Minecraft has a lot of items but fewer as truly secret as the ones shown in this video from knowledge books to jigsaw blocks here are 10 secret items in minecraft java edition that you didn’t know about most of the items in this list are so secret in fact you Can’t even find them on the creative inventory but they can only be obtained through the use of commands now the first one is the knowledge book you get this by typing slash give space your player name knowledge book just like this minecraft colon knowledge underscore book now what in the world Does a knowledge book actually do what this item does is it teaches you different recipes in the game all we have to do to make this item actually useful is that the give command specifications of certain recipes we’re going to try that right now and we’re Going to go into survival now in right clicking with this book it’s actually going to teach us certain recipes you can see there in the top right corner we just learned how to make a bucket and also how to make a flower pot what makes This so useful is let’s say you’re on a map where you have the game rule on where you cannot craft something unless you know the recipe you could have that knowledge book there let’s say if you find the knowledge book to find out how to craft the mythical Iron bucket then once you’ve found that knowledge book you can right click on it consume it and then be able to craft the iron bucket but of course there’s some other uses as well but overall it’s nice to have an item like that where you can learn different crafting recipes through A physical item now the next block on this list is the light bulb you can get this by typing slash give your player name and then minecraft colon light and specify here the light level that you want to be at it can be anything from 0 To 15. we’re going to get one that’s level 7 right here we can also do this really simply by typing slash give space i craft mc light just like that that will give us a light with level 15 as the brightness these do work exactly how you think Let’s just simply set the time right here to midnight just like that and because once it’s midnight i can show these off a little bit better now basically when putting one down like this we can see that it’s there and also it does shed the light level that it Says so for instance if we go over here and place one of light level seven it’s a bit dimmer but it’s still there something kind of interesting about these blocks though is where we to go into survival here and we place a block where the light was a little less simply Disappear if we break this block here the light will not reappear it just was destroyed so it’s interesting about this is there’s actually no way of knowing the light block was there unless you knew that you placed it there yourself and of course the light is there but That light can be destroyed very easily by just placing a block down now these are very useful for any situation where you want completely invisible lighting you can place these down like this very easily and know exactly where they are you can even specify the exact amount of Lighting that you want in a situation with these different lights anything from 0 to 15 although zero doesn’t make any sense and because of that these are really great for maps or any other situation where you could have these blocks on hand it is kind of funny to See light bulbs in minecraft considering minecraft is kind of a medieval game but either way it’s really cool to have these items overall and that’s how you get them the next item is probably the most useful one on this list and all you have to do to get it is type slash give Your player name space minecraft colon debug underscore stick now debug stick is a very interesting item because basically it changes different block states what that means is let’s say we right click on this tree log right here well the tree log would change this direction which is a really interesting Effect let’s say we’re going to grab something like a beehive or a b nest and place it down like this there’s two different block states this can change if we right click on here like this it simply just changes the direction that it’s facing making it spin like that Before we to left click on here we can change what we’re selecting we can change between switching the honey level and switching which way it’s facing we’re gonna go over to honey level here we’re gonna start right clicking again we can change the honey level from zero To five like this let’s say we wanted a five we can then left click again select it to be changing which way it’s facing and right click again to switch it around like that this block is really useful for any situation where you want to change what a block state is for Instance we could go around here and set this thing to be snowy true which is quite an interesting effect like that and of course this is quite useful for let’s say just quickly change around which way a block is facing or something like that you can use this for any block That has changeable block states but let’s say we try this on something you cannot change like a pumpkin it’ll simply tell us that that item has no properties but overall the debug stick is an amazing item to change around a block’s properties and it’s a great tool To have when building the next block on this list is the structure block you can get this by typing slash give your player name minecraft colon structure underscore block this block is mostly actually used by minecraft itself to generate structures in the world such as this villager basically what the structure block does Is it has a bunch of different things it can do around loading different files also changing around where different things are it can do things very very similarly to the clone command it can even change the way that entire structure is facing by changing it by 90 180 or 270 degrees whichever one of those you want you can also have entities and things you’re copying you can have bounding boxes you can load things from a file like it says right here you can change structure integrity seed position and things like this what’s also interesting is you can Change it from different modes you can go from load mode to corner mode to save mode that changes the text your corner mode looks like this the save mode looks like this and load mode looks like that it’s really interesting to have access to a block that minecraft itself uses And oh my goodness there’s a pink sheep there which has literally nothing to do with the next item but what does have to do with what we’re talking about is the next block which is a structure void you can get this by typing slash give space player name minecraft colon structure underscore void Now this item is closely related as you may assume to the structure block basically it’s a strange block that tells structure blocks they cannot place a block there that’s a lot of blocks let me see if i can explain that a little bit let’s say we were going to load in a Villager house like this in a certain area we placed on a structure void right where it was going to load in well it would still load in but wherever that structure void was which you can see is a very strange and small hitbox there would be nothing there so structure Void’s only real use is to tell a structure block you cannot place anything here this is going to stay air it’s really interesting block because of that is mostly something technically used by minecraft itself but overall i would say of every single block in minecraft it probably has the most Irregular texture doesn’t really look like anything you’d see inside the game but either way quite an interesting item and overall that’s just a technical thing used with structure blocks next we have something that you could at one point actually get in survival that is the petrified oak slab and this block Has a little bit of history to get it type slash gives space your player name minecraft colon petrified underscore oak underscore slab now this item is not the same as a normal oak slab in fact you