Recently I find that old Minecraft brings out this creative freedom in me that I’ve never felt in a long time it’s spre out this childlike imagination that has been suppressed due to just simply growing up growing up isn’t a bad thing it’s just sometimes we lose the simple things along the Way this creativity simply stems from The Limited black pet and features that old Minecraft offers to us strangely having a limit allows you to be Limitless it’s like holding a palette that has the three primary colors red blue and yellow you then mix them in certain amounts to achieve the desired Result you want to paint with in Old Minecraft our primary colors are wood dirt and stone you mix these blocks to best prot portray your idea in a game where the world is our canvas these constraints Force us to think outside of the box and what we’re Comfortable with we have to come up with new ideas for our problems and sometimes our best ideas come from these constraints that are given to us for example we can’t craft an anvil in Old Minecraft so what do we do perhaps we create an iron block but that’s not Enough what if we add a lever on top of the block to imitate a hammer there you go you have yourself an anvil old Minecraft’s creative freedom also allows for another pathway for players this pathway is coming up with lore in history for your world in my world each building serves a purpose Whether it be a residential home an inn or a post office you make up stories associated with the buildings and locations around your world this adds a Charming depth and creates meaning to your long-term progress making you want to play the game more then when you have a large scale World filled with kingdoms and history you can relive The Nostalgia of each structure and location you walk past an example of a location that has meaning in my world is the Great Oak Forest originally this was an ordinary Forest that I would come to chop and gather logs I hated leaving floating Trees so I opted to cut down the short ones and just leave the tall trees replanting saplings after I was done because I spent a lot of time here I decided to build a wood cutter Shack so I wouldn’t have to walk back home to sleep eventually over the course of a Few months a majority of this forest was filled with large oak trees through my actions of cutting down the small trees and leaving the large ones the forest creates a magical feeling as you walk down the stone path with light seeping through the canopy of leaves from Rock stock in Lumberyard to Our recent addition of the seahorse adventurers Guild structures are carefully placed to tell a story that’s where the beauty of old Minecraft comes in we the player can use it as a medium to tell our stories whether or not we share it is up to us what matters is That they hold meaning and it becomes a place where we can connect to that childish innocence and Imagination that we lost long ago speaking of stories do you remember the old Minecraft let’s play for me the one that sticks out the most was the shadow of israfel series Produced by the Y cast it was something different for the time as it created an adventure that immersed the viewer into their let’s play I fondly remember being a middle school sitting down at the computer munching down on some hot Cheetos that I got from the school vending machine and watching an episode Of the yog cast it became sort of a ritual for me to unwind and see what was going to happen in the next episode the point that I want to make is that series like these are memorable because of the story that the Channel creates to me producing these stories Are much easier in Old Minecraft because like I said earlier the constraints allow for us to be more imaginative therefore we stick to a long-term world as we continue to add on more these days we are showered with videos of people building Mega bases within one day or completing all the Challenges in 3 minutes we rush to kill the End Dragon then build the most efficient Farms only to get burnt out and stop playing completely our worlds are left to collect dust and eventually we forget about the memories we made that’s why keeping a long-term world is so difficult because we keep Comparing ourselves to what other people do when in reality most of us will never be on that level comparison is the thief of Joy because of these videos our standards of playing Minecraft are skewed we think that what we see in these videos is what we ought to strive for to be Successful sure we can have everything from full netherite gear to All The Mending books we could ever dream of but yet we feel so empty I encourage you to play Old Minecraft as I believe it’s the key to enjoying this game again sometimes you must take a step Back in order to move forward the Simplicity of this game allows for the player to explore their latent creativity and it houses the potential for a long-term World filled with interesting lore in history you don’t feel like you’re rushing to the end game because there is No end game heck I haven’t even gone to the nether yet after almost a whole year of playing on this world I don’t feel the need to go there to progress what is offered to me NE will not fundamentally change the game it’s just a nice Bonus all in all this has got to be the longest I played a world for in the past decade and will still continue to add new things to it if you haven’t checked out my Beta let’s play series I highly suggest that you do as I create new structures and stories associated with The world heavily inspired by the Golden Age of Minecraft content if you’re bored of modern Minecraft maybe this can serve as the moment you travel back in time and enjoy what the game truly has to Offer Video
