A brand new update just came out for Minecraft except it wasn’t one brand new update it was actually free there is the 1.19.80 Bedrock update now available alongside a brand new Java snapshot and a Brand’s new Bedrock preview this is really exciting news because it means we Have such a range of stuff available between the three we have a new set of music including this new disc we have a new way to farm sugarcane which is interesting and we also have a brand new Bedrock exclusive command I need to dive into each of these free updates but long Story short exciting things have just come to the game and we’re gonna start with the Bedrock new update 1.19.80 which you can see in the bottom right corner of your Minecraft menu most of the features in this update are the exciting 1.20 ones but they’re only available behind the experimental Features tab if you don’t know what this is when you create a new world on Bedrock you have an option in the experiments to now not only do this short sneaking and sneak number 1.5 block gaps but also to try out the next major update which means you can now do Fun things like experience a cherry blossom world so if you type in the seed from say my infinite Cherry Grove buying video and you have this experimental toggle enabled then you’ll now be able to see all of those cherry blossom trees on your world in that infinite position As well as this lovely batch right next to spawn but you’ll also be able to play around with other 1.20 features such as the skulk resonance and the calibrated skulk sensor I think these things look cool regardless of whether or not you understand them we also have the new uh Upgrades for the uh smithing templates so you’ll now be able to for example add silence trim to your armor whoa doesn’t this look crazy if you think the answer is no then I disagree with you so super super cool stuff happening here but also interestingly this is where the new Never right Nerf has been introduced so now if you want to intro you know add never right to your template you’re going to need to have this new smithing template at the bench so uh now yeah I do think it’s totally worth doing but it is worth saying that having the Experimental toggle on will allow you to access all sorts of new features at the same time as this you also get all sorts of new archeology things including these new Pottery shards they’ve not been renamed to Pottery shirts yet because this is an old version of 1.20 Um and uh yeah there are all sorts of new 1.20 features but it’s an older version you can mostly play around with but most people don’t play on worlds of experimental gameplay and so what do you have access to well if you’re a survival player it’s a few small features but Rarely fairly important ones in my opinion first of all they have changed the sounds of the weighted pressure plates this is pretty minor but now it matches Java here are the new noises do you like it they’re slightly different than they were before we also have melons and pumpkins being able to Grow mud as well as any of these blocks so that’s pretty cool having melons grow on mud I don’t know why I just kind of like the look of this it’s an easy way to differentiate between uh places blocks are meant to grow versus where they aren’t so that’s pretty nice but They’ve also changed the hitbox for the panda and for the polar bear supposedly this means the polar bear will no longer fit into a boat and I went out and got a polar bear but I I don’t see where he is now have I lost him is that him over Here no that’s a llama okay we lost the polar bear but we’re gonna try anyway what happens when you put a boat and you move it into the polar bear the answer is the polar bear no longer will come in the boat with you this is a very interesting change they’ve decided to Make supposedly for Java parody they have nerfed the op Bedrock boat and slightly brought together the two boats in parody there are so many other parody differences I’ve been talking about them banging on about them forever but it has to be said the boat is such a different Item between bedrock and Java it’s just slightly less different in this one way which is polar bears but you can still get charged Creepers on the boats I just really really am not going to recommend it if you care about your world but yeah as far as creative is concerned they Have changed the menu so that now nilium is no longer grouped together with nevrak and also interestingly all of the potions have had their colors changed and the Clint removed there is no glint on all of these now you can see how they look pretty relaxed I think uh this is a Really intriguing one personally a lot of people uh don’t like the enchantment glint removal but I think this looks pretty fine and great I I like it personally maybe I’d even go as far as to say um they’ve also made a whole host of bug Fixins update um I’ll just go Through I’ll scroll through them on screen again like usual but long story short most of these bugs won’t affect most players but some of them will so cooking chorus fruit in a furnace will now generate experience that’s pretty cool actually also uh pretty cool it has To be said is the fact that boats are changing so that mobs bigger than a boat will no longer fit in them which is where the polar bear thing comes from presumably partially so they’re they have made quite a few changes that will actually impact your game if you’re not Protecting them but the weirdest one is just well I have to check this out myself the weirdest one is to do with buttons so buttons uh Mangrove and dark oak were supposedly uh polish Blackstone as well were showing up on maps when they weren’t supposed to so I need to See what that was meant to look like and I’m just going to show you right now wow my buttons are not showing up on maps I mean this is a pretty weird map as it is uh if you if you’re curious uh we found some secret settings in Minecraft that Allow single biomes and and uh super flat wallets to be generated they’re they’re very very very bizarre things I’m definitely are gonna have to show you about this soon it’s very very odd to look at from a map also though just like how it’s odd to talk about the beta Which is the big star of the show this week because the 1.20.0.22 beta is available for Minecraft bedrock and although you can play around with all the features I just mentioned if you want to get a peek at 1.20 most players who are super curious about the update