Today’s video is like usual not my idea however it’s not an idea that I’ve stole from the comments either the idea comes from the lovely ldshadowlady so in her honor I’ve decided to make a shrine as you can see here I think she’d be nothing but pleased with this shrine We’ve got the cats what you mean do you like my shrines view what do you mean this is a perfect representation of you your skin it has improved yes you do look like you’re wearing like clown makeup a little bit you do have a very chiseled jaw so she loves it and it’s Weird my microphone didn’t pick it up but she definitely said now let’s get into the serious part of the video where I’m gonna give you 35 tips to improve your building part 1 the exterior so here we have a house that I feel is a very beginner newbie house and leads us On to our first tip which is don’t build a square house although you may be tempted to build symmetrically do not do this how many houses in real life you see that R square is Buckingham Palace square I don’t think so so doing things like adding a small little side Compartment can make your house look instantly better or you can do a style like this what you kind of got like a big bit on the left changing the house shape completely basically just any other shape than a square and you can keep adding / taking away from these Shapes as well and then you end up with something like this which just looks completely different the roof is a weird shape and the house that’s completely different inside as well so many different options tip 2 don’t use one block so here are some examples of blocks that complement each other there Are just so many different combinations that I couldn’t include them all but here a few of the ones I like and here they are being used on the same house but I’m listing with these free combinations for examples here as they are some of my favorites tip freed few Stairs for rubes now changing the roof from just blocks to stairs makes such a huge difference although they can be more awkward to place and for the best you can’t use stairs because they’re single blocks use slabs instead and as you can see it actually looks like a Roof now and makes a huge difference don’t make boring rooms now when I look at this roof I think it is boring it all slants downwards and there’s no peaks in the roof so we’re gonna improve it if you had like pointed bits like this it can really improve the look of your Build and rather than just leave it like this where you can see the clear difference between the stairs and the blocks you can add some detail by using stairs and upside down stairs like this or my personal favorite this so as you can see a vast improvement to this house Here’s another type of roof which is a bit funky and a bit weird not something I’d normally build but just show you what you can do and finally this is a bit of a mess but I think it looks pretty cool all the different rooms like This go together very nicely add in some dormer windows now unless you’re very clever you’re probably wondering what is a dhama window I will show you a dhama window is a window that sticks out of a roof like this I think this new house this is a really nice because it kind of Creates more space on the second floor for you and also just looks really neat here’s an extreme example of adding them to your house which looks a bit crazy but you can add as many or as little as you want depending on how crazy you want The house to be you can even do two next to each other like this add different sized windows so what I mean by this is don’t just do the same square window on every single bit add windows like that’s a two blocks even on these ones you have Windows that’d be interesting like this this this this this this or even this because why not decorate your windows the first thing that changed all these glass blocks – glass panes as I just think panes look a little bit better and there are multiple ways to decorate Windows when I use the most is adding window sills we’ve stairs although you can do with slabs – you can add trap doors like so to make some cool blinds and if what I like to do is add some grass blocks on like so then use some trapdoors Make this soft cool effect and then you can add like flowers on it and stuff you can also add stairs on top of it like this for a cool effect add flowerpots onto the window sills and adding a mix on just makes the house look really nice You can also add like walls or fences like this to make him look a little bit prettier so you can get really cool effects by just adding some windowsills it adds a lot of detail which is lovely use fences and buttons for detailing whether it’s fences up the Side of the house like this or placing buttons like so a little bit of an interesting look you can use buttons on the side like this as well and use fences and other things to hang cool things like lanterns go out your comfort zone and use some unusual blocks barrels I think look really cool and you can use these in your build they don’t have to be used as barrels for example you can put them above windows like this they look pretty cool even blocks like looms can look really cool from the back so it Can be used on corners like this to make some really cool detail get your torch placement right now there’s nothing more annoying in my opinion when you get a lovely house like this and then people just do this with torches to light it up it just ruins the house so make sure you Make your torches sort of symmetrical placing them in nice locations and try and keep them on the same level as you can see I’m doing here obviously you don’t have to use torches gonna use lanterns instead like on this house add a balcony to your house now balconies Don’t really add anything but they can look pretty cool so I think a little balcony here can really change the look of the house for the better dig down a bit and add a basement now for your smaller houses you don’t have a huge amount of space but there’s a limited Space underground meaning you have a huge basement underground for storing whatever you want and it can be any size or shape you want it to be improve your entrances at the moment this entrance is looking pretty boring I like to change this up in a few ways my usual is just Adding some walls and fences and some slabs like so it just makes it look a little bit more interesting you can also extend entrances a little do something like this also use doors that fit the style of your house or offset them a bit like this for something quite nice and Fun make a plan before you build now what you see me do in this video don’t do that don’t make a square house and then adapt it start off by having a plan in your head on how you want the house to look can I build houses I like to make a Rough floor plan first and think of how many floors and where the rooms and everything else is going to go be smart with your building get some inspiration if you look at a lot of houses in real life they’re not square they’re all different shapes and sizes Look old country homes in England look at crazy mansions in America if you’re building in a certain style like Japanese temples go look at some Japanese temples stuff like that although I’ll say this don’t try and copy it exactly because you’ll never be satisfied of how it looks because obviously in Minecraft Isn’t going to look like real life instead just take inspiration and try and make something that you built from scratch moving on to the inside of your build make sure the floor complements the walls I’ve gone for brick in here because I think it fits quite nicely Birch wood planks goes really nice with this build and stripped oak wood for this house here put glowstone under carpet the oldest trick in the book it really helps light up your house without the use of torches and you can’t tell it’s there cuz glowstone even though It’s changed is