Welcome to the mischief I’m Valen and this is Astro sorcery from Minecraft 112 and up today I’ll be showing you how to progress further into the mod including finding starlight viewing the constellations turning starlight into a liquid another cosmic progress in items so to start with of course you’ve got Your journal as before open it up and you’ve got access to the exploration chapter now that you have gone through the getting started bit by bit that I just covered in episode 1 this here will allow you much greater access into the mod and at least a few different Abilities at the very least so let’s start with the light well a light well is a very simple tool and we’ll use one of those rock crystals that you just made in fact you’re gonna want to dedicate a little bit of time and effort to this make sure to have yourself some Buckets ready because you’re going to be needing them so now that you’ve been able to find yourself a place to put your luminous crafting table in this case I’ve put it relatively near the shrine and of course open to the starlight otherwise it wouldn’t actually Be usable for instance if I pick this up put it down underneath here you can see we have a negative it does not work underground so you have to keep it out open to the sky that might be changed later on but for now just know that if You can get yourself at least a decent amount of starlight don’t even need very much you can start making light wells which require some new stuff runed marble which is made with a piece of chart chiseled marble and any other kind of marble on either side now it should Be noted that you do need the luminous crafting table in order to do so so if I take a couple pieces of marble and chiseled marble it will just make a regular marble arch in a crafting table even if it’s receiving a floating crystal star light so you need a Luminous crafting table to do this take one of these and you put a couple of marble on either side and instead you get the runed marble which is what you’re going to need take your resonating one right click on there you’ll of course get this the moonlight Showing down and you get the items popping in on top now that you’ve got that you can make yourself a light well there we go and you now have a light well now you have rock crystals by opening up the second chapter you should be able to actually identify your rock crystals by Holding the shift key you can now see a size of purity and a cutting basically what you want to do is pick the one with the lowest purity and go with that here we go this one’s got a 15 purity so I’m going to grab that one toss it in there The reason being is that you’re basically destroying the rock crystal in the process of making this light well now that I’ve done that just right click and I get the light well not a problem put this thing down of course open to the sky same as before and you’ll want To put items in it to generate starlight liquid starlight now you have options at this point if you’ve been struggling to get rock crystals but you have an abundance of aquamarine you can put aquamarine in there but there is something you should know allow me to place down several light Wells so that you can actually see what it is I’m about to show you and that is you can put down the aquamarines in here and over time they will slowly start giving liquefied starlight which is extremely light very useful very bright if you stand in it You get yourself night vision I can never get out of it there we go night vision and these will slowly kind of drain starlight off of them potentially making flares in the process which are just harmless little entities that will fly around imagine them sort of like a Bat but they’re just really cool and pretty but in time these will break and often you could potentially maybe like one in 15 we’ll get you an entire full light well which is two buckets worth of starlight otherwise you most likely they’re going to break partway through Before you even get a bucket and then you’ll have to go through several aquamarines in fact I’ve gone through many in the past but as I said if you have an abundance of aquamarines because you live near water or sandy beach or something or those just have better Access to you then the rock crystals do feel free to put those in otherwise you can grab yourself a light well put it down and you can put one of your rock crystals in there once again it doesn’t really matter what the levels are on Here I would just go with the one with the lowest purity in this case I’m grabbing this one that has what is it twenty six percent I’m gonna put that in there and it will also deposit the Starlight liquid starlight that is now here’s the thing with the rock crystal you can get A lot of starlight a lot of liquid starlight it will eventually break as the aquamarines will – but you should be ready with a bucket I’ve got some here oh and there we go we just had our first aquamarine break and you can see I can’t I can’t buck it Out of it just yet but it is actually pretty close these ones are performing much better than I had originally planned but in time this one here will probably make you I don’t know anywhere from a few oh they’re all starting to break now a few Buckets of starlight – I don’t know a couple of tens worth at least so it can be very productive but it will produce a lot at nighttime and extremely very little if any during the day so therefore it’s something that you’re