Is this the best gold farm in minecraft no is it the most efficient no is it the simplest no then why does it exist i wanted to challenge myself and i have a challenge for you here’s the thing these days lots of farms are pretty easy to create with minimal effort and good Output i see the same phones being used over and over i have a single player series called beyond logic and i like to design farms that are a bit different this gold farm is one i’m planning to build in that series in survival before we get into the details let’s check out Some existing gold farm designs that i want to avoid this gold farm is probably one of the easiest to build this is from my simply minecraft series we have six platforms here made of magma blocks this is where the zombified piglets will spawn they then track the turtle eggs that are in The center they fall down die of full damage and all of their drops end up in the hoppers and then transferred into the chests this farm with six layers will produce around 20 000 items per hour this next gold farm is from nembon and it uses the same concept where Zombified piglets spawn on magma block platforms and then track the turtle eggs in the center the shape of the platforms have been optimized so the zombified piglets have less distance to walk and so they die quicker freeing up the mob cap as quick as possible to increase the Rates even further you can afk at the bottom here and kill the piglens with your looting sword that will multiply the items that these guys drop that gives you an extra problem underneath where you have to have a more complicated system to deal with all the Items as this phone produces over 90 000 items per hour and lastly this one by glott uses portals on the nether side with an afk player above the piglens spawn inside the portal blocks themselves and gets transported to the overworld for processing all of the zombified piglets come through a single Portal with a second player underneath to kill them with looting the combination of portals teleporting the zombified piglets away instantaneously and the looting effect means that this farm can produce over half a million items per hour and of course there are other concepts you can go with like the Classic donut style farm or the overworld portal farm but what’s wrong with all these farms well nothing really they’re all pretty good and in fact i’d argue that for most players my simply minecraft version is more than enough gold for most players uh if you want a Bit more than that then i’d definitely recommend the nimbon one because that is super simple to build and you can do it on the nether roof and it’s super simple so what’s the problem here why have i designed this brand new gold farm well because i find those farms pretty boring There’s nothing challenging in creating a few spawning platforms adding some turtle eggs and watching the gold roll in the cuboid of portals is a bit overdone in my opinion we can use the same thing not only for gold but for ghast mapping cubes and also slimes and I want to do something a bit different so when i sat down to design a new farm for the beyond logic series i thought i’d give myself a couple of rules a few constraints to make this farm a bit more interesting and so there are four simple Constraints no turtle legs no portals a pretty good output similar to nimbon’s design and of course only one player required this of course gives us some challenges to overcome to keep the rates high we need to do a couple of things first of all we need to have the Shortest lifespan we can for the zombified piglens so they dive super quick and free up the mob cap for more to spawn i also want to design it so i could be placed as low as possible in the world and of course then we need to deal with all the items this farm Produces as we fly around this farm you’ll notice it’s inside another perimeter with the bedrock above and below removed and yes i’m planning to do this in survival in my beyond logic series so why not subscribe and check out the progress as we go what we’re Going to do now is explain how this farm works and i’ll show you how to build all the different components that make this farm possible because this foam is modular you can make it as big or as small as you like make sure you stick around to the end of the video where I’ll give you a full tour of all the bits and pieces of this farm and show you it working but first let’s turn this farm off and now nothing’s spawning before we start building you’re going to need enough space the version i’m building here is 102 blocks deep 87 Blocks wide and 28 blocks high but you can make this bigger or smaller if you like you need to build this farm in the nether wastes so do some exploring and find this biome before you start building the farm you can build this farm inside the nether waste as i am or If you prefer you can build it on top of the roof itself now height is important let me explain why you may have heard that mob spawning is faster lower down in the world and that is true so let me explain why that is so when the game Wants to spawn a mob it first of all picks a random x and z coordinate and then it looks to see what is the highest block in that column so let’s say it picks this block right here this x and z coordinate and then it looks above