BASTION RAIDING + SWAMP SLIME HUNTING! | The Minecraft Guide – Tutorial Lets Play (Ep. 32)

Hey there gamers how you doing it’s me your boy waddles minecraft guide episode 32 it’s the best day of my life the house it’s looking fresh as ever i’ve made some small updates more updates are always good but even better something disgusting dirty noisy is gone cleared out of this house

Hopefully forever where has it gone i have no clue but that bird that disgusting vile creature it’s gone i hate the bird and i’m happy that it’s gone i don’t know where it went but rosie seems a whole lot happier agent 72 behind me i’m not too sure if the agent 72 really

Has much feelings but i definitely pick up the vibe that agent 782 feels better too i think that bird was a demon anyways today we’re gonna slide into the nether and check out that bastion that we found in the last episode we’re gonna raid it clear out all of the guards clear out

Probably all of the people that live there the things the piglets and then take all of the loot it’s gonna be great now this is actually kind of a big deal bastion to me i i think maybe if i’m remembering correctly this might be the first bastion that i’ve rated

Since piglet brutes were added into minecraft so this definitely should be interesting now of course this is the first bastion it’s the minecraft guide we need to go over supplies before we do anything last episode we had an exciting exciting development we got some magma cream so that means

That we can brew potions of fire resistance to brew those potions start with an awkward potion just like that and then magma cream we’ll let that cook up then we’ll throw some redstone in there so the potions last longer than like two or three minutes having fire resistance definitely a good

Call when it comes to raiding a bastion because you know lava is kind of all over the place another good call is expanded inventory space if you have a shulker box and go with a shulker box i don’t have any shocker boxes quite yet definitely should get those soon though

But yeah i don’t have any shelter boxes today so instead we could just make it under chest and bring that thing with us and of course if we’re gonna bring the ender chest we need the the embarrassing iron silk touch pickaxe uh i’ll fix that soon gamers potions are

Done though so let’s go ahead and go over here and add some redstone to these things to make them last longer potions of fire resistance in my case night vision as well so you can see and expanded inventory space but that’s not all the things that live inside of

The bastions more specifically the things that guard the bastion the piglon boots are very very strong maybe the strongest mob been null of the nether you’re going to want to have good armor for sure this armor definitely good and good weapons too if we’re being honest bastions aren’t in

Very good condition either there’s lots of holes and down below those holes lava so bring some extra building blocks too to be safe you should bring building blocks that can’t be blown up by gas so that means something like cobblestone cobblestone would be perfect potions of fire resistance you can all come with

Meat thank you very much eight minutes that should be way more than enough hopefully all right so we’ve got the ender chest and it is cleared out i’ve got building blocks i’ve got potions i’ve got the weapons and of course all of the other basic survival supplies like food

You know wood so we can make more things i think that means we’re probably ready to go oh bring some torches too if you want to mark where you’ve been gamers i love this nether hub i am literally obsessed with it this creation ah yeah i’m obsessed with

It i think it turned out like perfect and it’s got me inspired to be in the nether but uh anyways we need to go down out of the nether hub and actually over to the strider bay that we built last episode in the last episode we found a bastion

That bastion that we found is over today it’s done maybe if we’re lucky we could find pigstep like the best music disc ever and maybe if we’re lucky this now banner pattern two if you want either of those two things the only way to get them is

Raiding a bastion now before i head out over to the bastion it’s very very close i should mention that there are two tactics when it comes to bastion raiding in stealth or just forcing your way in there today we’re gonna force our way in if you were trying to rave the bastion itself

You definitely want to bring other things too like hoppers golden armor maybe something like boats to stop the piglet brutes but we’re not worried about it we’re gonna charge in there take everything out today we’ll come back and rate a bastion later on in style and stealth

Today we just need to get in so uh let’s go ahead and start with that and with that we’re gonna be pretty set for the nether now we can go ahead and leave those there a clear inventory definitely better and we’ll actually organize this stuff because we might have brutes jumping on

Us like right away which is definitely gonna be bad that’s gonna be dangerous strider sweet strider you’ve waited here that’s perfect exactly what i wanted you to do now let’s go ahead and cruise over to the bastion it should be right there you look at that look at how close this thing is

