Wow it has been a while since we have done one of these a redstone tutorial on a piston door i mean yeah okay it has been a while i i do apologize but quickly let’s distract you with a magnificent 10 by 10 sliding piston door this might be single-handedly the Coolest piston door i’ve ever built like look at this thing this is awesome i am not using up to fine so i’m doing the poor man zoom because otherwise piston doors look really really horrible they kind of do this weird glitchy thing when using optifine i’m not entirely Sure why i think it’s something to do with the amount of honey and slime blocks and all the pistons firing i’ll even hop into optifine and show you look at the glitchy mass this oh is at that it’s horrible it’s absolutely horrible it just doesn’t Look as smooth or as cool or as epic it’s so glitchy it’s just it makes me want to throw up in my mouth if i receive a single comment saying i sound like mumbo i hope you have a wet sock and just so you know this is a very Expensive piston door you’re gonna need a lot of resources 60 pistons 62 sticky pistons 62 observers 20 obsidian or any other immovable block 120 blocks of iron about a stack of glass three yellow wool 13 redstone repeaters 140 honey and slime blocks a single button and i recommend just grabbing a few Stacks of redstone dust and before you grab your blocks or anything else you want to dig yourself a 40 by 5 area for your piston door and this is something i have to say i really enjoy about this piston door compared to other piston door designs because it goes sideways You don’t have to dig down so it actually requires significantly less setting up than other piston doors say like the traditional 5×5 piston door that goes down because then you have to dig down a certain amount of blocks or any other size you go so i actually prefer sliding doors to vertical doors Once you have all of your blocks the first thing you need to do is to come to one of the corners of your piston door so for this example we’re just going to come to the right side and above this block here we’re going to place in a Regular piston then one block over you just want to place a block and a piece of glass and then just go ahead and place in some redstone dust and this is just going to be a temporary situation right now because we just want to use this redstone dust here to test to make Sure that our first row of the piston door is working correctly then you want to go ahead and grab a piece of obsidian and just place it right here get a observer place it against this block place another object over there and break this observer right here now you Want to place in a sticky piston place in a slime block or honey block and place in two then place another sticky piston right here with the honey block alternative against this observer and sticky piston right here then place another slime block here and another one here place an observer going into this Sticky piston and then place another observer right here then grab one of your iron blocks and place it right here then place another two slime blocks right here so you kind of have this weird little l shape and then you want to place another sticky piston right Here grab the honey blocks and place two right here and then place one two three four five then you can place in the first row of your door and then one block over from your door you want to place in one two three four five and This here is going to be the center of your door so you want to go ahead and place in a obsidian block right here because we’re just going to test to make sure that our door actually works and now you want to come to this observer Right here not this one do you want to come to this one place in a piston right above this block right here then place a yellow wall one block over then you might as well just place some redstone dust right here place down a sticky piston then an observer then place down Another bit of redstone dust another bit of redstone dust and then a repeater going into this block and then place a piece of glass going into this piston right here and just put some redstone dust on top of this block and onto this piece of glass right here and now this Door should theoretically fire and everything should work correctly and before you ever test anything in a redstone world or when you’re creating a piston door obviously if you’re a single player world you know you can still create backups but if you’re in a server then you have a slightly different issue There in this instance i’m just going to yellow it and not make a backup because i don’t think i need to because i think i’ve done everything correctly and the piston door should fire and there you go the piston door now fires and now this actually gives you the location that you Need to put your other piston then you can just place a piece of glass there put a piece of redstone dust and then you can push this button again and your door should return and look at that the door returns but the slight difference here is you actually have a redstone repeater going Into this block here and then you just link this redstone line right here and then you can just have a temporary button right here to fire your piston door now you just need to come to the other side of your piston door and just repeat the same process start by placing In your piston place your block one block over place some glass then place some redstone dust and then place a repeater going in to that there then you could just place a button just a temporary button right here so you can fire your piston door and once again Just place in your obsidian right there then get to your observer and you just want to place it against this block and just break that observer there you go now here is actually the really important thing when you’re creating the other side of your door you want to make Sure that your honey and slime blocks are the opposite to these honey and slime blocks right here so you don’t want your bottom half of the door for this section on the other side of the door to be another honey block otherwise they’re going to stick together and your Door is going to break so you want to make sure that it’s going to be a slime block and not a honey block so these two blocks right here need to be slime blocks and then you want honey blocks and then you want to place again your Piston right there place in another two honey blocks right here place in your observer another observer here and place in your iron block and a sticky piston coming out of that then place another two honey blocks and then place in your final slime blocks like so make sure you Actually do it one two three four five the correct way because that was a little embarrassing then you can place in your other five blocks like so and this mechanism is now constructed and you can actually see that this is slime blocks and that is honey blocks so they Are opposites and then you can see that they alternate between each section on the door otherwise they will stick together and it will cause you a lot of problems again just build the same mechanism right here then one block over place in a yellow wall then another one Block over place in your regular piston then get your glass again and just place in two blocks of glass like so place in your redstone dust a repeater going into this block