Resource packs have always been a huge part of Minecraft, especially right after they became popularized with players in 2011 and 2012. While some resource packs offer very little changes from the main game to the rendition of its graphics, others tend to take advantage of every pixel And change the game to an almost unrecognizable state, making Minecraft look entirely new and almost seem like a different game. Some of these resource packs became extremely popular with players, and many have stood the test of time and are even updated to this day after being released so many years ago. In this video, we’ll be showcasing the most popular resource packs according to Planet Minecraft, and seeing why they became so beloved with players over the years since their release. So without any further ado, let’s get right into it. [*AntVenom* Intro] So first up, meet Dokucraft: The Saga Continues. Dokucraft became the fifth most downloaded texture pack on Planet Minecraft, being downloaded over 1.1 million times. Being aesthetically centered around an RPG theme, Dokucraft had a very enchanting design, intending to make the game feel more detailed and serious unlike the main, included texture pack with Minecraft. Dokucraft came in three forms– Light, which is the original, more vibrant and more detailed texture pack; Dark, which featured a desaturated and more shadowy undertone; and High, which is considered to have a high elven theme. The resource pack eventually even added some Aether support, which was almost unheard of back when texture packs started becoming popularized. The texture pack is still being updated to this very day, and has added even more mod support. It can now be downloaded from their website which can be found in the description of this video. So, have you noticed what’s different about this texture pack yet? It’s okay if you haven’t, because I’ll explain it right now. This texture pack is known as Default 3D, and has become the fourth most downloaded texture pack on Planet Minecraft, with more than 1.2 million downloads. Rather than making the game look absolutely different, Default 3D takes the core resource pack And allows very specific things such as ores, ladders, doors and many more items to have certain parts of their design recessed and extended. This resource pack appealed to many as the game seemed to be too flat and didn’t have a lot of depth in terms of the design of items. The resource pack is currently updated to 1.12, and can be downloaded from the creator’s website; again, a link will be included in the description below. If you were watching Minecraft videos on YouTube in 2011 and 2012, you’ll probably remember the oCd texture pack. oCd became the third most downloaded texture pack On Planet Minecraft, and was supported for over three years, amassing nearly 1.8 million downloads. Created by FVDisco, the texture pack became extremely recognizable with most of his build projects and experiments. The texture pack was insanely simplified in its design, consisting of extremely flat colors and being very angular, Featuring only straight lines and 90-degree angles. oCd became popular with players of the game, allowing for a smooth playing experience, as the texture pack was not resource heavy and helped out with some lag at least a little bit. While FVDisco hasn’t updated the oCd texture pack since release 1.8, Its legacy will definitely live on in resource pack heaven. If you want to download the pack, and maybe mess around with it in a past version of Minecraft, a link will be in the description below. If you’ve played Minecraft for an extremely long time, There is a very high chance that you’ve run into the Sphax PureBDcraft resource pack. Uploaded on Planet Minecraft almost 6 years ago, the resource pack has been downloaded for over 2,000,000 times on the website alone. Quote unquote, “Designed to make Minecraft looks like a comic book,” PureBDcraft was a favorite among many And it’s still a favorite to this very day. Still being updated all the way up to 1.12 pre-release version of Minecraft, Sphax PureBDcraft has definitely stood the test of time. The resource pack has been constantly updated and has come in many different forms over the years. They’ve even made a Pocket Edition version of it. PureBDcraft can be found in resolutions reaching all the way from the traditional 16 by 16 all the way up to the 512 by 512. It definitely lasted a long time and it’s here to stay, provided that they continue to update it. A link can be found, along with the other ones, in the description of this video if you want to check them out for yourself. And now we reach the number one, most downloaded texture pack on all of Planet Minecraft. LB Photo Realism pushes some many boundaries, Being one of the first texture packs to quite literally to make Minecraft’s look, aesthetic feel and design seen brand new. The resource pack is intensive, almost being unusable for some computers. If you downloaded the texture pack, it was probably just to see if you could even run it smoothly at all, Which, if you had to question it, you probably couldn’t. The design of this texture pack was to look and feel as if you are looking at a picture of the texture you were staring at, rather than looking at something in-game. As the main suggests, photo realism was the goal. This resource pack amassed over 2.3 million downloads, and it’s still considered to be one of the best resource packs to ever be created, even if a large majority of people can barely utilize it to its fullest extent, as least when it came out. LB Photo Realism shaped the way creators of texture packs’ thought, and many others attempt to follow suit, pushing the boundaries to their fullest extent. If you’d like to download LB Photo Realism along with any of the others, a link will be included in the description down below. Give Minecraft’s most popular resource pack a chance and see if you can run it. So, what did you think about these resource packs?
