What’s going on everyone my name is impulse and today I’m bringing you a tutorial for five different types of items orders that are very useful for your Minecraft world and the best part about this is the first three that I show you are gonna be able to be used in Both the Java Edition and the bedrock edition and they currently work today and have for many versions now so they will most likely work for you for those of you that are here looking for a specific type of item sorter there are timestamps on the left-hand Side of the screen that you can use to jump right to the part of the video that you’re interested in so here’s the five different sorters I’m gonna be showing you today the first one we’re gonna start off with is the tie label item sorter with overflow protection and I’ll Get into what that means here in a minute we also have a smaller version of the tileable item sorter but this one does not have the overflow protection and again we’ll talk about that just a bit we also have a non stackable item sorter these are very handy for things Like skeleton farms where you have bows coming through or armored things like that that can’t stack up we have potions only so it’s gonna be looking to see if you got potions in the system and we’ll put all different potions in one chest for you and then Finally we have a minecart only sorter that will sort out all the minecarts from the system as you go through so we’re gonna go through these one by one again if you reference the time stamps in the description or at the beginning of the video you can jump to the item Sorter that you’re interested in alright so we’re gonna start things off today with what I feel is the best and most versatile item sorter in the game today it’s something that I showed on YouTube about five years ago and still works today not only on Java but on bedrock Editions of Minecraft which is incredible this is a tileable sack of all items sorter that has overflow proof protection on it meaning that no matter how many items you get in here if it fills all the way up to the brim it will not break which is a flaw of many of the Items orders that are out there today it’s very simple to use you can see we have an input coming in here you can see these hoppers and I’ve got a texture pack on it is a vanilla tweak so I’ll put a link in the description that adds These errors to the hoppers to help you kind of get an idea of which way these hoppers are facing just in case it’s hard to tell and some aspects here but yeah we put the items in the input chest here and they’ll go through and this hopper here will check To see if you want to filter them out and in this case we’re filtering stone out as you can see in our first slot of the item hopper here and all the stone will then end up in this sorted item chest down below and anything else will End up at the end of the chain here which you can send anywhere you want of course so just to prove that this works we’ll just pop in a bunch of items some of which are stone and they will work their way through the system and anything that is not stone of course Will end up here and anything that is stone you can see starting to come in down here and so there’s some redstone magic behind this locking hoppers and that kind of thing to make sure that the right items are going to the right places and this is basically it here’s a Side view of it we’ll do a quick tutorial how to build this here in a second because I also want to show you the tie level part of this and so this is basically it you have your comparator reading this hopper here we have this hopper below locked because this Redstone torch right here is powering this block so nothing can go through and what you do see is that some items are held up in here so you’re gonna have 41 of whatever item you’re filtering here and you’re gonna have one stuck in here as well so the only down flaw of the System is you’re gonna have 42 items kind of left in limbo in the item sorter itself as they come through but as the next items come in they’ll drop through and but you’ll always have 42 items kind of in the system I’ll show you another system that allows you to have less Items stuck in the system so if you have something valuable like diamonds and you don’t want 42 of them just sitting in the system at all times well there’s a better system for that as well but the benefit of this system is you can actually build these right next to each Other so if I was to take this and basically just exact block for block and build it up just like this we can have it working and then we can have a second item right next to it so it saves time of course you don’t to connect a chest There and oh yeah there we go when I have it like that hopper pointing to the back of this one and then this one kind of facing into like an air block on top of the chest you don’t want to leave a solid block on top of the chest cuz then Of course you can’t open it so we’ll remove that and now we can actually have a second item in here and what you need to do is in these force these four slots here it’s slots two three four and five you want to have an item that’s not going to come through The system and the way I make that happen is I create an item that’s named and that’s pretty simple to do if we get in in Annville here and we’re going to the system and we’ll get an anvil and we take whatever block we feel is cheapest Something that’s got it’s got to be stackable to 64 mind you so we’ll take cobble like I did before and will actually pop it in the anvil and