Hello everybody and welcome back to another day and Tuesday edition of 30 NSG on today’s show we’re going to be talking about three different topics we do this Monday through Thursday from 10 o’clock news story day so I had to kind of like try to look up a bunch of information about Marvel games we’re gonna look at the totals what the last couple games have sold over the last you know five years six years of Marvel games that have come out besides Spider-Man doing well uh all the other ones that didn’t do so well uh we’re gonna talk about the new Minecraft DLC is fully voiced D Adventure which is pretty cool so those of you that are looking for another d d Adventure lots Of d d this year role-playing games for those people uh it’s another uh just another one for you and then we’re going to talk about CD projekt Red Dev defends Starfield uh amidst criticism that the character animations don’t match up to cyberpunk 2077. so those are the three topics We’re going to go over today if you like like I said like what we do here please make sure you hit that like button it helps us out all right so let’s start off with marble all right we’ll start off with Marvel what’s going on Travis what’s going on Uh Z what’s going on boss Jesse Mack Dave Rose good morning good morning so the first story is Marvel wants their games to live up to full potential we’re poorly looking to internal shift going forward now they’ve probably already did the shift I would assume right we have Obviously we have Spider-Man 2 coming out we’re on the doorstep of Spider-Man 2. we have Wolverine coming out sometime of year next year or 2025. we have the Black Panther game coming out we have the Iron Man game coming out we have the Captain America Black Panther game Coming out lots of more Marvel games coming out uh in the future but before all those games come out leading up to what it is what Marvel has done besides the 15 years in the movie industry Marvel has done really good when they first did Robert Downey Jr in Uh you know 2008 all the way up to end game since then they’ve been rough uh like or hate the films they just haven’t made as much money as the past movies have and you can chalk that up to the pandemic that happened you can chalk it Up to bad writing whatever it is the facts are they’re not making as much money uh and they’re spending a lot more money on the things so here we are with the Marvel video games and the report says that Marvel Avengers uh video game developed by Square Enix Clearly didn’t live up to either the fans expectations or the Marvel’s internal expectations there therefore it comes to no one’s surprise to hear that the popular entertainment company feels that the range of games has not been reaching its full potential the team of Marvel is apparently looking at a large Internal shift regarding on how the games are developed and they are reportedly believed that this shift will happen in with EA’s upcoming Black Panther and Iron Man video games we’ll have to wait and see how they turn out now uh can we get some toast uh on on Twitter or x uh says Marvel is painfully aware of how the video games division hasn’t been reaching its potential overall they have been Whispers of the internal shift of Marvel to focus on games like the new EA Black Panther game in the Iron Man games and we’ll start to push for something Big now he goes here and says that Marvel Avengers obviously just shut down yesterday or a couple days ago Marvel’s Midnight Sun wasn’t a commercial flop okay regardless if you liked it or not it just didn’t sell well uh Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy also was a commercial flop even though it’s Actually a pretty good game I dabbled in it didn’t play it all the way we have to go back and play it uh Marvel’s heroes Omega obviously got shut down Marvel’s Avengers Academy which was that new MMO That was supposed to come up more cartoony that shutdown Marvel realm of Champions that shut down and Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance one and two d-listed and three didn’t sell very well on the Nintendo switch there’s lots of other little stories here so what I want to go over is I I kind of looked up all the information right and These are all the things that you can see just in the 20s in the in the 2020s uh what they what they uh what they came out with right so since the uh since the 2020s but where the hell is it here we go 2020s okay we got Marvel duel which was a You know netty’s mobile game we have Iron Man VR which obviously VR is not going to sell very well we have Marvel’s Avengers which uh by the by the looks of it Marvel’s Avengers sold roughly about three million games now the budget again roughly was about a hundred million dollars okay 100 million Dollars it sold three million copies this is minus the the micro transactions sold roughly if it sold 60 at three million copies it’s 180 million dollars so roughly they made a couple maybe a couple uh millions of dollars but it was a commercial flop as well right then we have Marvel uh Spider-Man Miles Morales now I know the game itself I enjoyed it I loved it but it didn’t do very good so much so that they have to include the number of Miles Morales into the number of Spider-Man uh one when they combined it with the remaster and a Total of 33 million copies but if you look farther into it that Spider-Man Miles Morales okay actually sold 70 less copies than Spider-Man 2018’s the original Spider-Man right one Spider-Man Miles Morales is not as popular as Peter Parker this is actual facts you know and I’m just reading the news so When it came out it said according to Super data Spider-Man’s Miles Morales only sold 663 000 digital copies digital copies okay despite releasing on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at 70 reduction in sales from the original Spider-Man in 2018 now Spider-Man moved an estimated 2.2 million digital copies on top of the 6 million total copies right so out of the six million copies that were or I’m sorry was it six million was 3.3 it was 3.3 million right away it was 5 million after like the first like three months and then it went on to sell uh 33 Million copies but minus the 6 million or 7 million that Miles Morales did overall and they just threw that into the total of the 33 000. I’m sorry 33 million uh so Miles Morales not to say it was a flop in any way shape or form It made its money back it did very well but not as well as the first Spider-Man did right then you have then you have Marvel future Revolution total sales okay obviously this is a mobile game they don’t tell you what it actually sold because it was a free Download okay but the official worldwide uh on August 21st Marvel future Revolution generated approximately 50 million downloads and over 30 million in Revenue that sounds really impressive but the game is no longer it’s done right so that didn’t do very well for them if it did they would have continued To move on with it but they strike while the iron’s hot make the money that they can and then they shut the thing down as fast as possible Guardians of Galaxy game totals in February of 2022 Square Enix stated that despite the strong reviews and the game had fell failed to Meet the sales Expectations by November of 2022 the game had attracted more than 8 million players but they don’t tell you the actual sales of the game eight million players you gotta remember that it also went on PlayStation Plus extra and Game Pass subscription services so How many people did it sell 2 million copies did it sell 3 million copies did it even sell as many as Marvel’s Avengers I don’t think it did because Marvel’s Avengers technically ruined basically all Marvel games at that point because the way they dished it out as a live service game okay So then we have Marvel snap Marvel snap tops 100 million in Mobile Revenue okay Marvel snap reaches 100 million in Revenue over the weekend and the US number uh uh number one country by Revenue with 62.1 million dollars okay uh mobile games Marvel snap has reached 50 million users when it when it first came out made over a hundred million dollars so the mobile game doing well for them another game that came out that was supposed to be a huge hit for them was Marvel’s midnight Sons right the steam charts back in the day said steam was 428 active players 42 minutes ago okay 664 is this is this uh let me see how accurate this is uh released on December 1st been on sale yeah we have a diminishing yeah there’s 600 495 people as of today okay for uh Marvel’s midnight Suns okay but this was also another commercial Flop for them this didn’t sell very well this sold less than Marvel’s Avengers which we do know sold around 3 million copies okay and then obviously we have the new Spider-Man 2 coming out okay so lots of lots of down downturn for marble right they just didn’t hit the What they wanted to do but here’s here’s the the good outcome right maybe these last three four years five years uh they’ve learned that a lot of their games they’re coming out with are not at the top level that they wanted it to be okay but now we have Marvel Spider-Man 2 Coming out then we have Marvel’s Wolverine coming out which is all made by Insomniac and they’re also only for PlayStation 5 at this point now the Untitled Captain America Black Panther game that’s coming out that we know sounds interesting uh where you’ll be able to switch between the characters we Have the Untitled Iron Man game and the Untitled Black Panther game and then there’s supposedly another Marvel’s game it’s supposed to be a