to See what is the highest block now in this case this is the highest block and this is at y level zero so when it when it tries to pick a block to spawn a mob on it picks a random block in this column up to the highest block so in This case there’s only one block it’s at y level zero and so there’s 100 chance that this block is the block selected to spawn a mob if we look at this block here the highest block here is at y level one and so when it picks a block To spawn on it picks a random block in this column up to the highest block and so here you can see there’s two blocks to choose from so there’s a 50 50 chance which block is selected likewise here at why level two is the highest block so Here we have a 33 chance of in any of these blocks being selected so you can see as we get higher and higher in the world there’s a lower and lower chance that block is selected if we have an example here where we have a block that The heist block is at y level 9 then we have any block in this column has a 10 chance of being selected to spawn a mob so here what we’re trying to do is trying to have the the mob farm as low down in the world as we can to maximize The percentage chance that our block is selected to spawn the mobs over at the farm you can see that this is made up of lots of channels each of these channels are exactly the same so what i want to do now is show you how to build up one Of these channels and then all you need to do is duplicate it across for each of the channels you need first of all you need a row of hoppers i have 67 of those in each of the channels over there in the main farm just got a few here for Demonstration purposes but what happens here is this is where the zombified piglets land they land on top of the hoppers dropping all of their items into the hoppers we have this glass around the outside that’s to make sure that all the items stay on top of the hoppers and Get sucked up and we don’t lose anything that way all the items then end up in this item elevator that goes up here up into these hoppers and then across into this hopper right here now down here we have this an observer clock where two observers face each other that powers The item elevator through these these are these observers as well and then when it comes through here we then have an optional item filter at the back here this is set up to filter out the rotten flash because i don’t want those i want To get rid of all of that from flash so real flesh comes down through this hopper into this dropper right here and this is also powered by the same observer clock that powers the the the elevator so let’s pop a couple of items into here just to simulate and you can See here that uh the the uh the zombified flash comes out of here and because i’m building this dough down in the world it’s going to go into the void and get deleted now if you build this foam up in another roof then you can add Add some lava here if you like to delete that but this is totally optional you could just have all of the items coming through to this hopper right here and you can see we’re left with the gold so what do we do with it next next we add a Shulker loader onto the side and this design is not by me this is by a youtuber called hex regulus there’ll be a link in the description of course if you want to full follow the full tutorial but it’s pretty cool and nice and compact it’s only two blocks wide And let’s see how this how this works so the hopper here that has all the items in then goes into into a shulker here which is sitting on some soul sand with a hopper underneath it to collect all of the boxes once they’re full up and then Next to it you can see just how this farm is built up we’ve got a comparator to work out whether the box needs breaking we’ve got an observer on top bit of redstone quite straightforward and so over here we have a dispenser and this has some empty empty shulkers in it Next to this we have some hoppers this is how we get more shulkers into the loader and of course once it gets broken uh the the the shulker gets put put through the the soul sand into these hoppers right here now we need to chain all of these together so there’s Conveniently a nice hole here this is where you put your hoppers to come through so we just need to add some hoppers this way and then that’s where all of the shulker boxes will come and they go all the way this way and of course as you add these lanes next to Each other you can add these hoppers through the holes here uh to link them all together next we place composters on top of all of the open hoppers down here and also along here uh we also add some glass on the front here this is to keep The shulker in place when it gets broken uh to make sure it goes into the sole sand and into the hoppers and we add some more glass over here this is going to be for the rail line to refill the shulkers the reason for adding the Composters is to reduce a little bit of lag from these open hoppers so the next circuit to add is this green one over here this is the on and off switch for this part of the farm and how that’s going to work is we’re going to retract This observer which is part of the observer clock using this sticky piston here so this just needs to get powered now if you build this on top of the nether roof you can just