What’s poppin gamers it is me leon with another seven quick tips video we’re going to be talking about the best ways to build in a medieval style let’s skip the long and boring intro and get right into it one understand your style medieval is a pretty big term and definitely is not Just one style you have different blocks that work better and worse in different sum styles you’ll probably always be using stone and wood because these are very classic traditional medieval blocks but within that you have different color palettes that can comprise different sub styles within the overall Medieval style for example you have a standard more realistic medieval style that might use regular stone maybe some deep slate andesite granite uh maybe some spruce wood or oakwood and on the other hand maybe you’re going for more of a dark gloomy gothic hellish castle in which case maybe you’re going for Blackstone uh dark oak wood deep slate and nether brick and on the polar opposite of that maybe you’re going for a high fantasy light bright radiant medieval style in which case maybe you’re looking for something like sandstone bone blocks diorite quartz birch and oakwood or even some crimson planks can look Really nice as a color contrast Two take advantage of depth if i had to summarize good builds in minecraft in a single word it would have to be depth and this actually works out really well because a lot of the different blocks you normally see in medieval style builds have tons of different variations on the same texture For example stone bricks have blocks slabs walls stairs cracked and mossy versions and a very similar thing applies to all sorts of other different textures that you’ll commonly use in your medieval builds like wood deep slate blackstone etc so be sure to take full advantage of all these different kinds of blocks don’t Just build with full blocks because your builds will look a hell of a lot better for it Three texturize similar to tip number two a lot of medieval builds have different textures that share very similar colors for example stone and andesite brick and granite dark oak and spruce and there’s many more out there be sure to vary the different textures you’re using if you want to make your Build feel more down to earth and realistic four roughing things up medieval times was pretty dirty and nasty if you’re going for something more down to earth and reflective of real history you should incorporate this into your builds too maybe that means sometimes sub in a stair instead of a full block Or just put a slab in a place that’s not supposed to be houses can be old or falling apart paths can be messy grass can be growing in weird places and things can be dirty if you like making builds feel real like i do then definitely don’t forget to include this step Real quick i just want to say that i’m trying something new and experimental with this series and i would love to hear your feedback if you could like the video and leave a comment down below with your thoughts it would be super super appreciated thank you anyways Enough of me showing for youtube cloud let’s get back to the video five take advantage of the game’s natural aesthetic minecraft naturally lends itself into this rustic medieval style we have swords and bows for weapons fine villagers living in small medieval era villages and usually don’t see anything That you wouldn’t expect to find in a typical medieval fantasy world because of this there are a ton of blocks that fit right at home in any medieval build such as villager workstations crafting tables furnaces item frames trap doors etc these blocks are often hard to work with In other settings and styles since they are mainly designed for a medieval aesthetic so since you’re building in this specific style it really makes the most sense to use as many different blocks as possible because more variety is always better Six get inspired by the real world if you want to build a truly inspiring castle or medieval city you can always look online for reference images tassels are often confusing to build so learning the basics of castle layouts before you start your project might make the difference between a Mac castle and a really sick one i suggest taking advantage of google maps google street view or if you want to get really in depth check out historical records and architectural schematics seven don’t be afraid to get really nerdy let loose your inner d d or lord of the rings nerd If you want to name your castle build up some lore behind it or even use it in minecraft role playing that’s totally valid if by doing this you’re becoming more inspired and motivated to work on this project and produce something you’re truly proud of then don’t let anyone stop you And that’s the video thank you very much for watching please like and subscribe if you haven’t already and i’ll see you in the next episode of 7 quick tips peace Video Information