multiplayer um Marvel’s game from whoever we don’t really actually know yet but Ken Marvel the gaming company uh turn it around can These games and we had a little bit of a conversation yesterday kind of foreshadowing what we’re talking about today didn’t know this was coming uh today but we bring it up and chat all the time uh Iron Man Iron Man uh coming out and uh Black Panther coming out and Captain America coming out and someone said what about a daredevil game what about a moon night game what about a pub uh you know Punisher game and it’s like Julie really want all of these games out all at the same time because yes they’re all different characters but they’re all Comic book characters and yes the comic book fan base we’ll pick it up two three five million people might pick it up now Spider-Man is on a different level Spider-Man is one of the most famous characters I’m sorry not one of the famous characters he is the most famous Character on the planet as far as Marvel goes okay it shows when he’s at the box office and makes almost two billion dollars the box office uh when Miles Morales uh you know the the Animated Series it did very well right like Spider-Man just sells but now if you Have an Iron Man game and you have a Hulk game and you have a Captain America game and you have a Black Panther game it’s it’s bare bone the same it’s the same thing you’re doing the exact same thing you’re a Hero trying to save the world insert Story here so is that something that would sell would they saturate the market and would they hurt themselves by doing it or do they do what they’re doing now and have these very different type of games again we don’t know what Marvel’s Wolverine is going to Look like where we can picture like okay it might be like Spider-Man it might be like Batman Arkham a little bit okay like what does it look like is it first person is it third person is it you know uh is it you know an action adventure we Know what wolverine is but right are these games gonna be action adventure games they’re gonna take risks like they did with Marvel’s uh midnight Suns they have to differentiate themselves and they can’t just keep pumping out like God of War style type of games with just insert character here because then It would get over saturated big time uh for Marvel and regardless if it’s a good game or not people be like eh insert hero here okay let me see what you guys are saying in chat here let me see what you guys are saying in chat Uh length doesn’t matter to a good game or not it’s a perfect playing the type of game where you guys are talking about the chat there uh the first Spider-Man game was about as long as it won uh my favorite games of all time I love Spider-Man Spider-Man I thought was like Was it 20 hours I think it was like 20 hours I think it was like Perfect Right 20 hours to complete the campaign I think it was actually less than that what was what was Spider-Man what was Spider-Man’s game length with the DLC and stuff reports of the game is around sorry That’s Spider-Man 2. uh we’re about one I just want one with the DLCs yeah main story 17 and a half hours main story is 29 and a half hours completionist is 43 and a half yeah I think it’s fine I think the 17 and a half Marvel’s Avengers the game Itself was like 15 hours by just the main campaign 12-15 and then if you got the DLCs and played all the things it came out to around 20 25 hours I think that’s a good a good length for games like that let’s see uh let’s see Marvel’s Avengers Had a lot a lot of hype though yeah Marvel’s Avengers had a lot of hype but then it it hit a wall hit a wall midnight Suns was amazing but people couldn’t get around the card based gameplay because it required brain power uh likes in which Gamers nowadays don’t Have a lot of people just don’t like card games in in that in that format though Travis otherwise uh you know other games that have cards will be popular but they’re not but here’s here’s the funny part right people make fun of that Marvel’s of midnight Suns had card and no one Likes it but meanwhile people play snap and there’s millions and millions of people tens of millions of people that play Marvel snap you me both boss open Marvel’s Avengers is gonna go DC Universe Online was rumored yeah yeah I’m not expecting Spider-Man 2 to be a Hundred hours on an RPG yeah no it’s only supposed to be 30 hours I think is what they said which would be on par with with the first game right so where I said Spider-Man 2 doesn’t need to be a hundred hours but the first Game was rough uh 15 to 20 hours to do the main quest they doubled the map size kept the campaign the same length should have should have at least been 30 or so hours for just the main story though I don’t understand the problem you guys are taking uh The topic that we’re doing and you’re taking someone else’s topic and talking about the game length I want a new Deadpool game or a whole game similar to the ultimate destruction did you ever play the the last uh Deadpool game Rose it was fun it was fun Come on Chris as long as the story is good the gameplay is solid I’m down that Spider-Man does good and others uh others flop yeah 17 hours yeah we looked it up they need to focus on good story people can lie and say that the uh it’s about Action but the re the reason Comics uh did so well all these years is because of good stories 100 Travis and this is why I always say when a comic book game comes out especially a live service game this is why I was so adamant about Marvel’s Avengers needs to put more Stories in stop with the Cosmetics stop with all that all they had to do for Marvel’s Avengers was release a DLC like a comic book like literally a comic book it it literally writes itself what they had they had the perfect rendition of what to do you had the main Story of Marvel’s Avengers about the the whole uh event that happened okay you had Kamala Khan’s story with all the other characters there and then you could have brought Cape Bishop in and did the story with her just the Standalone story didn’t need to connect to anything it was just Kate Bishop’s story Hawkeye’s story make them combine then right then do Black Panther’s story then bring in Thor’s story then bring in Black Widow’s story right they could have just kept giving you stuff and the best part about it is if you’re a person that doesn’t give a about Thor or about Hulk you wouldn’t buy that DLC you would just keep playing the game that you’re playing right but if you liked Hulk then you would get the DLC for Hulk or you get the DLC for Thor or you get the DLC for Captain America the fact that they completely ruined This because they were like well go sell Cosmetics is is mind-boggling to me mind-boggling I did from High Moon Studios it was just okay gameplay wise any other character in Deadpool though it was just a fun little game though you know what I mean and what I’m saying by that like that’s What you’re gonna get with a lot of these games like the whole game that came out the Deadpool game it came out the Thor game it came out the Captain America game came out they all kind of just kind of kind of sell well because at the end of the day Boss said the other day you you want you wanna you want a whole experience or a Punisher experience just put a Mod into Grand Theft Auto and run around the city as The Punisher run around the city is the Hulk you know what I mean that’s that’s basically it Right it’s about story story story story it doesn’t matter about the the actual hero itself if you give a good story like Travis said then those then those games will sell if you compare Spider-Man to a game like Starfield uh you’re more the Sheep than an actual gamer because those two games Are nothing alike right didn’t they have a card game in The Witcher that people enjoyed same with the uh with the mini game and AC Valhalla yet so much so they literally made a separate game for The Witcher made it a standalone card game April says rumors of the dev Studio who Made uh lollipop chainsaws are working on the new Deadpool game oh that’d be interesting Reese says they could have taken any of one of those previous comic book special events like fear itself or dark Avengers yeah it’s it’s amazing you could have done so many different things Um in the video game space for for Marvel’s Avengers Marvel’s Avengers wasn’t in my opinion shouldn’t have been what it was they they shoved a microtransaction filled game to sell you know skins and all they had to do was take that game and just literally just expand and and When you’re a kid man you’re reading the comic books you’re like you’re like I want to live in this world right and then you watch those TV shows you watch movies and you’re fantasizing like that’s what it would be in a video game you get to be those characters and they completely screwed It completely screwed it that content could have kept coming and coming for years and years and years they could have they could have sold a DLC pack of of core stories hero um what was the what was the uh main stories in Marvel’s Avengers it’s been so long now Um heroic was it the heroic heroic stories I think they were called something like that right you could have easily easily brought in like okay this DLC is gonna have more story for Thor Hulk and Captain America Next story’s got Tony Black Widow and and Kate right just Small little story so you felt like as a customer you’re like oh I’m paying 20 15 for this DLC It’s gotta have some sort of substance Miles Morales was just uh too much like Spider-Man one and should have taken a break in between