had a line on the redstone here and all is good but Because this is built up y level 0 we’ve got no blocks underneath to put the redstone on and we need to make sure that the redstone doesn’t conflict with anything else over here especially the the item filter over here so what i’ve done uh for this part of the farm is uh We triggered the on and off switch with this uh this trapdoor here that gets noticed by this observer which powers his rail line and then all of the on and off switches that have come along here and here get uh notice that the power has come onto the rail for these Observers that gets propagated through these observers and note blocks all the way along uh to the piston which will then extend and take out to the the observer so if i flip this you can see that pulls out to that observer which stops the clock a few little details Here we’ve added added this gloss block here because that goes next to this this dispenser so there’s going to be a dispenser just here and that’s that is going to be spitting out all of the the flesh and this just stops the flesh gathering on top of that that observer Right there and we can see here in the full farm how those on off switches are linked together so here is the rail and you can see we have eight rails uh in between and then we have to have this observer here to propagate the signal Along to the next eight rails and you can see here all of the on off switches all follow this line all the way along next add some powered rails on top of these blocks over here that’s for the shulker reloading system and now this is a complete uh complete module and so Over here on this farm on the full farm i’ve got 27 of these in a row so you could build less than that if you want i wouldn’t build any more than that but 27 is what i’ve got over there for reasons i’ll explain that in a minute and as i Said the hoppers over here again that’s the number of hops you have here is optional as well so i’ve got 67 in this farm you can have just as many or a bit less if you like obviously depending on how many of those you have will affect your rates but if You build build one of these modules the same that i have each one of these modules will be at a process around 3 000 items per hour and so in my testing this phone will produce around 83 000 items per hour so it’s not quite as many As the num bom design but certainly in the same ballpark and i think that ticks off one of our goals now that we know how to build one channel and you’ve duplicated that across 27 times it’s now time to add the shulker reloading system so we’ve already added the rails on top But what we need to do now is we need to send over this uh this minecart chest and this has got all of the empty shocker boxes ready for reloading now there’s 27 slots in one of those and that’s why we have 27 lanes so when this Minecart goes across it can deposit one shulker one empty shulker in each of the each of the lanes all the way to the very end and then come back so it’s an equal distribution across all of the lanes now how do we trigger this off well all of those lanes fed up their Boxes at roughly the same rate so we just need to detect when one box has been broken then we can send the minecart along and we do that by this little circuit here so on the very last of your of your lanes just add just add this repeater here because this Block gets powered as part of the shulker loader and then we just propagate the signal up here powers this the this uh this block behind this target block there’s a powered rail underneath here and of course that then sends the minecart along it will go across adding one empty shulker to each Of these each of these hoppers until it gets to the very end when it gets to the last one just have to have a solid block and then that powers it back and sends it back for refilling and as you can see in the main farm all we need to do is Add some redstone blocks every 14 rails that means that all the rails are powered up to the very end the next thing to add is the storage for our output so all we need to do here on the very last channel is add some further some further hoppers to the output this Is where all of the filled shutter boxes come along this line and then add a bunch of hoppers underneath that go into a bunch of double chests so here i’ve got eight double chests this is enough storage for around 20 hours of afk in so that’s for all of the chests and the Hoppers behind to store all the boxes so that should be plenty and then i’ve just added this platform here so we can stand on here with some stairs here so we can get access to the bottom chest as well now obviously if you want to have some More storage for longer afk sessions you can extend this out a bit more next let’s add our on and off switch so above our storage system just added a lever here with some redstone that goes all the way down here to the trap door so that will power that as we’ve seen Before so to demonstrate if we look down here we can see our farm is currently off with the observer sticking out if i uh power this that pushes it back in so that means our observer is on and blinking and if we turn it off again it Turns the whole farm off the last thing to add on the lower level is a convenient way to get empty shulker boxes back into the into