1.11 Mob Farm Madness: Insane Shulker Factory ft. xisumavoid

Hello everyone and welcome back to another minecraft video in this one I’m going to be building a shoka farm so let me make it very clear from the get-go of this video that we will be using a monster spawner that’s right one of these things below me will be set to

Spawn chokers and that’s how we’re going to build our farm as far as I know there isn’t a way to farm chokers other than you doing the grind flying around the end and visiting lots of n cities so as far as this video goes it is not technically survival friendly however

It’s going to be a survival build the only thing that won’t actually be from survival itself will be the mob cage which borne chokers so to give you some context we are on my patron minecraft server right now this is where we will be building the farm it’s a vanilla server that’s been

Running for over a year and has a large player base of active players which means schalke boxes are going to be very hard to come by as a solution to this problem we decided to do something a little different rather than a just loot tables or purge the end so n cities

Could replenish we decided to make the shock of farmable with a spawner so I’m going to be building one of these farms for the patrons I will build it in creative mode but the only part that can’t be built in survival is the mob cage so technically it is a survival

Friendly farm the patrons have also built a farm themselves which I am yet to see and when I’m done with my farm we will also check out their design too so we could build this farm anywhere in the world but initially I pictured it being in the end because that is the place

Where shockers are found and we’re going to stick to that because I think it’s a fair compromise for the player to travel all the way out here to use the farm so we are on the opposite side of the end island to where the Enderman farm is so

Off in that direction we can’t see is an Enderman farm on the opposite side here we are and this is 200 blocks exactly away from the center of the world which i think is a fair distance out so what we want to do is change this block that

I’ve placed here to a mob cage and the way that we’re going to do that is by looking at the block so you see there is a line on the left-hand side that says looking at if we are too far away that line will go away so you need to be

Close enough for that to be there because we’re going to use it with this command which is set block so we type in set block then we press tab and the numbers of the block that we’re looking at go into each coordinate so I’ve pressed tab three times and then

We’re going to press tab again to bring up minecraft and we’re going to type mob and then it will finish in the rest for us so mob spawner and bam there you go we’ve turned it into a mob spawner the next thing to do is to turn it into a

Shocker one which we do by taking a shocker egg and right-clicking it on the mob cage and immediately some shockers have spawned for some reason they’re white that was something I guess I didn’t really think about I believe this could be considered a bug because the

Shocker that I have in my hand when placed down is purple but when you put it into the spawner it goes to the white color which is strange one of the first things you need to do though is surround this with glass because as you can see

The shoka’s are going to teleport to it it’s the only block in range that they can actually teleport to and they won’t teleport to glass these are things that I’ve learned from playing on the Hermit pack server because we had a shocker spawner and we used it to make a diamond

Farm because in that mod pack shelters will drop diamonds so now that we’ve removed the spaces around the monster spawner for the Shockers to teleport to and you can see that they’re just floating in the air which is fine but what we’ll use it for in a moment is to

Teleport them into a trap that we’re going to build which will then help us farm the Shockers obviously doing this in survival minecraft would be pretty crazy you’d probably want a big platform around here and a group of friends to help you kill the Shockers it would actually be extremely difficult I’m very

Glad I decided to do this in creative mode this is a fascinating site right here and if you saw we did on hermit pack you may be thinking that I’m just building the same thing again and I kind of am but I’m actually doing a little bit more testing here because I’ve read

That shoka’s would be able to teleport up to 19 blocks and at the moment that doesn’t appear to be true now the way that I’ve done this test is by building this platform on this side first of all and when I did that shoka’s that spawned

Over in these free blocks on this side would never teleport over to this side here and it wasn’t until I started building this platform and literally the moment that I placed all of this own the shoulders from this area started teleporting over here so if the nineteen

Bloc rule is true or not it doesn’t seem to be quite as practical when being used in a farm and another thing you’ll notice is that there are a ton of shelters here which means that both of these platforms are outside the escape area so we can build up large numbers of

Shockers just like I’ve done over here this is going great so far and on either side we have nine spaces in total for the Shockers to teleport to if that’s not enough we’ll be able to easily expand it and the next fling for us to

Add is the way that we’re going to kill the Shockers which is using cactus now when we did this in modern Minecraft we had some spikes and have instantly fought another problem they can probably teleport to the sides of the sand right from the cactus that’s no problem though

Because I’ve already fought ahead we’re not actually going to be placing the sand here the cactus is going to come up from way down below outside the range of the shocker teleporting but before we get to that now you can see what’s going to happen they’re going to instinctively

Open their shells like this and then the cactuses are going to do damage to them and that’s the way that we’re going to kill the Shockers and here is the next part of the farm where I’ve been patiently observing the Shockers dying as they extend out into the cactus and

Seeing where the drops land and it looks like the drop rates are a little bit lower you don’t see the items go directly into the cactus if I haven’t seen that at all but a lot of the time it looks like the shoka dies with its body positioned a little bit more

Towards the cactus there’s another one dropping down so I’m going to keep observing I think we might have to try and find a way to mate it’s a bit more efficient or we could say this is okay because the shells do drop down and if it’s lossy it’s still a farm that you

Can stand out and get free shoulder shells right the other thing that I’ve done here is think about aesthetics a little bit I was going to use some colored glass around the outside but I think that might be too much we’re going to stick with the plain stuff and we’ve