well the problem silent That they won’t admit right but if you played Spider-Man 1 right if you played Spider-Man 1 which I absolutely loved and then I got all the DLC for Spider-Man okay which is another perfect thing to do it was a game like that okay miles was supposed to be a DLC But because of the time frame of where it was they’re like we don’t have games for the brand new system coming out why don’t we take miles and make it a standalone game that’s why they only made it 50 bucks it was supposed to be 40 but then you Raised the price and they made it 50 right and they’re like let’s sell it for the PlayStation 5. okay to have something over there then they said well let’s package Spider-Man one with Miles and sell it for seventy dollars and then push that for the PlayStation five miles I don’t want to say was a DLC but that’s that’s basically what it was supposed to be you can tell by the story through that through the through the gameplay of Spider-Man 1 through all the DLCs to play talking to Miles you were supposed to have miles as a DLC and then I think it was supposed to be Spider-Man 2 but they had to fill in the Gap and they’re like why don’t we take this DLC add more to it which was a good story I like miles story but it is it’s a little samey to what Spider-Man is right I think I think it would have done better if they just did you know I think this one’s gonna sell better than the first one right Spider-Man 2 I think is gonna sell better in the first one I’ve said it already right the first one sold 3.3 I think this was gonna sell like 4.2 4.5 maybe 5 mil when it comes out which is huge especially for the player base of only 40 41 million uh PlayStation 5 right so I think Spider-Man 2 is going to do very well but I think Miles Morales was Kind of just shoved in there to kind of get games on the PlayStation 5 when they were selling the system when it came out never played miles but it’s a PlayStation Plus should I play it just as fun Spider-Man it’s it’s just as fun the story I found it boss um I found it like it was it was fantastic I thought the story but it’s too a little too samey right there’s a there’s a couple of moments in the game that you’re like oh this is cool but you’re just like yeah it’s just more of Spider-Man right you don’t have to play It but it’s it’s worth the it’s worth it if you if you can play it on the PlayStation Plus uh oh yeah it’s a fantastic game it’s not as long as Spider-Man but it’s still it’s still a little great game I say a little great game it’s still a Full it’s a it’s a full-fledged game it’s a great game it’s a great game exactly water it wasn’t miles but miles was actually more of a DLC than a full game but but when you say DLC people get offended by it they’re like Spider-Man Miles Morales wasn’t DLC it’s like but It was but it was it was a it was a game that was supposed to be ldlc and then they added more to it to get more substance out of it Thor says I just didn’t like miles as much as Spider-Man yeah a lot of the things during the game Obviously because he has more powers and I never read the comic books of Miles Morales right so I met him while we watched the movie Inside the you know the Animated Series type of thing I didn’t really know much about him I didn’t know he could go invisible and do The electricity but the way it happens in the game it’s like it’s convenient it’s like plot armor right it’s like he’s stuck in the thing people are about to find him he’s like how do I get out of here and then all of a sudden because he gets nervous He goes invisible he’s like what I can go invisible and it’s like all right plot armor okay like little things like that again this is coming from someone that didn’t read the comics and stuff of Miles um not saying he’s a bad character in any Way shape or form it’s just kind of like okay cool no such thing as too much Spider-Man now there’s there’s a such thing as too much of anything right you can you can love pizza eat too much pizza you get sick of pizza right yeah it’s not a very I would say it’s About six to eight hours yeah seven and a half hours main story is seven and a half mean and extra is 12 hours uh completionist is eighteen to tell me that Miles Morales is not a DLC at seven and a half hours where the full game was 20. Do you know what I mean almost 30. yeah to to tell me that is ridiculous the the original game right the the original game is like 17 hours to 20 hours miles is seven and a half hours they’re like no it’s not a DLC okay I gotcha besides okay so besides Spider-Man and Besides you know well Miles Morales didn’t sell bro it just didn’t that’s why they add that number into Spider-Man Okay Spider-Man is the only game to really sell well that marble underneath the name of Marvel Spider-Man game is the only one to go well above and beyond Game sales all the other things that we brought up okay all the other things we brought up as far as Iron Man VR Marvel’s Avengers Marvel’s realm of Champions Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales Marvel’s future Revolution Marvel’s Guardians the Galaxy uh Marvel’s midnight Suns all of them Blob as far as financial success of what they should have sold and what they did sell okay now the games that people like Spider-Man Miles Morales sold you know decently and it was a good it was a great game okay Marvel future Revolution it’s actually a really fun mobile game Okay Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was a really phenomenal game but because of Marvel’s Avengers everyone didn’t trust Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and they also didn’t like it because the Guardians didn’t look like the movie counterparts okay and then there’s Marvel’s midnight Suns right because of the card system so The other ones future Revolution Marvel snap and realm of Champions are all mobile games and they get a ton of people to play them or download them but they don’t make a lot of like sales of continuous things right now obviously snap is one of the most popular uh Mobile games out there but that’s not a game you know what I’m saying that’s that’s not a video game as far as we’re talking about you know like an Assassin’s Creed like a god of war it’s just a card game it’s a fun video game but it’s not a game that We’re talking about double a triple A games that are sold and very popular like a Spider-Man 2 Wolverine Captain America coming out so going to the Future now I think Marvel has made the change seeing all the other things that are happening with the past games they have now with Spider-Man 2 Coming out now with Will assamiac working on Wolverine as well the Captain America Black Panther game I don’t know what that’s going to be maybe it’s going to be sort of like what you’re doing with Marvel Spider-Man 2 and you’re swapping between Black Panther and Captain America I know they Said there was like four playerable characters in the game you’re gonna be black panther gonna be Captain America and there’s like two other soldiers or what that you can be right Iron Man they have to nail this Iron Man has to be nailed as far as the flying mechanic if They do if EA does anything less than what they did for anthem’s flying mechanics it’s a loss okay and then Black Panther they they’ve got to nail black panther with with these move sets and whatnot right just as obviously it’s EA making the game and not Insomniac but the way Insomniac captured Spider-Man okay and making it feel like when you first saw Spider-Man before anyone played it we looked at it and went oh man it feels like Batman Arkham right but Arkham feels more weighted like behind his hits where Spider-Man is more finesse and whatnot black panther is that mixture of Both you know I mean it’s the Finesse of Spider-Man but also with the brute uh brute force of like Batman type of stuff and hopefully EA can really capture uh what black panther is uh it’ll be interesting to see what going forward about Marvel uh what they do with the with these games Let me see uh what you guys are saying did you ever play Uncharted the Lost Legacy same thing it did well but not as good because it was Nathan Drake I never I never played the uh the Lost Legacy probably gonna go do another uh playthrough of Spider-Man and Mile and Uh Miles Morales on the 18th and 19th Get Hype for Spider-Man 2. against Spider-Man 2 uh my nephew wish uh Spider-Man 1 was also on PlayStation Plus wait they didn’t put Spider-Man 1 on PlayStation Plus yet that’s that’s a little weird isn’t it Spider-Man the 2018 is not on PlayStation Plus yet It sells too good still selling right that that that speaks volumes right there to be honest with you right it shows you that people are not interested in Miles Morales it was on plus but it’s not there anymore well they probably took it off because they know that people are gonna get Hyped and play the first one to get the second one I guess I guarantee you you don’t need to play miles to get the the gist of the second one because he says I’m very worried about EA doing Iron Man what are you worried about them doing Iron Man do you think They’re gonna um what’s it called microtransaction it people always forget that black panther is both Tech and Magic based sure but he’s still Brute Force and finesse I have no doubt that EA will nail the single player action adventure game see Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Outcast uh for example well Responded that not EA right Electronic Arts Electronic Arts is the publisher but who’s making right do we know who’s making the Iron Man game motive all right