Today we’re going to be taking another look at the Copper bulb and showing you some builds that you need in your Minecraft world links to where you can find uh the inspiration for these builds or the original creators are in the description so I encourage you to check That out but let’s get started my hope is that you can take some of these Concepts and really use them as your own to build some of this or uh kind of Tinker with the copper bulb a little bit starting off is uh a door Design This is Basically another version of the T flip-flop which is something that I’ve talked a lot about with the copper bulb uh but this is built into a pretty practical use so iron doors are fantastic because they will stop all mobs uh zombies uh can’t break through Them uh every type of mob is stopped by an iron door and so having an iron door that you can easily open and close is awesome and being able to completely control it is great but here’s the problem problem a normal button with an iron door just really doesn’t last long Enough it’s really difficult to fit through the opening while you only have a few moments and a lever is nice but once you get on the other side of the door well now you can’t close the door because the lever on the other side is keeping it open this will solve all of Those problems with the push of a button you can open the door it stays open and then pushing the button on the other side will close it making sure that no mobs get in here’s what the Redstone looks like when we remove the wall all you’re doing is Having this button power this copper bulb a comparator is noticing if it’s on or off that signal gets Amplified to open up the door and that’s all that’s happening now there’s a few downsides to this design and that’s why I made so many to show you a few other options for You and one downside is that to hide this Redstone you do need to kind of cover it with other blocks and that makes this a hallway door instead of just like a wall door um and so I’ve come up with a few other uh options and I also kind of want you to have your your brain kind of think about uh what is going on here so in this design I’ve moved it so that we could in fact have this be uh a type of wall you can see a little bit of redstone right there uh But this one we push the button the door stays up open and you push the button again and it closes so here instead of it being sort of in the wall over on the other side we have almost all of this built underground and uh this copper Bulb is what is getting flicked on and off from the buttons on either side comparator is here now you have your Redstone but instead of a repeater pushing the Redstone back into that block we’ve uh placed a block there and that will be the one that powers on and Off that door so a bit more compact packed except you have the copper bulb on the bottom here uh which some people may not like you also may be thinking to yourself well if you’re putting buttons here why not just switch this out with pressure plates like couldn’t that work Just the same instead of a button and your problem is that the pressure plate takes way too long to depress and release um so you may be thinking to yourself like okay well if you push it on this side and then you push it on this side well couldn’t you have a Closed door where you push it here and then on the other side you push it here and then it would close well like I said the timing just doesn’t quite work out that way because as you walk onto the other pressure plate the first one has Not released now you can kind of change that a little bit with some timing so in this case I have the pressure plate just far enough away from the door that the player running through it will be able to uh make the timing work so that once You hit the second pressure plate it will close the door behind you if you miss that second pressure plate the door will stay open until you push it another time so kind of a good situation to keep that door open and closed however you want now the Redstone for this is a bit Different here we have a redstone line going to a single bulb that will uh directly power the block that the iron door is sitting on and that’s how we pull that off but what if you don’t want to B dig into the ground or the sides And you want something on top of your build so we have that as well so this one is a button in between the two doors works the same and you can see that that just kind of comes down uh The Edge there and then there will be a repeater Here which repeats that signal into the iron door to turn it on and off and that is all the Redstone there if you want to build that but all of these different designs uh kind of use the same type of concept of the copper bulb the comparator and Then some way to get the Redstone over to the iron door to open it and this is probably my favorite of all of the designs because one thing you’ll notice is that there is a big delay when the door closes right I’ll hit this button and this door won’t close for a little While and the reason is because the button is actually causing Redstone to keep the door open so as you see the button is pressed down and once it releases then the door closes in this design I fixed that issue so that the moment you hit the button the door Closes which if there’s mobs on your tail uh that’s what I want okay I want this door to close immediately I don’t want it to close like a second later like zombies coming I’m like okay close door close okay there it’s finally closed uh and all we’ve done is just Move the button one block away so that uh it doesn’t actually affect the door directly and this is also nice because it is the simplest Redstone by far all we have is a copper bulb and a comparator into that block right there and that is all of the Redstone you need In order to have the button work effectively and just like the other doors we can close it from the other side which is the huge Advantage the other nice thing is that this really is an option that the walls can be anywhere right uh this Redstone is completely Hidden it’s super easy to hide and and like I’ve said it’s the simplest of all of the redstones next completely different type of build this is a multi selector and so you can choose whichever option you want from this and it’ll reset the