Hello everybody it’s captain sparrow and today I will be doing my first ever build tutorial video we’re gonna be working on a medieval style mage Hut that you can see behind me now depending on which kind of style you have for your map or server this might not exactly be A mage Hut it might be like a little wizard Hut or some kind of you know just medieval style building but for my server that I’m working on I like to refer to it as a mage Hut it’s fairly simple I have the items that we’ll be using today to build This in my action bar ready to go so you can take a look at these items and once you get them all on your action bar will be ready to go so let’s go ahead and start over here you’re going to want to get smooth courts and just put three of them down In the line and then diagonally you’ll want to put the courts pillars coming out of it just two of them so you have this kind of a u-shape here next up you’re going to want to just continue down with some more smooth chords and some more pillars so you kind Of are aiming for a circular shape like this so it should go by three two diagonal and three in the line then two diagonal and so forth once you do this you’re going to go ahead and in these little gaps here in between these quartz pillars you’re going to go ahead and Fill this out with smooth chords and next up you’re going to want to raise these pillars by I think it’s six hold on let me refer back to this building as I’m going along so that way I can get a look at least one two three Four five and there’s a sixth one in there okay so three four five six and you’re going to want to do this for all of the quartz pillars okay and then once you have these done you’re going to want to go ahead and start filling out the base so the base Is what you see down here around you don’t want to keep these square whenever you’re building you don’t want to just have square plane builds you want to kind of make it look like they have a solid foundation down there so I’m going to go ahead and grab these quartz slabs And pile them up on top of each other like that and put two of those down so in this little groove right here in the middle you just put two down and on the sides you put some slabs so I’m going to do this all the way around and now for The middle part you’re going to grab another brick stairs and you’re going to go ahead and in these screws you’re gonna put one regular stair and one upside down stair just like this go go all the way around okay there we go next up you’re gonna Want to go on these parts and just fill it around aside from right here this is gonna be the doorway actually so let me go ahead and take this middle part out but for the sides and the back you’re gonna go ahead and fill these Parts out so it should look like that so you can sort of see the comparison because that’s going to be the door so for the doorway you can go ahead and put these right here instead so you just kind of leave a gap in the middle next up Going to want to grab I think this yeah this is a block but I’ll just use the slabs here and pile up some slabs and put one in the middle just like that and we’ll go around and do this there we go and again you’re probably Gonna want to leave or you can go ahead and put on two blocks down but obviously not a slab in the middle because of the doorway and before I go any further with this nether brick guess it’s like a window frame you’re going to want to go ahead and fill out These this back area so you can kind of get a frame oh you smooth quartz so you’re going to want to do it like this yeah okay and you can go ahead and throw at the top so your frame should look like this right right above the the half Slab where it’s going to be the window so we’re just going to fill it all out place them on all the wrong places okay whoopsie okay there we go and for this doorway part we’re going to do the same I think we yeah we just fill it out like this That way you have basically a solid wall aside from where your door will be so you can take a look at it from the inside this is what the frame should look like and now we can continue with the nether brick so the way I did it over here is I Went ahead and I got another brick stairs and along the window frame I placed them with the flat side of the stairs facing inward and then I put an upside-down stare right here and I went ahead and grabbed nether brick slabs and put them on the side so you kind of get this Rigid out look here yeah okay so I’m gonna go ahead and do that on all the other ones so again facing I have the flat side of the stairs facing inwards and upside down stair and the nether brick half slabs one more time side down and the half slabs so around You got that look for the doorway you are also going to do the same thing okay yeah you almost forgot what the doorway there we go alright cool so now that you have the window look I’ll go ahead I’ll leave you guys up it’s totally up to your opinion On what kind of window you want to put some people like the the fence gates some people like fences but I think the purple window frame kind of contributes to that mage look kind of a magical look I guess you can say so now I’m going to go ahead and grab The fence and what the fence does is it kind of makes it look like a support beam here so I just surround the remaining pieces of quartz with dark oak fence it’s up to you what kind of fence you would like to use some people use in other mage inspired buildings they Like to keep it with the nether brick but I think it just you know isn’t as diverse of a colorway so I like using dark oak you’re gonna leave this top row empty because that’s where we’re going to start building the roof the roofs gonna be a little bit more complicated but it Shouldn’t be too hard so I’m gonna go ahead and fill these out on all four sides there we go so now we can go ahead what’s like and build the roof now the roof that’s a little bit of a complicated pattern at first because you got to give it this Home I almost like to say it looks kind of like a witch hat you can sort of see in my other builds how it’s like a pointy roof top it’s not your standard minecraft roof top for everyday houses but it’s not too hard so what you’re going to Want to do is that first you’re gonna grab the nether brick stair and just go along as you normally would for any other roof make sure they connect right here in these corner pieces and that’s flush