Hello i’m kevin also known as our spike here on the interwebs did you see minecraft live the other day like all of the cool new stuff they’re adding like a sound reading entity that haunts you down within the very depths of the minecraft world the warden that is awesome i studied all Of my first three years at university was sound design for game development or games in general and just seeing that they actually implemented something that goes by that as a gimmick aggressive thing within the game is so cool the arc slots aren’t they like oh super cute Though but what i would like to do instead is to take you behind the scenes and have a good look at the vog bear something is coming up for a server development thing that i am doing with a friend this particular guy is going to be implemented into vanilla Job edition minecraft animate it and be on a server so that you can go in and experience them in face to face straight up as is now isn’t that kind of cool i for one think it really is but how is that done how can we have this 3d mob put into Regular vanilla minecraft without using for example optifine or whatnot so out there on the interwebs there is this plugin called model engine and if you haven’t seen or heard about model engine essentially what it is it’s a plug-in that takes a bedrock model breaks it apart by all of the Different bones it has here you can see the folders that we have and then it replaces the bones with armor stance and thus it makes the mob by having all of the different cubes and components added to armor stands instead as separate models that would more or less Be items like it actually reads them like items formula minecraft and that’s kind of cool so what we have is the potential to have 3d animated mops within regular vanilla minecraft and i’m going to show you some of the animations this guy has so he has another idle animation It’s just a breathing thing breathing motion like that he has a walk now before you say anything we’re going to come back to this in a second he has a run like so and he has an attack so there are some reasons to why i’ve made this guy this way Some of you might have looked at the walk animation and gone oh that looks a bit blocky it doesn’t feel very smooth and the reason to that is because in vanilla minecraft the way we’re using armorstands for this the more components we have the more keyframes and the more information The more likely we also are to receive certain bugs and jitters and things that breaks the model apart when it’s actually in the world so to prevent that i decided to go for slightly less frames and also slightly more blocky animation that doesn’t feel super smooth and there’s also this other one thing You may notice there is no movement to the neck here same thing for the run there’s no movement to the rake and the reason why we’re doing that is because if you have a bone that’s named like this one up here h head and h jaw these things Due to the way that model engine handles information about these bones are gonna make it so that it looks for the player so by having them with the h underscore and not animated we actually have it so that the player is followed by these bones in game now As much as i have this movement to the under jaw the entire model itself is going to look for the player within the game that’s kind of neat isn’t it but okay i also have to interrupt myself just briefly to tell you more about the actual model engine website if you go to Github.com you can find a bunch of information i’ll also putting the link down in the description for you to look at so we have for example making your first model this is a guide step by step up how to put together your own you can see here you have bedrock model Put together your own bedrock model that you’re animating rigging and whatnot to put it into your very actual personal own game there’s even a bit of like a preview down at the bottom here you can see it being put into the game and how it actually interacts and stuff with that You can punch the mob you can attack the mob you can make it attack you and whatnot there is a lot to it see that and of course the viki also has a bunch of other interesting information as to like how to do about animation the recommended tools that you use for Example mechanics or mythic mobs integration also the limitations which might be very useful to know more about when you’re starting this up so take a look at that website and let’s go back to the video and thus if i add animation keyframes to the main one of them They’re going to break they’re not going to look decent they’re not going to behave the way i want them to be so you can see there are no keyframes to this one right here so when model engine uses armor stance to implement these mobs into one of minecraft One thing that can happen and does happen regularly due to the fact that armor stands rubber bands and it tries to compensate for that over a few frames just to make things go in the right position or whenever something let’s say for example this thing right here is called For one frame and this is called for the second frame and this didn’t receive the draw call or they were called for an out of sync things break momentarily though they go back to how they used to be before but they break momentarily and before the math has figured out we’re supposed to To handle and place things some things may look really buggy so this guy within the game sadly as it is currently and there is not really a workaround at this point he may break every so often you may walk around the semen environment and suddenly He walks across like a walks up a block and then the entire body goes into pieces and then the frame after it’s like back to normal again and when he rotates all of his segments may rotate out of things you’re like it looks really weird and that’s sadly Just how it works with uh using armor stance when putting these animations in within the game but it’s still a cool way to have your very own 3d custom animated mobs on the server and we want to explore that mean my body that i’m building this server with we are basically just facing The fact that that’s what it is and we’re thinking in a different way than i think most people may we’re thinking the more we push and the more we show the world that this content needs to be a thing the more likely we think it is that mojang may look at What we have produced and what the community has produced and say to themselves you know we should maybe ease things up we have custom animated mobs for the windows edition bedrock edition and whatnot let’s just add it for job edition as well so people can have these Super cool weird servers out there with like i’m not sure how much of they have like super free animated with a bunch of extra bones to them but regardless service that utilizes this model engine plug-in already and i think it would be really cool if You’re one of them as well so if you’re a server owner out there watching this video right now know that there is now a super cool feature way that you currently can at least get your custom models into the game and do something else that isn’t just Items and it doesn’t force players to use optifine and mods you can actually have this within your minecraft java vanilla experience right now so with that said i hope you enjoyed this video leave a like and subscribe if you did also comment down below what you’d like me to do for The next one i’ve already had some comments about animations once again but i think there are much more cool stuff we could talk about maybe i should do another development video of this server that we’re working on the unannounced server that i’m of course going to present more about in the future Or maybe something else i do know that the further this month goes on and the further the time progresses during this autumn there’s going to be a bunch of other cool stuff that i’ve been working on coming your way that doesn’t necessarily are going to end up on this channel that i might Cover on this channel but they’re all going to end up somewhere else cool where minecraft experiences are so with that said i hope you enjoyed this one i’ll see you around till next time take care Video Information

Model Engine is an armor stand plugin that allow you to fake custom animated mobs in a Vanilla Minecraft Server (only for servers). This is a first look at a creature that did roam our custom server. How to install Model Engine on java server? Follow the links at the bottom of the description.
ArtsByKev always try to push the limits of what can be defined as Minecraft while keeping it original. For me it’s about the experience and the endless posibilities.
Welcome to Blockbench – In this video you will be following along in the animation process of a Minecraft mob’s walk cycle in Blockbench. Here you can learn Blockbench and how to become a fantastic Minecraft 3D animator. But, how do you become good at 3D animations? Let’s watch the video!
Have you seen any of the earlier episodes? That’s a good tip if you want to become professional today with your blockbench models.
