A Brand NEW Minecraft 1.15 Survival World, Done Right! #1 [HOW TO]

Hey everyone whip here and welcome back to Minecraft today we’re gonna be doing a quick video here on what to do first inside of a minecraft survival world to set yourself up for success so that any further ado I think we get into this one here by starting out with chopping a few

Trees for yourself obviously very very first steps we know inside of Minecraft are you need some logs you have to be able to build things otherwise you’re gonna be kind of wandering aimlessly for a long time because without sticks or anything like that you can’t really get

Access to tools today however I want to focus on how to set yourself up for success inside of a Minecraft world that you’re gonna do something more along the building side so these are the types of things that I did to set myself up for success when I started my own new

Survival world series three years ago at this point but I used a lot of the same things when they’re going through doing source block and all that type of stuff there so we got a few tools right here for us let’s get this craft table up and we better be on our way

Few good things to do here is to get a lot of food as you’re going and break a bunch of grass while you’re moving around so you can just pick up a few seeds and you know just maybe get that early game farm set up because otherwise

You’re gonna be hurt in here and we are hurting right now not getting very lucky with getting any seeds off of these I swear it’s a possibility it can happen I saw a little bit of coal off to the right side there though so we should be

Quickly set up to be able to survive the first night the big thing that I like to do inside of these worlds is we really gotta set ourselves up so that we can survive through through the first night without Nina afk and now we are getting

All of the seeds so that is absolutely awesome but let’s head back over here and start getting a little bit of stuff going for us and there we go the precious coal that makes all of our torches and everything we could possibly need it’s probably gonna be a good idea

Here to get ourselves a bunch of cobblestone as much as we can you don’t need to use the whole wooden pick I usually get about 6 and then I just block the crafting table back down there make up an axe and make up a pickaxe for ourselves so we can have something going

On I think an axe is probably pretty useful to have at this point let’s get ourselves a little bit of this coal and then we can figure out how to get our farm set up because seeds are a very very big thing early games we want to

Let those grow super fast post 1.13 a great source of early game food here is just coming and killing all the fish that you see swimming inside of the rivers because each one of them will drop a dead fish you don’t have to spend a bunch of time

Doing all the fishing stuff and apparently they drop bone meal too as well did not realize that one maybe it tried to poop on me but we can do this quickly gather up a bunch of this stuff and then we’re pretty much set up for

Success to be able to build up some sort of a starter house now we’ve got enough food to last through the night easily we just gotta cook it all and now it’s time where we can actually get some building going on it’s a pretty awesome fine for

Us here so maybe we’ll get lucky and we at least got some coal in a wheat and a buried treasure map are we anywhere near by this thing not quite at all maybe that looks like a bunch of water and way off in that direction right we can see

South in east so it’s very much down there from where we’re holding it facing north right here let’s see if there’s something else in this place well we got a bunch more wheat and other stone axe I think that buried treasure map right there is just gonna go to that last one

We had so we can just leave that for now and swim on out of here or very very slowly and that about do it there’s a lot of ruins down here though look that’s a huge one oh now there’s some skeletons down there too and some drown I’m

Getting out of here we are not equipped to fight those things but there is some sugarcane right over here so I think a big thing about getting started in a new survival world especially if you’re focusing on building it’s a lot about just kind of getting started with your

Very first starter house this doesn’t have to be where you’re gonna be living for the rest of your entire life I’m a big person on I just boot up a world and that’s what I work with I don’t need to go find that perfect seed I know a lot

Of people really really are picky about what they’re building around everything like that but for me personally when I’m thinking about setting up a world I’m thinking about I want to find at least the type of biome I want to work in and from there I’m gonna customize it as I

Want to you all know me by now probably at this point that I’m a little crazy when it comes to terraforming I like to do a lot of terraforming work so to get ourselves started right over here I found this awesome area that we’ve been kind of skirting around so far I didn’t

