An Epic New Village! | Minecraft Survival 1.16 Let’s Play

Hello everyone and welcome to episode 31 of my let’s play i feel like with every good let’s play world or just minecraft world in general the world kind of goes through these phases it shifts and it changes and it evolves as things change and grow especially if they’re long term

Even just growing with how your life is moving in certain times what did i what do i have anything in here oh i kind of do wait that’s kind of valuable um sorry distracted right so the reason that i’m bringing up these changes is because i’ve had quite a lot of inspiration

Lately and since the last episode was the world tour and download i thought that now was a good time to kind of use this inspiration and add some new things to the world this world as it is right now is absolutely beautiful i mean i’m

Not planning on ending it here but if i did i could be really proud of this world as it is exactly in this moment but i’m not done oh no i’m not done but in order for me to continue my work in this world there needs to be some

Upgrades made so today we are going to be moving to our industrial area here i’ve decided that we’re gonna call this the industrial area it’s it’s a big flat slab of grass but it shall be the industrial area because i’ve decided it um we’re gonna work here today basically i’ve decided that we

Need a mob farm because i’m using these rockets quite often and although i have been using my looting sword to get gunpowder and it’s been really easy for the amount of episodes we’ve had it would be lovely to not have to do that today we’re going to be cleaning up this

Area and creating a very simple little underground mob farm design over here the idea of doing it over here is that hopefully it’ll be able to collect some drops at the same time as i’m afking my iron farm which would be ideal we’re gonna take out a hole right here and

Place a mob farm in it by nem bomb i’ll link the design for the mob farm that i’m using down below i’m sure if you’ve been on youtube or in the minecraft community for any amount of time you’ve probably already seen this design done several times but i’ll link it just in case

Now you may also be wondering why today why today jim why are we doing a mob farm today of all days why on episode 31 why not on episode 5 when you probably could have used one a little earlier um well basically this is going to do two things for us a

Well mob drops are great but b i really just need some blocks like i kind of need some dirt for a product that’s coming up and i need some cobblestone or smooth stone or whatever for a product that’s coming up so this is kind of just good for me to

Gather materials i just i just need to dig a big hole and right now is a good time so let’s go ahead and start a time lapse progress on the whole is going well however as you can see i have encountered a tiny little problem the

Mine shaft is here it continues i think this is the same one that’s in the village i don’t really know but either way we can’t really set up a mob spawner around here until this entire thing is lit up because it just won’t be very efficient luckily that shouldn’t be too difficult

I hope but well it’d be better if i didn’t have to listen to all the mobs what the heck i should have brought my shield my bad so yeah progress is a little bit halted in this area at least until i get this sorted luckily for me though we don’t necessarily need

This in this episode and what i really needed was the stone from digging all of this out and luckily i have also that look at this heck yeah this is so much stone i’m so excited for this it means that we can start any stone-reliant project that we wish speaking of stone-reliant projects

You may be thinking well jim we don’t have any stone-reliant projects you haven’t started any i i know i know i haven’t started anything we’re gonna start a brand new project everyone and this might make you a little nervous because i know that we have unfinished

Projects around the world and also i do want to work on my treehouse area over here i have not forgotten it but i’ve been inspired because well in the scale of this world i haven’t really taken on anything super massive we’ve been playing it kind of conservatively and sticking to

Slightly smaller builds kind of dotted around the world and while that is amazing i have had the itch recently to oh why is there fish hello what okay well that’s cool um i’ve had the itch recently to take on a slightly larger build we have this area right over here where

We spawned in and it’s occurred to me as i was giving all of you the last download that it might be kind of important for me to actually do something with this entire area i mean look at it it’s got like the best view of everything that we’ve worked on the tree

The temple you can even see the pirate slightly over there like you could just see everything if i turned out my red notices you could see the witch’s hat it’s beautiful from here but we have nothing over here so we never have any reason to visit and i think

That that’s real shame so if you’re forgetting from episode one the exact spawn point of this world is over there by that sand that’s exactly where we spawned in i walked over here i took a lilac from here i built this crafting table and then i made a boat and crossed

Over to the village that was the start of the series so i think that it would be really cool to get a little dock area started over here so that we can kind of begin on a building process on this side of things first things first though if i want to

Do anything with this area we need to collect some wood and clear some of these trees so it’s back to time lapse time enjoy with the trees cleared it’s much easier to see what’s going on in this area and i actually cannot wait to get to work

This is so refreshing to have a new start and to be able to look at everything that we’ve worked on over here while i’m building is amazing so we’re gonna get started now and i think the first thing that we’re going to do is just build up a wall

All along here we’re going to start with some docks kind of coming off of this little island slash piece of land i don’t actually know if it’s an island update it’s not an island it’s it’s connected um kind of looks like an island though so that’s good right this

Will look so good though so let me while i’m in the air get a good like visualization of what i want here so i want a dock going across this way and i think a little one across this way and then kind of something in the middle

Here hopefully this will work out but for now we’re just going to use all of the stone that we just got to kind of make this wall so i’ve brought over all of my materials this is my chest of stone stuff this is my chest of all of the blocks that i