It’s crazy now i scouted this out in the last episode it is surrounded by lava so we’re gonna have to park near the bottom of this thing and work our way up i’m thinking that we could either be aggressive and go right into the center go for that good loot

Right in there or we could sneak it a little bit more and just park out here and move our way in i think i like the sneaking idea a little bit more so strider you will park right here we’ll block you in with some blocks so you don’t go

Anywhere i trust you and all but i don’t and no can we jump out onto the land uh yes we can okay perfect you wait there boy you wait there i’ll be back soon all right so we’re in the bastion bastions are loaded with piglet brutes and piglens both dangerous creatures that

Will attack you in mobs bastions can also have hoglands which are really really strong and can send you into the lava i’m not seeing like anything though which is i mean hey i like it oh we’re in the soul sand valley which means skeletons too uh skeleton’s disgusting and we gotta

Watch out for guests now the point of the bastion is definitely the loot there’s lots of gold in bastions and there’s some pretty good loot too there’s a loot chest right in the center which i think i want to try and move over to right away but we need to watch out for

The pig ones especially the crossbow ones even more so though we need to watch out for piglet brutes piglet roots are even worse than crossbow penguins i mean honestly crossbow piglets are nothing compared to the brew loot chest number one though we’re gonna open this and if they’re not mad yet

They’re gonna get mad uh okay a diamond big eggs that like it curses the vanishing that’s garbage and gilded blackstone a brand new block no you know what we’re just gonna do it this way i don’t wanna throw items into the lava we’ll just grab everything like that

The chest though i’m gonna go ahead and break it so i know that i’ve already oh fire fire fire fire okay okay we’re just gonna break the chest and i hear somebody mad at me who is it you you go away the sword is strong here

Lava yeah watch out for the lava the blocks should be used to fill the lava holes up gold block number one i like it now any gilded black zone that we find today we will definitely take two but gilded blackstone what is it well it’s basically blackstone with gold

On it the best way to get gold out of the guild of blackstone fortune 3 for sure gilded blackstone has some interesting mechanics tied behind it but uh hold on hold on just a second loot chest number two snout banner pattern okay a golden apple and a million arrows and

These okay well that works too anyways gilda blackstone it’s weird it has some strange mechanics tied to it if you want to get gold out of guild of blackstone use a fortune three pickaxe that’s your best bet you can use a normal pickaxe though it could just take more time

So uh lanterns uh i love lanterns i’m gonna go ahead and take the lantern stew gold block number two you can come with me i have a better home for you now i’m wondering honestly where are all of the piglet brutes i was hoping for more of a challenge this is a cakewalk

I’m walking through this person’s house here the piglets house and nobody exists like come on i wanted like at least a little bit of an interesting challenge i feel like i haven’t even had to edit the boss music in quite yet because it’s so easy nobody’s even home uh let’s go ahead and

Move over here and start taking out some of this blackstone the guild of blackstone let’s see with the version of the repairs we should ah golden nugget oh okay okay okay we’re gold and still if you mind gilda blackson with like a plain old normal pickaxe you’ll have a

Ten percent chance to get gold nuggets between two and five the rest of the time you’ll just get the gilded blackstone block if you mind guilty blackstone with a fortune three pickaxe though you’ll have a 100 chance to get gold nuggets and hey piglet brew number

One right up there you know what just because we haven’t had any challenge okay okay the gas might be the challenge guest go away go away thank you i’m gonna actually not take the oh there’s two of them there’s two of them we’re going to create a platform right here piglet

Brutes you come right on down here right on down here come on come on i’m right here i’m literally right here you you jump right down okay they probably won’t jump down and they’ll take a lot of fall damage oh boy okay piglet number one go away go away okay piglet

Oh there’s two of them okay yep they’re strong but check that check that they’re gone um they’re terrifying piglets are really strong okay you know what we’re gonna wait out here let the health regen i think i sent them way into the lava they’re probably gone piglet brutes can’t stand the lava yet

Goodbye brutes that’s what i thought piglet roots are terrifyingly strong crazy crazy strong let’s go ahead and get somewhere maybe a little bit safer we could take them on like one at a time that would definitely be that would be desirable for sure now i’m thinking that this is gonna be

