Exploring AI Adventures in Minecraft
The Erasmus+ KA2 School Project SAINT – handS on introduction to Artificial Intelligence in primary educatioN using minecrafT is an innovative initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our societies. The project seeks to provide an engaging hands-on approach to learning and bridge the gap between the place given to AI in our societies and the low awareness amongst the general population.
Engaging Learning with Minecraft
The project will utilize Minecraft, a popular video game, as an innovative teaching tool. Minecraft has been widely used in various educational projects and offers a creative and interactive platform for learning. Through specific activities and challenges aligned with the AI4K12 guidelines and the 5 big ideas of AI, children aged 9-12 years old will have the opportunity to develop AI-related skills in a fun and engaging manner.
Key Concepts of AI
The AI Adventures in Minecraft will focus on teaching the following key concepts of AI:
- Perception: Understanding how AI systems perceive and interpret the world around them.
- Representation & Reasoning: Exploring how AI systems represent knowledge and make decisions based on reasoning.
- Learning: Introducing the concept of machine learning and how AI systems can improve through experience.
- Natural Interactions: Understanding how AI systems can interact with humans and the environment in a natural and intuitive way.
- Societal Impact: Discussing the broader impact of AI on society and ethical considerations.