gonna want to watch because you can only Grab two buckets at a time before it fills up and once it’s full it’s not producing any more so you’re gonna want to make sure that if you have some starlight being produced at other ones you can see I can’t combine these two but I can put down another aquamarine on Top of it on top of both of those in fact and therefore continue the process these will create starlight very slow in comparison to the rock crystal so if you do have a single rock crystal you can spare this could really be beneficial with speeding you along otherwise like I Said you could just use your aquamarines something you should also know is that once placed you cannot get your rock crystal or aquamarine back and I’m going to leave this one here so that I can therefore just kind of deposit a bit of starlight here and there and you can see It created a light area just by placing it so it’s kind of a light in itself now you might be asking yourself okay so this is kind of cool that we’ve got this thing and yes it actually does pour very quickly for instance allow me to just place this Down you can see how quickly that kind of gets picks up and moves it’s very fast if it touches water it will create ice as well as as you noticed before give you night vision if you stand in it but why would I need this stuff otherwise besides it just being Really cool and that is to create the next item that is going to be very important a sky wave resonator we’re going to require aquamarine couple marble gold and of course that bucket of liquid starlight all right so let’s grab my marble a little bit of gold Aquamarine and of course that bucket of liquid starlight and I get myself a resonator which I will use my wand to activate that again the meantime I’m gonna collect a little bit more of the starlight and there we go now what does the sky wave resonator do this is Something that is very important if you are in need of starlight you’re having some problems or you don’t have one of these shrines very nearby your place you need to find some starlight you need to find it fast well this can help you find concentrations of starlight basically Imagine the Starlight Epping and flowing sort of like this landscape does here in some areas it’s very high in others it’s very low it kind of overlaps the existing world Jen so you can’t create it but you can harness it and focus it this is an excellent example of a very High concentration basically this means that the starlight field is going to be very good in this entire area you can if you so desire build a tower on top of it to maximize this effect going way up to a very high level and you will gain the Benefits of that as you can see on top of that block as well so if you see little sparkles in a dark blue area that’s going to be a very very good concentration now if you see something else more like this you might see some light little darkish blue areas this is Just a very faded one but it is going to be increased from what it was before you’re gonna want to put down your luminous crafting table in them and this is kind of a middle ground as you can see we have kind of a darkish blue area but there’s no sparkles so What you want ideally is going to be this but either one of those is going to work if you need to harness it now what does this mean does this mean that I have to have my base near to these things it doesn’t mean that you have to It means that you can and it will benefit you to start if you have access to one of those areas or at the very least one of these altars that you can you know kind of harness the power from now something else you should know is That if you are flying around in the world or even running or very high up you might not see this stuff you have to be within about three chunks in order to see these this stuff close by so if I start flying away you’ll see it disappears so if you’re really high up In the world looking for this you’re really not gonna find it too easily you want to be down close and potentially you know I would recommend in clear open areas so that you can traverse quickly looking for these kind of zones but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to be in These areas it’s just going to be easier to see now you might also be wondering why do I need a higher level of starlight well certain items that you create will require certain levels of starlight for instance if I am to create a hand telescope it will require a glass Lens and a little bit of starlight but it does say not much instead of none so therefore if it’s daytime this is going to be very difficult to craft so as you can see here I have a Loomis crafting table out open to the sky it’s daytime I Right-click on it I don’t get much light not at all and it’s actually going to get worse as the day goes on because right now it’s still kind of early in the day this will slowly start degrading even further but if I try and make myself that lens for a hand telescope You’ll see that there’s actually a very light blue area this means that I’m not meeting the requirements for it I need it to be a little bit more so as you progress through the mod more expensive things will require more and more starlight therefore this is why you’re Going to need a good concentration of starlight at least to start because some of these items will require a lot there we go the sun’s going down and now I should have a lot more starlight to work with and