still ugly stairs are better than ladders now there are some situations where you want to use ladders however the majority of the time ladders just look ugly and also take longer to climb up and can be awkward that’s why I prefer staircases you can do obnoxious Staircases in the center of the room which you can make look at very grand and fancy although they do take up a lot of space in the house or you can do smaller subtler side staircases like this or you can go really funky and have an outdoor staircase which I wouldn’t Recommend for convenience sake although it does look pretty cool think about convenience before placing things things like crafting table chests furnaces etc so often I like to place the crafting tables and furnaces and maybe a chess or two right by the door as that’s where you’ll be coming in and the things You’ll be using most you want to be really convenient but things like your main chest storage area can be like downstairs in a basement as you won’t be using this very often same goes for things like the enchanting area you can put those a bit out of the way as you’re Not gonna be using them all the time make rooms by adding in a walls now obviously this is just for looks there’s nothing about this that makes your house more convenient it’s purely for cosmetic purposes but it does make a huge difference and makes your house look Much nicer on the inside I do believe you also change the floor in these rooms to make it a bit more interesting and give a bit to Marva riot II ad windowsills inside as well as they work as a really good place to start off will It be a collection of skulls and zombie heads or flowers whatever you want to do use item frames to store your tools this isn’t for cosmetic values this is more for practicality say you’re off out on an adventure you can always look up just before you’re leaving to make sure You’ve got all the right tools add some paintings to your walls I love the look of paintings on walls I think it really adds to the look not massive ones like that but more like smaller ones like this just really changes up how the house looks and just makes everything Look really nice and holey use up all the space in your house now this comes into the planning section as well you don’t want big empty spaces like these that’s are the new blocks in for example bookshelves are another great one for filling up space or you can make your Own little table and chairs the old-fashioned way like this add jukeboxes in armorstands are great where some diamond our it also flex that you have an extra set of diamond armor maybe you have a collection of nice different colored schalke boxes you want to display just try and fill up the space You have rugs make a huge difference but at the same time don’t overcrowd it you want to be able to walk around your house with ease without bumping into stuff constantly use custom minecraft heads now for this you have to head to a website called minecraft – heads comm And they’ve a load of categories full of loads of different heads now you have to use a command block for this so obviously got to give yourself a command block and then copy in the code from here add a little button to the command bar and bam you get cool little things Like these enchanted books which you can plop around your house and there’s so many different types of heads you can get which you can just plop in and these are great for little decorations you just wouldn’t be able to get otherwise let’s get some gallons in this place Starting with paths they can add all sorts of paps you can add a straight path a sort of Wiggly path and my favorite type of path to add is by using the shovel and adding a sort of fun cool path up to the house like so just randomly placing these blocks no Particular pattern to it whatsoever I just think it looks really cool tip 27 fencing off your house a lot of people use fences around their house they just build them all a straight line which can look okay sometimes but I personally really don’t like this I personally like to just Place the fences a bit more sporadically around like this which isn’t as protective I know but from a cosmetic point of view I think looks really good just adds a bit more detail you know it’s for the house instead of fences try hedges this is another popular method I Like to use instead of using hedges say you’re making like a neater sort of garden this is perfect for this basically just play some logs at ground level like so you don’t need to worry about it I’m looking like that and you can even do them one high which looks Pretty cool but it’s not very protective or you can do them too high maybe making them free high in the corner and at the entrance it just gives a lot neater but a very cool look add in a pond now not only are ponds very cosmetically pleasing they are also pretty useful for If you ever need to collect some water you can make a water source out of these don’t build them square just randomly click blocks away like I’m doing right now until you get a shape that you like very nice you can do a neat pond as well In a garden like this and they just have some slabs around it like so – like neaten it up looks pretty cool still had some lily pads on it for the extra effect you can even add a few if you’re going for that swampy look add some Nature with flowers and bone meal now bone meal in the ground I think just improves the look of houses dramatically but you don’t want to use just bone meal grab some flowers that bone mill doesn’t spawn in like the bigger flowers and the big firms to add a load of color to your Build for like the neater gardens I like to do sort of rows of these flowers so some rose bushes here along the edge of the garden looks pretty cool and don’t bow mill the ground if you’re going for a neat garden as it just looks overgrown And wrong but you can add a tree in if you want because everyone loves trees use some outdoor decoration blocks barrels don’t only make cool bits on houses you can also stack them outside to make some cool decoration along with hay bales these are really good for this As well just looks really cool I wouldn’t put this in the Nita garden though spice up your farm now all those straight lines would be good for a house that’s you’re going for a very neat effect on sometimes it’s nice to make farms are a bit more rugged And random add them in amongst your garden just like home ground near some water things to adding a farm in like this where is just completely sporadic it doesn’t really make sense can look really cool at the back of your house make your own trees saplings are very Unpredictable you place one down you bonemeal it and it can look like that or it can look like this like you just get random stuff every single time so sometimes it’s best just to make your own trees you can go like big and bold it works really well with this overgrown Garden like so you can’t really get a tree like that by bo milling at sapling or you can go the opposite and have some very neat trees in a garden like this where they all look identical and very uniformed like that I have the right garden for the right house so you’re Gonna want to fit the garden to the style of your house ever growing a messy for a sort of cottage style a clean uniform garden for a sort of modern style house light up your area smartly the final tip of today a very simple one rather than place torches on the ground Which I think can look messy place them on trees around your area just because it just looks a lot nicer than having torches on the ground another cool one to do is place glowstone two blocks down and add some leaves on top of it and it keeps your area looking nice and smart As well as keeping it lit up at nighttime so that’s it for today’s video thank you for watching I hope you did enjoy these tips and prays to ldshadowlady our Queen goodbye Video Information