previous option this was designed by crafty masterman and I Really wanted to highlight this because it is nostalgic for me one of the very first Redstone builds I ever made was a multi-track selector it was a 16 uh like destination selector for uh rail cards and I remember making a tilable selector and the Redstone was so complicated and This is so simple it is so dead simple this is the entire Redstone here I’m going to walk through block by block how to build it um now it does have one limitation and that is that uh if it is longer than 15 blocks kind of won’t work Basically 15 blocks is its uh maximum and so I have 16 here and as you can see if I get down here to the 16th one uh it will not reset the uh previous selection and that is because this Redstone line isn’t repeated in any way so if you keep This just to 15 long then you don’t need any extra Redstone and also uh you could if you wanted this to be like a 16 selector you could also just remember that limitation and just make sure if you’re trying to go from this all the Way over here just just click one in the middle first and then click the last one and it’ll work all fun making this is super simple I’m going to show you just one tile and then you can obviously tile it all you want we’re going to put down A dropper then an observer observing that dropper a solid block and a button on that then a waxed copper bulb above that on the other side we’re going to take an observer and we’re going to make sure that it is facing upwards so that little dot is going to be at the bottom That is going to be observing a comparator out of the bulb then down here we’re going to put down glass and a piece of redstone dust and that is an entire slice of uh this multi- selector and then your output for whenever you want to do redstone stuff is going to be This comparator right here so if you take these outputs then that is how you have it selected which is awesome I love this thing binary everybody loves it uh now I’ve seen this a few times but honestly I didn’t like how it was explained so if you’re you’re like about To skip past this part of the video stick around for just a moment and let me help you explain why a binary counter may be useful to you and kind of uh make this a little bit easier to understand so right here all we have is a copper Bulb followed by a comparator followed by a copper bulb and a comparator and it just goes on that’s literally all the Redstone that we’re doing here and this will be able to count up I’m going to be counting how many times I flick this lever on right not just flick it on and Off that would you you know like every time I do that it’d be one so that’s on and off that is one count and so not two you know I’m not counting two anyway I hope that makes sense so if I turn on once you’ll notice that all of the bulbs Light up for the first time and then I’m going to uh turn this lever off and from now on we will be able to count up in binary yes okay stay with me stay with me here so let’s let’s count how many times I flick this lever now I’m not Actually counting but the binary is counting and how we can think of this is if the copper bulb is on then it is a zero and if it is off then it is a one so I click that lever I don’t know how many times but we’re going to find out From what the binary is telling us and so if we look at this remember on a zero off is one so this is 01 1 0 0 what number is that I don’t know but the internet can tell us if we go to decimal to binary. proo thank you to whoever Runs this website and uh choose binary to decibel remember the number that I said before it was 00110 and 24 that’s how many times I click the lover so while it may seem like scary and like oh my gosh how am I ever going to figure out binary um it’s Really really not honestly and if you ever never needed to count anything in a Minecraft world and you wanted to keep a long digit count well you can with this like instead of a lever here if I had a daylight detector I could tell how many days had Passed in my Minecraft world and it would just automatically keep count and it’s so darn simple technically I needed to set it on the copper block itself just so you know that’s actually how it would be uh so if I set it to midnight and then I set it today And it would update the clock so midnight day bam so right now we are at 0011 1 0 0011 1 0 0 28 that’s how many times it’s counted by the way if you ever want to know how what’s the highest number you can count to with a build all You have to do is add ones in here so one one one okay this is maximum is seven that Max is 15 3 1 63 127 and we actually have right now seven copper bulbs in our build so our current clock can count up to 127 if we need that to Be 255 we just need to add an extra copper block so 51 I don’t think I’m going to count up to 511 but honestly you can just tell like okay I want it to count 4,000 times well now I need to have 1 2 3 4 5 6 12 Copper bulbs because I have 12 ones in here that means with these 12 copper bulbs I can count up to 4,000 we’re going to be here a while it’s also just so fun to see it go like every once in a while one will just like send down the Line H there it goes and it changes and in this configuration where we are have our input on the right hand side and we’re going to the left hand side I like this because that means that you can just have 0 000000 0 and uh it doesn’t Matter how big you’ve gotten your number so far it makes binary easier next is a lock and this one is Again by crafty Master man because honestly it is the simplest Redstone I have seen and so I love it and so here’s how it works is Once you put in the correct code and my correct code is uh the first three of these copper bulbs lit up then that door will open there you go the code is correct the door has opened and I could pass through and this is all of the Redstone right here this is it I’m going to do a step-by-step tutorial just so you know but it’s so easy the other cool thing is that this code could be as long as 15 as well so right now I have it set up for six it could be as I mean it Could it could be as small as one let’s make one that is uh let’s say uh just four long so we’re going to start off by putting down some Redstone then we’re going to put down copper bulbs on top of