then a piece of redstone dust another piece of redstone dust a piece of redstone dust here and then just Place in a sticky piston and an observer because this observer is basically going to send a wantic pulse to this redstone dust right here and then it’s going to activate this system so now theoretically this piston door should be fully functional i know it’s not the Entire piston door but it is the main mechanism of the door and if you’ve built this correctly there should be a one block gap between this line of blocks here and the same on the other side now before we actually fire this section of the piston door what we’re Going to go ahead and do is actually link up both sides of piston doors to make sure that they are opening and closing at the same time and meet in the center and to do this is actually incredibly simple so firstly you just need to choose a spot where you want Your button so let’s just say we want our button say here and now we should need to dig down two blocks and meet all the way to that bit of redstone dust towards the end of this piston door so you just want to break this button break this block then You want to place a redstone repeater going into this block so then you can eventually close this off then you want to go ahead and just place down some redstone dust meeting up to this corner right here place in another redstone repeater and then just alternate every so often just place in a Random redstone repeater every so often then you can go ahead and place a block right here with a button on top of it place some redstone dust and then do the same on the other side just break your blocks all the way along until eventually you come to the other side of The piston door and you just want to come right around the back here and just come to this corner right here you can go ahead and break it button replace the blocks if you want to then place a redstone repeater and then get your redstone dust and do the same thing Again and just every so often place down a redstone repeater i just put a rough calculation was how many redstone repeaters i used in this piston door i used 13 specifically but you might not need 13 specifically because i don’t actually know how many redstone repeaters i am currently Placing in i’m just placing in redstone repeaters every so often to extend the redstone pulse to make sure everything is working correctly and now that i have both sections of the piston doors linked up you can go ahead and just close off all of the empty air space like so if You are 110 certain your redstone is going to work without any issues then you know go ahead and don’t make a backup but i always do just in case if we have done everything correctly this should link up to the center and everything should be working as i want Oh beautiful oh would you look at that that was that was honestly that was more satisfying than anything it’s always satisfying when your redstone works first time round when it doesn’t work first time around that’s when things get problematic but now the main circuit the main bulk of this Redstone door is actually done you have successfully built your piston door now you need to do is literally repeat the same process over and over and over again all you need to do now is go two three four five six seven eight nine and ten then you want to grab your glass and Place them against the pistons one block apart like so then place a glass block in the center break this one and then just repeat the same process all the way down and just snake your redstone dust all the way up these pistons and again just repeat the same process here so two Three four five six seven eight nine ten and again just place glass blocks one block apart against all of these pistons like so then place a glass block here place another one here break this one place another one break this one place another one break this one and then Snake your redstone dust all the way up your pistons like so it’s really really simple stuff and then all you need to do is just build up with your obsidian to make sure that the door stops in the correct placement because otherwise things will start getting pushed and Things will go wrong and now you just need to rebuild this same door mechanism another nine times so all you need to do is copy and paste what you have already done but just alternate between the honey and slime blocks on each side and there you go that is one side of your Piston door completely constructed and obviously in creative mode i can do this relatively quickly that took me no time at all but if you’re doing this in survival it is going to take you a little bit longer because of the process required to build it and if you’ve done Everything correctly your piston door should be fully functional and i have already gone ahead and made a backup uh let’s go ahead and test this thing oh beautiful absolutely beautiful worked first time like a charm absolutely love it this is an absolutely awesome piston door and it’s absolutely huge and very very Expensive so if you’re gonna build this thing in survival mode make sure you have all of the appropriate farms to actually build this piston door and obviously you don’t have to use iron blocks for your door you can use whatever block you like i just like using iron blocks because you know it’s Just the traditional thing you do in redstone videos for some reason iron blocks and piston doors before we close off today’s video i just want to quickly mention a couple of things if you want to build a door frame around this piston door just make sure that you use a Movable blocks against your honey and slime blocks if you want a full wall right against the door you will have to use removable blocks but i recommend you build the wall one block out like so so then you don’t have to worry about placing immovable blocks absolutely everywhere unless that’s the design you Want to go for if you’re placing any blocks above just leave a one block gap and then if you’re placing in a wall alongside your piston door to you know create a nice wall on the inside again just make sure that you have immovable blocks where the piston door is actually Going to go and if you want a button on the other side of the door you just do the same thing that you’ve done here but you just do it on the other side it’s really really simple so you need to break a couple blocks here place a Redstone repeater then take a redstone line going all the way along linking up both sides of the door and then just have a button wherever you please but that pretty much concludes today’s redstone video i have had an absolute blast recording this i have not recorded any redstone content for quite some time And honestly i don’t know why i missed it it was good fun really really good fun to record this today and just doing giant piston doors is always fun it’s always a great way to get back into redstone i’ve not actually built any redstone contraptions for a few Months now also there will be a world download in the description so if you want to download this world and have a look at the piston door in person it will probably help you construct the actual thing then maybe you can play around and do some testing in this world Before you do it in your survival world so thank you all very much for watching i’ll catch you in the next one Video Information