let me look up uh what did they make before motive game Studio okay so they made Dead Space okay they made Dead Space Star Wars squat no well they didn’t pass projects they worked on squadrons they worked on Battlefront 2. what else did they make they did a dead space remake so they haven’t done anything major well hopefully they can make a name for themselves Dead Space remake was their debut Yeah but that’s not really a debut that’s just their sort of like hey do this but it’s it’s like being an understudy it’s like being an understudy in a play right when it’s your time to shine you’re just you’re just taking the part I mean we saw that EA did Anthem All Things Considered I don’t think Anthem in terms of gameplay was far from what an Iron Man game would play like true I would hope though they would keep that same technology as far as a flying mechanics because that’s something that Anthem did get well right they got the flying game aspect really well It’s considered a contender for game of the year because unlike Resident Evil 4 remake they actually change stuff um Dead Space remake will not get nominated so consider Contender a contender is the people that make it into the top six that’s the contender to be game of the year You’re not a container to be a uh to be nominated well Dead Space remake was almost a complete rehaul and the new game uh even added new side missions of the original game sure but 80 of the game was already created they’ve they’re just taking a game like The blueprint’s already made for them they didn’t come up with it originally so any kind of remake there’s something to pull from you’re not making a game from scratch you’re taking a game that’s already made already has a fan base already has a bunch of stuff sure you Can make a a a new Mission and stuff like that I’m not saying that what I’m saying is it’s a remake meaning the studio literally already had something to base their game off of and to model everything after and do all that stuff hmm motive did NFS what’s uh Need for Speed Is that what you’re saying what’s wrong with that not everything has to be new sometimes it’s uh it’s enough to take good to make better did it make it better all I’m saying is they haven’t made anything original is what I’m saying if EA wants to make Iron Man game they Need to do a lot of research and homework being as an Iron Man and Tony Stark hmm I love how you always pick games Travis that mean absolutely nothing to the other thing like well Dead Space remake greater than Starfield trash better than Eldon ring trash it’s so it’s so ridiculous the Comparisons that you make I don’t know how about compare Dead Space remake to the crossover in the interest In both d d and Minecraft provide a space to be creative now social and joy freedom of play so the collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and everbloom games seems a natural fit in the DLC you can choose from four classes Barbarian Paladin Rogue and wizard through obviously a limited section of Next to the tabletop game you’ll be able to specialize by allocating stat points uh wherever you prefer you’ll be looting upgrading monsters slaying and of course rolling a lot of dice now seeing some of the d d classic monsters and iconic Minecraft Styles alone worth the price Of Entry blocking mimic uh mind flares and beholders uh yes please he says Uh there’s also familiar setting we’ll also go to kick from experiencing some of the known areas like candle keep no new D and D or D D there’s got to be no DLC for that game going moving forward Not a Minecraft guy but I love d d i mean the name it looks like a blast getting friends my kids is going to be going to be awesome yeah I think I think this is a good Sergeant always calls like Dungeons um uh Minecraft dungeons is that like that baby Baby Dungeon Crawler type of game and now now you’re taking this and you’re bringing D into the realm uh and I think it’s smart right I think it’s instead of trying to make a Minecraft D they just bring D into Minecraft like this is a smart A smart Business sense for them especially with the amount of people that play Minecraft yeah I think it’s just a factor of me getting older and getting grumpy I can see that I understand that 100 percent we were late with that with that notion I wish we knew people that played DNE I Never got into playing it’s fun it’s fun boss and you know what’s funny though it’s much different now than it was in the past in the past doing that the fantasy of of building the Dungeons and having a dungeon master and doing all that stuff because video Games weren’t at the point that they are today now you can literally like have that DND experience without ever like you’re playing d d with Baldur’s Gate right Boulder’s Gate three is literally that that thing that we imagined we were doing in the past but now you can do it On the on the PC and it looks it looks amazing because he Max says the new d d movie was very good and Minecraft a good way for players I like the new d d movie I watched on the on my vacation over the summer When I was on the airplane I thought it was great I thought it was I thought exactly what it was it was just it was just a fun it was just a fun movie it reminded me a little bit of the old d d dungeon and Dragons cartoon back in the 80s Thought the d d movie was pretty good yeah I thought it was good you ever watch the cheesy the cheesy old uh cartoon to play you still need to have an imagination if you’re too practical or don’t have the imagination any longer d d isn’t for you right right Oh do they have it on Netflix Jessie Mack do they they have the old school no are you saying the new d d movie you’re saying the new you’re saying the new movie I can’t look it up right now this was this this was the the old the old cartoon I used to love this cartoon this this was a great this was a great little cartoon back in the day love the art style back then too no the one with Chris Pine Abu yeah this this is a great great show response I I absolutely loved that d d cartoon It’s like cheesy you know it was like cheesy but fun absolutely loved it all right the third story is CD projekt Red Dev defends Starfield amidst criticism that the character animations don’t match up as cyberpunk 2077. now they have massively vastly more scenes and revolving cast of characters and mind-boggling number of possible Locations okay a veteran developer of city project red has leaped into starfield’s defense I mean it’s criticism the game’s character animations now cyberpunk 2077 launched back in 2020 it was nothing short of disastrous but after numerous updates and overhauls over the base game and the ambitious uh Phantom Liberty Expansion TV project red has as uh spectacularly turned things around so impressed are the fans of cyberpunk 2077 in fact they wish Starfield would take that leap out of its book okay or take a leap out of its book now on Twitter a user since potato wrote as much as I Love or I as I like Starfield creation engine needs to go going back to cyberpunk uh puts a perspective that just as outdated Starfield dialogue animations are and it’s staggering Starfield does not uh does not have body animations in dialogue aside from basic turns and occasional generic hand Gestures and I’ve been really feeling more and more critical of Starfield after going back to cyberpunk with the cons the constant load screens awful dialogue camera and lackluster animations now uh this prompted response from the CD projekt read senior Quest designer Patrick K Mills who argued that way both Games handle cinematics and animations is more down to the tools and design than the engine they are built on he says Mills points out that the focus of Starfield is more offering a tremendous amount of freedom and Mammoth scale that uh they they do some scenes that are staggered in more uh refined Ways like meeting uh constellations for the first time some quests Etc he says but they have vastly more scenes with revolving cast of characters and mind-boggling number of possible locations okay he says he also points out that each of the cyberpunk 2077 major scenes took years to put together which just Wouldn’t be feasible in a game as huge as star field instead of Bethesda game studios puts their resources into giving maximum levels of players Freedom they just uh doing something different with their time and that’s cool you can also uh want their scenes to be more cinematic or whatever and that’s fair But it comes at a cost uh this isn’t the first time Mills has come to starfield’s defense last month the developer responded to a video comparing the the game to cyberpunk 2077 implementing uh implying that the lack of level and detail realism found in city project Red’s offering Mills hasn’t uh wasn’t Having any of it and described the fake criticism and actively harmful yeah so people looking at at these two games like this sure I mean you you could compare an apple to a banana they’re both fruits these are both video games they’re both on completely separate different engines okay I love How people are like well the you know the creation engine has to go right the creation engine has to go because that’s what’s holding back star field but starfield’s not being held back the creation engines has actually evolved uh from what it was in you know Morrowind Oblivion Skyrim Fallout 3 Fallout 4 Fallout 76 and now what Starfield is and everything that Bethesda has done over the years with all the games they’ve created they have raised the bar in their Studio about what they’re doing with games nobody with