Building style mm I can’t talk about this little bit in the past a little bit but it was a reddit post recently that caught my eye not a very high uploaded reddit post but at the same time it caught my eye because this is a topic

That I think about quite often you know I’m I consider myself if I was supposed to be put into a box in this game I would consider myself a builder not a redstone er no no not a PV beer a builder that would that’s what I would

Call myself but did so so building in general is something that kind of is important to me I so this post was talking about how how what was the topic called hmm do I have it up on my other screen I might ah the title is am I the only

One who prefers blocka SHhhh simple buildings they say that the more busy buildings the built by people like gran gran gran they’ve become too artificial was the term which I have a hard time wrapping my mind around I don’t understand artificial in terms of buildings and

Then being too but then he said the meanwhile more simple builds that anybody could build convey more of a homely feel and then there were some people that commented and agreed obviously because that that post caught their eye because they felt the same way so I’m curious to know what you guys

Feel this is a majority thing do a lot of people feel like a house that has the way I kind of picture it is like this where if you build a house you want it to have perfectly straight lines you know if you build a roof you want it to

Be a perfect 45-degree angle right to me the way I’ve always looked at this is I’ve thought it’s too simple it’s too simple I do agree that there is a level of detail in buildings that get so immense that it’s a little unappetizing for yourself when you see a building that’s just

Perfect perfect straight lines like this you know perfect straight lines no real offshoots or anything like that it’s look at all the cats oh my gosh I feel like it’s appealing because it’s inspiring because you feel like this is something I can do I could do this but

Then you see something like oh my you know you lately they’ve been these mega scale builds with just immense amounts of detail and we’re the picture you’re looking at like at 3,000 by 3,000 block picture of this huge dragon with all this detail and these particles all over it and stuff

One block looks like a miniscule pixel those I would consider to be the highest level of detail in Minecraft building and to me I get it I don’t look at that and think I’m inspired it doesn’t inspire me it’s cool great but it doesn’t really inspire me

Too much because it’s not something that I can do in the game I think it’s impressive but it just doesn’t inspire me so to me the way I look at it though at the end of the day there is no right or wrong it’s an art form in a way and

You have your own taste I don’t think that the right way to build in this game is as simple as possible I don’t think that’s even bad I don’t think simple builds are bad I think simple bills are good and they can be done very very well

And be very very impressive but it’s all to your taste you know some people use certain blocks that people really don’t like now certain block pallets and color palettes that people really don’t like no matter what the shape of the house and you could say not not my Fang I I

Guess well what would be an art style that would compare what is that art style called where it’s like now what is it called it’s on the tip of my tongue and I will remember it but we did you see some odd shapes and stuff like that

People look at that and they’re like oh that’s ugly other people can look at it and cry because it touches them so emotionally you know there’s a lot a lot of just different tastes I think personally that’s how I look at it but here my style is more it’s more on the

Busy side it suits me better but I think I think that that doesn’t appeal to people as much I would even consider my style to be even a little more heavy texture wise and layer wise than than green I think I think he he has a perfect balance of you know making it

Simple enough to where people can see it and say yeah I could do that I could do that what’s the guy’s name McNew de leur I think it’s McNew de leur he does like those chunk builds that I’ve talked about the past and I I look at that and

I think man it’s not to me it’s not that impressive of a build but it is it is impressive because it hits that perfect target of the majority of people see that and they think that looks nice and I could build it easily me I think I go

A little too far but you got to do what works for you you got to do what feels good for you and for me it just a little bit more busy feels good so that’s kind of the style we’re going to go with in here of course but yeah I

Thought that was interesting that really caught my eye and I just wanted to know maybe we spark up a little discussion I want to know kind of what your guys thoughts are on that stuff but anyway so I got to take these signs down I think we’ve got everything pretty much clear I

Here but I was also thinking I mean if we were going to borrow villagers from Doc they are way deep down in that dungeon down there so I do have some zombie villagers nearby not very far maybe they could be the start of our little village up here or we could just

Turn off the lights up here could just turn them out and wait lay in wait until a zombie villager pokes his head out and then try to trap them that sounds like a nightmare a pure nightmare I think we’ll work with what we have but anyway I’m

Going to get working on some more terrain stuff here a lot of off-camera stuff today lots of off cameras lots of just me kind of working stuff out myself but hopefully that means lots of good progress as well so anyway I’m going to get back on that stuff let me know what

Awesome now ideally I would get some see if I have any actually I get some coarse dirt going to kind of get a little bit of dirt look in there um no gravel that’s okay I can get that eventually it’s not very hard but from a

Distance I love it I think it looks really cool if we do this theme different shapes different sizes all throughout this area I think it could be really really cool and give this place a really nice feel overall but that’s just me like I said that’s just me this is my

Taste and when it comes to art there’s not one thing that’s better than the other in my opinion I think it’s just all up to what works for you what feels good for you most people would like to have a straight line there they wouldn’t like to have this jungle mixing with