The best loot up here at the top of this thing that’s like the treasure room so piglet roots there might be a couple more of these guys we need to watch out for them for sure any piglet roots up here no no there’s not okay well fine i’ll take the

Loot what do we have we have a crossbow that’s cool change that’s great ancient debris a little bit more engine debris i like that okay okay and gold okay come on no it’s no special good loot okay well that’s a bummer that’s a bummer for sure but bastion loot

I mean i like it we’ll put this down we need to start moving things over into this thing here’s the straddle it’s tools for sure they go into the ender chest they take up a lot of space uh ancient debris enter chest two random piece of pork chop i don’t really want

It we’ll put it in there we got a lot of magma cream from this bastion too which is pretty sweet but i can’t believe it that loot was it was good and all but it really wasn’t good at the same time that was nothing like crazy cool or anything like that we’ll

Take all of the chests and everything we’ll take all the loot of course i mean it’s better than nothing but wow okay so let’s go ahead and put all of this in there that should keep that pretty clean then we can go ahead and grab the ender

Chest and take all this gilded black zone 2. now if we wanted to we could still touch the gilded black snow block and bring it home with us but you can’t smell the thing up it does nothing in a furnace so you’re definitely better off just breaking the block

And taking the nuggets unless you want to build with it perfect timing though the night vision ran out the fire resistance ran out definitely fire resistance and night vision sure too because why not now let’s go ahead and continue checking this thing out because there should probably be

Some more chest somewhere now honestly i don’t know if there’s going to be any chests on top of the thing but we’ll go up there just to see then we’ll move back down through the thing i’m thinking that i definitely missed a chest in the lower part of the

Bastion the part that we started with too i found two over there i feel like there should be three maybe no any more chests up here any more bastion up here uh okay no that’s just the end of the bastion probably the same thing the other way right

This bastion honestly is kind of small uh no no no there’s more over there okay that’s perfect uh can i jump i think i can jump there we go perfect chest it all depends on you you give me some good bash and that’s now banner pattern pig step

Or some gold leggings not what i wanted not even crying obsidian this is the most disappointing fashion in the world we’ll take the loot of course we’ll take it it’s mine now but wow not even crying obsidian i’m gonna be crying obsidian soon these are basically the worst piglets in

The world definitely the worst you can’t even get crying obsidian come on piglets come on come on you know what you know what i think what we could do is just barter with them and said hello piglins don’t worry about me take the goal oh those are brutes those are

Broods we don’t mess with the broods nope nope not at all leather you give me leather that is garbage i don’t take leather leather is not an option piglet brutes you stay in the corner stay in the corner look at how many shots this makes these birds are like crazy

Goodbye birds though goodbye goodbye okay leather sweet piglens that’s what i’ve always wanted some more leather that’s perfect i don’t have a great leather farm back at home nope not at all i i needed your leather that’s amazing all right so we got that done let’s go ahead and move through this

Part of the passion this part of the bastion is kind of like basically a big maze i hear a piglet is it gonna be a brood or is it just a pig one where are you i can’t find it we’ll get the gilded blacks on first okay perfect perfect and now other piglet

Where are you if you’re a normal piglet you will trade with me you will sell me something good so it’s at least not a waste of time to come here piglin show yourself make yourself seen pig beast you hold it right there by the way if you trade with a piglet you

Barter with it while it’s angry you get this advancement right there we distract it with gold that’s perfect hey back it up back it up i didn’t watch soul sand either i’m in the soul saint valley get me something good okay no you’re gone you’re gone that was your chance

All right well look who it is that’s another piglet brute we’ll go ahead and take this guy on up close goodbye piglet you take like half of my health away with that axe that’s dangerous definitely dangerous we got the gold axe too that’s cool it’s like a trophy we’ll

Actually keep the gold axe maybe we’ll maybe we’ll actually put it on display we have a bit of a clogged inventory though we need to clear this out for sure break time all right so we have a lot of gildan blackstone back here and we have some suspicious blocks right here