Even really even look at the seed map or anything for this world just kind of came across it as I was jumping around here and running around and this thing is pretty perfect those mountains over there are gonna make a great backdrop for what we’re doing we got a spruce

Forest off there into the distance that you can barely see peeking over the ledge and I think this is going to be a really cool spot to get ourselves start so I was thinking this sunflower biome field over here would be a good place to call home for now there’s quite

A few trees around us that we can chop down get a bunch of stuff and then we can actually start doing some building and actually figuring out all that good goodness that we have going on for us so I think now I need to spend a little bit

Of time just get in that first resource grind out of the way our house that we’re gonna be using to start the night out probably not the most important thing but we can use something just to keep yourself shield and then I’ll probably do a lot of underground mining

Well that is going along so that we can at least have something that we can do there so if you want to get as much done as you possibly can at once spend the first date we’re not even gonna we’re not even gonna use this map that’s just

Let’s just get that out here spend your first date above-ground doing all that stuff collecting all the resources you might need and then when you get to that first night time just pop right underground and farm up as much cobblestone as you can and this right

Here is about the most of a humble abode that I could get to get ourselves through the night here we’re cooking up a few little fishies we got our fishy snacks in hand so we can actually get some food in us but that’s kind of the whole process of surviving that first

Night right we don’t really need too much overhead we got those little guys right there acquired with all of our wool and everything like that and now we can just set about in doing all of the building things now I know this might seem like a little bit of a weird video

For what I typically do but the one that prompted this actually was the fact that people have constantly been reaching out to me in twitch chat being like how do you set your world up like how did you get your world to where it is now and

What can we do to like get to that point as well like what can we do to get ourselves all the way up there so that we can have a lot of things that we enjoy doing we can have a lot of buildings that we look back on now a lot

Of people have been like do I just go gather resources forever and then start building everything or do I just jump right into the building and I think for me it’s like kind of an in-between of I always like to build as I gather resources if you’re new into the

Survival thing or if you’re new into this quote forever role those kind of qualities I kind of call it here is that you really want to be building and focusing on whatever you’re having fun with if you don’t want to build for the day or you don’t want to gather

Resources for the day but you still want to play Minecraft Spencer I’m doing the other thing maybe spend some time going throughout and just focusing on what builds are around me that I can work on right now that I already have the resources for or better

Yet if you run that kind of like the grinding mood think about like okay what can I do that’s gonna get me more resources in the future potentially and there we go we got our first iron now that is pretty perfect we can at least go get some iron tools to save ourselves

Here but the big thing is that there’s always something to do in your Minecraft world like that’s the thing it’s a sandbox game there’s always something else that we can do what I focused on when I first got set up is I built things that we’re gonna last me for a

Little while and at least keep me going then I didn’t really have to worry too much about I didn’t have to commit too much time to doing so you didn’t see me building like a giant mob farm that was gonna produce 50,000 drops an hour or I

Spent 30-plus hours trying to build it because that would kind of defeat the purpose like what was I gonna be doing with all of that time like I could have way better use that time to help create and do things that I want to do instead of feeling like I’m obligated to be

Creating all of that stuff and like creating that mob farm so I quote have resources for later as a few people are saying that like they always get stuck at that point where they like I want to build in this world but I can’t build on

The world until I have all these farms set up it’s like well don’t or maybe find a smaller one like on source block our first mob farm that we had over there that the entire server relied on was one that vintage beef had created that Louis literally a zombie spawner he

Found a zombie spawner underground and we used that as our way of getting around and getting some resources getting some rotten flesh so that we could trade with villagers and doing that type of stuff just start minimal you don’t have to build the big Omega farms that you see all these crazy

Youtubers coming up with all over the place they’re like this is the best thing this is a fastest way to get gunpowder fastest way to do this it’s like well you won’t even be able to use 90 percent of that right now and probably when you get started most of

The resources you are actually going to need a lot of is this lovely tree right over here so spending all the time getting everything else probably could be used may be doing this or you’re gonna spend a lot of that time just grinding and building a lot of those slabs and