that then we’re going to put down just Solid blocks behind that and we’re going to put down some Stone buttons on or they could be really any button a button on top of the copper bulb next we’re going to grab comparators and we’re going to put those on the back of the copper bulb those are going to be Pointing into these observers and you want the dot to be facing the back of the whole Contraption so that needs to be uh facing away from the copper bulb next I’m going to put down just some solid blocks we’re going to eventually put down some coer bulbs right here but Not quite yet because we want to put in our uh combination so whatever the combination is maybe uh it’s all but the last one lit uh we want to set up our combination perfectly so that’s what we want to be the correct answer then we’re going to put down our copper bulbs in The back and if we have anything that is a incorrect answer this Redstone line will be lit up and then once we get the correct answer it will turn off which is darn cool and so any of the other combinations this Redstone line down here will still be turned on until we Finally get the right one and it turns off I shifted the whole build down a bit to hide the Redstone right here and uh I have the exact same uh situation except that the uh combination is different on this one it’s the last three blocks and Then the door opens and I move through and as you can see you can have this where there’s not like you know it’s not floating Redstone stuff uh going on in order to turn on uh this door just to uh show you I have the red stone which is Typically turned on right if you have the wrong combination the Redstone line will be on I have that going into a block with a torch on it to invert the signal and then when I have the correct combination that torch will turn on powering that block actually which opens Up the iron door moving on to another type of of redstone build this is a display and uh my copper bulbs are aging they’re oxidizing in front of my eyes uh I want to show you first a behavior that is different about the copper bulb than other Redstone uh in Minecraft as you See I have this kind of wall set up with these buttons and as I’m hitting the buttons only one copper bulb is lighting up over here I have Redstone lamps and these are like the traditional way that Redstone works as I hit the button you’ll notice five lamps light up now The Redstone lamps don’t stay lit because that’s just not what they do but you can see that this one button is not only powering the redstone lamp behind the button but also the adjacent lamps and that’s just cuz that’s how Redstone typically works the copper bulb just has A different Behavior so that it won’t power the blocks around it that makes making displays with this super duper easy so if I wanted to write out a message in this it is darn easy to do because I don’t have to worry about lighting up any of the adjacent blocks And then once you have your message written well this side it has all these buttons on it so it doesn’t look super great but the other side it doesn’t have the buttons so it’s much much easier to read and it’s really as simple as that to make some pixel art with uh copper Bulbs now I did want to give a tip that I saw online and uh that is that there’s not a lot of contrast between a powered onbb and a powered off bulb when this tip isn’t applied but if you add tinted glass you can see that it becomes much More contrasted once again without the tinted glass with the tinted glass it is way way easier to see finally the last of the Redstone builds is a indicator to see when a chest is full so this is a completely full chest and you’ll know because the copper bulb below it uh is Fully lit up not all the way full not lit up all the way full lit up this is great if you have an item sorder and you want to make sure that none of your chests get backed up and the other great thing about this build is that all the Redstone is below into behind the chests so you can still have Hoppers going into the top of the chest and because Hoppers or transparent blocks you can still even open the chests and just uh as you’ll see this one that’s like half full if I Go in here and fill in the rest all but one and there we go then the copper bulb turns on and uh once again the Redstone is very simple I’ll still do a step by step the other great thing is that this is tilable so you can have them right Next to each other as you’re seeing right right now so the first step is to build out a line of copper bulbs then I like to actually grab The Observers next and put them down because you want the Red Dot to be be facing those bulbs and Uh it can be a bit difficult to do that once the rest of the blocks are down then we’re going to put down some solid blocks and then we’re going to put down our chests like so behind that we’re going to put down some comparators and These are going to be comparing what is inside of the chests next we need to dig a little bit of a trough so that we can make sure the observers are looking up at the sky here and it’s it can be a bit difficult to find the edge especially if These uh comparators are still there there we go that’s a little bit easier for me to see The Edge there and I’m going to put those back next put down a line of redstone blocks and then put down Redstone over all of that you may want to change up your copper bulbs uh Just break them and put them back down so that they’re all off now uh what will happen here is when this gets all the way full it will output a redstone signal and that Redstone signal will be a redstone signal of 15 uh and so this Is also a redstone signal of uh 15 it drops down to 14 right here but once this is full it’ll output 15 which Updates this Observer updating that one updating the copper bulb and just to double check that everything is working let go there and there we go the chest Is full the copper bulb turns on there you have it a whole bunch of different red Stone builds with the copper bulb that you can hopefully use in your Minecraft world I so hope that you found this video useful and that you will use it in your Minecraft creations thanks so Much for watching I’ll see you guys in a future video and make sure you stick here to the channel for future videos Video Information
