Have just kept a bunch of redstone and a bunch of cobblestone and kept the super compactor but here’s here’s the thing right this is more important because this allows me to actually play the game but a super compactor allows the minions to do their own thing and have essentially

160 times the amount of storage the way that they work or in the case of the Redstone minions because they can combine from Redstone to Enchanted and Enchanted Enchanted blocks it would be whatever the square root of 160 is like 32 000 or something I don’t know I can’t do that math

In my head but um so basically we need seven stacks of Enchanted cobblestone for every single person a super compactor for those minions we don’t have that dungeon deaths I don’t actually know I haven’t gone into dungeons I I assume they don’t count see there’s a command that I can’t type

In right now to demonstrate it because I’m in the middle of this little mini game where you slash death count all one word and when you type that in it shows the number of times your character has died now because no one can really agree what

Does and doesn’t count as a death and it’s Hypixel server the way I look at it if it increases my death count it counted as a death and I think that’s completely Fair now the reason that I’m using that as well is let’s say I want the campfire badge

Well the campfire badge if you fail it you’d technically sort of die right well it doesn’t count for a death so I’m calling that fine can you co-op with us I could what do you mean I mean it’s it’s not a co-op character it never will be I’m not entirely sure

Technically yes if I die in a dungeon I died so here’s what I’m gonna do to sort of offset the fact that I don’t think that actually counts as a death because I don’t think it increments your death count because I think that’s kind of cheating

Here’s what I’m gonna do I’m never going to use any mods other than OptiFine because let’s all agree here that OptiFine doesn’t really count as a mod sorry it’s taking my slippers off here old man now I’ll Define doesn’t count as a mod okay OptiFine is basically the only

Modded thing that it lets me do is if I really wanted I can zoom in like that it doesn’t doesn’t matter um if anyone wants to test it go and die in a dungeon let me know see if it raises your death count so here’s what I’m gonna do no mods ever

And all of the dungeon content I will do completely solo 100 solo except for creating the dungeon because the game makes you have a party to do that I will never ever have another person help me kill anything in a dungeon full stop and just to add misery on top of company

I have to get the diamond head to move to the next floor so that means if I want to move from floor one to floor two I need a thousand floor one completions if I want to move from floor 6 to floor 7 I need a thousand floor 6 completions

See where I’m going with this now that also means that if I get to floor 7 and I can complete it once I can’t just go grind Master mode to get a whole bunch of catacomb levels I gotta do floor 7 and complete it a thousand times solo with no mods Tell me that’s not a nightmare anyway because I’m not actually sure if dungeons count as a death count death what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna wait until I’ve got the Saving Grace to really even worry about Dungeons now if you look at what a Saving Grace does

Under combat collections ender pearl the last one here also we’re 20 of the way for saving grace that was why I waited to tell you the percent on Saving Grace because I knew I’d bring this up 21.8 uh once I have a super compactor and even one of those minions it’ll go way

Faster though so a Saving Grace safely teleports you back to your private island when you are about to die this item will be consumed on use so until I have that I’m kind of just avoiding a lot of of uh dangerous content um I’ll give you an example the crystal

Hollows you could go in there and spawn right next to an automaton and just get lasered right into the goddamn ground that sounds like a terrible thing and I don’t want to do that you could be in there and a tribes member could give you a high five and

They high five really really hard and I don’t want to do that I have a question do you plan on beating floor seven on your yes I fully intend on getting a necron blade on this character fully scrolled by the end of this was lava Springs right yep okay this guy

Is mining that uh you know what I’ll go up here I don’t wanna bother these fellows uh why not mud so the entire purpose of playing a hardcore Iron Man is to make it harder the entire purpose of mods is to make it easier that sounds kind of counterintuitive intuitive doesn’t it Yuval Let’s bring out the rock pet So we need nine more titanium in this location I’ve got a fairly high level of titanium and Stadium or up to Heart of the mountain four so I actually also have efficient minor so I can break a couple at a time sometimes if I’m lucky and this shouldn’t take too long to

Knock out four commissions mithril Golem might be a good goal but uh it’s not exactly going to be a soon goal or eight we’re barely ten percent of the way so Slayers are a bit of a gray area for me I will make every reasonable effort

That I can to not have people helping me with slayers but I understand how this community works I know that people will kill my Slayer bosses to try and steal combat XP for me so here’s the way I look at it I won’t ask anyone to help me with Slayers I

Won’t look for people in the CH I won’t be like hey Chad who’s gonna kill Sven for me no none of that BS if I can manage to do Slayer solo great if not it is what it is now I’ve been told that there’s a boss called kudra and that somebody has successfully

Killed it solo so if we get that far I will make an effort to solo kudra I’ve never fought kudra I kind of stopped playing around the time the Crimson area came out but if we get that far into the game I’ll continue to try and solo as much as

I can so it’s kind of a combination of taking the least amount of help from others that I can possibly take not using any mods because I didn’t make the mods mods just make the game easier I want the game harder and not letting myself die even once that’s pretty much the character

So enjoy Oh how do I plan on beating floor 7 on my own that’s a valid question uh you ever you ever seen those videos where somebody punches a board and instead of their hand going through the board they break their hand That’s what I expect floor 7 to be like when I try to solo it because you have to remember I haven’t done a huge amount of dungeons I have done floor 7 before but I haven’t done a huge amount of dungeons to the point where I don’t have the secrets memorized

I don’t know what I need to do so like floor one we’re gonna be looking at like 20 minute runs to just to like learn and and plod through the secrets because not only am I not using mods this is more of a personal choice because I think it’ll

Be more fun I’m not gonna watch a whole bunch of videos on how to find secrets now if we get to a point where there’s a room where I just don’t know where the hell it is and somebody in the chat tells me where a secret is that’s fine

But I’m not going to look and seek out a whole bunch of guides and how do I do this and how do I do that I’m just playing the game as if it was a solo very difficult experience where I would delete the character like a what’s a roguelike basically it’s Hypixel

Didn’t realize that was going to be that close um there’s a super whoa protector on somewhere murder lover will possibly two-shot me here so I got to be very careful and I’ve gotten my one kill okay if I can hit that protectron without getting wrecked by murder lover I think I hit him

