Ars Magica 2 Mod | Minecraft 1.10.2

How’s gone guys Jake here and today we’re gonna be taking a look at the ARS Magica 2 mod now this mod adds the whole realm of magic into your Minecraft world and because of how complex this I’m gonna doing a multiple part series and in this first part I’m be teaching you

How to get the essentials so that you can cast your first spell out of your hand so without further ado let’s get into it so I’m first gonna go over some new things that are added into your world when you first open it up and now in

Front of us we have 5 new orders we have shimmer right blue topaz vin tiem moonstone and Sunstone now as you can see those are what the ores and that’s what it looked like and when you break them though so what you get and on top you can see the individual blocks and

You can make with these and they all look very cool and magical then we also have some plants that are added into your world we have the desert Nova we have the Serra blossom if that’s how you want to pronounce it we have the wake

Bloom in the arm and the tarma root then we also have which wood trees now it looks amazing with this purple kind of texture to it and these white leaves and also if I turn around you can see that they spawn with pretty high frequency as

You can see just this open feel I’ve got I think four of them and there also can be pretty large trees so you can get this type of wood and you might need these in a couple recipes but it just looks amazing by itself next we have

This liquid essence and now you’re gonna find this usually in these a two by two squares just randomly throughout your world could be up on the mountain could be a desert you can find them basically anywhere and you’re gonna need this and you’re gonna need to place a wooden

Block could be wooden cobblestone whatever just a block next to it with an item frame now you’re gonna take a book and when you place in here you’re gonna start see these cool particles go into the book that is because it is confusing the book with magic as you can see this

Cool effect happens and now we have an arcane compendium and now this is basically the manual of this mod it shows you what you can do the certain things that you’ve learned and how to make certain structures as you can see right in front of me so if I go ahead

And open this up you can see that on the Left we have all these different tabs you can see that we’ve got mechanics we got items blocks all this type of stuff so going over the first thing you want to take a look at our structures and and

Those you’re gonna take a look at the crafting altar as you can see it kind of tells you a little bit about the altar but it no good no I took a pause right here of this kind of manual as month so if I go ahead and open it up you can see

That on left we have several different tabs we’ve got the guides and mechanics the items the blocks the shapes the components the modifiers the talents the mobs the structures and the bosses now the first thing you’re going to want to take a look at is the structures tab

That is open and the crafting altar now it has a little bit of information here but this page is really important because it talks about what you can use to strengthen your crafting altar so four cores or the things that are placed on the top and I’ll get to those in a

Second you can see that you know Sunstone block it has a tent and glass has a one so if you’re wanting to make more powerful spells you need to use these blocks for higher powered items so that your crafting melter can handle these powerful spells so as you can see

Which wood planks or / / blocks you can use those for the body and you’re gonna need those if you’re going on more power once again for your crafting altar so you’ve got two different things you’ve got the catalyst at the top and you got this structures just for the main body

Of the altar so you’re gonna need both these things to make the altar and well you know Sunstone can be very difficult to get so you might start off with redstone or something that’s pretty easy but in front of me I want to do retake it anyway

Actually if I go ahead and open this book up you can see on the left we have several different tabs we have guides mechanics items blocks shapes components modifiers talents mobs structures and bosses now the first thing I’d be going over is the crafting alter since this is

What you’re going to need to make spells so it has a little bit of information here you can read that I had to flip that up I had to yeah I just had to so we go ahead and open the book here as you can see on the left we have several

Different tabs we have guides mechanics items blocks shapes components modifiers talents mobs structures and bosses now I have the structures tab open because you’re gonna want to make a craft and alter is that’s good you’re going to need to be able to make a spell so if we

Go ahead and click on this you can see that we have some information here and you can read this but that basically just sums up what this page right here is saying on our left we have catalysts on our right we have our main structure components so our catalysts are for

Blocks that will go on top of our crafting altar and one in the middle and these will basically give more power to your structure same with the structure or the materials that you make the crafting altar out of as you can see which wood is up there with three so

It’s very good to get some of those but as you can see Sunstone moonstone and even diamond so as you can see Sunstone is pretty rare to get to same with diamonds you can see that they have a higher power than all these other pretty easy blocks to get so you’re gonna want

Higher power blocks to make your crafting altar out of because if you’re going to make more powerful spells you need to be able to support those and there will be a little warning mechanism saying that your altar is not powerful enough but I’ll get to that in just a

Second and so then if we flip over another page you can see that there are many different types of altars and combinations for you to go through and personally I have made this type of altar right here but before I get on how to make this I’m going to go over some

Of these things and you’re going to need to be able to craft like that stand right there now starting off with dispel parchment to make this you’re going to stick it paper and another stick and then we have VIN TM vest this is what you’re gonna

Get when you mind the venti amour but to make art an arcane compound you’re gonna need to take two redstone to glow stone to stone and to netherrack to make an arcane ash you’re gonna need to just put that arcane compound in the smelter and

