Arix – How to Create a Spigot/Bukkit 1.10 Server [BuildTools, Port Forwarding, and Plugins]

Hey everybody my name is icing tonight 604 and welcome to a tutorial on how to get a spigot 1.10 server and this also works for getting bucket and craft bucket as they all generate in the same process so if you want to generate one of them it will create all three of them

So you have multiple options for doing this it is ever since 1.8 it became a fairly complicated process but it I guess it makes it a lot easier for the developers so I’m gonna show you how to do it so it it may take some time it’s complicated and confusing sometimes

But in the end you can get it so all you have to do is click it’s all you have to do is run a file and it will generate the latest one for you depending on what you want you can set specifications and all that so the first thing you’re gonna

Want to do is you need to download build tools if if you want to check it out for yourself you can go straight to spigot MC org and since 1.10 came out very recently yep should be right here at the top so this has all sorts of stuff for compiling the new thing

And right here this code is Java – jar build tools jar – – Rev 1.10 this is important this is the code to run it and I will show you how to set everything up so all the things you’re going to need will be in the description

So on your desktop create a new folder called build tools I’ve already done it right here so I’m just going to go into it and this needs to be in its own folder I’m going to show you two different ways so you can do this so there’s one the auto updater it’ll get

The latest version or you can get a specific version the first one we’re gonna do is the specific version because it is the one with the most customisation and this is how you can get builds that are not stable where they are development billets like you cannot get 1.10 jars right now using

This auto updater because it only gets the stable builds but with the specific version you can tell it to get the 1.10 jars so I have already got the things you need right here and the first thing you need is to download build tools before I get any farther actually I need

To tell you you need to install this software called get it’s get like this and you’re gonna need bash so if you just type and get into Google should be the first thing right here no that’s an add just ignore that there it is this

One don’t hit ads so here it is this is get right here and you want to just download it for I believe it only really does it for Windows so yeah just hit downloads or you can either hit it right there so hit the latest one you hit download

Install that customize it how you want it so that is how you’re gonna get that ok so once you’ve got get installed you want to go back to your desktop go into the folder you created I have to remember but if you wanted to do just one I recommend just doing the specific

Version I recommend not doing the audio Auto updater because it doesn’t get development builds but the specific version one so you need to create a new text document and if you don’t have no plan plus plus installed I highly recommend doing that as well on the link

To that in the description it’s very very useful I can’t tell you I’ve used it for years now and you want to rename this to either download build tools or something along the line of letting you know that this is how you’re going to get the latest version of the build

Tools and put SH at the end instead of txt and hit yes it will change to a shell script right click this if you have no plan + + click edit with notepad plus plus coming here and you’re gonna want to paste the code that I give you

That’s the wrong one I have the wrong one copied your nan a paste code I give you in the description so it’ll be download build tools SH paste this in here all on one line make sure it’s all correct save the file and now you can X

Out of that and then the next thing you need is to run build tools this was the easier one open a new text document or create a new one call it just run or run build tools doesn’t matter put SH at the end again and do you add it with notepad plus plus

Coming here this is the one where you’re gonna make the running one so Java – jar build tools dot jar and you put – minus RV one point ten and that will tell it get the version of get the latest version for one point ten so

It’ll find the latest one on one point ten even if it’s a development build and it will download that so once you got that done you want to double click on download build tools this will open up a window here and it should just download

It yep there you go and once it closes out you have build tools jar right here now you click run SH and there it is so a52 that’s the latest that’s the latest version of build tools right now and I got confused on this but I figured

It out build tools is different from the latest version of this Server jar so build tools is its own thing build tools is the thing it uses to compile all the new things so build tools you want to get the latest version this every once

In a while so every once in a while after you’ve already used the jar that you want from here double you want to delete all this stuff just leave these two SH files and do the same process again by downloading a new version to build tools just in case just to see if

They’ve updated any of it and then you want to run and you want to enter the version that you want to get of course they have to have a version created for it so you can’t just hit I want a version for let’s say minecraft 0.8 I’d only think servers were on then

Yeah they were okay that’s just an example let’s say I want one for that little spigot wasn’t out then least I don’t think it was so if it’s not out and there’s not a version that they have specifically made for that it won’t work it’s gonna run into errors so oh boy

There we go okay so it’s creating all of the jars right now so you can just watch this as you want but I’m gonna skip through this you guys once it’s done you’ll be able to get onto the next part of the tutorial so okay so mine is

Complete and it just closes out for you once it’s all done you can set it so it pauses I’m pretty sure no nevermind I’m sorry I’m thinking of a batch file not a shell file okay so you’ll see now that you now have craftbukkit 1.10 jar and

Spigot 1.10 jar here’s the extra stuff version okay I guess there is no yep here it is okay yeah you can find the other stuff like yours are just regular bucket in here but the main stuff you need is most likely spigot I don’t really know why you would want to use

Craft bucket I guess cuz spigot has a lot of performance enhancements and but I guess for developers they may want to use these to get it working great with the original one but anyway all of all you’re left to do is now just create the server which I will I guess I can