therefore can craft this lens that I was wanting to make There we go I now have my lens what else can I do with this there’s a lot more to go you can take that lens a bit of gold and some sticks and make yourself a hand telescope this is where a lot of people get frustrated but stick with it alright A couple of sticks we’ve got a little bit of wood gold and we’ve got ourselves that lens and oh oh dear we’re gonna need a lot more starlight well you can wait until it’s date or wait until the middle of the night and you might have Enough or you can move over to one that is in a stronger area that you might better be able to use so let me take some of these and once again you can start seeing the requirements for needing a lot of starlight but this lens In place and now I can make myself that telescope cool I now have the telescope I can look out into the world just by looking out I need to have open sky if I am near something oops I just kind of touched the that and got night vision But if I’m near something and I use this you will get a blank screen potentially I mean right now I’m kind of close to stuff if I use this nothing if I’m underneath something it won’t work I need to be out in the open visible to the sky and I should if I Look up be able to see some potential constellations now just by looking around you might in time find some if you scroll too fast you might not see anything if you go too slow you might not see anything so you take advantage of the time while you have it aha there we go Just by going here I now have this so there is an interesting constellation I don’t know if I have that one what should I do well you can escape out of there hold your position go into your journal and click on constellations you can therefore see the constellations out Here and try and figure out which one it is in this case I think it’s Dissidia so without moving I go back click on here and it’s still there now if I hold shift I now have a mouse pointer hello and I can start drawing lines by left-clicking from one to the Other and I let go and continue on just to make the shapes therefore I think I should be able to make this kind of double pickaxe headed looking item Dissidia constellation discovered now and I look up in the sky you’ll actually have Dissidia displayed some nights it Will be out other nights it will not it depends as the progression goes so keep that in mind that you won’t always have all constellations out you won’t always have any constellations out so you’ll you’ll you know have a chance of finding some each night and the handheld scope Can help you find them they’re really cool and they give you a nice aesthetic but there is even more that you can use for that later well that’s all well and good but for now what do I have access to you have access to new crystal tools And in order to do that you’re going to be needing to use your rock crystals now rock crystals are used for a lot of things so use them sparingly but if I make something as simple as a sword crystal sword per say I need access to a luminous crafting table of course and Two different rock crystals plus a stick on a luminous crafting table will make that that just as an example anytime that you would need a metal in order to make something like an iron pick or axe or anything like that instead you’d replace the ingot with a rock crystal Now you’d think alright well I’ll just slap those together on the table and go there is something you should take into effect or at least into consideration and that is the cutting purity in size the bigger it is the better that’s going to increase its durability overall plus The purity is going to allow you to sharpen it and make it even stronger easier without cutting its durability down durability runs a little differently with crystal tools so what are the ideal items in this case kind of a trade-off in this case the size is so Low but the purity is really high so I might be able to take advantage of that this one is a really good candidate for potentially making a really good tool what else do I have here there’s another one for 60% that’s excellent I’m gonna take these two here and make myself a Sword with them let’s go onto the table I’m going to take this one here and this one here and I could do this and you can see it will make a sword but before I do that I should probably take advantage of enhancing these crystals a little bit Before doing so so you remember when we put down this star light on the ground so that we could store it because this will only store two buckets worth in it well if you throw one of these crystals in there you’ll start noticing some special effects over time this is going To increase its overall size up to its maximum of 400 for a rock crystal this will also help increase the durability overall of your tool and while that is currently absorbing some starlight because I’m sure you’ve got plenty sitting around from all your rock crystally goodness that you’ve been Working with then you can work on something else namely a grindstone now a grindstone is of course going to be very basic to make there we go and my star light is starting to fade because the night is going away but I should still have plenty of time to make this And the grindstone is going to allow you to enhance your tools and weapons well depending on how things go it’s a really cool little item and it even works with you know your vanilla stuff to an extent if I take a vanilla