You’re gonna get to ash and then to make the purified Fincham dust you’re gonna take a desert nova a Serra blossom however you wanna pronounce that event TM dust and an arcane ash to get that purified venting dust then we also have runes now to make a blank urn very

Simple you’re just going to take six cobblestone as such you’ll get two of those and to make any color rune and those will change depending on your spell all you have to do is place a blank rune next to the thing that would produce that color so you can see it for

Red you’re gonna have the Rose ruined die and it’s that simple next we have a couple of structures we have the oculus now to make this you’re gonna take three of any type of stone chisels stone bricks all that you’re gonna take a glass and blue topaz and

Two coal and we have an inscription table and to make this you’re gonna take a feather a spell parchment it torch three wooden slabs and two planks of any type of wood we have a crafting altar and to make this you’re gonna take event am dust over a stone then we have a

Lectern and make this it’s just three of any wooden slabs with a plank underneath it then we have a magic wall to make this it just to vent em dust with this stone and as you can see it looks pretty cool and you get 16 of them for just

That crafting recipe there so your arcane compendium shows this in a nice animation I just had to make a little bit more visual to make your crafting altar now you’re gonna start by building a five by five base and put one your catalysts in the center of whatever

Material you’re making a year crafting altar out of then you’re gonna raise up walls on two opposite sides and you’re going to place magic walls in between those and you’re gonna place a lectern on one of those sides it doesn’t matter which our next level we’re gonna raise

Those walls up by one and we’re gonna place a lever on the opposite side of our lectern that’s very important our next level we’re gonna raise our walls up finally one more and then we’re gonna add some stairs in the middle to make it look kind of like it’s an archway then

Our final level we’re going to add our four catalysts on the corners we’re gonna add stairs to complete it make it look like a nice archway and then we’re gonna add our crafting altar in the top Center as you can see and you can tell it has worked because the pattern

Underneath that white sir is the is now the nether brick pattern so that is how you make a crafting altar now remember you need to make this to be able to make spells and you’re gonna need a powerful one to be able to make powerful spells so now to make spells

You’re gonna need three different things you’re gonna need shapes components and modifiers shapes are basically what how you’re gonna cast the spell as a projectile you’re gonna shoot it at your hand as self shape you’re going to cast it on yourself stuff like that components they basically talk or show

What is going to happen with the spell is gonna cause freeze or fire damage isn’t gonna dig all this type of stuff then modifiers they basically change what the shape does so if I had a projectile I could put bounce on it so then it goes bouncing around on walls

Instead of just flying straight or I could add the effect of gravity on it so it just kind of changes or modifies how your spell is casted so here’s the oculus that I talked about not too long ago and if I right-click on it I’m gonna

Open up a GUI and as you can see we have this very cool looking GUI it’s kind of a skill tree basically and then we have many different tabs up here at the top and now how you get spells is well you kind of have to unlock them by casting

Them because whenever you cast a spell you’re going to gain levels and those levels will allow you to as you can see on the side get these particular points of blue green and red to be able to get more things to make more spells so right here we have a projectile projectile and

As you can see it says snow a lot for a fun little text and this as you can see the title is blue meaning that’s going to use a blue point to be able to unlock this now if I come down here a little bit you can see we’ve got some Reds and

Some greens so usually it goes blue green and red for a difficulty or you’re gonna need more stuff to be able to get these advanced spells it’s not always the case but that’s generally what’s the case so I’m gonna go ahead and click on this

It’s going to unlock it so now I can build a projectile shape for a spell so then I’ve got a couple of modifiers on the side you can tell that because they are in this diamond shape and now as you can see I can add gravity to this

Projectile or I can make it bounce so it kind of – that talked about when I was in the book but I can also get this physical damage because I have some blue points and now you’ll start off with three blue points I have five because I experimented around with this mod

Little bit so I’m gonna go ahead and get some physical damage and now as you can see that opened up two new paths a fire or magic damage so I can choose which one of those I’m winning and having to choose fire because well I like that so

As you can see the skill tree keeps going and I can unlock this other blue section but I can’t unlock this great section because I don’t have one of those points and so the blue sections are just gonna be the very basic spells and that’s what I’m going over today so

This is in the projectile section of this first tab up here our next tab we have the shape of self now this shape itself basically whenever you cast a spell that has the shape it will be casted on yourself so as you can tell this is a more defensive stuff they can

Add health it can regenerate you it can you know add fire protection all that type of stuff with the self shape then we also have in this next tab touch now touch whenever you right-click on a block or an animal that is count you know account as touching it so you know

If I have a touch to dig that means that when I click on the block it’ll now dig that block so that’s what the shape of touch does our next tab we have this circle of elements here and now this kind of shows what your more more prone

To so since I’ve experimented with fire as you can see I’ve got a little bit of red spark going on the center pointing towards the fire and also have a 3.8 on fire but we’re gonna get more to this in detail and then finally we have this

Kind of utilities or random sort of section I’ll go over this more detail but you can see we have some modifiers and some components in here and you can see we’ve got our green and red levels as well but now it’s time to go over the inscription table now this is where