Okay we’re all set now this is a problem So there we go 11 kills from the protectron what’s it at twenty eight thousand so yeah I I genuinely just risked a lot doing that so we’re oh I must have hit two protectrons nice uh you know what I’m I’m walking away that’s all I needed to do 21 is good enough I am going to take the long way back to the um area that I need to be in but that’s fine without a witherblade I doubt you can do it well see I’m not even worried about the pillars phase or any of that stuff what I’m worried about

Is actually the panels and stuff no it’s 25 to get the maximum amount of rewards but my commission is simply to participate in a Goblin Raid which I think means I only need one kill I’m not honestly sure we’re gonna find out I guess but that’ll be the second commission

Dungeons I use things like secret auras they use other kind of content like that just not interesting so we’re just gonna full solo full send call it good for the third time Discord link is in the description if you want it I haven’t bothered to fix my bots so nightbot used

To have the Discord link and it doesn’t now because I don’t know why nightbot died but nightbot stopped working in my stream a while ago and I haven’t fixed it so um it’s red links in the Discord links in the description oh there isn’t a whole lot that nightbot

Was doing for me I mean it’s it’s easy to fix I just have to go in like log in and probably re-authenticate it or something but I just it’s fine it’s whatever I mean you can still Coop you can still do all the things that were through stream elements

No I fully agree with that Kyle I wouldn’t either the thing of it is I am using this as a bit of a test to see if I even want to make content for Hypixel Skyblock because I kind of decided that I don’t and the community is the main reason

That I don’t because no matter what I’ve done no matter what kind of content I’ve done it’s just been like a constant Battle of trying to stay patient enough to deal with the community so this is a character that basically is just solo screw him we tried playing a normal

Character we’ve tried playing a normal iron man tried an eight-man Co-op and all of it just didn’t hold my interest long enough so here we are Now if I’m really ridiculously lucky which I generally am not when it comes to these commissions maybe I’ll get titanium minor in the lava Springs or even just general titanium minor as my fourth Commission of the day we’ll see either way this character is just going to be an absolute ridiculous

Grind to get to where it needs to be to start being able to do content like Dungeons like this is only heart of the mountain for I’m gonna need heart of the Mountain Seven to be able to grind the powder to be able to uh Why is Nyan Cat boy watching me weird to be able to get the the powder to be able to make money from mining farming I still need three oh that’s Roman okay well I got the got the numbers wrong never mind Um I still need the half for two-thirds or so of the melons to be able to make the melon armor to start farming crappies to get my crappy armor to make uh make that kind of reasonably decent content money-wise um what else we got is the foraging update ever going to

Come out like are they actually going to release that piece of content or are they just kind of teasing it because to be honest I don’t believe it’s ever actually coming but at the same time I’d like it to The reason I say that is their original plan was to put the foraging update before the crimson and had said that the Crimson update would maybe make it their buy 1.0 it would probably be the first update of 1.0 and then the next God damned update after that announcement

Was the Crimson so I just never know what’s happening uh the rift is going to be the next update okay well they said the foraging update was the next update they showed pictures of the foraging Island if it doesn’t come before the rift or during the rift update I’m going

What I really need is minion upgrades and the only way I’m gonna get minion upgrades is by getting an absolute crap ton of cobblestone and the easiest way for me to get a crap ton of cobblestone you know lowest effort anyway is going to be to set up a

Cobblestone minion with a super compactor and then just log in like once in a while and grab the Cobblestone from them and eventually that’ll upgrade another Minion to having a super compactor and etc etc now the Redstone Minions that I’ve got right now because they work with compactors not super compactors but

Normal compactors have been able to generate a fair bit of redstone to a point where I almost can craft a second tier one um tier one personal compactor or I could just wait until I’ve got the couple like I wouldn’t even be able to do that I would still need the super

Compactor for the base item for it but or I could excuse me try and just use them to get I just I don’t know what I’m doing okay that’s the problem I I’m probably just going to leave them grinding Redstone for a while until I’ve got the upgrade

For my my uh personal compactor instead of crafting a second one right now all the while hopefully grinding enough to oh Jesus we’re only halfway there grinding enough to um get uh super compactors on the Cobblestone minions because if I can do that then I can at least AFK more Super

Compactors and you know it’s at least something that I don’t have to manually grind out but realistically Chad who wants to do some math we need 30 super compactors each super compactor takes seven full stacks of 64 Enchanted cobblestone how much Enchanted Cobblestone is that

Because it levels it up faster so we get another glacite Jewel I’ve apparently got 13 magic fight more than I would have expected but not good but not bad yeah I was going to say if you’ve got that much defense you probably have a lot more HP missed Sixty percent almost there [Applause] So Chad how many of these people do you think are doing a commission and how many of these people do you think are just killing ice walkers for some other reason maybe they think it’s worth money if you think it’s actually good combat XP when Slayers are just objectively better

Makes three mil an hour at like I just made my profile tier and that it scales up pretty damn quickly to make around up to 15 16 18 million an hour so what they’re doing is completely pointless why do I have a stack of blaze powder I guess I never put that back

Hmm and I just realized I still have yeah also you say optimal magic find I saw Zero people using a Daedalus ax so just putting it out there and while I know you can one shot them with a pickaxe if you get enough damage you can definitely one shot them with

Daedalus X all right not a datal sack sorry a glaci jewel they’re 30k okay so my my main point is glazeight armor is not going to be that expensive it might be like 20 30 40 50k a piece right call it 50k piece that’s a 1 in 400 drop

You’re not going to get an anywhere as near as much of that as you are um As You Are glasight jewels so I don’t know it just it I can’t figure it out I can’t really understand why anyone would do it because to make six mil an hour if

You’re actually right about that you know how much they would have to actually get so 120k right now it’s okay so at 100k you will not get 60 glazeight Jewels now where you flat out will not with the spawn rate of them it’s just not gonna happen even if you killed every single

One of them at maximum magic find it wouldn’t happen just full stop like that’s that’s not even a question which leads me to believe that it’s probably closer to about a mill to two mil an hour which means that quite literally day one you could go and just Farm in the garden

Update and make more money than that with less gear less time investment less everything holding down two buttons and waiting until the money happens occasionally getting a boost if there’s a farming contest and you place in it yeah it’s your Island there’s no competition there’s consistency you’re

Not gonna just have your money drop to a quarter if a bunch of other people show up and that’s what I had suggested it being at about two we’ll call it two Mill an hour because there’s going to be occasional Wayside armor drops and stuff even if it’s two mil an hour