generally download the Patron previews they’re available for almost every Minecraft our platform and this new 1.20 beta is doing what the previous betas and snapshots are really focusing on at this point which is refining the 1.20 update so it gets close to release there’s not a huge number of snazzy new features but Instead they’re focusing on quality of life stuff so for example uh you can tempt a sniffer towards you using these torch flower seats that’s pretty cool in my opinion right you can also uh see the sniffers walk animation has been slightly improved although he’s following me so it’s pretty hard to see Wow isn’t that nice and you can also see they’ve decided to make some small changes to the game just for decent quality of life so for example when they added suspicious Sam and suspicious gravel to the game you might assume they work a lot like regular sand and regular Gravel but they don’t and so they need to make lots of changes not just to their loot table by the way now when you find these in the warm ocean biomes you can find some sniffer eggs there too but also as well as that you can grow bamboo And this is really nice being able to grow bamboo on suspicious sand and suspicious gravel as well as growing it on Moss but they also made a really interesting change to the way that sugarcane Works sugarcane has always been growable on Sand or dirt but now You can grow it on suspicious sand too but they also decided to do something quite interesting and make it growable on Moss which is incredible right moss-based sugar cane bombs is a really tiny change that most people won’t even notice or affect them but it immediately Puts gears in my head because it gets me thinking I need a sky-hite sugarcane farm and so you know what we have to do is test out what that would look like of course and so this is a sugarcane farm but the base is moss instead of grass Honestly uh when it’s kind of uh dark and hard to see which it always will be it’s a little bit weird but I think this looks way better I think Minecraft has just changed the sugarcane farming meta and I think it’s super super cool to see so yeah I absolutely love that change Personally I also love that apparently my I built a sniffer from sniffer eggs and all the sniff Rags are now hatching so I’ve got an army of baby sniffers here should we bring them all towards us oh look how cute these guys are but um yeah so we’ve got a bunch of sniffers The brand new mob from this big update um we’ve also got a bunch of changes they’ve made uh as we’ve mentioned uh there’s a lot of things in here that are interesting but I wanna before we talk about the last big one the new command And the new music by the way oh yeah that’s incredible um let’s uh let’s let’s dive into one more thing here which I feel like I have to mention because the sniffer egg is a really great idea I mean obviously being able to make sniffers out of sniff Rags Really nice by itself but the thing I just have to get off my chest here is why is it that the sniff rag because you know Minecraft has a fair few eggs at this point right we have sniffer eggs which are really wonderful and we’ve got these uh you know these uh obviously We’ve got turtle eggs and that’s really nice and we’ve got dragon eggs as well and a lot of people would be upset that like why is it that all of these eggs because you know if you look at them side by side you can see like okay Sniffer egg turtle egg and dragon egg like it’s kind of weird that both of these are square and this one isn’t this one looks on minecrafty it’s kind of weird you can’t place the regular egg down I mean it only functions as an item despite the fact that all of these other Ones work that way but why is it that out of these four eggs they all stack up to 64. besides the regular egg why is the max stack for the smallest one of these eggs the smallest I do not understand someone please explain this to me it is gonna drive me crazy just Like how this new music drives me crazy because they added uh some new tracks to the game you might have heard and uh actually I guess before we dive into that I think it’s really interesting there is a brand new command available but you need to enable experimental Cameras in the settings first you can enable all of these you probably won’t even notice it totally had to be totally honest of you but yeah if you enable all of this stuff or just the experimental cameras you’ll be able to notice something brand new so that is a new Setting that is only available in the preview so just a reminder that there are technically four versions of Minecraft Bedrock that are available at any given point in time there’s the base game without any uh modifications this is what most people play in the this case 1.19.80 then there’s the base game But with experimental features turned on this is an older version of 1.20 then there is the beta preview this is a newer version of 1.20 but then there are some features which are deemed too experimental even for a preview slash beta so these are hidden behind experimental and only inside that most Experimental of experimental editions can you find the slash camera command so the camera command can do lots of crazy stuff but basically it’s here to change the way the player’s camera looks this is probably designed for map makers so I’ll show you just the most basic Example I can do we’ll set the uh we’ll say fade the player’s camera to I don’t know what is uh well just one one no color in red blue and green and what will happen is the player’s camera will slowly Fade to White because I assume That’s all the way maxed on 111 whereas if we set it to one one two five five it would go all the way to Blue okay well apparently not if we set it to 255 255 will that change anything nope it’s just pure white so you can fade the player’s Camera to White which is really interesting in my opinion uh but what you could also do is you could set it to fade in in a number of seconds oh my God and then you could set it to fade for a certain number so I can set the player’s Camera to White for for 10 seconds and now it’s going to be black for that long this is why is this a command well uh you know that’s nice if you want people to live in pure Darkness you can do that yeah again this is mostly this To me seems like it’s a cinematic thing maybe I’m wrong but we could also set it to oh we could set it to we can change the player’s camera perspective so we can set the