Whenever i see these blocks i get the idea to break them because maybe just maybe another time but sometimes they seem to be hiding gold blocks more guild of blackstone don’t mind if i do thank you very much even more right here cool i hear an angry sounding piglet and i have a

Feeling that it’s maybe gonna be another brute i’m not too sure where it is though somewhere over here somewhere is where i’m hearing it maybe it’s like up here i don’t think we’ve gone up here quite yet is there gonna be a brood over here no

Okay uh gold blocks you see what i was talking about perfect gold black i like it uh i hear it it’s really close it’s terrifying um any more gold blocks no okay where’s the brood at uh where are you are you outside of the bastion i don’t even know if i’m being honest

The brute i’m not worried about it there’s a gas raid out there’s a gas i’m worried about the gas we’re just gonna cut right through this bastion check this we’re going to cut right back over here more gilded blackstone cool keep cutting this way and then boom we’re going to

Move back into this part of the fortress but first of course we need some building blocks and the gas the gas is a problem the gas are more of a threat today than any big ones ever were let’s get over here to safety okay now guests show yourself where are you

You’re way up there all right well not even worried about it we’ll keep moving this way the part of this bastion over here that i didn’t check out was back over there so let’s try and make our way back around this thing and check that area out over there maybe

Maybe we’ll have another loot chest over there and it’ll have some really cool loot hopefully all right let’s keep sneaking around this thing we’ll stay on this layer and we’ll tackle this portion from the top down we’ll start up here move down towards the bottom see if we

Have anything at all over here thankfully the coast is pretty much clear in terms of pig ones though i literally don’t see any in this part of the bastion now piglens will respawn inside of bastion’s piglet brutes though no they won’t once you take them out they’re gone forever so technically if

You wanted to you could take on a bastion in two passes you could come to the bastion take out all the brutes then go away from the thing let the big ones calm down and come back and actually get all of the loot chests the sneaky way but

At the same time uh that would kind of be overly complicated you might as well just take other penguins too all right parkour parkour perfect perfect no lucha so far but that doesn’t mean the end quite yet maybe we’ll find a loot chest somewhere let’s move down a little bit more

All right i hear a piglet this time i think maybe all right nothing here lava that’s great uh loot i don’t think there’s even going to be a loot chest over here it doesn’t look like it at least all right we’ll move down a little bit more no that’s where we came in

Okay wow nice well not nice the nice was a lie here’s what we can do we can move right across this bridge right here perfect any loot chest down here in this bottom there is one more loot chest okay elites we’re gold and let’s go ahead and get that loot chest

Then we can get out of here because i think that’s gonna be probably just about it for this bastion we’re going to need to 100 find another bastion later with some better loot for sure mendy crossbow that’s cool fire aspect one that is garbage absolute garbage

The lowest of the low and finally last but not least though luch as you come with me gilda blackstone you come with me and just in time for the night vision to run out let’s go ahead and get out of this bastion and get back over home but just to be safe

Just to be safe we’ll drink that other fire resistance potion ho ho strider strute strider you’ve waited for me how loyal how trusty uh why did you even take damager that is so weird let’s go back to the strider bay all right so that ration wasn’t the best but that’s basically how

You do it you watch out for the piglet bruins because they are damaging highly damaging and you look for the loot chests hopefully if you’re lucky you get better loot than that though that was definitely not the best run in the world not at all okay strider i need you to cooperate

Here get back into the lava let’s go slow i shouldn’t have used the speed boost there we go perfect all right now we can jump off of the strider and just swim in the lava because fire resistance perfect not a pro hey hey hey hey get back here

Buddy get back here get back here back inside of the bay not good you behave that’s right strider you stay right there you don’t move anywhere all right so back over in the safety of our nether hub let’s go ahead and take a look at the loot that we got today

So inside of the ender chest we have a lot of the tools we got these tools right here the diamond pickaxe right here with unbreaking two that’s not bad we could actually disenchant that because i’m breaking two it’s not the best and re-enchanted with hopefully something better in terms of other tools

We have these things right here that’s pretty cool the mending crossbow is something that i like we could build on that one piece of ancient debris that is definitely the best thing that we got from this fortress today two lane turns in some chains which is always cool and then a couple other