Sort of just collected and now there’s nothing left to do other than just sort of build up this wall i don’t have a ton of materials yet so i’m not sure if i’m going to build it all the way down you can see that this is quite deep here oh

And there’s a ravine cool but maybe we could do something with that but yeah i’m just gonna get it kinda in place and we might have to bring it all the way down a little later the wall is looking quite a lot better already but there’s lots more details to

Do first of all i’m gonna need so many slabs because we are going to add the docks kind of as a slab just kind of right here and i think we’ll do about three out my lights are activated we’ll do about three out from the main stone wall for

Now and then we can have kind of little docks just jutting off of this hopefully this will work out the way that i want it to and give us a nice walkway along here i’m also going to need an easy way up and down so i’m

Going to break this area right here and just add in a little stairwell not sure exactly how the stairs should go maybe like this i think for right now this works pretty well to be able to get up and down onto these lower docks we do have to kind of

Expand it one more though at the very very least if you can’t tell by the way i’m kind of gearing up over on this side to be doing a bit of a larger build in this world i’ve kind of toned everything down from my normal level of building

So everything is a little bit smaller than the scales i’ve normally done and that means that i’m in this kind of weird position where i grew my channel to about 200 000 subscribers by doing these massive creative builds and i was known as a builder but then i switched

My content around and i decided that i wanted to try out personality based content instead and when i did this it was amazing but it came with some changes one of these changes that is a bit weird is that currently very few of my audience members actually know that i can build

Which is odd for me because that’s the main thing that i used to do but let me show on screen right now some screenshots of my older builds that are videos on this channel from like 2018-2019 these builds are amazing and i love doing them but they got really

Exhausting to work on so i’m glad that i’ve been switching it up and working on new types of content that said though i still would love the opportunity to kind of work on my building skill a little bit more and flex just a little bit in

This world i don’t want to make some massive mega build and kind of ruin the scale of everything else that’s going on but i would like to do a build that’s just slightly more technical and leveled up so that’s what this area over here is going

To be for gosh this water is so deep i think i’m going to wait to put the pillars all the way down there until i have enough materials for sure for it because i haven’t run a survival series that isn’t super building based before i’m kind of realizing that there’s

Different phases with a survival world that i hadn’t really accounted for before when i was doing more of a let’s build and i’m honestly really enjoying kind of discovering that about myself maybe we’ll do another doc like right here let’s try it recently on my channel i started a hardcore series and being

Back at the beginning part of the vanilla game which i haven’t been in a while reminded me of a lot of things and it made me a lot more motivated for this world which is a little bit odd but that is definitely what has sparked my inspiration to kind of build here

Whoa dolphin doing tricks so cute ultimately i think that i’ve learned so much about myself and how i want to build and make videos through this series and i’m not ready to end it yet which means there’s so much more that we need to be able to do and we need to

Kind of move through different phases of the world to kind of make up for the fact that we’re in end game now we should be doing end game stuff end game builds i think it’s time i think it’s time that we flex a little bit i absolutely love

How the stock area is looking so far i really like it i think this is going to make such a difference to the area just having it be really built up and having a place to actually come across here look at the contrast right the wooden village right here the little fortress

And then we switch over and it’s bigger and it’s built up and it’s gonna be a lot more detailed and a lot more epic and it’s still gonna fit in the scale i think that’s such an important part of this entire thing like let me get through the bubbles

The scale of this project is not going to be massive it’s not going to be bigger than the player and it’s not going to overshadow what’s going on over here it’s just going to be a little bit fancier and i’m really excited to work on that since we’re building a little

Bit farther away from our main areas today i am going to start by just building up a building where i can kind of keep some of my supplies and hopefully work out of while i’m around here so let’s get started with that so i want this to be like almost that

Classic medieval look for this building over here and it’s going to be like a merchant slash dock sort of operating area which i think will fit in with the fact that we’re gonna have a bunch of barrels in here for building stuff so i’m gonna start a

Building over here and this is gonna be like a little overseeing area and we’ll start a building over here about five blocks in so already this build is quite a lot bigger than my normal builds but i’m not going to do it in too much of a different style whereas these buildings

Over here just have a pretty simple a-frame i’m going to do a slightly different shape here where we kind of stagger it upwards a bit more but it’s still pretty standard for building a minecraft i’m not exactly innovating anything here it’s just fitting in with the world but being slightly more fancy

If that makes sense in order to know where my rooves connect up i always mark everything out in full blocks first and then i add in the stairs and slaps that i’ll need later this helps me out a lot with figuring out how everything connects it’s honestly a lifesaver

And after some simple framing of two of the rooms that is what we have that’s actually pretty cool it’s again much larger build than the builds we’ve been doing across the water there but i think it’s really beautiful and it’s gonna fit into the area now all i have

To do is fill it in this should be pretty easy first thing i’m going to do with this bigger building is just fill in the roof we’re going to be using faux blocks for this entire process if i need to come in with stairs and slabs kind of

Fix it up then i will but for now we’re just going to be using full blocks filling in rooves is always so awkward i’m kind of regretting my decision here to go with all wood although i do like it for the theme and it’s fairly simple

