Hey what’s up everyone welcome back to another video today we’re gonna be going over five very useful settings that you should make sure you’re using in minecraft dungeons these individually are really gonna add up and are really gonna help your performance in completing dungeons let us get into these five very Useful settings the first setting that i want to show you all is called root player now you can find this if you go to settings and then keybinds and it should be right here if it’s not maybe scroll down a little bit and you should be able To find it now i’m on pc so for me the keybind is left shift for you depending on what platform you are on you will have a different keybind for this what root player does is it will keep your player in one position while you’re attacking it won’t start Making you move around anymore now if you just hold down that root player key you can attack and your character isn’t going to move now why is this useful well for example if we take a look at this target dummy here i can just normally attack and as you can See my character is going to move towards the dummy and start attacking and that’s fine and that’ll work but when you start having a lot of mobs around you and it’s hard to just always keep your target on the mob that you want to attack you can just hold down root player and Just put your cursor anywhere and the target will still get attacked as long as they are in your range and as you can see that is really effective because i don’t always have to stay right on this target hitting it now this can also actually increase the range of your weapons a great Example of this is the spear now as you can see right now i’m just going to do a normal attack i hover over the target dummy i hold the tag down and there we go i start attacking right and it moved me even closer and often you’re gonna start moving closer To the target dummy just because it’s hard to always keep your cursor right on your target right so i might be attacking and as you can see i was clicking the the dummy there and it’s still kind of moving me closer what root player does is it just well it Roots you but what the really cool thing is it will actually increase your max range and i don’t mean literally increase it the attack range of the weapon stays the same as it would be either way but it makes you be able to use this attack range the max attack range much easier So as you can see i’ve moved away and boom on the third hit that spear hits whereas i can’t hit here if i don’t hold down the root player button as you can see i’m i’m gonna stop holding it down and press the target and it moves me like so many blocks You know there we go and i don’t know if if it’ll work from all the way over here it does it still works from that’s that’s crazy look how much of a difference that is rooted and then i walk forward and of course i know it’s you’re not Getting all three attacks because of that but the point is that when you root you are gonna sometimes be able to hit mobs from farther away and you’re just going to be able to hit them more consistently because i can hit just all the way over here and i’ll Still be hitting him now the spear is a more one line kind of attack weapon so it’s not as much as the double axe was but the effect still remains the same i can i have much more freedom with where i point i don’t always have to stay right on my specific target So i want to show this off to you in game let me load up fiery forge here all right here i am in fiery forge and i can just get into attacking and if and you’re not always going to want to start holding down replay when you attack because that is definitely going To mess you up but as you can see in some cases i can just replay her here through player and i don’t have to target the mobs this is especially useful when they’re running at you so creepers or spiders stuff like that look this this creepers coming at me it’s Easy for me to be able to kill off the creeper without missing him and then him exploding and killing me you know and these spiders they’re they’re all over the place i’ve been creeper i can just literally hold in one direction with the double x especially and it’s just gonna kill everything And this effect is still powerful with other weapons as well it’s not only with the double axe it’s not only with the spear it’s nothing special about these weapons this effect will remain the same with every weapon you use this with so try it out root player and then you just hold that Button down while attacking and you are going to be able to really maximize your damage potential rather than always chasing after mobs getting hit by creepers and losing out on range all right the next setting that i want to show you all is called enemy outline color now this is an Accessibility option so if we go to settings accessibility it’ll be found right here but it is a really cool aesthetic change to the game and you’re gonna see what i mean in a moment i’ve actually already been using it in this video but let me just go back to What the default outline color usually is it is red so as you can see if i walk up to a mob here they will be outlined in red right and in some cases this may this outline may not be too noticeable and in some cases it’ll be really noticeable but in general You always have this color all over your screen and it gets kind of boring you know because you stare at the same enemy outline color all the time and i mean don’t get me wrong it does a good job of highlighting your enemies but sometimes you want to change up and Sometimes you might see other colors better than red so as you can see all of these mobs are outlined in red and that is what the enemy outline color does now that’s the default option now if i go to settings and accessibility again and i change this well i can change it To so many colors as you can see but i’m gonna specifically choose mint green here just because it’s a pretty good opposite from the red and as you can see they’re a completely different color i mean they’re like this teal-ish uh kind of color even though it says mint green Looks uh kind of teal mint green whatever you want to call a point is they’re a different color and it’s really noticeable and it’s really cool because there are so many different colors that you can choose from and i know that this setting isn’t as kind of Game-changing as some of the other ones on this list are and you’re going to see what i mean shortly but it is just a really cool aesthetic difference and also it might help you see mobs better which will help you out just because it’s different it’s it’s a Really nice change and let me just change it one more time for you all just so you can see there we go gold let’s do gold and here we go again now they’re gold very noticeable i really like