Pieces of random loot overall not the best loot exactly but i guess better than what we had before i mean we got a lot more gold definitely a lot more gold for sure which is cool the total new gold count including all of the gilded blackstone that we mined turned into nuggets is

Eight blocks and three more and then 14 more blocks of gilded blackstone which i’ll probably save for building these blocks would be great for detailing like i could come back in here and mix them down below the floor that would look really good actually that was a big brain idea of me

Actually that was a big brand idea i went ahead and did it right away because i mean if i don’t do it now i’ll probably never get around to it there we go we have blackstone under the floor now that adds a nice touch of detail maybe even a subtle flex

All right so i need to get this inventory sorted cleared out then i actually have one more thing that i wanted to do today so next episode i’m thinking about sliding over to the nether fortress and setting up a blaze farm if we’re going to build a blaze farm

Though we need sticky pistons and to make sticky pistons we need slime balls we currently only have 10 slime balls the plan here is to take the map with us and head over to the swap item that we found before i think it was

Up over this way you see like the top of the map yep right there thanks senator me coming in with the clutch again yeah i think that’s a swamp item right there so if we head over there and then wait around at night time hopefully maybe we’ll be able to catch

Some slime spawning but one thing that i definitely should go back and get is some more dirt now unfortunately i don’t have a quick shortcut way over there but i do have a map and that map does need filling in so i think i’ll head over there on land

Fill in the map a little bit more and then i’ll meet back up with you guys once i’m over then the swamp swamp biome here we are i called it i was right so this top area where the light water is that’s a gigantic swamp bioman even better

It’s a swamp biome not a swamp hills biome a variant of the swamp so a mechanic that a lot of people don’t know about moon phases minecraft has a surprisingly complex mechanic called moon phases now of course the moon phase stuff is based off of the real world in simple

Terms the moon phase is basically what the moon looks like we have a new moon which is a blank moon then we have a couple other phases all the way up to a full moon minecraft has eight different moon faces these moon phases are actually surprisingly complex and controlling in minecraft for example

If it’s a full moon the skeletons and zombies have a greater chance to be able to actually pick up items yeah it’s actually kind of crazy but today more importantly the moon phase is tied to slime spawning in the swamp biome if we’re lucky then we will no way nope all sevens nope

Nope nope this is over this is over it’s done we have a full moon it leads this is crazy wow what are the chances of that i mean i guess one in eight but wow wow we have a full moon which means slime spawning will be at its peak in the swamp biome

So if you didn’t know the only place the slime can spawn on the surface in your minecraft world the swamp biome in between y50 and y70 at night time if there’s room for the slime to spawn room well for a big slime to spawn you need a three by two and a half

By three block area that’s three blocks this way two and a half up and down three blocks that way what i was thinking is we could actually fill in some land in this area over here to create more spawning space then move around the outside edge of the swamp

And hopefully trigger slime to spawn in here then we can move in take them out with that spicy spicy looting three subscribe sword and get a lot of slime balls it’ll be profit then we can use those slime balls in the next episode the goal the target here have a sack of

Slime balls and with a full moon this should actually be pretty easy this is gonna be a cakewalk which is amazing now uh let’s go ahead and finish off this sack of dirt then we’ll get moving of course hostile mobs like slimes won’t spawn right next to me so we’re gonna need to

Give the slime some room also the slime are only going this morning at night time we could make a big giant dark platform the light level would be really really dark but they wouldn’t spawn if it was daytime so the light level for the slime to spawn already oh my gosh

The light level for these guys this one needs to be below seven so don’t place any torches if you’re trying to do this oh wow and once they start spawning move in and take them out they could be swan if you wait too long if you move too far away slime

Let’s go me and you buddy me and you big guy let’s go let’s go i hear a lot of mobs including creepers you know what let’s move out into the open right over here it’s nice and clear nice and clear child zombie i don’t like to i’m sorry

You know what you back it up back it up the big slimes are big dangerous hey baby zombie what is going on here go go away i know there’s a skeleton over there i was trying to check the behind okay anyways let’s take these out piece of cake

