Happy New Year! My name is Marilla, and welcome to 2022, the year we’re shutting down Minecraft! Or me. Can’t wait to find out which one! In the meantime, here’s ten things you probably didn’t know about Minecraft in 2021. [TEN] Some great things came to Minecraft in 2021, and one very bad thing. The circle. An endless loop of purest wrong. Circles go against everything we stand for. So I’d like to congratulate Youtuber Mysticat for putting them in our game anyway. A level of disrespect for Minecraft worthy of this show! Amazingly, Mysticat managed to do this without any mods. I’ve been constantly warned *not* to tell you to find a link in the description, click on it and watch that instead of the rest of my video. Bye! What will be the next blasphemous shape to be forced into Minecraft? Yeah… I don’t see us making it to 2023. [NINE] We released the Caves and Cliffs Update! We asked the developers if any glitches occurred while developing this update. Of the 10 billion and eight they submitted, here are some of our favorites. Minecraft’s witches must have dirt on one of the developers, as this glitch turned all the leaves in the trees into cauldrons. Can you imagine the worldwide scandal if we’d left this in the game? [Sigh] That website has caused us nothing but trouble. We’ll check back in with the development of Caves and Cliffs later. [EIGHT] Minecraft Dungeons turned one year old. And just like an actual one-year-old, Raising it’s been a bit of a nightmare! Here’s some top secret development glitches that I’m not allowed to show you! Here we see a slight issue with the windcaller, where they can potentially juggle you in the sky forever. Apart from having to watch a real juggler, I can’t really think of anything worse. These hoglins seem to have learnt how to fly. Just like I’m planning to fly to Canada to lie low for a while when the Minecraft Dungeons development team find out I leaked this. Still, we managed to iron out all those glitches, released tons of DLC, Switched to a Season model and even came out on Steam, just like a real game! Well done Minecraft Dungeons, I can’t wait for your terrible twos. Just kidding, I obviously don’t play it. Hrrr. Huh? Hrrmmmm. Hrmh. [SEVEN] This is Mobbo. But you knew that already, because out of all of our scripted show,s the only breakout star is the repulsive lava-spewing monster who never speaks. …None taken! While browsing the internet to research this episode, we discovered someone had built Mobbo! Let’s take a look. To show our appreciation, and in the interest of fairness, We asked Mobbo to build you. Oh good, this thing is more popular than me is it? That’s fine. Fine fine finey-fine fine. [SIX] 2021 introduced the axolotl, a mob so adorable it makes the baby pig look like, um, well, a pig. But making something cute isn’t always a pretty process. An early attempt at the axolotl accidentally came out like this. [GASP] Before we all judge this tragic mistake of nature, let’s remember, it’s what’s inside that counts. For example, if this horrible axolotl was inside the ocean, I’d delete Minecraft immediately. [FIVE] This year we launched a new show, The Secrets of Minecraft. It’s all about… actually I’ve got no idea. Never seen it, never will. Our new show got a rave review from PC Gamer. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to learn how to read, and find out how much they love me. [FOUR] Here we see our newfangled world generation tech causing a pillager outpost to spawn in the sea (hopefully to destroy that cursed axolotl from earlier). This glitch also led to shipwrecks spawning in the desert instead of the sea. Let’s take a look at a ship in the desert. Oh wait, we’re not using that in the show, that’s the wrong kind of ship. That’s a personal ship from my fan fiction folder that, um, actually let’s just move on. [THREE] Deepslate came to Minecraft this year and was just as deep and slatey as we promised. However, you may have noticed we changed its original name, Which was “grimstone”. We changed the name because the word “grim” is describing a feeling instead of describing what the block actually is. We don’t want to enforce feelings with our block names. How those non-sentient blocks are feeling should be up to player interpretation. That’s why we changed the name of this block too. [polite applause] [TWO] This is the new grove biome. We were having trouble getting trees to generate there, and we worried that eagle-eyed pedantic players might notice if something called a “grove” didn’t have any trees in it. But fret not, we fixed it. We filled the grove with trees… And more trees …growing on top of those trees. Oh trees, what have we ever done to you? Apart from developing a video game that encouraged people to punch you. [ONE] We’ve had a lot of fun looking at the glitches in Caves and Cliffs development today. Well, I’ve had fun. But honestly, we couldn’t be prouder of the work our developers did crafting this update in another really tough year to make games. So here’s to another year of Minecraft, and thank you, developers, for all your hard work. Forget nurses and firemen, you people are the *real* heroes. Is that a wrap? Oh brilliant, That should trick those naive developers into leaving me online for another yea- Video Information
