BatHeart Games – Mage Rage July 2021 – week 1 – “The Magic Realm!”

Um hello welcome to a brand new month of major age and to celebrate i’m picking storm glasses undress the doctor strange and a dark oak wand and my spells are going to be fire revealing blink mining and annihilation now the big thing this month is we’ve got a whole new realm

The magic realm has opened up but first of all let’s see the collection okay blue glass cut copper slab black wool coarse dirt six warp trap doors dark oak wood raw gold a dispenser and lapis okay so we we don’t necessarily have to go to the

Magic realm to get any of those but i probably will because i don’t why would i stay away gotta find out what this whole new thing is all about okay so let’s start off in the familiar fashion by grabbing some wood and let’s get over here and let’s see oh actually

If i grab some a gravel so that’s the word for it gravel and dirt i can make one item coarse dirt and we’re underway already here’s a nice big tree but what about stone are you gonna find some stone somewhere see i’ve chosen a few well a couple of ways of traveling

This this time there was the fire and blink but also the fire i’m hoping can get me some cooked food really don’t know whether that’s gonna work it’s quite strange the way i’m punching the cows out of their bodies and just leaving the meat behind woo look a geode right here

But i’m not sure i need the geode so let’s just practice the annihilation first now okay bit of stone and what have we got in here copper and coal down this little branch why a bit worried okay one thing i have set up for this month

No no this this month this week is is the um revealing plus blink uh night vision Which is gonna be useful although i must not fool myself into thinking that i’ve lit up an area just because i can see it all okay that’s one combo done already so soon i’m about five minutes in i suppose stop and think check in the collection what do i need to be doing

Okay what do i need to be doing so let’s let’s annihilate a squid to get the black coloration and then let’s go and find a sheep color it black and annihilate it no drop it into a hole by accident and then annihilate it once it’s in the hole well that works doesn’t it

Okay so that’s two items on the collection already so there are some easy peasy ones that can be done what about the this this magic realm though is it time to go there is it no still thinking about things yes no let’s go there oh i’ve wiped out my coordinates accidentally

But never mind here is the magic realm magic realm consists of three different biomes at the moment i think there’s going to be more added later but for the moment we’ve got this which is the the ironworks one i believe pretty worrying having all these giant jumping magma cubes around um

Yeah i’m checking what things are made of you know what kind of wood is this um seems to be spruce so not not something that i need um just over there this next one is why it’s all gone well it’s either gone dark because the time is accelerated um In in the magic realm or because i’ve gone into this part which is the this biome is the magic um oh i’m being attacked hey a witch oh no i’m i’m in a complete flurry and conundrum with this witch and i’ve i’ve done all kinds of wrongs wrong spells and got myself injured

Right down to half a heart now if only i had pain on my bar but no let’s go back to the overworld right yes there i think there’s there’s an amethyst no you silly on half a heart i fell down a small hole and died but never mind never mind let’s calm down

And have a look around and see what we’ve got around us and what we might be able to do i haven’t made even the basic tools or cooked my food or anything like that yet so let’s let’s get underway and try and do a few of those um and cook up some

Copper yes if i cook up enough copper i should be able to make a copper block which is on its way to making a copper cut copper slab which is what i need for the collection okay calmness calmness nothing’s attacking me yet yes there are three biomes in the

Magic realm we saw two of them there the other one is a sort of amethyst amethyst mountains i’m tempted to say i i it’s yeah there and and we’ve really got to explore and find out what all of them are about now on that flying visit i think i oh

Dragon white dragon um yeah on that flying visit i didn’t really do much more than run through a couple of the biomes blink myself around yeah so next time we’ll be back and we’ll see whether we can gather anything useful from there can we mine all of our workbenches and furnaces

No a complete fail but before we go let’s make a couple of tools why not okay right the sun has risen let’s kill a spider it might give us some string because i i need a bow to be able to make the dispenser okay yeah that’s the other thing

For now and for the future we’ve got a silk touch pick so although we may or may not need it for parts of the collection i shouldn’t forget that i can actually get stone now what i’m thinking of now is muddled thinking i’m thinking that i have to cook up the

Stone to make smooth stone to make a stone cutter and then that stone cutter can turn my copper block into a cut copper slab it isn’t true you don’t actually need to have smooth stone to make a stone cutter it’s just ordinary stone i’ll find that out sooner or later

Right where are you going now let’s look in a cave we need iron certainly we’ve got to go to the nether where those warped um trap doors are not going to make themselves without going to the mother so let’s use the night vision go down here grab some some iron

We do need gold we want to go deep don’t we um i think even excess gold would be good because if we go into the nether it yeah you should you should wear the right thing shouldn’t you okay that’s the night vision again keep keep the night vision

Working all this big old that’s that’s enough for what i need for the raw gold for the connection oh lapis i’ve walked right into lapis you know how that tends to hide well on this occasion i’ve managed to actually get a bit of lapis so i can’t keep doing night vision forever