Stairs and whatever you might need getting a bunch of stone slabs and all that stuff so that you can actually build like the mob spawning platforms and everything and all that you’re spending hours gathering resources because you don’t really have enchanted tools yet right so spending that time

Just building and enjoying the game and progressing and honestly to get yourself started in Minecraft a big thing you should probably do is a lot of caving I find that I usually spend like if I get started I get typically two to three stacks of wood logs just to have and go

From there which is some stone axes or something takes a few minutes to gather that all may be more than a few minutes but you all get the point and then after that just go live underground get down to that wide level 11 or Y level 13 whichever you think is personally better

For the diamonds but I think I’m more of a the wide level 12 person right in the middle but anyways back on topic we have a giant ravine here there’s not really much data there’s a lot of iron though we could use that for ourselves but the

Thing is that like iron is good to go iron is very good to gather as you’re going around gather all of that that you’re seeing when you’re moving around here especially if you’re down mining drop everything else to get iron because that’s gonna lead you towards a beacon

Which once you get your beacon set up that’s gonna be a lot of the hard work done and the hard work out of the way for how to progress and get crazy amounts of resources like if I didn’t have a beacon in my own survival world

You all would see me just going around and just spending hours upon hours upon hours to get resources that we can now get in maybe a half hour like we do a stream every other week where we gather resources for three hours and that sets

Me up for the next X number of streams that we’re gonna do we spend a lot of time just gathering a lot of blocks we’re gonna use and then we’re done like we don’t really have to worry about it at all so spending a little bit of time

Right now just to be like oh you know maybe in my inventory is full but do I really need this a little bit of cobblestone on me or can I get rid of that and keep like another half stack of iron ore that I can smelt up and

Eventually get a bunch of ingots and work towards that wither kill that’s probably a more important idea alright just went over to the spruce forests gathered up some of those trees put them on top of our house as in the form of stairs and it’s looking pretty good

We’ve got everything around here figured out at this point got a brand new I’m you’re pick-axes I’ve been doing some mining and all that good stuff but now we can set up our farm our food source and for me personally I think one of the best details you can add really into any

Minecraft world is a giant wheat field I’m obsessed with them I know it’s probably a problem but I think they’re one of the best ways you can just detail out an area and just make it look so lifelike there’s just the color that you get with the farmland and everything else you get

With them just for me it’s just like one of my favorite things to do in the game I know they can take a while to plant in everything and you know dealing with all the hoeing and everything like that but it’s very worth it it’s so worth it so

We can just get a bunch of them out here and you can go upwards of four blocks out and then go one two three and then that’s kind of the max square we could do from this side and then we can count out one two three and then four here as

Well and we definitely don’t have enough seeds to fill up this entire thing but just gives you an idea of what we can do here what we can do to make sure that we’re setting ourselves up for success because you just want to get as many

Seeds as you can because trust me later on it gets a little tiresome especially when you start planting your decorative fields and you don’t want to be harvesting those things every single time over and over and over again it can be a little annoying gathering up shulker boxes upon choker boxes of seeds

After you have planted your 30th wheat field so getting this farm started up early and just harvest it every time it’s full let it drop off and you’re gonna be good to go on that one and a great thing to do while this thing is taking a while to grow since we have

That fish on us that’s currently back in our chest we can actually spend some more time mining with this brand-new iron pickaxe and work down towards getting some diamonds our crops are growing up top and we’re down at Y level 14 right now that you can see on the

Left hand side 13 12 and then down to 11 and we’re getting some redstone right off of the bat with this one which means that it is time to start our lovely lovely strip mining mission to see if we can’t find some diamonds which would really really be nice at this point in

Time if we can get some those early ones and then we can get some obsidian make an enchanting table and we’re good to go at that point you probably want to build your second house or a second structure or maybe if you want to just keep working in like a basement area or

Something I personally like to as getting these second and third like points built up inside of my world like where I hit a milestone I like to give them something special I don’t like to just cram them in the corner so after we get this thing I think we got to build