Get on to doing that now it’s it’s very simple to do it’s yeah I’ll do that I’ll show you guys how to do that I might make another video anyways but I’ll show you how to do it so you can just minimize that now and now to make a

New server create a new folder it has to be in its own folder so I’m just gonna call it MC 1.2 n server okay and if you’re paying attention to the whole time it was compiling you may or may not have noticed it did say snapshot next to it

And that’s what I was talking about with the auto updater how it doesn’t compile those it only compiles the latest versions so this is the same thing I will put this in the description I’m not going to go over it it’s the same exact thing compiled into one file and it

Doesn’t get the latest versions it does latest compiled version okay so this is the fun part and I haven’t done this in so long I have forgotten the code to get it to run the server so I will be right I’ll have the code now

Okay I have code so you can name this pretty much whatever you want for the sake of the video I’m just gonna name it start because it’s what starts the server and it has to be a batch file so geez I haven’t created batch files it’s so long it’s ridiculous but anyways it’s

B80 so hit yes and it becomes that little gear icon again windows batch file edit with notepad plus plus again it comes in super handy so paste what you find in the description below and we are going to name this to what our jar is spigot –

One point ten dot jar and just to double check want to make sure spigot – one point 10 dot jar and it is a lower case so you kind of get it correct there you go so save that and exit out of there No okay head back into your folder with

That and now you need to get the jar from there so why did I close out of that I don’t know okay drag a spigot – one point ten dot jar over into your server folder just like that double click start and it will start doing all this sort of stuff loading libraries

Okay and this is super simple I will show you guys how to port forward in a different video yeah so that will come in a different video and there we go so that’s what happens at first and now mo yang has added you need to agree to the EU LA or

The EULA and make sure you read this I’ve read it before so you guys should too it’s very helpful information about servers it could help you out a lot if you ever are interested in creating a full-on server like I have done it helps a lot so definitely read that and there

You go you can customize server properties if you want this is not a just fully set up a server video this is just how to get the jar files for it because that’s complicated enough and it’s self server creation can be complicated but once you’ve got it it’s

Super easy yeah I used to be super confused it took me like months to figure out I would just try figure it out it took us so long to actually figure out how to get a bucket server and now it’s more complicated than it used to be but you you’ll get it

Eventually the just the more you compile with stuff and recreate the finest and all that it’ll just kind of remember what you have to do and where you have to go to find all this stuff so this is all it does and this is how you also can

Add plugins to it which plugins are amazing it’s like Rove edit essentials you can add shop plugins you can add minigames PvP plugins are where it’s at okay so whoo okay so this is all it does for the rest of the video this is it I will show you

How to port forward in a different video I mean note you know what this is gonna be a full-on video how to do everything for your server start to finish so I’m gonna show you how to port forward and it can be different so it’s done so this

Type stop save the level to do and then press any key there you go so it’s all done you got all this now you can customize everything later okay so we don’t need this anymore and now what we can do is come up here there’s the code and now what you need

To do is hold on I was gonna get plugins first but first if you’re running on Windows 10 you can either click on the windows button and start typing or if you’re a river 7 go to the windows start typing there and windows 8 it can be

Windows Windows key and s and that should pull that up so yes so you want to search for I know CMD oh boy it’s a bit like you see em D okay come on holy cow there we go CMD and press enter here to open the command prompt and now what you

Want to do is you want to type IP config just like that all one word lowercase I’ll load up here and you want to find your default gateway mine is 192.168.0.1 so you want to find that you want type it in to your address bar so one nine

Two point six eight I’ve already typed it so go here and depending on your router it will be different most of the time it’s generally in the same area some of the terms are mostly the same you’ll need to know your information to log in most things are admin and

Password some are admin admin and some are like user and password most the time you can look on the bottom of your router or modem and it’ll have what the default thing is so here in my router I need to go in to hold on sorry

Firewall I go into my firewall and I click virtual servers such port forwarding most of them will have something along the lines of virtual servers port forwarding all that just find where you can see some sort of port forwarding thing click on add there’s maybe a bit different than mine but it’s

The general idea you know what it is you can call it what you want if you have the option so I will call it server I’m just going to call it server the inbound port is two five five six five two five five six five same thing and TCP and UDP

You want both and then private IP address this is your ipv4 address we’ll do that in just second and the local port is 25565 oh you know what you know what hold on I have to delete a server one because I’ve already done this before so just say so

It’s the same stuff as last time so I’m just gonna hit server two five five six five two four five six five and do both – five five six five – five five six five and then the private IP address some of you may already have numbers

Already in there by default that’s okay if you do just get the last number but I have to enter the full thing so I’m gonna copy the full thing and paste it into there or either if you already have numbers again input the last number this

Can change time to time so just check it if it’s not working check do ipconfig check your private IP address ipv4 and make sure it’s good so hit add virtual server my router will update itself IRA’s may not it doesn’t really matter but sometimes it may take a bit of time