all we’re gonna do is name it and I like to name them item filter that way when I See that I know what they’re supposed to be used for it is gonna cost you a level of XP so make sure you have that but now we have those items and we can then use them as filters and that way nothing else is going to come in and land in the Spot we can make sure that the only thing that’s gonna accept is stone and anything else would kind of rake the system so you wanted to put one of each of these and of course I didn’t complete the redstone this is a pretty common mistake that people make when building This gotta have that torch underneath so you see those items falling through that is why probably miss that torch there typical mistake trust me is as I know from this tutorial being out for five years now it’s probably the most common mistake I’ve seen people make in this Case let’s go ahead and filter redstone so you see this fall down to 41 and then there’ll be a one left over in this hopper that’s to be expected the rest will end up in this chest and now this will allow the redstone to come through As well so if we take some redstone and we’ll pop that into the system and we take let’s take some iron I guess we’ll pop that into the system and we should see the Redstone off going into this chest like we just like we’re seeing and Then the iron will come into here so yeah and the way that this is Tyla balandin also have overflow protection the signal will never reach down and over so if there are all the stone coming in here 64 is as much as it can handle right There even when we get 64 the signal doesn’t cut across here which would open up this hopper and release items when it shouldn’t be so this is the very important part is that you want to have one of each in here and that way you can never get more Than this many items you can never get more than 68 items in the hopper otherwise it would break the tiled slice next to it so I know a lot of people try to cheat the system and will add you know more these guys and you start doing That that’s when you’re gonna break the system so you don’t want to do that if you wanted to stay over flow proof and basically what that means is if items backup into the system say we have a full chest of redstone dust here this hopper gets completely full and now this One stays full as well that signal won’t bleed over to the slice next to it causing issues so it’s completely unbreakable system even if it backs up with items all right so for the second stackable item sorter design I have for you this one’s a little bit different Than the first it does not require you to store 42 items in the system it actually only requires 2 as you can see but the downfall of this one is that you either can put them next to each other isn’t I label like we did over there and Not worry so much about the system backing up and breaking itself because it would eventually if it did or you can just separate them by a space and then hat not have this redstone touching and then it will work perfectly fine as a non tileable item sorter with overflow protection I guess so can I get one of the other in this scenario but if you’re looking for something that’s going to require less diamonds in the system or whatever is valuable to you and you want it maybe to be a little bit smaller this design is Probably for you so let’s take a look at this it’s pretty easy to build it’s pretty much the same concept as before except one block is kind of an shaved off of this design here and the same thing goes for how we set the item Filters here so you can see in this case instead of doing one per slot two through five here we’ve actually got five five five and six so you were adding up 21 items here still have the filter item the named blocks to make sure nothing comes at into this these Spaces to increase this number as items come through and then just the one of whatever we’re trying to filter so it kind of saves a little bit there so this is kind of nice in those situations where you don’t necessarily need one right next to each other and or and or You don’t really need to worry about you know if you’re doing like diamonds or whatever you know that you’re never gonna fill up a double chest of diamonds maybe and you don’t have to worry about that so it’s still kind of useful and it definitely has its place but I don’t Think I really need to do a tutorial on this you can see all the Redstone from here again this is how you set the item filter five five five and six with the item that you want to filter in that first spot always needs to be in that First spot the third item soda we’re gonna show today is the non stackable item sorter and this one is quite useful this is gonna take care of getting things out of the system or put in a different place things like that I have on my hotbar like bows and armor and Tools and weapons and potions and basically anything in Minecraft that doesn’t stack up and this is nice for when you maybe have a skeleton farm that you know bows come through and they basically junk up your storage system they take up a lot of room because they’re not stackable you could send Them to a garbage disposal or something like that or a different storage system if you wanted to by getting them out of the system away from all the other things you’re collecting like bones and arrows or whatever else you’re doing so this one is built a little differently Than the ones I’ve showed you before and basically they show how this thing works we’ll take let me take something that actually