And also i it is dark round here even though i can see so mobs will spawn and just walk up to me so i thought i’ll light up a few bits of the area first okay settle down and craft a few things bit worried about zombies nearby but zombies are nothing too scary

They’re just interruptions let’s have a look what’s down here i’m really making full use of this um night vision aren’t i oh that could have been nasty i lost all my coal though no i’ve decided to jump in there anyway just to get back on the surface all right

So i haven’t really done much crafting i’ve kind of wasted a bit of time i’ve i haven’t made my stone cutter yet so there’s all kinds of things that are not happening yet what i am doing is i’m kind of looking around to see if i

Can find a dark oak forest because i do need that but while i’m on my way let’s let’s actually do that crafting ah imagine of course i’ve got the the raw iron and the lapis now so that’s four items out of the collection so i’m taking stock i’m

Looking through all the other things um i can make some blue dye because i need to make blue glass um there’s my stone cutter properly done put that yes i can make a copper slab so that’s my fifth item done let’s grab all these and get underway again

Um possibly oh all right let’s go to the magic realm why not why stay away i’m in the the dead forest or whatever it’s called don’t seem to be any mobs in here with me but um oh there’s the amethyst mountains over there hang on a minute there’s string string available

I tried to mine it so that doesn’t work but if i have a sword i can grab a few of these but ah you really do make things hard for yourself don’t you there we go one two and a third one and there we are we’ve got our

Our strength to make a bow so we’re on our way to the dispenser don’t forget though that you need things from deep underground you need some redstone to make a dispenser as well i think i’m i’m not being very good at taking stock of what what i need right now this is

I’m not doing the getting on with the challenge type of thing i’m doing more exploring and i just want to be in this new magic realm wow there are some mobs up here it’s so weird to be running around what seems to be a geode inside out

I am sure i think i can give any any mobs that i ran around and he gave me one punch but okay right what else can we find back into these metal whatever they’re called metal planes flats and into the forest again so that’s all the biomes now hey who was that

That sounded like an ancient mage i didn’t spot him but he was shooting at me that’s what that pop sound usually means is let’s hop over here for a moment i hope that i’m away from anything bad that might be trying to get me and what can i make is there anything i

Can probably make that bow can’t i yes let’s make a bow so i’m probably around about now thinking oh yeah redstone that’s what i need but also what is this wood that is a dark oak log if i may if i grab another few of them i can rub

Rub them together put them together and that makes the dark oak wood one two three four five seven out of nine already crafted let’s go back to the overworld hello piggy right i think it’s about time to get some more mundane things there there are some very ordinary things that you can

You can get and sand is one of them and that will allow you to finish off um another another block and probably you you’ll be down to just one remaining won’t you i’m not sure there’s the dispenser there’s the blue glass yeah i think that is right now i’ve got three items remaining

I’ve got to go to the nether that’s what’s going to take the rest of the time isn’t it um yeah i’ve got i’m thinking about it all you can you can hear the furious whirring this is something which i tend to fall into the trap of doing when i’m recording without commentating

Um i’ll just sit and cook things and i absolutely never do that when i’m talking to people at the time because i think it’s going to be too boring um anyway there’s there’s the blue glass here i wasn’t delayed too long but um yeah it is strange that if i play

Without talking to anyone i play some parts of it in a slightly different way that was almost a very different way of doing things i i hadn’t realized there was lava underground when i blinked i nearly blinked myself straight down a little hole into the lava right let’s go deep deep deep

Underground and get that redstone and then i should be able to make my dispenser that was an attempt to do the night vision it doesn’t work you don’t do it like that i can hear lava bubbling furiously all around me so i’m i’m not carrying on the straight down

Digging um from there and just in case i drop straight into it and waste all my time but um let’s let’s now go deep um once you get down to oh there’s caves that’s where the caves are they seem to be kind of under me as well so

I’ll be careful not to just dig straight into them and land on a creeper creepers don’t like being landed on or maybe they do they they possibly love it um anyway now another thing i can do is the aura locator if i hold there we go and it says

Redstone here 10 blocks away so that has saved me a bit of searching around it says down here in amongst the deep slate i think there is going to be some redstone i’m trying to keep my direction ah that was that was where it was pointing now of course i can’t use mining

Directly on it whoa what a full inventory yes i can’t i have to point at the next block to it to to mine it the redstone but that worked out all right and now i should be able to put together there we go dispenser and the

All that is left for me to do is to go to that nether and search for a um a thingy search for a thingy yes indeed what is this thingy of which you search it’s um a warped forest biome in the nether and then i should be able to chop down some trees

And make myself six trapdoors that sounds like quite a lot of trees okay what are you doing are you getting out of here or are you dying down here let’s try and get out let’s see let’s see how well we can i’m making my way oh can i even go up that high

