This is one of the earliest songs created, back when I still defaulted to bass notes for “left hand” piano. This song is actually when I started transitioning to using guitar instead of bass. I was just using guitar as an accent note, but realized it sounded a lot better than bass. Fortunately though, I think the bass still works well in this song. It complements the drum line well and is meant to be soft and stilted (which is the main problem with using it as a main harmony). This song is one of my favorites, even though it’s the oldest upload. I only wish I did the entire song instead of just the anime OP part. The only other nitpick I have for this song is I followed the music sheet too closely instead of listening to the original song as well. Main discrepancy is the flutes here that form the main melody, which are sung words in the original song. The rhythm for each repeat in the noteblocks is the same, but the actual rhythm of the sung words varies on each repeat, which I wish I had captured. All in all though, I’m very happy with how this song turned out, especially given how early I made it. I may remake this song (the full version) with all the new techniques I’ve figured out. Remaking songs is pretty far off into the future though – the todo list is already long enough as is. Hope you enjoyed the song and the commentary 🙂 Thanks for watching! Video Information

A Minecraft note block rendition of the first opening of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The song is “Again” by Yui.
Noteblocks were placed manually while WorldEdit was used to mirror and copy the foundation. The noteblocks are placed on different tracks to allow for volume dynamics. Everything is mirrored to provide a correct stereo effect.
Other than WorldEdit, everything is 100% Vanilla Minecraft, and the sound in the video is as heard in-game (no editing or post-processing). No external software (such as Noteblock Studio) was used.