that mint green color that’s what i would say is my personal favorite but Here we have the gold you’re always seeing it on your screen so it’s it’s really cool to be able to change it around and have that kind of variety in your gameplay so i think it’s really cool enjoy it and play around with it play with some new colors it’s a really cool Aesthetic change the third setting that i want to talk to you all about is directional roll now the normal roll that we have is just called forward roll and what it does is it will roll wherever your character is facing so i’d roll and my character rolls wherever he’s facing here we go Just roll where he’s facing now this is good you know we get the rolls but the thing is sometimes you might want to for example roll this way or this way while your character is facing this way because say that skeleton’s gonna fire an arrow at me i can quickly Just roll wherever i want but as you can see what’s happening here is i rolled towards the skeleton because my character was facing that way so we have a solution for that and that is directional role now by the way i should mention that i think for some platforms Some of you are lucky and you already have this better type of role that i’m going to show you in a moment you already have it as your default which yeah that’s awesome if you do but for a computer you don’t and we’re not as lucky to Change that though we go to settings key bindings and then here we have forward roll and directional roll all you want to do is just clear your forward roll keybind while remembering the keybind that you’re clearing because we’re going to use that right now then you clear go here and Set it to whatever key bind you want directional roll i’m going to press space and that’s my keybind now and now instead of rolling where my character is facing i roll where my pointer is facing there i was kind of in a hole so that Kind of stopped me but as you can see there we go i can just roll wherever i want i can roll backwards i don’t have to only roll where my character is facing if i want to roll my characters facing that’s easy too because that’s where my pointers usually gonna be Unless i purposely want to dodge an attack let’s say an arrow’s coming at me from this way i’m facing this way well boom dodged easy and overall this is just so much more dynamic and better for combat this will let you dodge things like fire like those Blow up things arrows it’ll just make your life so much easier this is a really amazing role i really recommend using it so much better than the default one and it’s just a little change but that little change will go a long long way getting into the fourth setting We have a setting that a lot of players know about but a lot of players do not use it enough i’m talking about the mini map this is a map that will let you run around while you have it activated rather than the normal map which you can’t move Around with and you can’t see anything to get the minimap open if you don’t know of the keybind you can just look in your key bindings for computer it’s going to be different than if you’re on a different platform but you can check it right here for me It is tab now this is literally useful on every single dungeon run that you do because it just shows you every single little path and it makes sure that you don’t miss any chests or any secrets or anything that will give you more loot or help you finish a dungeon easier and so On so i’m gonna show you the full effect of this on a creepy now i do want to give some tips as to when you’re using this mini map as well because at first some of you may be saying sweat this is annoying it’s taking up Half of the screen i get that but it all depends on how you look at it and i mean that literally because if you start looking at your character and the map around you not the mini map but just the generation the blocks and everything the mobs you’re barely going to start noticing The mini map and you’re going to be able to see everything i mean look i’m able to fight off every mob that i need to press this button do everything then there’s also another side which is looking at the actual mini map to be able to find where you’re going and To doing that i can just do this no i don’t want to go there all right and i’m only looking at the mini map right now i’m not even looking at my character and this is helping me find every single secret every single chest everything that i Need to and then i can always switch my view to the mobs again overall everyone this is really going to help you with doing everything in minecraft dungeons and you’ll be amused as to how much just smoother the gameplay feels how much more fun minecraft dungeons becomes Because you’re able to know where you’re actually going and getting into the fifth very useful setting we have the hud scale now what is the hud it is this thing right here with our artifacts and our heart and our potion and the hud scale allows us to make this either bigger Or smaller based on our liking and this can be really good because what if you’re really far from your screen and you just can’t really see the hud very well well in that case you can increase its size what if you want it smaller you can do that too So whoops i just pressed a whole lot of buttons yeah you want to click settings and then you want to click game and here you have hud scale now mine’s on 90 and uh it’s usually on 100 so let’s pretend it was like that anyways this is what 100 would look like And you can change that to either the smallest option which as you can see is a lot smaller or you could change that to the biggest option which as you can see is a lot bigger um or you can get it somewhere in between and let’s say i kind of want to Go to 80 just for this example and it’s a lot smaller of an hud so i can see more of my screen and that’s going to make defeating mobs easier for me just walk through here just bite off all these all these cows these are some crazy cows some crazy cows But we’re surviving we are surviving and uh yeah as you can see you can just change it to your liking let’s play with it at the biggest size really quickly um 150 now this is actually is not that bad honestly i don’t even have to look at my artifacts to know that they’re Up and i i can literally know which ones are up specifically like i know myron height aiming that’s about to be up and it’s up and my bits of swiftness just went up i mean this is it’s not bad you know what it’s not bad It might be a bit a bit overkill a bit too big but i think it’s a great customization option that can really help some of you out especially if you are in in the cases where you’re having trouble seeing this or it’s too big anyways everyone those were five Very useful settings in minecraft dungeons that you should make sure