There’s also three other people competing for the kills there so assuming the even distribution you’re making 500k an hour that’s useless maybe they’re killing them for the beastiary that could make sense Although I I doubt it but it could make sense I’ll give you that one that’s the most sensible reason that anyone’s given me so far for why a bunch of higher geared players wearing things like Superior Dragon would be killing ice walkers because like if you’re gonna kill them for the B

Series anyway you might as well have high magic find right damn we gotta Goblin Raid where is it Ramparts Corey well I’m gonna just run over here shoot a couple goblins at least participate and see if I can get some rewards from it might as well we’ve got 2x mithril powder collector as my other commission right now so not a lot to do let’s see any protectrons visible

New oh yep right there and I swear I hit that but apparently I didn’t these goblins are protected I don’t I don’t see any there are no visible protectrons but it’s saying that they are oh no I did get the kill for that one nice I guess

Them every round they appear every 10 seconds with 200 magic Vine you wouldn’t make 50 Jewels an hour how are you coming up with that math what is the drop rate on Jules It’s a one percent drop rate so a three percent drop rate killing eight of them every 10 so I’ll do the math on this one for you So we got eight times six assuming that you killed them exactly when they spawned and they spawned over and over again you’d get 48 per minute which would be 2880 per hour at a three percent uh drop rate would be but it wouldn’t be a three percent drop

Rate would it how does my math come out higher than yours okay so less than that so 43. so yeah no that I don’t see anyone actually doing that and I’m fairly certain that’s not how magic find actually works but I’m gonna say that that’s gonna average to about

Half of that in actual practice so also realistically most people don’t bother with the ones that are up above sometimes they kill the one on the bridge if it’s convenient so you’re looking at more likely about five and a half per cycle which brings that number down to maybe 30 an hour

And that’s assuming 200 magic fine so is that even a plausible thing to get can you actually get 200 magic find without like incredible investment Thank you I didn’t ask if there were people with 300 magic find I said can you get 200 magic find without an incredible investment because we’re talking about people trying to make like five mil an hour or less they wouldn’t bother with that if they had things like mining or farming foreign It was quite a while ago when I was grinding Netherwood I hadn’t even started my main Iron Man profile yet so okay so a more reasonable amount of magic find for somebody in that position is going to be between 100 and 150 and they’re going to be killing an average

Of about five per cycle with probably at least a couple of seconds of leeway because they’re not going to kill them instantly so you’re more realistically looking at about a 13 second cycle with five kills per cycle which comes out probably closer with 100 magic find which

But uh the problem I have with high pixel Skyblock welcome back tricks is that I’ve played a lot of this server and it’s continuously gotten worse and worse and worse and I don’t just mean the actual content and gameplay I mean the viewership has gone down the amount of

People searching for it is just steadily declined the community’s gotten gradually worse cobblestone generator on your island is worse for a lot of different reasons and I get asked that a lot but let’s talk about that for a minute first reason that a cobblestone generator is bad instead of doing it on

The Dwarven mines is that every time that you mine the top layer you can’t have this happen but when you mine the second layer there’s the potential for a golden goblin to spawn every golden goblin gives you 200 mithril powder which might seem trivial later on but at the start it’s actually

A decent little chunk so it’s kind of a why wouldn’t you moment but more than that a cobblestone generator on your Island does not increment uh let me see if I can find it where is it skills Maybe yeah it does not increment this number

Right here at all but you see them at 55 486 I’m assuming this updates in real time but I’m not actually sure 55 487 so the bottom one of these Cobblestone blocks actually increments the amount of ores that you mine to try and get the higher tier Rock pets does not

And even if it does this is just better for other reasons as well yeah it does Roman honestly I don’t think it’s the pandemic I think the server was genuinely in a more inviting and beginner-friendly place like two years ago I think a bigger Factor was technoblade used to play This Server

And there used to be things like lore about him and Squid kid God damn it this thing really is being a pain in my ass oh good it despawned what the [ __ ] I’ve never seen a golden goblin despawn in my life I blame lava dragon anyway when

Technoblade was still a alive and B playing the server there was Laura around him and Squid kid having some kind of like potato farming war and there was like the Dante event but certain things got left broken in the server for months at a time like the fact that backpacks were inaccessible

For over 45 days and when people got back into their backpacks and because backpacks were such a big thing everyone used them it’s where everyone kept their tools their most important and expensive items Etc it basically locked the vast majority of the community out of their equipment for

45 plus days like it was around 48 I can’t remember the exact number and then a lot of them when they went to go and get their stuff out of the backpacks when they supposedly fixed it found that as a matter of fact [ __ ] got wiped So a lot of them quit that got rid of a lot of the long-term players right there the whole Dante event happened during that and that was a massive content drought that was happening because the backpack things but then on top of that Dante removed all the other events it

Removed uh traveling zoos which crippled basically only Iron Men but still it sucked uh it removed the Halloween event it removed the season of the Jerry you know it removed um there was something else that removed but I can’t remember what it was and it did this during a time that

People were starved for content and couldn’t do anything anyway because they had to go and make new tools and it basically just killed the server and I don’t feel that it ever really recovered from the Dante mismanagement Um but after that you’ve also got things like there’s multiple items in the foraging collection that are just coming soon and they’ve been coming soon for years they’ve been coming soon since the start of Sky pixel High block here and I don’t think they’re coming soon they’ve multiple times said that the

Foraging update is the next update and then done something totally different at one point the road map had said foraging updates next and that the Crimson Island update will maybe make it out for 1.0 and the literal next update was the Crimson Island lately they said that the foraging

Update is next and here’s a bunch of screenshots of it now apparently some kind of Abyss or something what’s the what’s the name of the update that’s probably going to be a flop that’s coming out next how could anyone forget the coming soon that’s coming soon for anyone uninitiated let me just take

Collection lately did one of the coming soons that was coming soon turn into the melon harmer by the way you want to see just an insulting reward 50 farming XP 125 farming XP 5000 farming XP what that might as well just not even have existed you know what I mean I feel like that might be the case I skater because I thought I remember there being coming soon is coming soon in there but I couldn’t seem to find them maybe they came and went I must have missed them complained about the server I’m still here playing it and I’m not really sure