player’s camera perspective to third person using commands whoa that is crazy and then from there you Could even set it as the default you can you can set the position if you want to so I could set it for like okay so there are clearly a lot of powerful things here you can clear old commands if you want to you can set a fade on the screen For a certain number of seconds you can set the player to look in a particular example what does example three mean whoa you can tell people to look at a particular place for some time look at my camera I’m staring at a ladder now in The middle of the ground and then I have to I’m presumably gonna have to set that back if I want uh but yeah the fact that you can set players cameras is something that maps have been doing in weird janky ways for a while but Minecraft will Allow you to take advantage of this basically they’re encouraging like Adventure and exploration maps to be able to do this giving more powerful commands to creators for let’s be honest Marketplace reasons is something that Minecraft has been working on for a while and that is something they’ve done However most players are never going to interact with that but they will interact with the new new music in 1.20 so there are new advancements for Java interestingly here they are on screen those are going to change the oil advancement Speed Run and make it significantly harder in my opinion so That’ll be interesting if you care about Niche speedruns but if you don’t you might care about the new splashes or more importantly the new music I love Minecraft music I’m a bit of an Aficionado and so I decided to record my first reaction to each of those tracks I really like this this is really old school Minecraft it feels like a little bit better than but very similar to Alpha and beta tracks you know it’s giving you that feeling of being in a familiar Place perhaps a familiar room I’m not in a familiar room I’m in America for the last time but still uh the second song is called bromeliad and so uh probably not so familiar feeling well actually same Vibes on the piano here it’s not ready for me so far it’s not quite hitting that Minecraft spot oh as the song goes on it’s like Building up though like we’re we’re two minutes in and you can see it’s starting to add a bit of complexity to it yeah feels like I’m going on an archaeological trip right I’m in the desert I got my hat on I’m doing great over here oh there we go bromeliads This honestly I like this a lot but it doesn’t feel I hate this criticism but it doesn’t feel Minecrafting to me yet it you know a familiar room was hitting the spot this is this is good there’s a different different type of good to what I’m used to but new Composer let’s see what Crescent Dunes does this is probably much more meant for the deserty archaeological feeling but let’s see What am I listening to this is the weirdest song with 33 seconds in and I can’t even tell you for sure that this is a Minecraft track and I’m not accidentally listening to something random oh yeah this is what I’m talking about playing some bones I’m a little torn on this one This could ground me over time or it could become like that 1.19 song on the menu where I dread hearing it and it gives me like like you know this like pain because I’ve heard it too many times but it’s nice they’re doing something a little bit different with The Minecraft stuff and so now the final song for the batch is echo in the wind this is the last one that ambiently plays and so the last one added to the 1.20 bed set beta this one is much more relaxed I like that there’s big pauses opportunities to reflect what Minecraft Music does best yeah this one is super relaxed but it’s building it’s nice there’s complexity to this song but it stays nice and simple it feels like that old school Minecraft you’re in a rainy tiger forest you’ve just found your first wolf you’re excited about what you’re gonna build Tomorrow it has all these feelings in it which is good I think uh the thing that this set of tracks is doing that clearly they hadn’t done before is they’re trying to get you know like these C418 Vibes it’s very interesting they decided to use a different composer for that but Yeah honestly big fan of the music in this uh soundtrack there’s one song which didn’t release in the 1.20 beta but which is available in the 1.20 snapshot called Relic this is a music disc and I guess we’ll have to jump over to Java to see this and so we come right Back full circle to the Java Edition and I do have to say uh that 1.20 is a little bit of a complicated update to follow sometimes I feel like Minecraft updates as a whole like being split between Bedrock Java uh it is something that can be complicated but hopefully This video has been something that simplifies that for you uh this new disc is currently only on Java which is why we’re checking out there but it will of course later be available on bedrock and so let’s throw the disc in there I made a note blocks not a jukebox that was a That was a mistake let’s pretend I didn’t make that mistake and let’s go ahead and play Aaron Sheriff Relic oh no did they make it oh whoa Oh thank you I totally forgot that you could pause on Java I just wanted you to see my vibes as we got along with this It’s real good feels like the music to a really cool indie game from that’s pretending to be a 16-bit game it’s nice it’s real nice very confusing though it doesn’t quite mesh of the rest of the discs is that okay honestly if Minecraft wants to enter a new era in terms with music That’s okay with me I do think it’s interesting that we have another another composer though given that Minecraft has already went from having one then they went to having two and then to three to now have a fourth one I wonder why they didn’t get Lena rain package again I I’ve mentioned many times before does a really great job pick step is universally loved but I do have to say I like this disc too but you know I like video game music um I’m sure it could literally be the warden sniffing over and over again they’d say well it’s got Some redeemable factors but yeah this is the brand new disc has not been revealed exactly where you’ll find Aaron Sheriff’s Relic uh but it is a really exciting thing coming in 1.20 alongside the rest of this I hope you enjoyed this update news video uh we always do our Best to get you the news as soon as you can hopefully covering free updates in in one video something you did enjoy