a with two brain cells between their two eyes Okay can look at Star field and compared to other Bethesda games and go no they’ve never they didn’t make anything better okay because obviously they did they made everything better now if you take Starfield and go well they’re behind the time of God of War and they’re behind the time of right hell EA with Star Wars Battlefront 2 with the with the photo realism blows most games out of the water today and that’s a game that’s just a first person shooter game okay first person slash third person shooter game and it looks mind-boggling years and decades ahead of most games that come out today But no one’s comparing that right Star Wars Battlefront one looks a thousand times better than cyberpunk okay and that’s back from 2015 but no one’s comparing that because no one would okay because they’re using a completely different engine they’re using a completely different texture and everything that they’ve done with the Design so to compare one game to the other because they’re both RPGs it’s kind of weird but I totally get it right you look at cyberpunk and go oh man I wish Starfield would do this but this is just fantasy this is like saying I wish that this person was dating this person Or I could go play this game with this character it’s all it’s all made up in your own head okay like Starfield is Leaps and Bounds ahead of anything that Bethesda has done up to this point okay and he says if they made the video game where they made it where the the NPCs were moving like in cyberpunk okay then it would come at a cost yeah because you’re not doing what they do in cyberpunk in Starfield and you’re not doing what they do in Starfield in cyberpunk there’s literally thousands and thousands of plants in different locations and different things to do in Starfield this doesn’t take away from cyberpunk and cyberpunk doesn’t take anything away from Starfield okay I know it’s crazy I know it’s crazy but if you like a game and you play that game then Play That Game Stop because you’re just hurting yourself by comparing a game that you enjoy to Another game that you enjoy and then going why like this game better congratulations that’s gonna happen with anything in life okay I’m eating strawberries and all of a sudden I have this piece of fruit and I’m like oh this is better than a strawberry I wish the strawberry tastes like this why Jason Marshall says totally different engines so it’s unfair to compare I mean you can compare video games to video games Jason right and I’m okay with comparing but to go one to one it’s just it’s just it’s not fair right you know what I’m saying like if you want to Compare with RPG elements and the the acting in both games right or or the uh the way the stories were made in both games you can make those comparisons right because that has nothing to do with the actual engine of the game okay that has to do with the performance of Just like in in film when they’re comparing one actor to the other okay it’s just your performance right you can compare the performances and stuff now if CD projekt Red was or sorry if cyberpunk 2077 was made in the creation engine okay then you can 100 go oh they did better Like if if they use the creation engine and made the game like it is and then Starfield came out and made the game they did then you’d be like what the hell right that’s that’s completely different but then look at certain games that use the Unreal Engine Right two games that use the Unreal Engine use it in completely different ways completely two different ways the problem with cyberpunk 2077 is that you end up spending more time talking to NPCs than you actually playing the game that bored me uh with it was interesting uh in the cinematics But that’s the way they went for it right that’s the way they feel like to sell that game to you they want you to be the guy and and have it’s like Final Fantasy Final Fantasy is a lot of cutscenes right you’re watching a lot of cut scenes in Final Fantasy that’s the Way they wanted to you know promote that game and how they wanted to build that game I think that I think both games can exist in the world and have you know good things and bad things about it what I what I really love is people that compare CD projekt Red three Years after the game came out and say well this is a better game than Starfield let’s take day one cyberpunk to day one star field okay that if you want to make a comparison you can do that as far as what game came out better in better state Okay not saying both games are flawless in any way shape or form right but to compare game after three years of tons of updates and patches and and fixes to a game that just came out which let’s take three years from now what Starfield looks like three years from now and then You can make a comparison of what game did better after three years um they’re behind times of an old uh on the rails eight hour story mode uh game with a very strict branching paths bit of weird comparison referring to comparing Starfield to God of War Right right like you know what I mean it’s like I don’t understand why people look for like you like your games that you like right like I like open world games I like looter Shooters right and it’s different to ask like for instance uh division two right has honed in Like you can you can um targeted loot system okay to have another looter come out to not have targeted loot that hurts the game itself because the looter would would be better people be like well I don’t want to play this I can’t do targeted loot but I can do Targeted loot here I wish that this had targeted loot but it’s not to say that I wish that this game was like division right where everything that division does they do here as well right like there are points of looters that you look at and go I really like what They’re doing here and here’s the bar and they raise the bar so what CD projekt Red’s doing let’s take that example I just gave what the NPCs are doing in CD projekt Red cyberpunk 2077 is that they’re giving you story Rich content where there’s more and more cut scenes than actual gameplay okay They want to immerse you into that world and that’s what they did so they did much more motion capture in a small compared to Starfield a small Map size even though the map is gigantic okay for cyberpunk 2077 they’ve decided to work with that within the parameters of the Game that they’ve created okay now you take STAR field and they’re like well can we do what CD projekt Red did with those cut scenes and stuff as vast like you could literally walk up to I don’t want to say every NPC and have a conversation with them and someone might Make you go on an adventure to a different planet they have a thousand planets with multiple points on each planet with infinite an infinite amount of tiles that you can land on to explore and do stuff so if they did that how how big would that game be how much how much Gigabytes because people would about that they’d be like let’s just 500 gigs no no one’s got 500 gigs spared on their thing right and then people would about that as well you skip the dialogue in 2077 there’s a choice can you would you though I mean I guess you’re playing it I can’t fathom it tight not to say that people would but if I play that game I wouldn’t skip a dialogue because I I’m playing it for the story but I I can get that a lot of people don’t want to play for the story they just want to go Around shooting things and driving cars yeah Fanboys are reaching hard to take shots at Starfield Starfield is more of a Sandbox game the ability to do what you like unlike cyberpunk which is more of a story based right and both have their their I don’t understand the hate so much for certain Games it’s like you can go play if you don’t like Starfield just don’t talk about Starfield go play cyberpunk go play Boulder’s Gate go play Spider-Man I mean I I don’t get it I mean there’s there’s someone in chat uh that is bored I I love I love Dialogue I love listening to all the dialogue and all the stuff because I like reading the books I like reading the notes okay but that’s me and I know that’s not for everybody like you don’t have to read all the books and notes right you can get what you you want out Of the game you got to say hi to the hookers just to see what they’re what they’re going to say right right I don’t think but taking taking the hooker line there Z right do do people you know there’s some people that never take a hooker into the car And go into the back alley and wait to see what the hooker’s gonna do in the car right but it’s there right but it’s there it’s the I don’t like it so you is mind-boggling okay for some of the stuff that you you do like I can’t remember the last game that I played someone else played and they didn’t see The same thing I saw 170 hours in right they’re like have you seen this person yet I’m like I have no idea what you’re talking about 180 hours in I don’t know what you’re talking about did you see this did you do that no you just ruined it for me for Saying what you said right it’s it’s amazing to me okay I can 100 tell you if someone played cyberpunk or if you if you played God of War and you’re like did you do this yet yeah I did right 10 hours in five hours in can’t remember a game getting as much Heat as Starfield from ponies or people bitching about well I don’t even take out just ponies just people bitching right Twisted I I’ll agree with that I think a lot of people just don’t understand it right and then people are turning a corner like you’re comparing things like I really