Why the problem is so a lot of different companies across a lot of different niches YouTube and in and of itself included or things like twitch don’t make themselves better because there’s not enough competition to actually threaten their their market share so looking at Hypixel Skyblock what’s its competitor

Realistically if you had to say what is the competitor to the server so Roman I’ll touch on that one in just a second with my my classic brand of pessimism but the only server that I can find that’s even relatively similar to this one is uh [ __ ] what’s it called uh windcraft

And windcraft I think it has a player cap of like 3000 or maybe five thousand I can’t remember but when you think about it that way it’s not really a competitor is it I’ve seen this server here with over a hundred thousand people online not in

The last two years but I have seen it windcraft is Tiny in comparison to that It’s not it was that time that everyone tried logging into windcraft because swivey tried logging into windcraft when Skyblock was down for two days I don’t know what it is now they have like an actual literal hard cap though like if it hits that cap then

You have to wait to log in like you end up in a login queue that’s what I meant I don’t mean it literally caps out at 4 000 people all the time I mean that’s the maximum that it will allow logged in at one time so I mean

Laggy that situation was where he had to fight it with the staff of the Rising Sun that was a literal goddamn nightmare I was getting less than one frame per second during that fight now I realized that that was like a server event that was rushed and maybe

They’ve spent a little more time on this one but I have very low expectations based on their track record So I just I don’t see any real content there I want there to be content there but I just don’t see it and I do remember Skyblock aisles and I remember it being a flop within a week because they managed to screw literally everything up with it but what do you do I I don’t even know a single person that

Plays Skyblock aisles at this point I forgot that it existed until you brought it up escaper um Skyblock turning 1.19 I think it’s the right decision but I also again based on their track record don’t really trust that they’re going to be able to do it

I think it’s the wrong choice to make the foraging Islands 1.19 specifically and I think if they’re going to do it they should just do the entire server and just call it a day what is Skyblock aisle so a while back Hypixel decided that it would be a great

Idea to give everyone their own how do I explain this it was kind of like you had your own Minecraft server that was hosted through Hypixel if you were MVP plus plus rank then you could apply for one and they would set you up with one it had a maximum player count

Of like eight or ten or something maybe it was five I can’t remember And it didn’t work because they tried to impose some weird rules on it they didn’t give you correct moderation tools they didn’t give anyone the ability to mod it that you couldn’t do anything with it it was horrendously laggy um it was kind of fun for about three days and then

Like on a real server you can take a backup you can roll it back you can kick people you can wait and Blacklist people so that if somebody is griefing you can just prevent them from griefing or you can set up an area where nobody can place blocks or nobody can blow up

Blocks you can set permissions to own certain areas you could do none of that on Skyblock aisles So eventually somebody just dropped like 150 TNT in the spawn area and it was just all blown up and everything everyone had built was gone and there was no way to get it back

So it confirmed to me that there was no sense in investing any time in it because all it would end up having is somebody griefing the ever-loving [ __ ] out of it it’s an interesting question here what makes an RPG interesting how does one make a game similar to Skyblock in Vibe

I’m not really sure what you mean by that yes I’m really slow no worries it’s fine I’m happy to field the question as best as I can as somebody with over 20 years of experience playing role-playing games massively multiplayer online role-playing games hell even a couple of multi-user dungeons way back when

You have to do something that is rewarding to the player if I’m going to invest my most valuable resource into your content which is time you have to give me something for that time that’s worth it you have to give me an experience that’s enjoyable obviously but you have to give me an

Experience that’s valuable now I’ll give you an example of that if you ever played Eve online or World of Warcraft or any MMO that’s been up for like 15 plus years the value that you have in that is actually pretty much sunk cost fallacy because you know that that will be there

You know that if you spend 10 hours in it today and you stop playing for six months you can go back and you’ll just be able to start right back where you were or at least have the stuff that you grinded and that you earned and that you

Achieved for the most part I mean you know balance updates happen here and there but that’s just what it is the world will still be there when you get back and that’s the main benefit of an MMO but when it comes to an RPG for single player RPGs usually it’s investing in a

Story that you can either relate to or that you can appreciate or that you are interested or invested in um I’ll use the example of Final Fantasy VII because at least most people at this point have played that game and I feel that I’m not going to be spoiling

Anything from a game that’s from 1998. 97 whenever that came out but in that game you start out and it doesn’t give you very much Direction you’re some sort of a terrorist in the Avalanche group you’re like an eco-terrorist you’re you’re bombing a power plant and that’s about as much as

It tells you but then you kind of fall through the roof of this church and you meet Eris or aerith depending on which translation you’re playing and the whole game kind of changes because you realize that maybe you’re the good guy maybe you’re the bad guy maybe there’s a lot more to this

And it starts expanding the world it starts sort of showing you midgar and showing you the rich versus poor dichotomy that it has it shows you why your character was doing what they’re doing and then you have to piece together all of the rest for it

By the end of it you find out that your character is actually just a kind of a lab experiment that took on the memories of their friend when their friend died and you aren’t even really you or you know there’s there’s Side Stories like nanaki

Or red 13 who’s the last of his kind and it lives Everyone by the end of the game the post-credits scene is him with Cubs which doesn’t make any sense because he was the last of his kind I guess he’d Spirit a rock or something I don’t really know That part always kind of bugged me because if he’s the last of his kind daddy have Cubs but whatever it’s like 500 years later and he’s just running around with kids uh meteor destroyed midgar it’s all overgrown and stuff you get so invested in good writing like

That in a single player RPG because that’s all that it really has that’s what it has to have in the case of this server and I’ll get to your question in just a second IDK this is more there are different styles of MMORPGs and the style that this one

Emulates is something that’s usually called a Korean grinder and I’ll touch on that in a second need help I really regret and kind of feel guilty about something how do I feel less guilt well that’s way too nuanced question and not really something that I can help you with

I would say to try and make amends for whatever it is that you’ve done wrong and be honest with whoever you’ve hurt anyway so a Korean grinder MMO is an MMORPG where the entire purpose is to basically just make your numbers go up you do the same content day in day out

With very little changing for tens of hours a day for six to eight months maybe 12 months three years whatever uh arcade Black Desert um aeon for those that used to play that things like that are a Korean grinder MapleStory was a Korean grinder MMORPG back when it used to be good