Perhaps i’ll oh it’s easier to die isn’t it let’s see if i can break through and get get a friendly mob to kill me please kill me please kill me hello farmer sir right okay i’m on the surface it’s night time what do i do about getting the materials i’m actually

Looking for a a lava lake now possibly i don’t need to because i know where there’s lots of lava if i go to the magic realm i could have gone to the magic realm and splushed water now remember to pick up some water first i’m a bit too stressed and

Frantic to remember that i’m going to be picking up water now now you’ve picked up the water there you go right how do we do this where did i see a lava pond i don’t know yes it would really help if i go to the magic realm and there’s nice big

Laugh ponds there i can splush the water on them and then i can gather the obsidian so trying to get up high to have a good look around because the lava that is right here is no good it’s just a single block floating flow flowing not floating going down the mountainside now there’s

Some lava over this way i think but it’s very close to where there are lots of mobs um including a couple of ancient mages even so hang on let’s see if i can somehow distract all the mobs and get them away from that place where there’s a a lava pond

I’m just under the surface just here well is that actually going to make it any better because if i turn the the whole area into an inferno i’m not sure that i’m going to like it too much over there either i haven’t got lava to hold on my wand this month this week

Which would have given me some fire protection now let’s just generally annihilate anyone and hopefully there won’t be quite so many mobs for me to deal with oh it’s an annihilation spectacular right there they’re all dead let’s go down here plop some water on the lava jump down here ah creeper

Half my one heart was it or was it even half a heart for a moment hmm and the worst thing about the worst thing about it was that i had thought there was only one hole in the ceiling there we go so i’ve gathered some obsidian

How much i’ve got nine nine out of the ten obsidian that i need so that felt a little bit frustrating at that moment to um not have extra but then i’ve i think i’ve actually thought i might get something from this forest not this forest but the um the other biome the metals

The metal grounds whatever they’re called where are you looking where are you going okay there we go look big lava ponds just uh just here there we go so i could have got all of my my obsidian from there but now i have got what i need

So why are you still running around in here that’s the question but anyway i don’t know what i’m doing oh look i i’m very interested in having seen a bastion over here i’m thinking well i’ve seen it now i can’t really avoid it is there going to be anything that is

Any use to me in a bastion um but i’m going there anyway i need it i need it oh it’s dark ground here isn’t it because it’s in the dead forest oh there’s big blocks of gold now that would help me when i go to the nether

Of course i’ve got half a mind that perhaps there are some walked logs in here but i’m i’m not really hopeful of that this is frustrating i’m trying to land beside the gold block but it’s not letting me or i’m not accurate enough to do it pillar up that’s the only way

To get there come on you you’re nearly there there we go have you got it i haven’t picked it up your inventory is too full it’s just here it’s it’s pinged right throw away some garbage there’s just so much that you don’t need yeah that stone cutter did its job you don’t need

It anymore and in fact let’s turn the gold block into ingots and into a chest plate Right and now back to the overworld says mr enderman ah that was a witch’s ride screaming at me which is right around on oh look look she’s she’s flying around around on a phantom and flinging potions at me but she’s not very accurate thankfully the potion’s going off in every direction

No that doesn’t work i was trying to see whether i could preempt where she was heading for and and fire a fireball at her oh we got everything around here we’ve got an ancient mage i need to go somewhere much safer okay now another slight miscalculation on my part

I’m thinking that i need a flint of steel to light my portal when i make it um now i’ve actually got a fire spell so i don’t need a fence and steel but i’m not to be distracted once i’m once i’m looking for that gravel so here i go i’m thinking

Up on those mountains if i can make it across to the mountains there there’s bound to be tons of um of gravel up there even if i’m not finding any of it in the swamp in the water but up here surely surely where is it yeah loads of it here

Come on it didn’t none of it broke there right now i’ve got got what i needed let’s go over to here just out of sight i was making that mistake again of putting my gold armor on a little bit too soon it’s a bit worrying to do that because um any

Any scraps you get into after you’ve got the gold armor on could break it completely and then what was the point of putting it on in the first place okay this tree if as long as the ancient mage doesn’t see me this tree is going to be a good place

I’m trying to send him further away and drop him in a hole i’m just generally annoying him but up here on this tree is going to be where i make my portal i’ve actually got extra obsidian so you can put a corner on if you feel like it

I’m not one for prettiness though and we are right in the warped forest who would have believed it smack in the middle of it i haven’t got to do any searching what a relief that is so i’ve grabbed a ton without counting i never count do i i’ve grabbed a ton of um

Warped wood and i should be able to make those trapdoors so let’s think about things and how fast can i make this oh you get two for each recipe boom 54 minutes and 11 seconds after all the wasted time it was still a 50 minute

Um but that was what this week was all about was exploring and seeing the magic realm okay i’ll be that back next week thank you very much for watching bye