diamond sword for example and I put this on the grindstone I can then just right-click it and you’ll start seeing some animation going on if I keep right-clicking it eventually it will stop and this weapon will be considered sharpened there we go the sparkles stopped and now if I shift right-click I can take this back out and it will actually say something like Sharpened on it perhaps or even a 10% bonus and it will do 10% bonus damage to enemies pretty cool and you can do even better than that with your rock crystal weapons now you notice this one here ate one of the two of the the liquid starlight that we had There and this one now has a much higher size I can do this several more times over several other ones looks like I’m going to need to kind of put that in place to keep it in it’s spot and therefore I will need to do this with the other crystal as well Just to make sure that these are kind of beefed up now of course you don’t have to do this you can do it afterwards if you if you so desire but let’s grab one of these here put this in place make yourself a stick and then I take this Hit resonating one click and we’re gonna make ourselves that sword anyway cool alright I now have my crystal sword which has an okay size a really good purity and a lower cutting the cutting is what’s important you see it’s got a three attack speed so it’s almost twice As fast as a diamond sword or any other sword for that matter but looking at a diamond sword seven attack damage this has 2.6 Wow that’s pretty pathetic that’s because it’s cutting percentage is so low you want the cutting as high as possible to get as much damage out of it but with Its current size it’s not gonna do the trick so once again you can throw the whole sword in and start absorbing your Starlight until you can maximize that there we go and that has absorbed at least a couple buckets worth let’s take a look at it now 7:45 that’s much better But you notice that the cutting went down to zero it’s kind of scary but that’s alright that’s what the sharpening stone or the grind stone is for right click and you’ll see it is now going to be a little bit higher there we go cutting is 6% and the size went down a bit that size will not decrease with use it will decrease with use on the grind stone let’s just grind it up a few more times here get a little bit more sparkles if you grind it up too much you might Destroy it if that size goes down to zero then you’re gonna be in trouble so let’s put it back on here we’re just going to grind it several more times grind this and the idea here is that the higher the purity the less size is reduced and the more cutting you’ll be Able to obtain through sharpening this thing up so let’s just grind it up a little bit more there we go cutting 100% size 133 so I’m definitely gonna have to have this thing soaking in a bucket of liquid starlight before I am able to sharpen it again But at the very least I now can look at an oh my gosh 14 attack damage in comparison to a Taemin sword that’s that’s double and it’s almost twice as fast oh my gosh this thing is strong and that’s just an example of one of the different tools That you can make with rock crystals so it can be very effective though it will over time slowly dull itself and therefore lose some of its attack damage thus you will need to soak it in a bucket again and then sharpen it again so let’s say that you’d like to get to This stuff but you’re still struggling with finding a good source of starlight well there are ways that you can definitely enhance the area that you currently have well let’s get into that that is going to be the spectral relay this little guy here this one is going To require a special setup though so first let’s make the spectral relay which is just a very simple recipe but it uses that same glass lens that we made from the telescope down here alright a couple pieces of wood a couple of gold ingot gold nuggets rather glass Lens and marble will make that spectral relay use this resonating one once again and it shows up here now there is more to this little little item and that is the area that it’s going to need to be set up on is going to be like a little Multi block structure it will require a little bit of stuff now if you want to know what all is required in here at the top here it should describe for you the size that it requires it’s a two block tall structure plus it’s a 3×3 area and If you hover over this little star you’ll notice all the ingredients that you’ll need in order to make the structure so let’s make one of these near our luminous crafting table where it is right now and it should not be in an area where it can be obstructed so if You have stuff blocking between it and you you might be in a little bit of trouble on the four corners one two three four then we’ve got our marble arches of course and then the city marble and we put down our little spectral relay on top that’s not all we Are going to need another glass lens that’s right there’s two needed for this put this on top and you’ll notice it starts making particle effects really cool going towards your luminous crafting table which will enhance its last hour light catching ability even during the day now if I open this up You’ll notice that it’s about the same height here with the rock crystal if I put this lens on there it should enhance this oh look at that it gave me a really good chunk like maybe 1/8 more now here’s the thing you can