What’s going on gamers? Today we are going over the Minecraft mod “Oh the Biomes You’ll Go”, how to install it, and how to play. Before we get started, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and click that notification bell to stay up to date on all future videos. As you explore or build in vanilla Minecraft, biomes make up the entirety of the world. From vast desert to tall forests, each one is unique and has its own charm. As you gain years of experience, however, the existing biomes become predictable and.. boring. This is no longer the case with BYG or, “Oh The Bi You’ll Go”, a Minecraft mod that adds tons of new places to explore and items to collect. From colorful trees to giants stone spires, this mod has it all. Let’s go over how to install this mod and how to get started. Visit the BYG CurseForge page and press files at the top to display all of the download options. Find the version that you want to download and once you’ve found it, click the download button on the right hand side. After this downloads, save the file to a safe location because we will need it in just a minute. You’ll want to do the exact same thing with the matching version of the TerraBlender dependency. Head to the Apex Server panel and stop the server. Scroll down to the game file section and make sure the server is running a matching version of Forge to the mod that you downloaded. Afterwards, head to the FTP file access on the right And then find or create a mods folder and enter it. Press upload in the top left, and then on the next page drag and drop the files into upload. Once they’re 100% uploaded, you can click on your name at the top to return to the main panel page where you can restart the server In order to get these biomes to appear in your game, you’re going to have to create a new world with the mod installed. After restarting the server, Scroll down to the world section and press the change world button until a prompt appears, and then choose a new name and continue through the rest of the prompts. After that, restart the server one more time to generate the new world. We are also going to need to install the mod on your client side before we jump into the game. First, make sure you have Forge installed, which we have a guide to that will be linked down below if you need to know how to do that. Once that’s done, open your Minecraft launcher and head up to the installations tab and then hover over your Forge profile and press the open folder icon on the right. In this new folder, find or create the mods folder and enter it, and then drag and drop the mods .jar files into this section. After that, you can head back to the Minecraft launcher and press play. There are a ton of new biomes Added throughout this mod, each with their own unique look. We will be going over a few today, but for a full list of the biomes, make sure to check out the BYG wiki page linked down below. Populated primarily by oak trees, the autumnal forest provides a warm tint with its green, red, and brown trees. The tree shape can vary from vanilla like to more unique and chaotic. Obviously this gives you access to a ton of wood, but because of all of the shade, it can cause monsters to spawn even during the day. While simplistic, the Rose Fields are beautiful, adding rose type flowers as far as the eye can see. Standard mobs can spot in these planes as well as horses, donkeys, and foxes. This mythical like biome is almost out of a fairy tale. The biome is covered in large mushrooms as well as various different colored trees. In addition to this, flowers such as crocuses and pink anemone are scattered across the ground. A lot of the trees are quite tall, but are distanced enough to have visibility and sunlight still around you. The zelkova forest is covered in, well, you guessed it, zelkova trees, which tower above the player in their red hue. Sheep appear to spawn in higher numbers as well as the different flowers that cover the ground. Crocuses, kovan flowers, and white anemone are found all over in addition to ferns. Thanks to the height of these trees, this would be a great spot to build a tree house and gain extra visibility in your world. While this zelkova forest, is tall, it’s nothing Compared to the fragment forest and its massive stone spires. These overgrown columns are covered in oak and ebony trees as well as many tropical flowers. Springs of water and lava will often generate on the sides similar to vanilla mountains, which can start forest fires if they’re left unattended. And finally, the frosted taiga. Similar to a snowy taiga biome, the frosted taiga is covered in beautiful blue spruce trees to complement the cold atmosphere. The trees come in many unique shapes with the ground consisting of grass, coarse dirt and podzol. Blueberries, irises and crocuses grow on the ground and accompany the various ferns scattered. You’ll see animals like Arctic foxes, wolves, and other common mobs around this biome. If you don’t see any new biomes when you spawn in, this could just be because you spawn into a vanilla one. Walk around and see if you can see any new biomes around you. This can also happen if a new world is not generated after installing the mod to your server. After installing the Mod, make sure to scroll down and generate a new world before restarting the server again. If you get an error when trying to join the server first, make sure that your version of Forge matches the version on the mod as well as the dependency. If it does match, make sure that both files are installed on both the client and the server. Restart the server and try again This Minecraft mod is one of player’s dreams, giving them endless amounts of new territory to build in and explore. Along with just the look of things changing, they also add in new animals, recipes, and flowers, giving you something to look forward to every time you encounter a new biome. There are 80 different biomes to explore, so we didn’t even scratch the surface. Check out the wiki page to see all of the options and the things you might come across in this mod. That’s all for this one gamers. As always, I hope you have lots of fun. Thanks for watching. If you want to see more great content like this, then subscribe, or click these videos.