Writing your spell’s is going to happen now first you’re gonna place a book and quill in the center now it started the spell making process now you can see that the three things I’ve unlocked I’ve got the projectile I’ve got the fire damage and I’ve got the physical damage

Now once you get a bunch of these you’re gonna type you know whatever you want I’m typing my fire damage there and find that since there gonna be a lot of these for you to look through then you can name your spell and I’m gonna be going

For a fire projectile like that so what you’re gonna do is for projectiles and modifiers you’re gonna place them in these five squares right here so I’m gonna go ahead and drag my projectile right there now you can see the orange text popped up on the right and says it needs it

One component and now you can see that my components have lit up because this spell now has a shape to it so I’m going to add fire damage to this and now you’re gonna place that in this gray bar that’s on the bottom and then as you can

Also see this is now complete spell I could use this and so it says remove the book and it’ll finalize the spell recipe so I’m gonna go ahead and remove the book and I now have the spell recipe now this does not give me the spell this

Tells me the information about it so as you can see that shape group one has projectile and the combinations of stuff I have fire damage here but this also gives me the list of things I need to make this spell so it’s you know a bunch

Of different things you can tell we have an arrow and snowballs because the projectile we have a red rune because it’s a fire damage all this type of stuff and this is where our crafting altar comes in handy now since I knew I was gonna be doing a fire spell that’s

Why I have all the materials needed down here and also you’re going to need a spell parchment and that and a blank rune as well so just get things started you’re gonna place your spell recipe down on your lectern so as you can see there’s the books here and they’ll flip

Through the pages back and forth and to get things started you’re gonna throw down a blank rune and the altar and as you can see now we’ve got some particles going on in there and this very handily will show what items we’re gonna need to

Put in next so you can see I need to throw in my vent and dust so I’m go ahead and do that I need to put my arrow in now I need to put the snowball in yeah it looked like winnin then I need to put our red rim our flint and steel

And then lastly our vent TM dust and then always you’re gonna have to start with a blank room and you’re always gonna have to end with a Sabella parchment now as you can see it went away our book is still there and now I can pick up our spell and so our books

There so we can get it and we get that crafting recipe and all that stuff but now we can customize our spell a little bit more so already I’m holding it and you can see that I have those flame particles going on because it has fire

Damage selected so if I go ahead and right-click on this I have three pages of very cool little thumbnails basically that I can choose for my spell so it just defaults this main one but I’m going to choose like this very small a fireball looking one right there just because well that’s

But it is a very weak fire projectile and so you know I can then also change name I’m gonna just put it you know fire just like that and then I’m hit turn I’m gonna click on the center and then all I have to do is press E and now you can

See that it has changed my inventory it’s no longer that weird face looking guy it has the fire thumbnail that I put on it and then you can also see that I have well the fire floating in my hand and so well since this is the projectile

All I need to do to cast it is right click so as you can see I cast it it’s not affected by gravity or anything and that’s where the modifiers come in it can change that but since the projectile that also means that it will only damage

Mobs as you can see I can launch this at the ground and nothing will happen it has to hit some type of mob or player then also I have two different meters on the bottom of my screen on left that red bar I have burnout and the right is my

Mana now mana well obviously if you need the correct amount of mana be able to catch the spell so if I go over the spell you can see that I have this much mana or I’m going to need this much mana to be able to cast this now the reason

Why that number is going down is because my burnout is up as you can see my red bar is slowly going down because my burn outs going down and what burnout is is when you cast a spell if you’re gonna cast it again it’s going to cost more

Mana so you have to wait for your burnout to go down and for it to go back down to its normal cost and I think this normal cost is like 160 or 170 so if you casted a bunch you’re gonna lose your mana but also if you cast it or the more

You cast spells the higher your level will be as you can see I’m a level 3 and when I level up that means it’s gonna give me more of those points thank you rain it’s gonna be give me more of those points for me to get more spells and get more crafting

Components that I need to make cooler spells so that is basically it and also there going to be a bunch of cool spells you know even stuff to deal with weather and add lighting and all that stuff but that will come up in later sections as it’ll get more complex and you know

You’re gonna have to get into a higher levels and all that type of stuff that was very close now the last thing I want to say is if I go ahead and type in a mu I CFG and click this you can see that a bunch of these boxes pop up and it

Allows me to move around these particular bars meters so you can see that I can place this mana bar up here if I wanted Orkut but it’s the burnout you know over here or some more information right there so just give you some custom customization and

You know you don’t have to change it at all you can leave it just where it is but that is a cool command if you want to use it at all also you have some more options as you can see you can show your man and burn bars you can make it

Visible show armed stands all this type of stuff it’s very cool and it’s very nice into customizable and now all you have to do to get out of it is simply press escape well that’s pretty much it for this ARS Magica 2 part 1 version I

Showed you how to get just the basic form of the spell and go over a few basic terms and things that are added into your Minecraft world and as I said they’re gonna be more parts coming out going over more complex spells and other coolest structures and things that are added