like baseball Well man I wish there was tackling supposed to praise him right But I don’t hate the people that are enjoying the game like if you if you love that game and enjoy the game by all means go enjoy the game right I still never played base he runs directly at uh because he hits the ball and it’s a little dribble to the pitcher and the kid the batter runs towards the pitcher and tackles him and I was like I was like that’s a little league I was like now that should be baseball man goes for a home run catches a bat to the back of his third base I think you should be able to carry the bat down to first base and the first baseman has a full-on a full-on suit And you get to if it’s a close play you get to you get to use the bat or or slam into the guy at first base that way first baseman now would be like would be like six foot seven 350 pound it would be like a wall could be a whole different dynamic To getting to first you know what I mean [Laughter] that that would be interesting What’s On Second all right we have a a fourth story we’re gonna go over somebody says I played Starfield on PC with nearing 60 hours new game plus five I could say the game has flaws like mini Games but by no means is it a bad game my only gripe is restricting the game from PlayStation Market I mean do you feel the same though that Spider-Man is not on Xbox or God of War Horizons not on Xbox you know what I mean like if if Starfield is on Playstation because it’s Xbox first party title then then God have warned them should all be on Xbox as well which I I do agree right I do agree that all games should be on all platforms you just pick the platform which you know what in some way shape or Form will be going that direction regardless because consoles will be gone in the future right you’ll be able to play the game on your television set or your PC and you’re just gonna click the app but it’ll be playing on that same console like for instance I can play if I have a PlayStation 5 and I have an Xbox I can play mobily on my device on one Apple phone by streaming my device to my phone you know what I mean so if you tackle a picture after the ground ball to the infield does that mean you get five minutes for roughing should be on Xbox do you think that Nintendo’s first party title should be on the other consoles as well because no one ever brings up that right people always bring up Sony to Xbox and Xbox to Sony but no one ever brings up Nintendo to them why why does Nintendo get to keep their first party titles but Sony but Sony and and Xbox don’t get to keep their first party titles I think that would that would hurt Nintendo’s market share so why why is Starfield not being on Playstation not hurting uh would hurt Xbox market share you know what I mean I’m okay with third-party games being on what I don’t like I’m okay with first party titles I don’t like the fact that The companies both are all you know are guilty of this even even Nintendo’s guilty of this they got the exclusive to Ultimate Alliance three because Xbox and Playstation turned it down and Nintendo said well we’ll take it and they made it just for a Nintendo switch right I don’t Like that Sony pays for extra uh like Hogwarts you know it gets an extra mission next year I’ll get to play the the mission that they they did I don’t like that certain companies buy certain Fighters for their for their game and their console other than the other Consoles right I don’t like that stuff but if you have a first party title I have no problem because you as a you as a customer for that first party title if you want to play their games you have to go buy their system and if you don’t Want to buy their system then you wait for it to come out on PC if it’s coming to PC and if you don’t want to do that then you just don’t get to play those games Bill Spencer should be more transparent with saying Starfield is a console exclusive forever is what you mean I mean but I think yeah sure it’s console exclusive sure but is it really console exclusive because this is a console now right the phone’s a console hey and I can play Starfield on my phone and that that’s where people look at where if it’s a first party title on PlayStations only on Playstation what if it’s a first party title on Xbox it’s on PC you know television sets piece uh computers the console you play on your phone you can you can play it anywhere except PlayStation and accept Nintendo to the difference that Microsoft is doing They’re exclusives now is is on Game Pass right Game Pass is on multiple devices so the only thing that’s holding you back from getting games on Xbox is that you got to pay ten dollars to get Game Pass you don’t even need a console anymore as Phil ever directly said it’s not Coming to Playstation no I mean it can’t come to PlayStation down the line what that would have to depend on if it’s successful enough Titan where they don’t need to bring it to PlayStation you know what I mean because their whole goal of of having Starfield is to get people to Come to Game Pass it’s not to sell Starfield Starfield is the bonus on top of that they want people to come to Game Pass they’re trying to get that 100 million it’s not about exclusivity at all it’s only about the fight it’s all about the war it’s all about The console war for the sake of bickering there’s a huge number of games that are that is on PC that won’t ever come to console and the consoles have specs to run them but they just won’t port them to the console that’s because most games that come to the PC the companies don’t Want to make the ports because if it’s the size of the studio uh if they just don’t want to support all of things you know what I mean and that I think that’s the developer’s choice I thought Xbox started the war and only wins when one amidst defeat Why do you think Xbox started the war boss what what made what made Xbox start the war like I’m truly like wondering what what made you think that Xbox started the war I don’t think Xbox started a war against anything I think Xbox did exactly what Any company did when they came to the market because when Sony came in they did exclusives just like Xbox did when Xbox came in but that’s what PlayStation did when when they came to the market they did the exact same thing yeah every every everybody that did it when Atari and the Nintendo came in Nintendo did it and then when Sega came in as Sega did it and then when PlayStation did they did it and then when Xbox came in they did it and when epic came in they try to do it right they all do it because to get the Market share to get into the the market share they had to pay the stuff to get those games or things to get people on their system I think it’s different is Sony is more clear to the public that they exclusive to Nintendo system for two years so there you go there you go So Nintendo was the first one to get the exclusive games to come to a system for two years so like I said where when Atari and Nintendo came in they had to do certain things to compete and then Sega came in and they did it to compete and then PlayStation did it to Compete and then Xbox did the exact same to compete so for you dwindled from uh usual to rare rocking Shore droppings when spending millions of dollars on the game now you need to recoup your costs and the best way to do this is to sell millions of copies 50 40 a pop and they’re nicely to thanks and the best way to sell millions Is to put your game onto as many devices as possible maximizing your audience and sure you can make a cash by releasing a DLC and using the in-game advertising but nothing beats millions of Cold Hard Cash physical sales and it’s basically uh economics so it could also be no Surprise that’s true single format exclusives are incredibly unusual now while limit yourself to the Xbox 360 when there are 80 million PlayStation 3 owners uh out there too so at E3 2007 when Microsoft announced the vi medium tattooed uh sorcer the GTA IVs episodes from Liberty City would Both be exclusive to Xbox 360 for one year eyebrows were raised well see I I totally forgot about that I totally forgot that Microsoft paid for Grand Theft Auto 4’s episodes from Liberty City both exclusive for the 360 for a year Microsoft uh had paid Rockstar 50 Million that’s 25 million per episode to keep lost Dam and Ballad of Gay Tony away from PlayStation owners at the time of it’s felt like cheating uh how dare Microsoft throw money around like that not very not very sporting of them now six years later the practice of paying Exclusive no matter how Petty has become the norm the fact that fast becoming a requirement games uh industry are coming uh uh economics have made it so scrutinizing peripherals content like DLCs services such as love film pre-release extras and and practice was really taken off during generation Pretty much everything is up for sale and console manufacturers are even retailers trying to get one up on each other paying silly money uh One exclusive escort missions the PlayStation 3 version of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood uh as you covered One exclusive Avatar items better get Final Fantasy uh 13 on Xbox then want 17 bouncer bouncer balls better uh FIFA 14 on uh Playstation three actually the last one’s a lie for now however fully exclusive games remain very expensive and this is what makes the TitanFall news uh no significant lucrative first party Arrangements mean The titles like Gears of War created by independent third-party developers epic still exists but the fewer large Studios remain independent these deals are