I have no idea what MapleStory is like now it’s to the point that they even had to do a reboot server and I’ve heard that even that’s gone to [ __ ] but that was a game where years in nobody had hit the the level cap and I still remember tiger was one of

The people that was trying to grind for the level cap in that game and he was uh I forget what the cleric’s name was that used to play with him a lot I actually used to talk to them now and then but um doesn’t matter that’s a Korean grinder that’s basically

What this is and what you get out of a Korean grinder and what sort of value it provides to the player back then was basically a chat room with a repetitive task to do so that you could show how high you got your number that’s it that was that was the whole

Point of MapleStory that was the whole point of that type of MMO it was four facilitating social interactions at a time when not everyone had a cell phone not everyone was all interconnected on MySpace and eventually Facebook and eventually read it it was the place that you went to be

Social and that’s why social things in MMOs like this have pretty much died because we have other options here in the case of Skyblock a lot of the things that would add value to it don’t work like let’s talk about some of that a lot of people value combat in this game well

They did something that was called the strength Nerf quite a while ago and the way that it used to work is the amount of strength your character had would be added to your weapon damage so like this weapon has 50 damage but if I had a thousand strength then it would be

50 damage plus I think it was 0.2 weapon damage per 10 strength or something like that I forget what the exact formula was but it was a none negligible number right well because strength mattered because strength would actually add weapon damage it meant that things like foraging which gives you a very small

Amount of strength but an amount of strength per level was actually valuable to a newer player because you could do foraging and get a little bit more damage you could get a couple hundred damage if you’ve got like level 20 foraging whereas now it just gives you a

Very tiny percent boost to your overall damage when they did the strength there of people that were doing content that required them to do an incredible amount of damage because it was essentially a race to kill the enemy before it despawned I’m talking about high-end Slayer here

A lot of them just got completely pushed out of being able to complete the content within the time frame their gameplay might be good enough that they can survive the entire spawn time of a of a Slayer boss for something like at the time the high tier enderslayer but

They just didn’t have enough damage anymore so because they didn’t have enough damage anymore they had to result to bug abuse and what I mean by bug abuse was weapon swapping so you could triple swap weapons at one point where you would I don’t want to get into the specifics of

It because I’m probably going to be wrong about it but basically you could stack the damage of a giant sword and have it like multiply against the damage of another weapon and there are ways to do it with a third weapon I think using the voodoo doll or

Whatever it is that thing that shoots out like eight arrows at a time and it got so goddamn broken that people using that method and multiplicable multiplicative sorry damage bonuses we’re able to hit the damage cap which with a 32-bit integer is 2.1 billion and change

So once you hit 2.1 billion one of two things happens either you get the Final Fantasy VII method which you get integer underflow which hits for a negative damage number and confuses the [ __ ] out of the game that’s how you see people who have killed I think it’s like 40

Plus thousand enemies with that weapon of vincence that makes it stronger per enemy you kill if you kill enough enemies with it then it actually overflows the damage number and you can start doing things like one-shotting every boss in the game with it and breaking the game But what Hypixel did was they hard capped the damage which was the smarter thing to do but with people hitting 2.1 billion damage every hit I mean if that’s the most damage you can ever do and people are doing it then the game is played out so they had to change weapon swapping

And when they had to change weapon swapping they also completely broke bones remember Spirit bones were a thing in dungeons yeah they’re not anymore the reason they’re not anymore is if you attacked with a spirit bone and then switch to the next Spirit bone because people would have like six of them on

Their inventory bar or their their uh their hot bars if you attack with a spirit bone and then you switch to another one it I think it doesn’t do damage with the returning shot which before would do like double or triple damage or whatever because it’s a bone meringue or whatever

Um it also Nerfs your damage heavily when you attack with a weapon and then switch to another weapon quickly so it completely invalidated that content so so far we’ve got people that were doing a lot of damage no longer can do damage so to compensate for that they have to abuse bugs

Those bugs are not dealt with for a long period of time so the people that are abusing those bugs are able to be the only ones capable of doing high-end content because no one else can actually kill the enemies in time and then that bug got fixed so the

Hypixel had to rebalance some things and add in some more items to create a bunch more power creep which if you think back to my original example of an MMO like this gives you value by you earning things over time and your numbers going up over time and what you

Have remaining yours and what you’ve earned having value that devalues everything they can randomly basically turn your damage off with a single update they can cause the meta to be that you have to bug abuse to keep up they can patch that bug abuse and say that it was

Not good in the first place so and it really wasn’t so they remove it and then they just give you your damage numbers back by changing some more values all of that leads to a character that doesn’t feel like anything that they’ve done has actual value in the game

Everything that you’ve earned just can be taken away or mitigated at a moment’s notice by foolish development and that’s why hypixel’s Skyblock server kind of doesn’t really work the way that it should at least Now I mean there’s other examples I can give but I think that’s pretty concise right So Philip I’m going to talk about the economy for a minute and I think that’s if you’re trying to emulate this type of server that’s the part that they have dropped the ball the hardest on that’s unfortunate so the economy when I started playing this server The Meta was

You would Farm netherwort to make your money use that money to buy the cash shop currency which was cookies oh hey nice we actually got enough and then use those cookies to kind of forward your character The problem is that was creating runaway inflation the reason it was creating runaway inflation is because you could essentially print money you would hold down two two buttons generate another word vendor the netherwort and that would give you coins but that allows people to macro the ever-loving [ __ ] in another word and the

People that were macroing weren’t punished there were a lot of instances where people would macro netherwort and instead of them wiping the profile completely they would delete the profile but they wouldn’t wipe the coins generated by the profile they would give them a 30-day ban but they wouldn’t actually remove the

Resources that they illegitimately gained you see where the problem is so that meant that people could just make a shitload of accounts and just nuke another word all day and not ever be punished for it in the sense that they would just have a 30-day window

Between when they did it and when they could actually cash out their items now that was a problem and Skyblock uh Hypixel story actually did acknowledge that that was a problem by nerfing the value of netherwort from three to two at the vendor but that’s like saying oh you have a

Gunshot wound instead of doing nothing I’ll put a little like dinosaur Band-Aid on it maybe that’ll help it didn’t and you know why it didn’t because it didn’t stem the blood loss it didn’t stem the problem it didn’t fix anything it slowed it down the literal next update was the crystal