is stackable here maybe some cobblestone I’m not gonna put that much in the system let’s just put a little bit in here well put together all this In the system boom boom boom a little bit of that now okay there we go and now what we should see is anything that is stackable will end up down here and we don’t need to worry too much about that torch burn out it’s not going to cause Any problems but we have the cobblestone coming in here and we have all the stackable items that I put in will start to show up in here as you saw I just come through so this is like I said very nice very handy in your world and here Is the Redstone behind it and again it is pretty simple not sure I need to do a full tutorial on it you can see how the Redstone works I’ll stay right here so you can take some screenshots I think you pretty much can see all the Redstone From this angle here if you want to emulate that do you need the half slab right here so basically this comparator is reading off of this hopper and if a stack or a non stackable item comes through its gonna prove it it’s gonna send enough power through this Comparator that’s actually going to keep this block law which means all the non stackable items can continue traveling wear anything that is stackable is going to turn off the signal unlock that block there or that hopper and then those can end up down in this chest so that’s basically How it works of course you can then take these wherever you need to disposable system you know a bigger storage system whatever you want to do but yeah that’s basically it there’s no other hidden torches or anything like that like I said you can see all the redstone from Right here if you want to take a screenshot that block is very important because that’s responsible for hoppy are locking that hopper right there so yeah there you go now for the fourth sorting system design of the day is our potions only sorter this one’s very handy if you want to Send all the potions that may come through your sorting system into one spot one set of Ches maybe and here we have the input for it and basically they’re gonna travel through the system here and this dropper is going to attempt to put potions on to this brewing stand and if it’s successful They’re gonna come this way and into this potions chest here of course you can hop or chain this wherever you like and anything that’s not a potion is going to end up over here because it’s basically going to just fall through the system and not get into this brewing Stand so we’re gonna go ahead and show how this works right now I’ll go ahead and pop some items in we’ll do some of those some of those and we should see all the things that were not potions the cobblestone and the birch coming through here and all the things that are potions Come in here so all the different potions will be in the same chest together of course but it is kind of nice to be able to separate out your potions from your non potion items so this designs a little more complicated I’m not gonna be able to just sit here And let you take screenshots and expect you to build it up that way so let’s go ahead and build this up on camera together we’ll go ahead and start with where we want our potions to end up and we’ll put a hopper into that one and Then we’ll put a chest back here I suppose and we’ll have basically everything else come into that that would work if we wanted to do it that way and then what we’ll do is we’ll put a dropper on top of that back hopper there and then we need to go ahead and Get a comparator signal off of that dropper we’re gonna go into a block off the back of that Parador there with a redstone dust on the top of it a torch coming off the back and then we’re gonna steal that signal from underneath so let’s put a Couple blocks here and take this one back out that one’s extra doesn’t need to be there and we’re going to put a repeater leave it on the default one tick delay there do not touch that and that should be good to go now we need to Put a block on top of the comparator there that’s gonna get powered by that redstone dust and then we need to bud power this dropper by utilizing that this rail right there so basically that rails going to get powered and that’s going to update the dropper to try to Spit the item into the brewing stand which this right on top of that hopper there so far you should have something that looks like this now we need to determine how we’re coming in you should be coming to bringing in items from this way basically so your input chest may be Here and then your line coming in to the side of that dropper and now that we have that we know that we can put a block right next to that hopper so that we can help lock that as needed we’re going to put redstone dust on top of the Hopper there by holding shift and click and then we’re going to put a repeater and this one’s going to be on two ticks of delay so click right click that one time to add it on two ticks of delay you can shift-click a block on to the back Of that which is gonna be powered by that dust right there and that should be it all right let’s see if we did this right we’ll go ahead and pop in a couple different items here and we’ll see if it’s coming through so we should expect Our potions to all be in this guy and anything non potion to be in this guy perfect and again yeah you can lead these hoppers wherever you like I kind of curved this around to make it easy so potions and non potions as I’ll be right Here in front of us but yeah that is basically it give you one more fly about