getting rarer it would also be naive to assume that Microsoft GTA Arrangement was the first ever paid exclusive but it was a deal That changed things ah see so it wasn’t the first Microsoft was open about it the company needed a system seller for Xbox 360 and they bought and given the news about Titanfall and the rumors about Mirror’s Edge 2 slash Fallout 4 it also looks like they’re doing it doing Again in the fact that they’re taking the next level the Next Generation back in 2007. the B encounters at Microsoft decided that 50 million in both exclusive sales out there when they rough rare in 20 in 2002 essentially removing Nintendo’s most talented Studio from under them No one uh one would argue that rare produced 375 million dollars worth of games during Xbox generation but it’s probably kept them out away from competition only now working on the connect uh connect sports series that rare started the pay uh payback its it’s asking price by throwing the money around Microsoft Was gone from gaming unknown to market leader in just over a decade while Microsoft was not only paid for great exclusives but it’s also done deals to weaken the competition for levels of playing the field Final Fantasy that’s that’s uh on Xbox now Metal Gear Solid yeah that’s going to Xbox two curiously Metal Gear Solid 4 remains one of the few high-profile third-party exclusives on the current generation largely thanks to the storage capacity of Blu-ray something quickly uh negated by the higher capacity Xbox hard drives to avoid becoming a trend the general Trend uh tendency though is declined at true exclusives Sony uh was slow to react to the loss of uh most ground where PlayStation owners may have been in a position to respond with similar Blockbuster exclusives back in 2007 may not have been Financial Cloud to go toe-to-toe with the Microsoft now thanks to Civic and shares And and sales decline across the company it it uh depicted left by developing the market an unpopular PS Vita it was also a PS3 uh get timed exclusives for DLCs they’re smaller downloadable games but nothing of the scale of Microsoft GTA is for an episode Call of Duty DLC or even Skyrim down uh down guard or Dawnguard uh it’s also approved costly in the Next Generation they just might meanwhile Nintendo chooses to compare for a slightly different audience when it releases a Wii largely negating the need to compete exclusive content in Japanese giant was always relied heavily on the first part of games However the more traditional games focused on Wii U even that nitty is being forced to look around the exclusive count as the first signs of Bayonetta 2 and zombie IU yeah so that’s this is all the same next generation seems exclusive that the key Battleground between Sony and Microsoft Right here’s the here’s the war right the battle of the War uh the first looks at the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One shows also that are largely comparable in power functionality and architecture multiple format games will largely indistinguishably so the question both companies are asking is where will make Where will make people buy our machines or what will make people buy our machines the obvious answer is stuff that other people don’t have exclusives exclusives that will cost console makers plenty more money in the coming years and the fact that we could also see a Scenario in the next gen will be won by the console manufacturer not with the best original games but with the biggest wallets that’s actually pretty good pretty uh Insight of you for GTA 3 when it came out Grand Theft Auto 3 into Microsoft exclusive as an XBox exclusive they rejected the pitch because they didn’t they didn’t believe Rockstar was capable of transforming franchise for 2D to 3D Resulting of GTA 3 came to be a time PlayStation 2 exclusive the documentary explains that Microsoft was approached by a small game publisher who wanted to dust off one of the 2D games they did on PC and really invested in the franchise and story continued may I tell you PlayStation gets a lot of stuff because Microsoft rejects it it’s crazy how they always go to Microsoft first and then they reject it right the really important executive uh Executives in Xbox who did a review of all pitches from Publishers and developers said that I don’t think the Game is going to be able to make the transition from 2D to 3D the game turned out that GTA 3 Rockstar then turned to Sony and the game became a timed PlayStation 2 exclusive in 2001. GTA 3 did finally release an Xbox a year later as a part of Grand Theft Auto double Packed with Grand Theft Auto Vice City it sold 14.5 million units as a top selling game of 2001 in the US it would also have achieved the accolades of the following year right so you know exclusives have been around literally since the beginning of time since the beginning of video games They’ve been exclusives you’re so ridiculous boss boss pretends like he’s like Caesar uh in the Roman times right now he’s in a in his in his bath towel with some Shrubbery around his and he’s like We Will Conquer like he’s he’s hallucinating that he’s like from from 300. PlayStation picks it up and gets a gets exclusive it’s amazing like this this is this is why Sony doesn’t want Microsoft to go anywhere because every time they negate something They pick it up and it becomes a huge franchise for them they make a ton of money and then when they do and then when they do take them right they’re like no no we’re taking we’re taking red fall and it becomes an absolute trash fire [Laughter] so ridiculous what other games I’m trying to see when PlayStation came back in what they come in 90 97 wasn’t it 86. maybe five 95. so real quick I looked it up it says the irony that Sega themselves were too scared to double down on 3D polygons and the Sega Saturn ultimately began the Chain reaction that ended up seeing their own demise and set the PlayStation on path as success the PlayStation launched in Japan on December 3rd 1994 and a mere week or so after the Sega Saturn because they didn’t want to double down on it well I was like I’m looking up a 95 in the U.S yeah PlayStation came in and literally destroyed Sega because Sega was late to the party and then with the Sega Saturn or sorry Sega Dreamcast that that system was ahead of its time and then they rights to Spider-Man the film rights that’s it Sony does not own the rights to Spider-Man they don’t own the rights to do the television shows uh they don’t own the rights for like merchandise or toys comic books nothing they own nothing but the actual movie rights to make Spider-Man they own the rights of everybody in the Spider-Man universe to make movies that’s it they don’t own the rights to the video game Spider-Man character if they did then Spider-Man wouldn’t have been in the Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance game okay everyone always gets this very confused that Sony owned Spider-Man they don’t they own Spider-Man the film rights that’s it insomniac Who got the license to make a game or Spider-Man okay has the the rights now Sony bought Insomniac but Insomniac didn’t buy Spider-Man from Marvel right they license the license from Marvel okay so Sony just so happens because they own the the film rights and they own the company now That has the licensing to a Spider-Man game but Sony does not own the rights to the Spider-Man IP as far as video games that make it clear the internet loves to say that Sony owned Spider-Man across the board and that’s not true in any way shape or form One box rolled them all one of the Box find them Xbox bring them all yep they still don’t own Spider-Man they don’t own Spider-Man they have the licensing from Marvel to make the game ruinsomniac but they do not own the right to Spider-Man video game comic memorabilia all that stuff they only own The the license in the the and this is why they have to make new Spider-Man films every five years or something along the lines because if they don’t then the rights go back to Marvel it’s better in my opinion for both games and movies to be under the same umbrella So you can have references in the Skins better crossover sure but Marvel is not going to sell it the reason Marvel sold it off in the past this is why the Fantastic Four and the X-Men and Spider-Man they were all sold because Marvel was going bankrupt And and uh Stan Lee had to sell it off and he didn’t sell off the entire IP he sold the rights off to the film rights hence why they were still making cartoons they were still making the all the toys they were still doing all that stuff games were completely separate than the Actual entity of the film rights I don’t think if I don’t think it could have happened if XBox had the game rights from Insomniac and what couldn’t happen like the movie’s not attached to the game so why would it matter you know what I mean even even if Sony owned the movie rights And then they made an Xbox had the game rights for that one game why why would it look any different than what it is right now it’s still Insomniac making the game like Spider-Man 2 game getting Spider-Man 3 black suit Etc but they still had to pay for the license for that And Marvel starts to sign off on it it would just be that that if they wanted to do that to do cross promotion then Xbox would have to approach Sony to go hey we want to put that suit that you guys have in the movie in the game and Then they would pay them a fee but it starts to go through Marvel to get approval because again Sony doesn’t own the rights to the game they only writes the movie Xbox the