I’d almost like to have a color here of some sort or maybe at the very least some soul sand like i did over in the mega tiger to kind of just break it up a little bit i’m not sure but i’m gonna go with the

Wood for now just to get it filled in so i can see my shape but i think in the end we’ll probably end up going with some sort of color here the issue is i have so many areas in my world at the moment i’ve kind of used every color

That i want to use so i might have to think of something new anyways here’s our roof so far i think it’s coming together well i mean with no details whatsoever but still it looks pretty cool now the walls are the next most difficult thing and to be

Honest i wasn’t sure what block i wanted to use but i realized that one of my favorite wall blocks hasn’t actually been used in this world yet so i think we’re going to use birchwood more specifically we’re going to use some stripped birch in these walls and

For the first time i think in this world maybe second time i don’t know but we’re gonna use depth in our walls i think we’ve done it in other places but our village like really doesn’t have any of this depth because i wanted it to have interior but this

Building is so large it doesn’t matter what i mean by depth by the way is these layers that we have here so this wall is on this layer the pillars are on this layer and the roof is on a different layer outwards all of these different

Layers in a build creates depth and i am so happy to be able to detail with it i have a really bad habit of forgetting to light up my builds should definitely get some lights running along this thing so nothing explodes i kind of forgot how long it took and

How many blocks it took to build a build like this this is big and it’s not really even that big i just haven’t been prepared in this world to ever build anything this big so when i spontaneously decided to do it today it was wildly unprepared regardless though i think it’s turning

Out quite nice in order to make the edges a little bit more interesting i’m just going to be adding a slab to all of these edges so far the area is looking good but the building is a little bit boring i think it needs another layer as just a tower

Right on top of it so i’m gonna try to get to work on that now adding some flair to the top part of this roof i’m not sure if this is gonna be something that i want everywhere but i kind of like the idea of having it up here and

Then kind of just having the roof like slope in this way i don’t know it just makes sense to me and i think it’ll look a lot fancier yep this is so much better already oh my gosh i can’t even believe it okay let’s add those details to the rest of the

Roof and kind of see how i feel from there because this is a merchant’s area i think it would be a great idea to kind of have a pillar coming out here as a flagpole and then we’ll support that with like some slabs as a beam very cute it looks better already i

Think eventually some trap doors right along here would look good as well i don’t have enough dark oak on me right now to finish it but ah yes that’s such a nice detail it’s time to get into some of the decorations of my area and i

Think for that i’m going to need some colors oh maybe red or yellow or both we could do both i have a bunch of supplies and iron and stuff around so i figure we’ll get to work kind of making some of this into some decorations as well i’ve been

Working near the iron farm a lot in this episode so i happen to have quite a bit of iron i don’t have that much room up here for decoration but just maybe a little flag wouldn’t hurt i’ve also just had an idea and i want to

See if i can remember the recipe for a grindstone i can yes okay let’s grab three of these and then also some more chains i’m kind of really loving this i know that some of you might be a little thrown off by me just kind of shoving up in a new area but

I really like it i don’t know i kind of just needed an area that i’m able to detail like this kind of as much as i want and not worry about it being too much and i think this is the perfect area for that so right here i’m just going to add

Another bit just like so yes yes yes and then if we want to all we got to do is hang a lantern off that oh it’s so nice i really like it this honestly feels like the beginning of the game again where i’m just kind of like going through this entire inventory

Being like what can i craft what do i have what can i use all of this for and i’m having so much fun this is genuinely just so lovely to decorate all right one quick look with the rockets because i just can’t resist turn around oh my gosh

That is such an improvement wow i didn’t realize how different it was going to look wow this merchant’s area is perfect so i’m gonna be able to have some my building supplies for everything that i want to do over here and this can be sort of a long-term project area obviously i know

That we have quite a lot of other projects going on right now but how about we use this as an area to put a build board so that i know everything that we’re currently working on and if i miss any you can remind me down in the comments let me make some signs

Okay build board so i’m just gonna use this entire wall right here so first of all long term medieval area next thing we’re working on is jungle hobbit area and we also have the nether hub and the only other thing that i can think of that we really really need to

Work on it is the industrial area which we worked on a little bit today but not a ton so these are going to be our four main locations and maybe under these i can kind of write notes on what exactly needs to be done so i’m not

Going to be putting like the village on the list i’m not gonna put the fort on the list i’m not gonna put the witch area on the list because those areas like they’re kind of done obviously we can come back to them and do small things but in terms of like big full

Episode projects they’re kind of mostly finished we can feel pretty good about those but these four areas here are not really finished at all and that one’s just started so maybe we can just make some notes if you have anything to remind me of and you want to remind me

Down in the comments anything that i need to be working on definitely do so this is kind of a long-term world so it’s entirely possible that i’ve forgotten but for now i think that’ll do it and just because i can’t resist i’ve turned on shaders oh my heck

Ship maybe a pirate area out here we could really build this up look at it oh my gosh it’s so fun wow i really like what we’ve done today i wasn’t sure if i was going to be happy with it or not or if i was going to be