just in case you missed some of the steps there so you can see all the redstone and it’s gloriousness our fifth and final sorter of the day is the mine card only sorter this one might be Useful for you if you were just trying to get all your mind cards into a chest somewhere and separate them out from all your other items that you’re sending through your storage system so this one works basically off the principle that it dispensed we’ll try to dispense a minecart onto a Track and then if it actually is successful in doing that it’s gonna send it over to a cactus to break that minecart down and collect it into the system and if it’s not a minecart it’s going to just get sucked up by this hopper so all the things that are not Mine cards wound up here all the minecarts will end up here and we can demonstrate that by popping a minecart into that chest you’ll see a pop out and go through let’s go ahead and throw a piece of redstone dust into that chest and you’ll see that it just pops into This hopper and it ends up right there for us to collect so this one again is going to be another one where I probably need to build it up for you on camera if you’re interested in doing this so let’s do that right now all right so let’s Start with the chest where we want our nan mine cards to go we’re gonna put a hopper going into that and I’m just going to put a temporary block on the back of that because this is where our dispenser is going to go and basically this is where all the non minecart items Will end up because it’s gonna get sucked up by that hopper so we’ll do that put a rail on top of that and a block there so that the minecart will travel off as they come in and then we can bring our input line in through this Side right there so that’s our input chest and then what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna put one more block here because we need the minecart to travel a little bit further and then let’s go ahead and bring this down into the chest that we want to actually store it in so Let’s put that chest right here and then we can take some hoppers and lead it in that way so let’s go ahead and put a hopper there one there and one there and now what we want to do is put a hopper minecart on top of this guy here so We’ll put a rail down temporarily put the hopper minecart on top of that then we want to break that rail so it’s sitting there like that we’re gonna put a temporary block right here and that’s just so that we can drop some sand down and you’ll see it just fall right on top Of that hopper minecart and then now we’re able to put a cactus on top of that we’ll put a block on top of that cactus just so it cannot grow we don’t have to worry about that at all and then we’re gonna put a couple blocks back Here just to make sure that when the hopper or when the cactus breaks the minecarts they don’t go flying off and don’t you know get collected so we’ll go ahead and put some track down here we need to power this trash and the best way to power it is to just Take a lever and go ahead and put that on the side of this block right here and power that so our track is now powered and that does not affect anything in the system from getting jammed up and now all we need to do is make it so that any Time an object comes into this dispenser it actually gets fired and we’re just going to use a simple clock to do that so we’ll put a separate block there come three out here three out there go with a comparator right here that’s going to detect if something’s in there or not And they’ll put a block there block there and then redstone dust right there repeater on the single tick there don’t touch that leave it on default and go ahead there go ahead and put this on comparator mode and then redstone dust there and we need to cut that signal by Putting a block right on top like that so that will get you your clock that as items come in it will fire off the suspense or one last thing we need to do is put a block right on top of that comparator we shift clicked to place That and then that should do it alright so let’s go ahead and test this out we’ll start with a piece of sand and we should see it just gets spit out and sucked up and put it in there and that will put in our minecart with hopper That we have from building up from before you see that’s gonna get broken down into a mine cart and a hopper so they both will end up in this chest so if you have a furnace hopper or a chest and a hopper you will get your minecart And your chest separated and then add it to the same chest here so that is one I guess flaw the system is it’s not just mine carts if you’re bringing in the ones that are built up with something else in them but yeah anything that can Be spit on the rails will end up in here broken down from that cactus which is pretty cool so there you have it five very useful item sorter designs that you can use both in Java and bedrock – these last two these last two designs do not Work in bedrock did these are Java only but the first three guys showed work in both versions and yeah I’ve been working for quite some time so hopefully they will continue to work for many more years to come and yeah there’s this wandering trader decided to come by and Check out my designs here as well which is awesome but anyway yeah that’s gonna be it for today hopefully you guys enjoyed the video if you did hit that like button if you’re not subscribed make sure you subscribe before you go and with that said I will see you guys Again next time have a good one everyone Video Information