the minecart up there obviously if we’re down here doing our crafting we’re going to be emptying out our boxes and then we need a Convenient way to get them back into the minecart at the top so all we do here is we’ve added this chest that goes into this item elevator this is not my design this is by mizuma games so kaz on the mizuno games channel it’s got a really good uh series on item elevators There’ll be a link in the description but basically we have this item elevator that takes the empty shulker box up here and then we have this uh storage chests here that’s act as a buffer and then a simple hopper that goes into the into the minecart here ready for reloading All the shulkers next we’ll start working on the spawning platform above and what you need to do first of all is have the right amount of space uh between your hoppers and the magma blocks that are going to be on the top here so you need to have um 23 air Blocks of space so these are these concrete blocks here i imagine they’re they are the the air in between there’s 23 of those and so the magma block here goes on the 24th block and then this is the the module for doing the spawning so basically the uh the zombified figures Will spawn on the magma block we use metal blocks so we don’t get to the normal piglens we just get zombified piglens there’s string on top of that there’s an observer looking at the string so when a mob spawns in that that will then trigger uh this piston here Through quasi connectivity that then pulls the the megawatt back and the the mob can fall down and die so if we uh spawn a mob it falls down lands on the hoppers and dies so you’ve got to make sure that your macro blocks line up with the hoppers and depending On how many hobbies you’ve made you need to duplicate this this across the same number of times so we’ve got 67 in this farm so depending on how many coppers you have duplicate this along all the way to the end of course you can tile These next to each other so you have one layer of magma blocks for each lane of hoppers and of course these all work independently so it doesn’t matter where where a mob spawns each piston works independently of each other and i’ve done it like this for two reasons first Of all as soon as the mob spawns they fall down so we get to kill the kill the mobs as quick as possible to threat the mob cap for multispawn and if we have this working independently that means we have as many uh spawnable blocks as Possible in the farm for more bulbs to spawn the next thing you can add is optional but this is uh to come inside with our on and off switch and that is some lamps so here we have some some redstone lamps we’ve got a gap of two Between every single lamp and of course we just have some redstone and repeaters to propagate the signal across all of them and you can see the reason for that is that i’ve swapped out the magma blocks so you can see this this is the light level uh produced by these now Zombified piglets will spawn at level 11 and below so if you have a lamp with two with a gap of two in between we can get to level 12 and we do that all across the farm so if you look over here you can see it’s just a case of uh yeah Having lots of lamps across with a gap of two in between and then obviously periodically you need to have your repeaters to propagate the redstone signal across all the lines and all of the lamps next we need to connect the lamps to our master switch down here in The collection area so let me show you how to do that if you come around here add a sticky piston next to this block here and then add 11 slime blocks on top of that on top of that add a redstone block a gap and then another sticky Piston and then add another one two three four five six seven uh slime blocks on top of that then we have another redstone block and then this you can see we’ll then connect over here to the redstone over here so our master on a switch will not only stop the clocks In a collection area down there but it will also turn off the lamps up here too the last thing to do is to extend this roof around the outside of the farm i’ve extended it by 10 blocks in all directions i’m using glass here because it’s non-spawnable you could also use Bottom slabs as well that would also work now how this works is what happens is when the game tries to spawn a mob as we said before it will pick a block from the bottom most of the world up to the top most block now in this case this is This uh this gloss platform here now if it can’t spawn a mob it will also try and spawn mobs around it in a pack a pack of four when it comes to the zombified piglens so for example if it picks this block right here to spawn a Mob obviously it won’t spawn i’m up here because that’s non-spawnable but it will try and still uh spawn some mobs around it so that will encourage some more mobs to spawn inside our farm over here if you want to learn more details about pack spawning i’ve got a video on my Channel already explaining all the details so i’ll put a link in the description the last thing to do is add an afk spot for a player and here is this one right here now the position of this will depend on how big you make your farm The the rules though are make sure this is up at least 24 blocks above your farm so that won’t that will make sure that mobs