For to fully go through and update itself so maybe allow up to at least or at most maybe about five minutes to ten minutes never happened to happens to me before I’ve just hear it happening okay so once you got that all good now you don’t need this grant prompt anymore so

You can X out of that and we will minimize all of our stuff and we can head back into our 1.10 server so it’s port forwarding now other players will should be able to join it and what you can do is go into your plugins folder and now we’re going to install some

Plugins this is this is the best part about getting it so if you want to find some plugins you can either go onto bucket org and you can go to their plugins there like bucket plugins they’ve changed it up a bit or you can either go to bucket org and find some

Plugins there you neither directly search the name of the plugin or you go to my favorite one spigot MC org spigot is like the best so come on over here hit resources and then you can find either the latest resources you want resources so if you

Want to search for some plugin so you can hit search resources or you can just search right here or you can find popular ones down here and new ones you can sort them by ratings downloads title so let’s go buy download so which will most likely be the most important ones

So yes group manager is very very helpful it depends essentials essentials is one of the best plugins you are going to find so for the sake of the video I’m just going to install essentials so here it is they don’t really have a updated version entirely so yeah there’s no

Official version for here but there’s third-party ones that are created by other teams so we’re gonna find that now I don’t know if this really works with one-point head and stuff but what you can do is just do a spigot yeah spigot one point 10 essentials and our builds

Yep there it is spigot essentials here it is so some people have created new updated versions and this is where you’ll find the newest ones here and then the main one you just need is right here essentials just like that if you want to get all the extra stuff you can I

Recommend getting essentials right here this first one I recommend getting essentials chat and a central spawn I don’t care for any of the other ones because there’s much better plugins that do that and they’re way less restricted so for the sake of the video I’m just getting essentials just the regular one

And hit keep and then you can drag this into your plugins folder just like that and now you can start up your server let me get 1.10 going so okay so the server is currently starting up getting 1.10 up and running all right waiting play and there we go

Play the frostburn update alright if you guys are interested in watching minecraft playthroughs I recommend checking out either survive and thrive or legit minecraft both those are done by me surviving thrives on my own server and then legit minecraft is a single-player full let’s play it’s not

Completed yet I actually just started it up a few days ago so yeah it’s already done already it’s already got it loaded yep essentials and naval and all that it’s already good so it’s connected to our IP sometimes it can say failed to bind like failed to bind ports or

Something along those lines and it won’t really run so that’s why you definitely need to port forward or sometimes it can be the case where there’s already one being used there so for instance let’s say someone else in your house is running a minecraft server on the same

Ports and they start theirs before you oh boy super sorry about that oh boy get out of there okay I hope you guys can see now okay so head into multiplayer and you need to find your IP you can either do ad server you can do local host

And there it is there’s our server or better yet you can make sure it works for everyone else if you go to IP chicken comm so super super super simple to find your IP address this is the one that other people will connect with there it is highlight control see there’s your IP

That’s the one you will give to other people to connect to servers so an ad server you can paste that down into your server address click done and let’s see yep it works so other people will be able to connect so let’s say if I wanted

To get some friends on here I just give them that IP and left my servers on they’ll be able to join so just like that it’s super easy and you can see in the console here see I’m logging in here it’s all creating configs for me so it

Will save my inventory on here boom now I am and essentials is working because it says you have no new mail holy cow this is one of the luckiest spawns I’ve gotten holy smokes this is amazing oh man holy cow I love this place ok I’m

Getting way like off topic and stuff but wow this is awesome so ok let’s try to play through on here not really but anyways so now you can see you have no new mail so if you type such help essentials will override the default minecraft help and here it is you got

Afk back balance balance top so I can check my balance such Bal I don’t have any money I can do depth this is a new command okay I’ve never seen that they have currently comes with five pages of help on here but this is only one

Plug-in insult once you get a lot I have like 40 pages of help so you can do kits and all that default is kit tools so there we go I got my stone stuff I’ll add it for me you can do stuff like god mode I don’t have access to that man

Okay I’m not aunt but with other plugins you can give permissions to people so you can create groups like that’s what we do on our server let’s get a type up I see two 9604 optimi now I can just slash godmode says God mode enabled and now you’ll see I just

Got that hurting noise and now I try to drowned which I don’t know why you would really want to do that but if I if I do it alright you’ll see that I’m not able to take any damage and by bubbles we’ll just refill so you can’t take any damage

During god mode and another cool thing is you can use either there’s like three commands it’s like smite yep Thor or you can do is lightning boom zombie pigman oh yeah and look he cannot hurt me because of my god mode in an instant I go off of god mode you can now

Hurt me so very neat very neat thing right there you can set homes so whoops I typed home not set home so if I type set home it says set home the current location if I run over here I can type such home and boom I’m back where I just

Set my home and then you can type slash back and he’ll take me to the point I was previously at so this also helps if he died you could type slash back you’ll go back there there’s a lot of cool things you can do I’m gonna leave it to

You guys to figure out all the neat stuff you can do if you want me to start doing some overviews and reviews of plugins I will be more than happy to do so I may even just start doing that by myself because I’ve already thought about it before and have been pretty