don’t actually have to get it through a give command either if you go to the creative Inventory here and simply type up slab something like this you may have noticed before there’s two oak slabs there’s one here and there’s one here well the petrified oak slab is the one type and the normal oak slab is the other type and basically how this works that when Oak slabs were first added to the game they’re just kind of ported over with the same features as a stone slab something like let’s say the stone slab like this one right here and so basically these two slabs actually have the exact same properties as each other whereas the normal oak Slab has the different properties we can prove this by getting ourselves a pickaxe and trying to mine this now something really interesting you’ll notice that when mining this supposedly would slab it breaks and sounds just how stone would break and sound whereas if we try breaking this wooden one right Here it sounds like wood and also it breaks like wood and so it’s quite an interesting feature there overall and basically when they changed it around that these slabs do just function as normally any player who had the old oak slabs in their inventory those would simply be converted to the petrified oak Slab but it’s interesting overall to have this very historical item inside the game still but these weren’t just turned right into normal oak slabs but it’s a really cool item to have and now you know the history of the petrified oak slab our next item is the command Block mine card now this item is unlike other mine curts by the fact that it’s not usually listed in the creative inventory you can get it though by typing slash give space your player name minecraft colon and then you can go command block minecart like that You can see here if we search up command block mine cart right here nothing shows up if we show up minecart you can see the other minecart types and it does look quite similar now this does is quite interesting it’s basically moving redstone it can be very Very useful for a lot of different purposes so how it basically works is that if it goes over a powered activator rail its command will activate four times every second let’s try something very obvious like summon axolotl something like that what we can do is we Can simply power the rail that it’s on here like this and it should summon some axolotls just like that eventually it did push it off there you can see at some of the axolotls as long as it was on the activator rail we try and push it Back on here like this which might be a little bit difficult but just like this once it’s on there it’ll continue to summon some more axe lulls just like that because it’s being powered it’s interesting because the appearance of this block is sort of the appearance of What you’d expect it’s the appearance of what’s known as the impulse command block these only trigger once when powered so in some way it’s almost like a repeating command block which triggers 20 times a second but this one triggers four times a second when it’s on top of an activator rail Now it makes this actually useful is the fact that certain commands have this tilde symbol in them what that symbol means it has to have the relative position of the command block meaning if you have a command with these tilde symbols in it and this thing is moving You can actually have a piece of moving redstone that relates to the position of this current entity wherever it is and overall it’s quite useful for that it also has a very interesting texture but it’s only available through commands the next block on this list which you may Know about is the barrier block you get it by typing slash give space your player name minecraft colon barrier now this block does is it basically is an invisible and invincible block and that’s basically all that it does what makes it so useful is it’s really great For servers and things like that where you want to maybe limit where people can go but you don’t want to feel like it’s limited we’re going to build a small area like this then build it up here and just have a small wall all the way Around here so you cannot get out but it also doesn’t look like you’re really trapped something interesting is the way these blocks will render in you can kind of see here that some of the blocks we place down are rendered in some are and they kind of take a little bit of time To render in so it’s quite an interesting block that way also when you break it they don’t stop rendering in for a while and they always face you which is also kind of an interesting little effect there let’s go in here and stop having the barrier block in our Hand and those barriers will disappear we can still kind of see the outline of it very vaguely with our mouse there but overall we can walk around here and it doesn’t really look like we’re in an enclosed space however we are this is a really cool block and of course you can Never break these so you’re also trapped in here whether you can see it or not and unlike let’s say the light block you can very well see that outline around there so it’s quite an interesting block for every need you have for an invincible yet invisible item next we Have a very technical item the jigsaw block now unfortunately this is not part of a jigsaw puzzle however it is an interesting item you get it by typing slash give space your player name minecraft colon jigsaw this item is something that’s also utilized by minecraft it is very very Similar to the structured block however there’s a little bit of randomness to it a little bit of interesting patching together of pieces now to be honest i don’t know a whole lot about it but basically the way it works is it’s used for certain structures like for instance The pillager outpost to get that random chance of different types of things like for instance those little tents or those hay bale dummies or things like that it’s kind of cool to look at this little bit of a puzzle piece texture you can use these yourself for different things You can kind of make them face different directions just like this and overall they’re quite an interesting block you can use them to do all different kinds of things and so if you’re working with structure blocks already you could also work with these jigsaw blocks it’s too bad these aren’t Part of a literal jigsaw puzzle but they are still quite useful for all kinds of technical things the last item on this list is the player head but not exactly how you’d think you can summon just a standard player head which is basically minecraft steve’s head just like this you can kind Of place it around there but overall that’s maybe not the most useful decoration feature however if you type in slash give space at player or your player name minecraft colon playerunderscore head then you go bracket school owner bracket player name here so for instance we could change This to let’s say i craft mc something like this and it’ll actually give it my literal player head just like that which is really cool and these heads can be placed all the way around like this you can use them for any player you want and Because they do change if let’s say i changed my skin you could have all different kinds of heads from different famous youtubers and you can kind of see them update whenever they change their skins it’s also interesting because all the information from every minecraft player’s skin is loadable in the game as Long as your internet is on and you’re not in offline mode you can literally get over 30 million different heads easily placed in the game but if you want to know a little bit more about this i actually have an entire video dedicated to custom heads in minecraft And also player heads and there’s an icard on the screen right now which will take you to that and i’ll try to put a link in the description as well oh and you can also put these on your head as well which kind of makes your head a Little bit bigger which is an interesting effect i hope you enjoyed that video about 10 secret items in minecraft you didn’t know about did you know about all those