Another house or that one just so it can have a place to live after clearing out a coal vein we’ve got it we’ve got our first diamonds and a great thing to do when you we got at least two of them that’s good a great thing to do however

When you find some diamonds is that look all the way around them and make sure you’re not gonna get screwed over by some lava let’s try and box these guys in here keep searching around whoo that’s gonna that’s not gonna be a good one and it

Looks like we’re right on the edge of a lava lake but we got four diamonds right here ready to go five diamonds six diamonds seven diamonds oh that’s looking and potentially lost diamonds in there and that’s not gonna work out very well that one’s blocked off with some

Stuff back there though with another cobblestone block for us and it looks like we can do that and we need to just get right under here and this is how we can fully box in our diamonds make sure we’re not losing anything and make sure

We can actually get all of these ones so that is absolutely awesome we’ve got six diamonds right here I believe or seven diamonds it looks like we should be good seven diamonds which means we can make a pickaxe and we actually have enough to be able to get that in chanting table

Now we just need to get some leather and all of that fancy stuff I’m hearing some mobs though well that would be a nice little kit where there’s no mops up here what’s this there’s some iron back there that’s definitely gonna be worth gathering ooh what do we got over here

Looks like not a whole lot of stuff that we really more died hey hey check that out and that’s a trap above us right there and there’s some obsidian down there I don’t think on me to make any more stuff but we’ve got some more diamonds that is awesome and those are

Those are it’s evil diamonds they’re gonna drop you right into some lava there so we gotta do the same tactic on these guys it looks like it’s only two of them though so you know it’s not gonna be too crazy of a diamond spree but that brings us up to nine diamonds

Right there which means we can make a diamond block we’ve got our diamond pickaxe in hand now we are actually on the third day right now so you know we’ve been working pretty quick we got a whole diamond pickaxe and six more diamonds and there’s some cows over here

So we can start gathering as much stuff as we possibly can you got to remember though you don’t need the exact top level and chance to get yourself started you can save up for those if you want to go gather about a bunch of the cows like that guy right

There didn’t give us a single bit of leather so maybe we should have waited to get a little bit more of our wheat grown up breed up some of the cows and then go on our slaughtering spree but we can at least start getting a little bit

Of leather here to contribute a little bit to the bookshelves again no leather though that’s kind of a problem but what I want to do right now is we need to figure out a way to grab some obsidian we did see all that that lava down there

And we do have a water source so maybe we jump right back down there all right I know we’re here for building stuff but very quickly though getting lava this is how you do it just place your water source right there and then just come in through here and it keeps that water

Flowing and just start breaking the stuff right like this that we can have right here and we’ll see that obsidian when it breaks in a year from now there we go ice bucket challenge get that one you we didn’t want to lose it to any potential lava down below place it that

Thing right back down there and go back to farming this stuff up because as soon as we get all of these worked out and gathered up here as soon as we break this one that water is gonna move over on top of us and then it’s gonna if

There’s lava below it would quickly turn that into obsidian and keep us safe it has been a little while since we last spoke and I’ve got a bunch of sugarcane over here you can see a bunch of a little lovely pieces of leather in my inventory

Still waiting to gather up a little bit more that sugarcane to keep crafting some more books but we got 21 of them so far which means we got some more glass cooking up in there to make some lovely windows and coming over into this structure I’ve kind of prepared it to be

Able to hold our enchanting stuff so we got a little bit of like a yurt style thing going on back here but we just plopped that guy down there in the center and you can see that we can already get unbreaking one perfect right best thing ever then coming back in here

We can just plop some windows in to make it a little bit nicer and a little bit brighter in here we got a lot of skylight coming in and that it’ll be pretty fantastic and we can get those slaps back for ourself apparently and then let’s do one of you and that’ll be

Good and now I just need to get these bookshelves in here but you all kind of know the way moving forward from here I hope this video was helpful for you all for everybody who might be considering starting up a survival world this is how I would do it starting up to tiny