Goodbye goodbye hey iron sword zombie go away goodbye goodbye you all go away and there’s a small slime and a drowned shoe oh my gosh give me that fishing rod buddy give me the fishing rod you come back over here and give me it anyways anyways

You one by one we take them all out and multiply the slime balls easily look at this piece of cake the luck is seriously crazy we couldn’t have had a better uh night time the full moon that is crazy this is gonna be like a half stack

Easy and i’m gonna spend the rest of the night hunting slime here too yeah look at that a half stock already fishing rod please okay well i guess we can’t always be lucky wow that was chaotic chaotic for sure definitely chaotic a lot of mobs going on in this uh this swamp

But also a lot of slime balls which is all that i care about now i did see another slime that had spawned like over there i think which we should definitely yeah there’s more over there we should definitely take those on and would you look at this there is

Literally another one sitting out here too this is so crazy we couldn’t have gotten luckier i was thinking this was gonna be really difficult we have so many slime over here so many slime but we just picked them off like this oh wow we’re gonna be set for like a

Long time i could get so many slime balls and really beef this far fluff if i wanted to wow over a stack already yeah those are numbers that i definitely like real quick while i continue to hunt slime though let’s go over the mechanic again slime spawning in the swamp needs to be

A normal swamp biome not the swamp halos you can check by checking your f3 screen the y level needs to be in between y50 and y70 the time of day needs to be nighttime and the light level needs to be below seven if it’s bright the slime

Will not spawn even if it’s nighttime you can’t be too close to this line for them to spawn of course you need to give them some distance and minecraft has a mob cap so if you have a gigantic a cave down below the swamp maybe move away

From the swamp and come back and try again the mob cap can’t be filled up all right look at look at listen here your enchanted leather armor it’s a flex it’s a flex for sure but it’s not really anything compared to the nether egg okay buddy this sword just charges right through everything

Even zombies with a bone very cool very cool zombie these mobs are literally everywhere too which is crazy there are just so many mobs inside of the swamp biome big pro tip if you’re having trouble getting slime to spawn in your swamp biome try filling in blocks like i was doing

Over here but honestly it wasn’t even necessary i didn’t even need to do that that just helped even more but yeah if you fill in blocks create a spawning platform area then you’ll probably have better luck this is just seriously crazy i can’t say it enough times it’s it’s shocking i i’m genuinely

Shocked uh attack of the spiders i guess there’s like a bunch of spiders over here terrifying always biters i’m doing good yep definitely doing good i need to focus on the slime though we don’t have much time left the night time is almost gone i mean we’re way past our target but the

More i can get the better oh oh oh oh okay enderman okay yeah i see you i don’t even remember making you angry okay i see you i’m sorry about that sir come back over here we’ll fight on the land we’ll fight on the land let’s go let’s go

Let’s go me and you yep i trick you i go in the water an interesting plot twist for sure an interesting one uh but i think that’s gonna be about it for the slime spawning and the nighttime time for us to get back over to the base so he knew the comment

Of the day i think it’s safe to say that that slime hunt was a definite success definitely you know what i don’t have any extra name tags but i think it’s time i found a wild pack i’ve got the bones come on buddy come on come on come on come on

I love that wattles has full enchanted netherride armor but he still uses iron axes and shovels uh also i think it could be really cool if there was a path connecting all of the builds together so um yeah i should probably upgrade this iron axe the shovel that i don’t even have yeah

They definitely need an upgrade 100 but the path connecting the buildings hey an ocelot that’s cool uh the path is definitely going to be a thing i’m thinking it’ll go over this way and then i’ll over there and then in terms of the design i’d like to actually kind of

Start laying it out a little bit so i’m thinking path blocks for sure just kind of like normal path blocks going over then this will probably get expanded and wrap around this hill i’d like to leave the hill there i feel like that’s kind of cool

So we’ll have like a normal path black path and i’ll fill it in right now and this is only right now but right now i’m thinking maybe we just put oak on the path as well but then again i’m not too sure because i would also

Like to just have solid path block path basically what i’m saying is i’m not 100 sure but the builds definitely need a path in and i should probably do that pretty soon because right now the builds sort of feel disconnected i definitely need to get to detailing the outside of
