Hello everyone and welcome back to another minecraft tutorial in this video I’ll be showing you how to make custom crafting recipes for your game this is for the Java edition of the game minecraft 1.13 and up and it will require you to be able to access files On your computer and the visit a website beyond that it shouldn’t be very difficult at all in fact it’s gonna be a very easy process because we’re not even gonna have to look at any code or anything like that we’re gonna use a generator in order to make custom Crafting recipes so if ever you wanted to make your game easier you’ll bail be able to take control and add some things like that dirt to diamonds I know it’s super teeny but it’s what I’ve always wanted to do and look at that I got an Advancement as well now you can do other cool stuff as well you can get a little bit creative and make some fairer ones like this for example a little bit of nether AK Sinton still in a shapeless recipe right here could make you a lava Bucket but it’s all up to you what type of recipes you want to add in this video I’m just going to show you how you go about making them fortunately that process is going to be a rather easy thanks to this fantastic website the URLs on the screen you can find a link To it in the description box down below well you’ll also find a link to the creator’s Twitter account if you want to follow them there you’ll get notified of when updates to this website occur so when you visited the website it’s actually really easy to use this some Basic instructions at the top there is your crafting table and then you have your ingredients over here this is gonna be a drag-and-drop interface you drag the things where you want them to go you can even use a search to make it easier to find what you’re after then you have A few options over here of which output recipe and group you’re probably going to want to ignore as well and then you have the code down the bottom here the JSON file you can look at how the coding works but the real cool thing is all you Need to do is download the file or copy the text that you see here in order to get it on your computer and then get it into your game so let’s start off with making a recipe for a shoka Shell this thing right here so we’ll drag that into The output and then let’s say we’ll make it so it costs a chest and some pop course we can just search and drag and drop this stuff right and let’s say that right there is what we wanted our recipe to be now if we take this option right here Exactly we’re placed it means that we couldn’t make this if we were to move it up to the top right the one that we choose when we download our file here is the way that it’s gonna have to be placed if we pick that right there so That’s an option for you to consider when making these if it takes up the whole grid then it doesn’t really matter but that might be important let’s say you want the same recipe in a different position to make a different item that would be possible by clicking on this One so now you know what that does let’s look at the one next to it which is shapeless so if I click on that it means that we don’t actually have to put this in a particular shape those free items just need to be in the crafting grid That means they could be placed like this or like that and wherever they are those free items with this shapeless option will make that crafting recipe right there so that’s basically it really there is another option here as well if you right-click on this you can Click on set count so you can make it so that that one recipe would actually give you two shells which is pretty cool and when you do things like that you can see it changed down here in the code so if ever you wanted to figure out how the Code works you can pay attention to what changes down here when you click on different options right I mean that changed a lot of stuff that one not so much and yeah anyway output recipe if you leave it on also it’ll always be called crafting recipe Jason and then you can Rename it when it’s on your computer then you’ve got all of these options right here these are crafting recipes that are already in the game and when you click on that it gives it the same name so that gives you an option to override original crafting recipes by Giving it the same name so if you put your pack into the game with a higher priority than vanilla then you can override those recipes so that’s there it’s sort of useful if you want to do that I’m not actually sure what group here does but anyway once you’ve made Your recipe which is this right here we’re gonna make it a shapeless one so we can experiment with that in the game a little bit you click on this and then you simply save it to your computer now make sure you know where it’s saving it because we’re going to need to rename This file and move it to a different place on your computer the next step is to navigate to your world that you want to these crafting recipes – on your computer so go into single-player select the welds and then click on edit down the bottom here and then click on open Folder that is going to open up the folder on your computer for you to look at you can see all the files for the welds that you’re playing on right there and the folder that we’re interested in is data packs inside of here we’re gonna find another folder now if there isn’t One already there that’s because you don’t have a data pack here if you’ve already installed a data pack you might see one there but what you want to do is create a new one and you want to give it a name like this something that’s all lower cases use an Underscore and numbers between zero to nine if you use other characters like a star or a slash you’re probably going to run into problems so keep it simple lower case under schools and numbers and then if we go inside of that folder which you will be creating you will find That there is yet another folder this one has to be cool data the one before it you can give a name cuz that’s the name of your data pack and you’ll also see this file inside of there called pack dot MC meta now i’ve already opened That file up let’s put it on the screen this is what the contents of it look like we’ve got the name of the pack right there and if this looks a little bit too confusing for you don’t worry about it what I’m going to do is put This file in the description box down below so you can download it to your computer and this is the place where you need to put it so once that’s there we’re gonna go into the data folder and then we have what’s called a namespace folder you can give this a name whatever You like and once again stick to lower case letters under schools and numbers between 0 and 9 so I called mine custom recipes and inside of there we’re gonna find five different folders advancements functions loot tables recipes and structures these are all other things that you can change with a data pack and The only one we’re interested in is recipes and if you’re creating your own you’ll need to create a folder in this one called recipes so create that right here and then open it and you’ll see this is where the diamond recipe and the lava bucket I showed you in the intro Are stored now the one that we just created a moment ago from the website is this one right here so what I recommend doing is changing that to show cur underscore shell or whatever name is relevant to the recipe that you’ve created so that’s the file we created together A moment ago and I downloaded it and I put it inside of this folder so once you’ve done all of those steps what we’re going to do now is go back into our Minecraft world so if you logged out of the world entirely and logged back in You won’t need to do this but if you just pause the game and you’ve gone and edited some of those files or added new recipes you can come in here and you can type slash reload and that’s gonna reload all of the advancement packs and stuff like that now by default it likes To enable data packs that are already in there but let’s say that it hasn’t done that all you want to do is go into here you want to enable and then you want to select the one that isn’t enabled which is the one we’ve just created and by Doing so it’s now enabled that data pack and it means that those crafting recipes are available to us now if you’re unable to use commands in game what you can do is you can go to open tool and you can set this to creative and allow cheats on And then start a LAN world and that will allow you to use those commands in chat just in case those are not working for you so if we go into here remember this was a shapeless recipe that we decided on and that means that we can put these Things in any order but apparently that’s not working and I don’t know why I believe I just found a bug with the website it’s actually named this thing the wrong way around it was popped course fruit in the file so I enabled the tooltips just to verify And I believe now except I didn’t run the reload command let’s do that quickly BAM now it should work right there we go so I fixed it I’ll be sure to report that to the creator of the website but look at that it’s a shapeless recipe Meaning you can put these in any spot you can’t stack them together though that’s kind of cool but that will now give you a couple of chakra shells there are two other things I’d like to explain before we wrap up this video one is that this doesn’t support MBT data so you Can’t create a recipe like this yet because this requires additional tax and likewise you can’t have an MBT data item in here as part of a recipe it’s just going to ignore that stuff and hopefully that site that’ll be supported in the future now the second thing to mention Is that this stuff is currently subject to change although the system seems pretty sturdy it is possible that some here could change and break but because we’re using the generator I’m hoping the generator will keep up with it but if it so happens that you are completely Unable to get this to work then maybe something else has changed check the description box down below to see if there’s any information on that which I’ll update in the future if ever something here changes and breaks all of this anyway and that is it from me of This video if you have enjoyed it leave a like as always thank you for the support and be sure to check out the tutorials playlist to learn more about what you can do in Minecraft but anyway that’s it for me thank you for watching And I’ll see you in the next one bye bye Video Information
