What’s up I’m troubleshoot welcome back to another video in this quick guide I’ll be showing you how to set up your own Minecraft Forge 1.20 server in the description down below you’ll find a link to the Minecraft Forge website where we can simply expand 1.20 choose 1.20 and click installer to download the Forge installer now for this you will need Java so if you head to your downloads and you don’t see the Java icon double clicking on it doesn’t open it with Java as such what you need to do is head to the Java download link in the description down below and download the Windows x64 jdk install it and try to launch it once more now when it does successfully launch all we need to do is Click install server here and choose a place to place our server I’ll click the three dots then navigate to my desktop and I’ll make a new folder here called Forge 1.20 I’ll then double click it to open it and click open then ok to install our server it’ll go ahead and download anything necessary and place it in that folder ready for us to set up a server then click OK and the installer will close now we can open up the server Folder on our desktop that we just created we’ll have a run.bat file here we’ll double click on this and it’ll start a ton of downloading when we run it you’ll see something like this this error is normal close this file and you should see a brand new euler.txt file Here I’ll open it with notepad and all we need to do is change Euler false to Euler true save using control s and we can close this now we can run the pad file once more to start our server but I wouldn’t recommend doing that just yet All we need to do now is open user jvm args.txt and inside of this we can set some arguments for our server for example xmx 4G to give it 4 gigabytes of RAM the more RAM you give it the better your server should perform especially under load with many players but do keep In mind you can only give it Ram that’s left available on your PC you can’t give it more RAM than is currently available and of course if you’re going to be playing on your own server on the same computer you’ll need to make sure that you have enough RAM for Minecraft to Function as well as browsers and things like that in the background you can check your task manager by hitting Ctrl shift and Escape heading to the performance tab followed by memory to see your total amount of memory in the top right and the available amount of memory down here usually you’ll have Maybe 16 gigs maybe a third of it will be used so you have 12 gigs left we can go ahead and give the Minecraft server 6 of the 12 and that should leave 6 for our PC browser Minecraft client Etc don’t give it all of your available free Ram otherwise if you do and Things fill up things may start crashing or being weird I have a ludicrous amount of RAM on my PC so I’ll comfortably set this to 16 G meaning 16 gigs and xmax meaning maximum I’ll save it and close this file And now we can run run.bat once more this time our actual server should start up after generating a few different files there we go the server is now running now you should also notice that there’s a mount folding him that you can populate with Forge mods Etc just Restart the server once you have and you should be able to play with them right now we have our Forge server running how do we actually play it well open up your Minecraft launcher and fire up Forge 1.20 all you need to do now is head to The multiplayer Tab and add a server we’ll enter in the server address 127.0.0.1 which is localhost or home this is your own computer when we add it you’ll see your own server here which we can go ahead and join and you should see in the console just behind Minecraft Here that we’ve now connected to our server and we’re able to play as usual if you’d like to run commands like game mode simply head to your terminal and type in op tcno or whatever your username is and you’ll be giving yourself operator on the server now I Can run slash game mode creative for example and we should be able to fly around and use the creative menu as usual we’re now an administrator on our own server which is great but we’re room all alone how do other people join well if someone’s sitting next to you and Connected to the same router that you are it’s very simple I’ll go ahead and disconnect and now what we need to do is allow our Minecraft server through our Windows Firewall or antivirus firewall Etc if you don’t have third-party firewall software this process is going to be easy for you though do not Antiviruses can have firewalls on them that don’t listen to the Windows Firewall rules so to allow our Minecraft server through to the internet or at least through to our local network we need to allow it through our Windows Firewall hit start and type in terminal and run this as administrator otherwise If you don’t see terminal fire up Powershell as admin instead if you opened up a terminal make sure that it says Powershell at the very top otherwise click the drop down and choose Windows Powershell him now that we’re in the right place in the description down Below you’ll find the link to my website where you’ll get these commands essentially we’re running four commands to allow 0.25565 through to the local network without needing to worry about doing things in our Windows Firewall it’s a lot faster simply heading here and scrolling it down to this section here Click the copy button and paste them into your console here either with right click or by hitting Ctrl V then paste anyway wait for all of these to run hit enter a few times just to make sure everything’s done and now we can close our terminal knowing that Minecraft Should now be allowed through our Windows Firewall super simple for someone sitting next to you they can now connect to your server as long as they know the local IP of your computer which you can get simply by holding start and pressing R and inside of him typing in CMD otherwise you can carry on using the terminal or Powershell window you already have open I’ll type in ipconfig one word and hit enter then it’ll tell us all of the different ways that we’re connected to the network and the internet what we need to do is find the Way that we are connected to the internet in my case it’s ethernet adapter to him yours may be Wireless or Wi-Fi Etc you should see the ipv4 address followed by 192.168 something something this is our local IP address and the number that people will use to connect to our computer when they’re Connected to the same router as us so I’ll click add survey here and in the server address paste in 192.168.150 in my case done and now someone sitting next to me should be able to connect to my Minecraft server in 1.20 and play as per usual awesome But what about someone over the Internet well that’s where things get a little bit more confusing don’t worry though even though port forwarding sounds scary it is super simple I’ve got a really simple breakdown Linked In the description down below that should help you port forward it’s really not Difficult at all as long as you’ve been added through your firewall essentially when someone tries to ask your router how do I connect to your Minecraft server your router will instead of blocking them and saying there’s nothing here that you’re looking for because of security rules instead it’ll send all of That traffic to your computer allowing you to play Minecraft with your friends it really is pretty simple and completely free to do as long as you know your router password but besides that when you’re done playing Minecraft all you need to do is head back to the Terminal here type in save hyphen all and hit enter to save the world and everything in it then type in stop to gracefully bring your server to a close saving everything and closing it properly if you just close the window you’ll kill your server and possibly cause corruption and things like that It’s very good to bring it to a gentle stop at this point your server is now shut down and nobody will be able to play on it until you run run dot bad once more and leave your server going in the background the only caveat of a completely free Minecraft server running On your Hardware is that your Hardware needs to be turned on and running the server in order for anyone to connect and play on it it sounds simple but just keep that in mind if you’re new to this whole server hosting thing anyways that’s a really bad it for this super Quick guide hopefully you found it useful mine has been troubleshoot and I’ll see you all next time ciao foreign Video Information