Hollows after the netherwort Nerf the crystal Hollows was put into the game with so little actual forethought that the the money per hour for Mining and vendoring coin uh mendering vendoring gemstones was a hundred and sixty million coins an hour while uh certain mirrors were active and was 80 million an hour all

The rest of the time um now if that’s not broken I don’t know what is considering the fact that uh netherwort was causing runaway inflation with only maybe four mil an hour somewhere in that area so the result to that was they ended up nerfing the vendor value of gemstones

From eight to four and then from four to three and then giving up thank you so my main takeaway here is that if you don’t want to fall into the worst situations that Hypixel has fallen into as far as breaking their own game and making it less fun for people

Control the way that coins come into your server my opinion is that if they ever actually did a wipe for 1.0 or did a fresh start for 1.0 that’s the biggest thing that’s going to hurt this server is the fact that you can just print money out of thin air

What I think they should do is have monsters drop coins nothing at all resource-wise vendorable except for maybe armor and weapon pieces and even at that I don’t think they should be you could have them tradable to an NPC that breaks them down and you use the broken down armor pieces to upgrade

Armor or something like that or have like a secondary currency but as long as resources are being vendored for coins those resources don’t have a purpose like I’ll give you an example I recently looted about 400 million coins on my main profile of melons the bazaar buys them at lower than

Vendor price because they’re basically useless they have uses but there’s so many of them in the server that there’s not enough use to remove enough of them so people buy them at lower than vendor value and then just sell them to NPCs to get them out of the server and convert

Okay or 31 of these because I clicked the wrong thing there we go no so the garden update there’s a lot of misconceptions about this because of people that don’t really understand I don’t know how to say this without just insulting the entire community so I’m just going to power through it

The people that think that the garden update is a better Money Maker than the mining update or is the cause of any kind of like real long-term lasting inflation are the kind of people that you can entertain by jingling your keys in front of them and making baby noises let me explain

The crystal Hollows to be able to make good money in the crystal Hollows you do need to have a lot of invested time The first thing that you need to do is get heart of the Mountain Seven which does take a lot of time either you’re gonna have to just do your four daily commissions every day for like two months probably if you’re just doing it that way or

You’re gonna have to go in there and start grinding out nucleus runs and commissions in the crystal Hollows which are 400 x be a piece for the commissions and 800 for the nucleus runs now once you’ve got heart of the Mountain Seven you have access to this perk powder buff

At level 50 this gives you fifty percent more mithril and gemstone powder from all sources this works multiplicatively with the two times powder event essentially meaning that without this and without the two times powder event if you open a chest and get a thousand powder that’s fine if you have a two

Times powder event you get two thousand powder if you have this buff at level 50 during a two times powder event you get three thousand powder because this makes that 1000 go from one thousand to fifteen hundred and then multiplicatively remember fifteen hundred times two is three thousand

So without this at level 40 to 50 or so you’re kind of just gonna be grinding for a lot goddamn longer and besides that you’re gonna want level seven anyway for the extra mining speed and Mining Fortune perks so realistically you’re looking at getting level seven grinding for maybe 50 to 100

Hours and then you can make about 20 million coins an hour and continue to make more and more and more as time goes on and as you increase your gear and your levels and all that kind of stuff now let’s talk about farming farming is good don’t get me wrong it’s

It’s solid money it’s uh it’s a really good money maker but the problem with it is if you just start a new character brand new profile you can make three mil an hour here what do I buy for mining if I already heard the Mountainside if you have

Already got uh heart of the Mountain Seven then with 130 mil I would probably use full glazeight sorry not full glacight full um yog or hypothetically I don’t know what the price of it is anymore full uh stuff that ghosts drop I can’t think of

The name of that armor right off the top of my head for your armor set and I would use a gemstone Gauntlet now the reason I say that I would only use that tier of stuff is that you’re going to want to get the maximum tier of topaz

Gem in every socket that you can get topaz Soro thank you you want perfect topaz in your your mining tool you want perfect topaz in your armor and each one of those is I believe 8 million coins and you’re going to be using like five of them

Once you’ve got those you’re going to want to put perfect uh Jades and everything else and once you’ve got those then you could probably get away with flawless ambers and the rest of the slots you’re also going to want to decide whether you want to use an armadillo or

A ball pet that’s going to kind of depend on how much powder you’ve got if you have less than five maybe six million gemstone powder you would probably find that it’s gonna work out better to invest all of your points in the mining fortune and ride in armadillo

If you have at least five six million gemstone powder or higher then at that point you would want to use the ball pet and I mean it really depends on how much powder you’ve got thank you now all of that does require some thought it requires a little bit more

Effort it requires an amount of it’s it’s it’s not just a hold down two buttons and go kind of a circumstance you see what I mean farming on the other hand is literally to hold down two buttons and go three if you’re doing melons I already did make my own server

You’re way late on that one Lumen you’re like a year plus late on that one what are you talking about yeah so the reason that um perfect topaz are so important is that the way that pristine works is a little bit complicated but basically the higher your pristine is the higher of a

Chance it has to activate and the more times that it can activate per gemstone break so if you have the highest amount of pristine that you can reasonably get which I think is like 16 point something I don’t know if that’s changed now I don’t think it has

Then when you break a gemstone you can get up to five pristine procs one proc of pristine gives you 80 times the amount of gemstones that the base gemstone is so it upgrades the tier of gemstone essentially so if you have no fortune and you mine a gemstone you get one uh I

Think it’s rough whatever the lowest tier of gemstone is let’s say you mine a ruby you get a rough Ruby if pristine happens it upgrades that rough Ruby to whatever the next Rubio 18.6 I had it backwards sorry it upgrades that Ruby to the next tier of Ruby but

Then your fortune rolls it so if you have 2000 mining Fortune which is attainable and you happen to hit a pristine proc then it upgrades it to the higher tier which is essentially 80 of the lower tier and then multiplies that by 21. and if you have high enough pristine

That can happen up to five times per gemstone that you break so essentially pristine and Fortune work in a multiplicative fashion if you don’t have really high fortune and really high pristine then you’re not gonna make good money thank you now let’s compare that to farming you start farming

You need a personal compactor to be reasonable ideally you would want to have a tier 2 personal compactor so you can you know deal with wheat and seeds at the same time and I mean even an iron hole with efficiency 5 on it will work just to start with

