When you are digging out the staircase, remove the blocks going up to the top until you start seeing the slabs from below. We want the whole spiral staircase to be visible from underneath. So, as you can see here I’m just Following this pattern of 3 steps on each side with the 1 block column in the middle. Make sure the steps go down by half a block each time so it’s smooth to run up and down. You’re going to want to go down quite far to have enough room to build the base below. I recommend digging down by at least 15 blocks to have enough room to build below. When you get to the bottom, dig out some space around the staircase so you can see what you’re doing better. This should be 5 blocks tall. When you’ve dug out some space, go back round the staircase and add an extra smooth stone Slab below any single slabs, so they are all full blocks from underneath to create the smooth transition from below as well. Now, to dig out the main room at the bottom of the staircase, come to the middle column and dig out 8 blocks across in total from it. Once you’ve marked out the 8th block, dig out all of the surrounding ground until the entire wall is pushed back to this point. Again, it should be 5 blocks tall. Repeat this on all 4 sides. So come to the middle column, count 8 blocks away From it and then push the entire wall back until it lines up with the 8th block. When the whole area is dug out, it should create a room that is 17 blocks across on each side, 5 blocks tall with the column in the middle of the staircase in the very centre of the room. Here’s what it should look like once it’s all been dug out. 5 blocks tall and 8 blocks away from the middle column on all sides. Once you’ve dug out the room, find the middle block of one of the wall sections by coming across from the column and then dig out a 5 by 5 area in the wall. So this is 2 blocks across on each side of the middle and up to the top. It should look like this. Now remove the blocks on either side of this to create a 7 block wide by 5 block high gap in the wall. This gap will mark out where the entrance to each of the rooms will go. On each side of the gap, add 5 oak logs to mark out the entrance. Now, to the side of this, in the corner, add 3 dark oak planks at the top and bottom with spruce planks in between. These should be set out by 1 block from the Oak logs that we placed, just like this. Now, from the last plank at the bottom, leave a one block diagonal gap then repeat this on the other wall. It should look like this. Fill in the gap in the corner with Any block you like then add a column of stripped dark oak logs to the diagonal gap that we left between the two sides. You should now have something that looks like this. Now repeat this in the next corner. So next to the oak log add 3 dark oak planks at the top and bottom with spruce planks in the middle. To make it easier you can mark out where the column will go first, fill in the corner, then add the next set of planks like I’m doing here. All of these corner sections are exactly the same so if you ever get stuck, just look back at what you’ve already built and copy it. As long as you got the measurements of the room correct when it was dug out, everything should line up. Now, onto the next side, come across from the centre column to find the middle block. Then dig out the 7 block wide by 5 block high area in the wall, the same as we did on the other side. I wanted a bit of variation between the walls, So for the logs on this side use stripped spruce logs instead of oak logs. Now repeat the same corner design that we did on the other side. Like I said earlier, all of the corners will be exactly the same. Now, for the next side, mark out the 7 by 5 block area in the middle of the wall again. Because I’m directly opposite the side that I used the oak logs on, I’m going to use oak logs here too. To create a bit of variation between the different sides of the base, I used two styles. The walls opposite each other will have the same style, which is why I’ve used oak logs here and for the next side I’ll be using stripped spruce logs again, the same as the side opposite that. Fill in the corner here in the same way that we’ve done the rest and then there’s just one more entry left to mark out. If you didn’t know already, I’ve started uploading short timelapses and tutorials to tiktok every day. So if you’re waiting for Me to upload a new video and want to see more content then head over to my tiktok where you can find a variety of small builds. The link is in the description if you’re interested. On the final side, dig out the 7 by 5 block area one last time. Like I mentioned earlier, because this side is opposite the side we used stripped spruce logs on, we will also be placing stripped spruce logs on either side here. Now that all of the corners and sides have been done, the room should look like this. We’re now going to work on the middle. Head over to the staircase and place a stripped spruce log one block diagonally away from the corner step, just like this. Do this on all four sides of the staircase. So a 1 block diagonal gap between the step and The stripped spruce log. If the step is too high up, like it is here, just count 2 diagonal blocks away from the central column. To check its in the right place, see if it lines up with the log next to it. If not you will have to move it. Add the final log and you should now have this square shape marked out around the staircase in the middle of the room. When you’ve got all four corners marked out, add another 4 stripped spruce logs On top of each of them, making them all 5 blocks high in total. This should create 4 stripped spruce columns that touch the ceiling. Now that everything’s marked out, remove one more layer from the ceiling, Making the room 6 blocks high in total. Make sure to follow the shape of the room that we now have, so you don’t have to remove the blocks directly above the corner planks but you should remove the blocks above the spruce columns in the centre. Once you’ve done that, we need to remove one more layer from the ceiling, but this time we will be leaving a 2 block border around the room, just like this. So on every part of the walls, count two blocks away then remove the blocks after this. This will also follow the shape of the room that we now have. Video Information