with all of the other stairs and just make your way around Until you got it done okay next up you’re gonna want to use another bricks just the regular old bricks and make one round around the entire building so just like this you basically just put them on top of the remaining quartz blocks okay now once you have that ring you Want to move into the next ring the next ring is just another brick another layer of brick with stairs on top so go ahead and just do this and make another round of brick whoops and then on top of them you’re just gonna place stairs There we go let me change the time today so it doesn’t get too dark on us there we go for the next row you’re gonna do the same thing it’s going to be another round of brick with stairs on top like that and then stairs whoops Then for the final piece I just put another brick right here and a dark oak fence on top to kind of give it a point so you can see how it created sort of like a pointy roof now that pretty much is it for the exterior But you can tell it looks a little bit bland in comparison so I’m going to show you what you can do to kind of spruce it up and give it a more lively feeling it’s pretty simple it’s just vines and I the new lanterns which I absolutely love In comparison you can see some of my older built builds here do not have the lanterns because I felt them before they came out but yeah these lanterns are really awesome so I’m gonna go ahead and use them so grab some vines and I’ll scroll down Here to the lanterns and I can go ahead and get rid of the fence so for the lanterns I like putting them in the little corner pieces here by the by the dark oak fence I just go around placing them on the corners there we go and for the vines something I just Noticed and I guess it’s 1.14 is you can put them side by side now before you weren’t able to do that to my knowledge I think you would have if I wanted to place them on both pillars I would have had to do this kind of a pattern because they couldn’t Overlap but um I guess they changed out with the new update which is really awesome so I’m gonna go ahead and place these vines down and oh I almost forgot the windows so I’m going to go ahead and place these purple window panes in there There we go and I will make the floor opponent I also put a vine I also put a vine in the doorway to kind of I don’t like that blank quartz look it just looks so bland so I put that there and then I’ll go ahead And take the four out and show you a little bit of what I did with the interior I’m not gonna go 100% into how to make an interior because that’s simply up to you guys but I’ll show you what I did to make my interior look a little bit Better so I used for the floor I use the stripped dark oak wood and I’m gonna need that quartz back actually okay so I’m gonna go in here and replace this dirt with the stripped dark oak I’ll show you a little tip let me get some lighting in here to use some Torches so you guys can see what I’m talking about one thing I notice with these stripped logs is you can sort of see here how it these little lines embedded in the logs give vertical so when doing it you don’t want to mix it up like this you can see They’re pointing differently I don’t think that looks good it looks I don’t know it just doesn’t look flush so I make sure that they’re all pointing in the same direction to make the floor look really nice there we go and yeah I’ll extend the the wood one more Put it I put a dark oak door and for the exterior I used quartz to make it you know kind of like a little walkway so that’s the exterior for it I’ll show you guys what I did for the interior of the other building though because one thing that you don’t want with Interiors did you come in here and look at this it’s just square and empty in comparison to the outside of the building it’s you know much different on the interior so what I did in this one I went in here and you can see how i spruced up the interior a little bit Basically what I did as a matter of fact I’ll go ahead and show you guys what I did on the other interior I’ll continue this and show you how to spruce things up let me clear my inventory and go back and figure out which items I used again I had another brick stairs I had quartz smooth quartz I had quartz tears and quartz slabs and the lanterns and lines so okay so now I went in here and in these corners I basically just you can see the pillars here I just stacked smooth quartz all the way to the top And once I got the smooth quartzite whoopsies didn’t want to do that that’s all right and I’ll just fix it real quick stop the quartz all the way to the top there and I surrounded the base with another bricks there like this there we go and Now for the top you saw I added some lanterns so what I did for that is I it’s kind of dark so it’s hard to tell but you can sort of see this row of nether brick what I did is I placed upside down stairs right here so like this All around the building yeah that’s getting dark again so it’s hard to see there we go put some lighting down so that way if you can see the ceiling it’s a little bit dark but if someone could it doesn’t look so square and at the top up here I hung Lantern so it’s a little bit easier to see the roof up there now let me take a look at the quartz stone pattern that I used kind of make it look a little less square okay so right above the window I did a row of course okay let me just go through So right above the window here I did a row of quartz slabs so you’re going to want to go one block higher than the window let’s see right there now up here all I did was I took the quartz tears and at the top corners I put them upside down like so so Sort of opposite of what I did here at the bottom with the nether brick stairs I just made them upside down and right here I added quartz slabs to connect them this is just kind of a nice touch that way when you come in it kind of looks it Like it has a form of architecture if you want to add anything else tables you could even get rid of this completely and elevate the floor so you can look out the window I wasn’t too concerned about the window in this looking out of it and Yeah so and check that out when the vine grows it’ll grow over the door which I kind of think it’s a cool look to it but yeah so that is the tutorial for how to build this medieval style mage height I hope you guys enjoyed and I’ll catch you next time Video Information