actually make multiples of these and have them Surrounding your crafting table solution you can even have them sharing the same blocks so for example if I put one here break these let’s put some of these here so you can see now let’s fill that in I currently am kind of sharing these two blocks here and this is not being Blocked therefore I could put that down put another glass lens on it and it should enhance it even further I have one a little closer to that than the other there we go and now as they’re not blocking each other it should work alright and it gave Us even more starlight and this this is daytime folks so keep this in mind that you just put down a whole bunch of these and you can really increase your starlight power on your crafting table now I’ve covered all the essentials that we have on here yes the hand telescope Is somewhat essential for later on but right now it’s more of a convenience and a really cool looking tool we’re going to cover the cave illuminator illumination powder in nocturnal powder taking a bit of glowstone and an aquamarine we’ll make you some of this illumination powder which by itself is Pretty cool stuff but being used as an ingredient is something that will be much more beneficial so primarily the use for illumination powder is to illuminate things as you can see it’s relatively dark going up here and up to the top what if I put one down it will Create kind of a torch essentially and there’s no bounding box so I can punch and nothing will break the only way to eliminate one of these is to take a block place it down that will destroy them and they will go away for good alright so we’ve made some illumination Powder what else is a good for well it’s good for creating dangerous situations specifically let’s take a little bit of lapis a little bit of coal an ink sack and one of those illumination powders and you can make nocturnal powder which is very dangerous material so handled with care there we Go and grab some of this now I currently have it set on easy right now and I am in creative but something you should know is that if used in a dark area you will create a temporary mob spawner of sorts it will last for a short time and Bring into the world a whole lot of evil as you can see here but my personal favorite is going to be the cave illuminator there we go we’ll create one of these this is a very very powerful item if you have a lot of caves underneath where you live or just areas That haven’t been lit up yet this is going to be a very strong tool it will essentially illuminate any cave networks underneath the area that you set it in by about maybe 10 or 15 blocks for a very good radius so allow me to go into Game mode 3 or spectator mode as it’s called if I go down here you can see that there are a lot of dark tunnels they are relatively far away there’s one not too far away over here and this crevice has a bit of a dark spot in it So if we place this cave illuminator above us or at least above these tunnels over time it will start filling these different areas with light and as you can see here the light field has been extended out for quite some distance it does not fill light in areas that are Exposed to the sky as those really shouldn’t be needed but more or less you can see that it has filled in some of these caverns here with little glowy yellow light sources and gone in a pretty decent radius it hasn’t gone too far I mean you do have a considerable amount of Stuff has been lit up even some of these side caverns over here so it goes out at a decent range if you’re looking to kind of fill your underground caverns with light sources instead of torches and prevent a lot of mobs spawning down underneath that is definitely one easy Way to go about doing it now that did take a good minecraft day or two so keep that in mind it will take a bit of time to accomplish that and if you need to move this or you want someone else’s base to be lit up you can just mine it Up pick it up and move it to another spot and those eyes those light sources will stay down underground until you place a block on top of them and remove them in that manner otherwise they’re good for as long as you need them so last but definitely not least we’re Going to be covering the Starlight crafting altar which is going to get us to the next tier of crafting that’s going to require a little bit of pillars chisel marble a rock crystal and of course a liquid starlight bucket take all these set them up you should see That in place get yourself a resonating one of course right click and you’ll start seeing a different animation happen it will take a bit longer but it will upgrade your star like crafting altar for you so you don’t need to actually replace the old one you now Have a new one and oh it doesn’t work anymore why not it’s because in order for the Starlight crafting altar to work you actually have to build a special platform area for it to function on and of course it will need access to the sky so once you have Your nine by nine structure four blocks tall built which actually you can see once again your list just by hovering over the star here all the items required and now you can see why you’ve been mining up these shrines as you go so that you’ll have the materials Available to you when you need to build this you should be able to access it placing down your star like crafting altar in the center right click and you now have a new star light bar this will allow