will spawn and also make sure it’s inside a radius of 128 blocks from the player and i can show you that radius uh By pressing my little hotkey this is a mod called mini hud uh that it showed us our light levels earlier and it shows this spawning sphere this is a radius of 128 blocks from this afk spot and you can see our farm is nicely inside this Sphere which is which is all cool uh but just make sure there are no other spawnable blocks inside this sphere so if you build it on top of the nether roof uh make sure your afk spot is as high as possible but make sure the farm is still inside that sphere that will Probably mean there are some some spawnable spaces underneath the bedrock so you’ll need to either remove those blocks or spawn proof them in some way and that’s all there is to it so let’s turn this farm on and give it a closer look so first of all let’s look at the Spawning platform here you can see uh the zombified piglets they spawn on american blocks and as soon as they do they drop to their death so there’s no time for them to walk to to a central place to fall down they just drop down immediately which frees up the mob cap Super quick for more mobs to spawn and here we can see the spawning platform from below and the pistons removing the maple blocks allowing the zombified piglets to fall down land on the hoppers and of course the hops will then collect their drops now sometimes you will see Some mobs down here so here we have uh some some chicken jockeys that’s okay you won’t get too many of those but they will just spawn in time so that’s not a big problem sometimes you will get the odd as the zombie zombie pigman standing on the Glass that’s because i think they start pathfinding maybe as soon as they spawn and so they just clip onto the glass again you don’t get too many of those maybe one or two now and again but again they will despawn over time as we’ve seen already the drops will come through These hoppers all the way down into our item elevator across here and then into the sorting system down here and as you can see underneath we have all of the flesh falling down into the void because we don’t want to collect all of that the Rest of the drops then end up into our shulker box loaders so we can take a look inside one of these there we go that is filling up with gold once that fills up of course it will then break and come into the system underneath and Then we need to have a look at our shulker refilling system over here and so we just need to wait for our last lane to break a shulker box and there it goes and that signals for the uh the minecart to go along and of course as it Goes across the rails it will deposit one empty shulker box in each of the each of the channels and then it’ll come to the very end hit the block and then bounce back ready for refilling with more shulker boxes whenever a shulker box gets broken all of the shulker boxes Will come along this hopper line as we’ve seen already and then into our storage system so here you have all of your all of your gold nuggets without any of the rotten flesh in shulker boxes ready for crafting or whatever you need to do so is this the best gold farm in Minecraft no far from it in fact it’s not at all but i had a lot of fun designing it and i’m going to have a lot of fun trying to build it in survival in my series beyond logic and i’d argue that that is much more important having Fun is more important than trying to squeeze out the most efficient farm possible i think having fun is much more important so here’s my challenge to you as i said earlier i have a challenge for you and that is when it comes to building a farm maybe try not to build The box standard font maybe try and put your own twist on it if you find it difficult to do that maybe uh give yourself some self-imposed rules uh to to stop using the the obvious way to do things and try and think a little bit different and i think that is a much More fun and much more enjoyable way to play the game if you want to build this film for yourself there’ll be a link to a like matic in the description so you can download that and yeah give it a whirl and good luck if you try and build This yourself in survival i’d like to see how it turns out if you have any suggestions of how to improve this farm then please stick a comment down below i’ll be reading all of those and then hopefully we can make some improvements before i build this for real in survival That’ll be interesting to see what kind of tweaks we can come up with anyway i hope you enjoyed the video and if you did please hit the like button and until next time i will see you later you Video Information

Today we design a new gold farm that isn’t one of the normal standard designs. In this tutorial we add some self imposed rules to make things more interesting. Is this the best gold farm in Minecraft? No, not at all but it was a lot of fun designing it. This farm is for Java Edition, I’ve not tested it in Bedrock Edition so your mileage my vary. This farm produces over 83,000 items per hour into total and includes a filter to delete the rotten flesh. It also includes a shulker box loader to gather all the gold nuggets for you. This farm is not about being the most efficient, it’s more about having the most fun rather than building the same old farms.
