Okay everybody welcome back to the channel today we’re looking at the Artemis rocket build which has just been added to Minecraft education Edition it’s a lot of fun we’re going to kind of speed through this one so you get the gist of how it all works give you a few Tips so we’re going to chat to the open person who tells us all about the Artemis project and uh tells us to make our way through uh this is what feels like a university talking to the different lecturers the first one gives us an introduction to the three Different missions how rockets work is lesson number two we’ll find out about Newton’s laws and then we make our way through to the third room here where we start learning about propulsion and fuels all of which will come in very handy my advice for this one is to maybe Stop the lesson every now and again and just ask for a little bit of a comprehension ask a few questions to the students to make sure they are reading everything and not just skipping through it then we go up in the elevator the lift and we get to create our own rocket Now the first rocket we are creating is to take a satellite up into orbit and pit on the moon I think no just to go into orbit so we don’t need a big payload we just need um to get up there and there we are we’ve we’ve adjusted the different parts Of the rocket to get a good balance um and using the budget that we got we had a small budget for this first rocket then we can uh we can change the design of the capsule which is the part that goes on the end of the rocket so I’m Going to replace some of the Green Glass some pink and blue and blue look quite cool and then put some stairs around the bottom I don’t know why I’m just chucking random stuff on then we click it’s done and we get this really cool uh little cinematic Animation type thing of our rocket in the hangar with our new connection on top and then we get to design we get spray paint the rocket whatever color we want so I’m putting a green on the side of it and a bunch of pink on the side And some red down the sides no idea why then we get this really cool animation I’ve sped this up a bit because it’s quite slow this animation but it is awesome and it’s our rocket launching I don’t know how they did it it’s really cool I didn’t do this one with my Students today and they loved it they really enjoyed this lesson uh it went down well so there’s our first rocket launching off and the next rocket is to uh deposit some kind of satellite or capsule or something on the moon we get a bigger budget so we need more fuel to Get all the way so the the middle part of the rocket needs to be bigger there we are I get that balance right get the right budget and get the right components and we’re all good and then again we can design the capsule the second time I’m going to put some of these crazy looking blocks on the side to make it look nice and distinctive you could have a little competition with your students to see which student can design the best rockets and there it goes without animation again there’s our new capsule On top and as you might Imagine Next we are going to be able to spray Ray paint spray paint the Rockets So I’ve gone for kind of a stealth black on my rocket and we get our next cool animation and see our Rock taking our rockets taking off And the weather is all good and there goes the stealth rocket awesome and we have one final rocket we got 190 um I don’t know billion probably known Rockets uh budget and this one needs to be able to take people to the moon so you need a bigger capsule at the top and This time I decided to see if I could put lava on the top of my rocket and if it would still work so let’s give that a go here’s the animation running and are we going to see some lava on the top well the conditions look at that the Lava is coming all the way down the rocket that’s cool that is cool I’m very impressed these animations working with with your own design it’s very impressive um and like I said the students loved it and then it finishes you’ve done all three rockets and you’ve learned loads There’s some really cool materials you can access on the website for the students to take a look at as well as well as a PDF and presentation that will work in the classroom very fun very cool this one it says it should take about 45 minutes and I’d say that’s about how Long it took my students to complete this so yeah I recommend it give it a go with the class enjoy thanks for tuning in and I will see you all later in the week Video Information