And you can make two to three mil an hour I mean I found mining more interesting because there was a lot more to it what you’re looking at right now is Peak farming you’re just holding down two buttons and waiting until money happens well Pop Tart when you used to play you

Could make more than double the amount that you’ll be able to make now but the benefit is you were able to grind it while powder was dropping at three times the rate bastard [Laughter] so you you managed to do that 100 hour grind in 30 hours Yeah before a lot of people claim that I’ve yet to see a single person show a full unedited video of an hour of Mining and actually show that they were able to make that I’m not saying that you definitely can’t but there’s factors that play into it

The reason that I call it 30 million an hour is that’s what you can actually reasonably and factually make in an hour of mining because you have to keep in mind you’re just talking about the time that you’re making the money you still have to Lobby

Hop until you find a good day one lobby you still have to find an area you still have to make that area into a mining area the first pass of that mining area is going to be garbage um you still have to deal with people griefing you you still have to deal with

Lobby closes there’s an amount of time that you’re investing that you’re not factoring into that number so I want to see somebody start a timer go into the crystal Hollows and stop that timer at one hour and see how much money they’ve got nobody’s done it nobody’s shown more

Than 30 million an hour that has attempted it so I’m going to continue to call it 30 million an hour I will admit the the visitor thing is at least something new I’ll give you that one there’s a little bit more content to farming now than when I first started farming in 2021 but it’s not that much it’s still a lot less than mining There’s also this you know what I hate about farming is Ghost blocks you know those things that Skyblock tried to claim that they had fixed several times see see how this is a bit of a problem I literally can’t get off of this if I try to

And the only way out of this is I guess going to My Island So not entirely thrilled that that’s a thing Given that their server side I would disagree with that I don’t know where I was farming so we’ll just go here you could aspect the end through them but this Iron Man doesn’t have an aspect to the end so uh next suggestion I think you can right click ghost blocks to make them reappear I will try that

The next one we find I don’t think that’s the case though thank you But we will give it a shot well let’s give her in that case kind of changes things what you want to do is make sure that you’ve got at least 2 000 mining speed pick the biome that you like the best I would advise against the jungle because

Dealing with those little amethyst bug things is a pain in the ass and mine until you get a chest when you get a chest open that chest repeat Ad nauseam until you have at least five maybe six million gemstone powder and as much mithril powder as that generates for you I make nothing in our farming because right now I’m still trying to grind out my melon armor so I’m not selling any of this so I have no idea you can work from the go oh okay well that would have saved me at least one warp Archie but the problem is if you

Warp out of an instance and then back into that instance it fixes all the ghost blocks that are currently in that instance so it’s still probably better to go to My Island than the garden but thank you I didn’t know that yeah but occasionally you know

End up mining some of those glass blocks so if you are going to powder grind my strong advice is to get yourself a jungle pickaxe and if you need extra mining speed put the heated reforge on it the reason for that is the jungle pickaxe will at the very least give you

A whole shitload of sludge and you can at least sell that while you’re powder grinding and oops make a little bit of money You’re the second person in three minutes to tell me that Archie and I haven’t encountered an encountered another one yet to test it but I’ll give it a shot if I come across another one let’s be honest when I guess I should probably take a look at my visitors huh We’ll do that when we get to the end of this Garden or this uh this Farm tricks they probably got some of the rare drops from visitors they’re not specifically and only talking about the um the resources that they gathered that’d be my guess Willis gaver you might want to check

Supposed to be coming for over eight months now and I have no more hope for it I think foraging is a skill that’s needed to be updated pretty badly since they released the server but my problem with it is they released a road map a while ago

They’re now pushing the foraging update back to release the rift on its own during this update so I’m not very optimistic uh there’s a reason why there is character migration that Hypixel Skyblock will be down for 12 hours I don’t know what you’re talking about I’ve already read that Forum post guys and they’re not unless they’ve made an update to it in the last 24 hours they’re not definitely doing that they’re considering having it be on 1.19 which I think it’s the wrong choice I think having the whole server go to 1.19 is a

Good idea but I think having one specific area go to 1.19 is a really terrible idea because I mean imagine for a second that you’re playing a character and you need to get something from the forger maybe you need like minion storages or something you want to grind those out for 10 minutes

Okay well now you have to altaf for the game and go and relaunch on 1.19 but now that you’ve got your minion storages you want to go back to farming okay close the game again go back to 1.12 get your crop hit boxes working right oh but you forgot to get something else

From the foraging island or there’s like maybe something that you you missed or something okay close the game again relaunch the game again go on to 1.19 see what I mean it clicks just a pain in the ass that’s just an unnecessary pain in the ass Now if they make the whole game 1.19 great you know what the best part about that would be watching all the noobs suffer that they can’t use their mods for like 48 hours because the mod developers didn’t keep up with the with the game updates that’s the that’s I’m gonna be honest

You to have a Microsoft account associated with your Minecraft account for them to be able to work together basically which locked some people out of their Minecraft accounts because they couldn’t prove that it was their Minecraft account maybe they didn’t have the payment information for it whatever

That’s the only real big issue that I’ve seen well mortal separating the art from the artist is something that a lot of people can do and a lot of people can’t OptiFine is a mod that I use as well um Philip if you have a bad PC

And you’re running a Minecraft at a version I think it’s higher than 1.16 you might want to look into sodium and lithium there are mods that require you to use I think it’s something called paper but when I messed around with them I was able to get like four to like literally

Four to five times the amount of FPS that I had with OptiFine on higher versions of Minecraft but they did cause some graphical issues so you do have to configure them pretty heavily foreign Keep in mind that the Hypixel changed their minds a while ago like have you been gone for a while fabric that was it sorry not paper it was fabric you’re right if you’ve been gone for a while you might not want to use those mods because a if they’re not updated then

They may have something that Hypixel decided was blacklisted in the mod developers removed B they may just be blacklisted mods now that we’re okay before and see this is kind of the bigger problem a mod could be safe right now and the next version of it could have keyloggers in it

There is a I won’t name any names but I know that there’s a mod creator for Hypixel Skyblock that completely threw away his credibility by having one of the more popular mods for a long time and then throwing a key logger into the next update one time