Put in some dark for is marine and some sea lanterns so we’ve got a little bit of a green thing going on here oh yes and this platform down the bottom here is also to demonstrate make that the shoku’s won’t teleport down to here and this is 12 blocks away

From the top there so that number that I got from the wiki which was 19 might not actually be correct not a single choker has teleported down here look at that quite the sight to behold a strange-looking farm if ever I saw one let’s check out what’s happening down

The bottom here so you can see the hoppers pointing to the central block that’s going to be replaced with some chests in a moment that’s where the items will collect and at the moment as you saw right there they’re going to fall into the water and get pushed along

To where the hopper chain starts now you might notice that some of the water pushes towards the cactus that’s true however all the items fall down on the front side I haven’t seen any land on the glass yet as well which is like that I was worrying about and by the way the

End islands are behind us because I have rotated this thing initially we had our platforms on that side and this one and then I thought the patrons are probably going to want to build a lovely tunnel leading over here so why don’t we rotate this around and then it will be like

Walking straight up to where the collection point is which is pretty cool so the rates don’t seem terribly high but then shoka she’ll drop rates aren’t particularly great to begin with it’s possible that some of them get destroyed on the cactus and if that’s so hate the

Farm still produces them but this is the only way I know how to kill the Shocker at the moment let’s say we use something like a chest high it’s simply going to open into the chest and no damage will be taken and so there are no other

Blocks that I know of that will cause the chakra to take damage I have experimented with a few others including solid blocks have seen them open up into solid blocks and then sometimes they like to teleport away as well so there aren’t too many options on how to do

This now Joker’s like to teleport away when there is a block in front of them a solid one but here’s a little experiment of just dunkers we’re too far away from this one to teleport you can see it simply opens into the solid block so it’s just that the cactus deals damage

To the player which makes me think of one other block we could try aha so you can open into this block but it doesn’t do any damage to it so what if that will the block that it teleported to let’s say for a second that it will

The teleport to it let’s get rid of this guy and we will simulate that by spawning Ashoka here no damage so it really does look like cactus is the only way to go all right this is it this is the farm and I was just thinking about Enderman you see they can’t spawn

Anywhere here but they could technically teleport to different parts of it I don’t think they would cause a problem however if there’s going to be a bridge coming over to this place it’ll need to be smothered in water which is what I was thinking of doing to this however it

End up looking quite ugly and at the moment it’s not necessary so in the time that we’ve been doing this we’ve been getting 28 shelter shells which is slow but I think that’s kind of reasonable considering that we’re using a spawner for this farm and now the final update I

Have moved everything down here up by four blocks so when you’re stabbing in this area you’re actually activating the spawner up the top there which is important of course and I’ve added some big glass walls on the sides here because I saw some schalke shells landing on the glass so that was

Possible for them to land there and now if they go in that direction they’re going to hit the glass and end up in the water but anyway this thing is ready I’m going to invite the patrons over to see this thing very soon but as of right now

We’re going to head over to their chakra farm and check out what they’ve made it looks like my patrons have gone full-on minecraft pro here because oh wow what is that I didn’t notice that a second ago um there is one of these out here in

The void which is a clever old trick discovered by nan bomb MC so this is how you get bulb this is where the place takes you to and so out here in the void there is a chakra farm and I haven’t even looked at this thing properly yet

That’s probably why I didn’t notice that up there I just want to walk in here and see what it is all about so I’m gonna guess that the buttons stopped them like teleporting and they can’t teleport to slabs sort of these snow layers and there are they show cuz they can’t be

Because they’ve been died there must be chakra boxes so I haven’t got a clue but the farm is an active yet because I’m the one who’s got to put the spawner in here there’s also this this must be where you collect the items so if we go

Into this middle area I guess the spawner will be right here in the middle these chakras are going to teleport inside here aren’t they are they because there’s a lot same room we just looked at let’s going to spectator mode I haven’t got a clue how this works okay moment of truth

Everyone’s here to check out what’s going on okay they’ve teleported somewhere else I think I can hear them taking wait a minute is this like a player based shoka farm to the other players have to go and kill the Shockers why are they teleporting – so they

Teleport in here and you walk around and kill them manually ah and then you use you can use a looting sword and then I see the minecart is going to go around and pick it up the minecart hopper and then you’ve got a hopper chain there as well under those slabs that’s really

Clever that is awesome I actually like that a lot so that’s why there’s all these buttons to stop them teleporting anywhere else it’s the only position they can go is outside of the spawn area here very clever stuff I like it a lot of jimmies going up into the sky GG buddy

Be careful here and also yeah what is this thing it kind of reminds me of a diamond I want to say it pretty much is a diamond shape right it’s odd not to see a whole bunch of shockers clinging to this thing it might be the players

Around here that mean they shoot at them and they don’t think about teleporting to this but I’m also going to surround it with glass just in case they have the same problem extremely cold so the server now has two of these farms and I’m going to show all of the patrons the

Well awesome yes this is a farm enjoy it and there we go they’ve made it over here and I think they’re impressed by the automatic part when I knew the patrons were building their own one I kind of assumed they would do automatic as well and I was half expecting to see

A whole bunch of cactus but very interesting there so two different designs a manual and an automatic in one video for you yes we’re using the monster spawner but hey we can still have fun with it and come up with cool little contraptions even though they’re not 100% you know survival friendly so