client of Spider-Man IP in video games because they didn’t have the studio uh could produce it at the time That’s not true either silent Warrior Insomniac was the company that was making it Insomniac pitched it to make it and they wanted Xbox to fund it but they turned it down not because they didn’t have a studio Insomniac was could have been a completely Different game because I thought Insomniac pitched it I thought Marvel went to Insomniac first but it looked like that Sony gave it to Insomniac but Insomniac wasn’t owned by uh wasn’t owned by PlayStation they were just an independent so once Marvel went to PlayStation PlayStation then went to Shopping around and then went to insomniac I thought Marvel went to the single player what that game did excellent was tie into the movies and stuff that came out So they they would have an event so like if Moon Knight moonlightly through Moonlight into the game and you could have it as a companion and then uh when the eternals came out you could do an eternal event and then when there was a uh I forget What other event they had they had like a fist away event like they had all these things happening while the shows were on air if Loki came in there was a there was thing they had so many boss fights it was awesome so there was like 30 35 bosses that you would go up against it was excellent it was excellent it’s it’s what I wanted Avengers to be without the microtransactions on either of them I will not play phone games on principle we played on PC it was a phone game but we played on PC I’ll tell you it was a lot of fun they had they had characters they never put in the game before they had like Doctor Strange right here let me let me the skins and everything like this was this is the graphics on the phone okay like those are the cut scenes and stuff Like this this was a fun game right you got to be you got to be a lot of characters what Avengers should have been yeah Titan as far as going in the world and just open world and leveling up your characters and having as many characters as possible at Launch and then go up against 35 different bosses and constantly adding new stuff these are the openings of each of the characters right so they had storm they had Iron Man uh did they have I’m sorry they had Spider-Man and Captain Marvel she she was powerful as Opie man she was Op at some points at Captain America I love Doctor Strange that’s who I use most of the time and they they screwed this up because they kept putting companions in the game like you could have Vision you could have the Punisher you could have Deadpool you could have all these guys a Hulk Thor but you couldn’t play Hulk or Thor and I was just like why why is it always missing something right my biggest complaint for Marvel’s Avengers and this game was that I want to play as many Heroes as possible like give me the list of like Ultimate Alliance in a Marvel game Right I want to be oh I want to be like just level up have the little stories and every time and this was perfect because of the way they did it where if you’re playing co-op with someone you could be Hulk I could be Hulk everyone could be Hulk because we’re all from Different you know different timelines different Earths I think you could still play it can you or is it completely shut down I think it’s completely shut down now the game compared to Gotham Knights a lot of people uh uh when we first got Gotham lights yeah Oh gothamites uh came out today on Game Pass for people that want to play that nope you can’t you can’t even download they literally shut it down it shut down now and and that hurts like when you make a game like that and then you’re just gone right and now it’s delisted right Marvel’s Avengers is d-listed you can’t can’t buy that game anymore so if you own it you own it if you don’t you don’t I love Marvel’s Avengers that game fell short big time yeah because it wasn’t it wasn’t no one was buying the microtransactions no one Was buying the the the loot boxes and they were put in the game Tyler I have I have one two and three I love them yeah because they screwed it up Titan they screwed it up they they freaking ruined Marvel’s Avengers the game plays great the gameplay is great Like they they just threw Bucky in there at the last second they didn’t even care I was like yeah yeah here’s Winter Soldier whatever here you go like it was it was fantastic to be Iron Man and stuff man and put all your your gear and be super strong and be Hulk And do the boom boom boom and then just do the clap and just destroy everything it was fun yeah way back when Jesse no Guardians is not getting a sequel we gotta play Guardians I own it we got we got we gotta play it I should probably maybe I’ll do that This this holiday I’ll play it if a question is why are they always missing something the answer is usually microtransactions DLC or SQL yeah it’s always micro transactions it’s always something and I’ll be honest because of Marvel’s Avengers it gave me doubt of what Suicide Squad was because of Marvel’s Avengers I have Doubt in what Transformers reactivate’s gonna be which supposedly we’re supposed to hear something this week something this week we’re supposed to hear all right I spent 3.99 on the game and felt like it was a waste come on come on Vandal that they the story alone is worth Yeah Jesse it’s supposed to they’re supposed to do some sort of trailer or something because they’re doing the unreal conference this week you get a 17 to 20 hour story off the base game and then with the DLCs you get 25 hours Sony needs announcements after Spider-Man 2. yeah I’m wondering what what They’re gonna show right because that’s what they’ve been leading up to is Spider-Man 2 but what what after all divers now got what is February that’s a 40 game so that’s not that’s not a blockbuster game you’re you’re banking your whole thing on they gotta have something Not gonna lie it was on Game Pass and I still didn’t get past two hours did you play the story or did you jump into just trying to level up your character something was just off let me ask you a question right what do you think there’s something off About it because of all the that you heard about it before you gave it a try because even with East Side saying right where he said I spent 3.99 on this game and it felt like a waste I wasted it right that sounds like it’s coming from he Doesn’t even know if he wanted to spend the 399 because of all the hate and stuff that happened ahead of time he’s like ah it’s 3.99 I’ll give it a shot and then still hated it right I feel like if you’re going into something you’re like I heard some bad things about this You’re not gonna like it you know what I mean and I’m not trying to defend it I’m just saying when when you have like for instance I’m not playing cyberpunk right I’m not playing cyberpunk and I know it’s worth it but because of what it what it did when it came out okay I’m like nah I’m good right I typically don’t listen to outside info I prefer uh experiencing the guy uh a guide on my judgment yeah but you did hear it that’s what I’m saying boo regardless if you were looking for info it was talked about so much and talked about so much That that’s what I’m saying that’s why I’m asking do you think that was Weighing on you you know what I mean like you’re like ah it’s on Game Pass I didn’t hear too many good things about it like 399 and then go as a waste I mean there’s definitely worth 3.99 of of Content there in a just a video game format I played I played some shitty ass games in my time I’ll be like yeah 3.99 I wouldn’t I wouldn’t I wouldn’t feel like I wasted my money on it yeah but you can’t tell me if you played The game like the story mode or if you played and you just jumped into like going around leveling it up like it’s a like a looter and I think that’s the difference because you can just jump in the game and just start going around leveling up your character or there’s an actual story That was an update for division today huh incursions are back we’re gonna be playing dark tide um Warhammer Dark tide tomorrow tomorrow night with Sarge I think brain child’s gonna play with us as well I think Moe’s gonna play with us as well I don’t know if we’re playing I don’t Think we’re playing division tonight and that that’s 100 possible because they did a shitty ass job trying to uh to explain what was what in that game yeah it comes out tomorrow it comes out tomorrow I think it comes out October 4th right today’s the third yeah today’s the Third No no but anyway it was such a bad system like it truly didn’t explain it so that was one of the biggest things they were they were uh people were upset about they didn’t they didn’t understand because the developers didn’t even make it clear when they did it Or we’re trying we’re trying it out Jesse he probably won’t play that much of it like they didn’t explain anything all right what is this Nvidia might be forgotten the GTX 1060 and add that to the story for tomorrow yeah Spider-Man does look so good I’m swinging through the city um I don’t know I don’t I don’t think it is on Game Pass anymore I think they they took it down I think yeah I don’t know if it’s still on there um I think it is actually Marvel’s Avengers Definitive Edition yep still on at least it says it on my thing all right We are done for today we’ll be back tonight for game play we’ll probably play some star field again tonight um other than that we’ll be back tomorrow morning if you want to go over the news and then we’ll be back on Thursday morning and Thursday evening With the podcast