And in doing that he was able to sell a few thousand Minecraft accounts but uh yeah kind of kind of threw his credible nature away credibility away so I’m of the opinion that not only are mods unsafe I’m not gonna tell you who it is not

Only are mods unsafe just on a broad sort of uh sort of stance they completely do value your experience with the game most of the time most of them do so think about it like this right Hypixel Skyblock is made by Hypixel Hypixel makes decisions as to what they

Want their content to be what they want in their server how they want the game to be played how they want the content to be run why do we allow third-party tools to completely mitigate that I’ll give I’ll use the example of dungeons okay since mortal here asked me about secret

Finders the entire point of dungeons is to find secrets on your own memorize where they are learn from doing the content over and over and over again and get better at it over time if you’re using secret aura or secret finders or dungeon pathing mods you never have that opportunity you never

Have to learn a goddamn thing and because of that you can go into dungeons on practically day one for whatever [ __ ] like not literally a day one character but day one of you doing dungeons and compete with people that have been doing it for six months or eight months or a year

So not only are you never actually getting the experience that they planned for you to have in the first place you’re also devaluing the experience of everyone who spent the time and put in the work to learn how to do that content in the first place by just bypassing all

Of it with mods another good example of the the um the dungeon puzzle room with the three NPCs and you have to solve the um like the little brain teaser with them if you’re too stupid to figure that content out you don’t deserve the rewards for that content full stop

That’s how that works that’s how it’s supposed to work not every dungeon run has to be an S Plus run or they shouldn’t have to be an S Plus run where the hell is my other melon farm oh it’s on this side but because the meta for the community

Is to have everything Perfect by using secret mods and you should just be perfect all the time and always get an S Plus run if you’re not doing that and you miss a secret or you screw up a puzzle room or something like that most people just exit the dungeon quit the

Party and find somebody who’s using mods so not only does it alienate people that don’t want to ostensibly cheat it devalues even the developer time because think about it one of the devs had to make those dungeon rooms they had to hide those Secrets they had

To come up with the ideas of how to get to them and if you’re just stonking through walls and using mods that show you where everything is or God forbid secret or that just solves everything within a six block radius of you you just why even play the game

You’ve chosen that you don’t want to participate in the content you just want the rewards from it and anyone that can tell me that that isn’t cheating well we’re gonna disagree and it doesn’t matter to me whether Hypixel considers it cheating I consider that cheating foreign

Dungeon room dungeon runs I’ve never seen anyone do that one right I’ve only ever seen people like Bonzo staff throw a wall Jitter around a little bit and then walk out saying the room is done um the one where you have to figure out how the water has to go through the uh

The puzzle I’ve sat there for a couple of minutes sometimes and had trouble with that or other times been pretty you know pretty quick with it but I’ve never really encountered another player that doesn’t use solvers for it another example is what some people call the Boulder room for some reason the one

That has a bunch of boxes with switches on it I have no goddamn clue how that room works because every time that I’ve ever done it it’s just had people run in there hit a bunch of buttons and run out with the rewards and if it gets bricked

Then they just glitch through the ceiling at the top of it anyway so it doesn’t matter you know I feel like people have the idea that the goal is not to play anymore I think that’s exactly it but I think the more the moreover of it is their goal is gimme mine now that’s the mentality of most Skyblock players and that’s the reason that most content that gets put

Into this game anymore is just higher and higher and higher numbers there was mass inflation with netherwort making four mil an hour and the next update removed a third of that but then the update after that out of the crystal Hollows and gave us a hilarious form of

Um of inflation which had to be nerfed twice which is still way too overtuned there’s Mass inflation cookie prices are rising so what do they do they make farming 18 to 20 million an hour I expect that the foraging update if it doesn’t make at least 20 million an hour

With high-end gear is just going to be dead on arrival as well and it’s not even about the content it’s just about the rewards for the content it doesn’t matter what the content is as long as the rewards are good and as long as I don’t have to work for them seems

To be the mentality of the community and I absolutely hate that and I hear what you’re saying about fairy Souls I like high pixel Skyblock but my problem with that is that if you aren’t willing to go and find the fairy Souls you don’t deserve the rewards And now that they’ve made it so that fairy Souls don’t give you like 800 base HP and that they’re only a little bit of Skyblock XP and access to backpack slots they don’t really matter that much See like I don’t mind that it’s 13 million an hour because there’s other content that’s better excuse me because there’s other content that makes more I mind that it’s 13 million an hour because that’s still way too much and a lot of other content is still way too much there’s mining is just

Overtuned I’ll be the first one to say it mining shouldn’t make you that much money The fact that it does I mean what do you do you know yeah but why should you have to YouTube video them they’re supposed to let me let me back you up one step here Skyblock you shouldn’t need all of the fairy Souls but they were considered to be a barrier

Of entry for Dungeon players because if you’re starting Dungeons and you haven’t done any of the fairy Souls you’re going to be going in there with like 200 hp and getting one shot you shouldn’t need every single one or close to every single one of an optional hidden Easter egg item

You know what I’m saying so they actually did kind of mitigate that with Skyblock XP I don’t like the SkyBlock XP system but I will admit that it does fix the fairy Souls problem because I’ve got zero fairy Souls on this character and I’m sitting here with 500 HP

And that just wouldn’t happen before and I think I’ve only got growth on one piece of my armor right now for my farming set because it’s the pants that I use for my combat set because it just is I haven’t looked into the rift content very much I have no idea what it’s going to be but I expect it’ll just be dead content within a week and my pessimism comes from the track record of the company more than looking at the actual content itself

Maybe I’m Wrong maybe it’ll be the next big thing but you know what I’ve noticed a year ago when he used to play Hypixel Skyblock if you were an Iron Man and you came across another Iron Man you’d like say hi to them or something or like check out their profile because

Bunch of um a whole bunch of essence that way mortal as I said the thing that they need to start with is removing the ability to vendor any items for coins like full stop nothing maybe equipment but resources farming resources mining resources zero coins they shouldn’t give you coins

See the problem is the amount of hyperinflation that’s happening is happening because there’s coin faucets that are just open right now if they close those coin faucets eventually things would normalize I’ll give you an example here that I’ve sort of talked about recently on these streams think about it like this

You trickle sell it to the NPC you make a profit that’s a terrible situation for an MMO to be in because that means the items are useless not useless but worthless so why why even give me crops while I’m farming why not just give me money why
