Oh man I sure am really high up right now it’s a good thing that there’s a slime block down there that I can land on in order to descend safely I should be fine I died if you’ve watched me long enough you’ll know that this is one of my All-time frustrations with Minecraft in fact I put it in a video called Eight problems that need to be fixed with Minecraft ow I thought I jumped on a slime block and that is that when you land on a slime block if you are off the edge in terms Of F3 even if you’re landing on the slime block and the only other thing you’re in contact with is air it will not bounce you and you will simply Splat you gotta be perfectly centered this is a 12 year old bug called mc1133 that number is in increasing Order starting at one for Minecraft bug reports for reference current day bugs their numbers are in like the upper 200 thousands but as of today’s snapshot it all changes I’d like to welcome you all to Minecraft 1.20 where I’m about to commit one small step for man and one Giant leap for Minecraft kind where I can land right on the edge of these slime blocks and I bounce 12 years it’s fixed but there are actually other implications because if you actually go and read the bug report you’ll notice that only one line out of many actually Has anything at all to do with slime blocks and the bug itself is far more General than that when the player stands at the very edge of a block so the center of the player is over the edge of the block the game calculates the actions of the player according to the Air block below the center of the player but not the block the player is actually standing on so then we can look over at another line jumping while standing on the edge of Farmland does not turn it into dirt that’s a bug and I think to myself but wait a minute Is this what I really wanted what have I sacrificed for the sake of the slime block working because if we come over here right I can’t go off to the edge of the Soul Sand anymore and actually Sprint normally now it keeps you slow all the way out as long as you are Standing on that Soul Sand block you can’t shift out to the edge and then do parkour a bit of a yikes moment for some Parkour maps out there oh yeah no we haven’t forgotten the magma block because um if we uh go all the way out to the edge Normally you know you could not have this happen it’s gonna potentially make some um parkour maps a little bit more difficult that were made before if you’re not playing them in their older versions and ouch ouch ouch yeah this is a big one over here um so previously you know if you were Standing on the edge of honey you’d be able to jump and do parkour I’ve been kneecapped that doesn’t happen anymore oh God what if we sacrificed so that the slime block would work properly um also I mean hey this is kind of nice when it comes to ice you can be on the Edge now and it’ll actually you know still apply the the speed boost to you so there are some other benefits aside from just the slime block but yeah overall as you can see more implications that I’m very happy about the slime block thing so if you do want to read Through the bug report feel free to do so I’ll link it down below but it’s fixed in 1.20 12 years later here we are I thought I had to report it thanks for watching make sure to like the video subscribe for more and I’ll see you next time Video Information
