What’s up gamers, welcome back to another episode of macros minecraft mayhem episode 419! That’s right. We’ve been playing Minecraft for 419 episodes straight, but this time around I got a little bit of a twist. We’re not gonna be playing Minecraft. We’re gonna be playing Minecraft Dungeons. That’s right. Check it out! Wow minecraft really decided to change up their style. (Shows gameplay of Diablo) I didn’t think they would go with this approach. This is crazy. I’m so glad the villagers can talk in this game. I was tired of the villagers just going HMM. You know.. Whoa, what a twist. That’s crazy. Okay gamers! We’ve been playing this game for about 6 hours straight and I think we’re about to beat the boss. So I’m super ready! Are you guys pumped? Yeah, I’m playing Minecraft dungeons It’s what? Diablo? I’m about to beat the boss You couldn’t tell me that like four hours ago dude? You know what? I’m just gonna keep pretending It’s Minecraft. Let’s beat Minecraft Dungeons! Minecraft dungeons is essentially Diablo but in the Minecraft world, ok, that description probably doesn’t help a lot of you! So… Essentially this game is a Dungeon Crawler Where the creepy crawlers that want to kill you are the mobs you’d normally see when playing Minecraft. You got zombies, Pillagers, Spiders, Skeletons and of course creepers… Aw Man! Among other enemies like wizards and golems. The Enderman is even in this game! Although he’s not as scary as he was in Minecraft WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA He’s still a little spooky though… I am immune! The game has a main story all about the Illager, a small boy who was corrupted by a cube. That’s basically it… and he and his gang of no gooders have been terrorizing the villages all over the world! So it’s your job to get in there and stop him! You can do this by saving villagers, killing bad guys and just being overall pretty dope! Although some objectives do seem kind of strange. Wait what? Dude, it’s the objective But I don’t understand but how does this help? It just seems so rude! After a brief tutorial level. you go on to a bunch of different locations from caves to pumpkin patches To a castle and along the way you can level up find new gear and new artifacts and try new ways to approach the next Level or even go back to an older level but with a higher difficulty. What sets this game apart from other dungeon crawlers and makes it more minecrafty is that these dungeons are procedurally generated. Meaning they will be brand new each time, which is really cool. I’ll be it not that noticeable, but cool Nonetheless, you can even play with friends But seriously grab a buddy or two and you can hack and slash through enemies a lot easier. Or you can just get carried by Your overleveled friend So as basic as this game is… Its bare-bones simplistic approach to customization makes this game actually so much fun for me! There’s a bunch of different weapons to choose from like: Swords, hammers, pickaxes that you can swing from side to side (sings revenge by captain sparklez_ Side side to side. My personal favorite being sickle, cuz then you can go full sickle mode You also get a ranged weapon, which is your trusty bow and arrow which can be a crossbow or a longbow or this triple take (from Apex Legends, but you already knew that right?) And of course, you can pick your own armor. Not all the armor is great… I could be a furry. I’m gonna do it I’ll be the furry This is my first sona I am the wolf be afraid be afraid of my persona But they do each have their own special attributes to them. Your weapon bow and armor can all be Enchanted with cool or kind of stupid perks. You can have armor that creates fire behind you or arrows that turn enemies against each other. Or sword that farts! Either way, it’s always your choice how you enchant and it’s awesome You gained a point towards your enchantments every time you level up So once you equip a new enchantment that point is gone forever! Just kidding… You can just salvage the item and get all the points back and just simply reuse them on another item Plus you get emeralds (macro hits puberty again) Like any decent adventure game. You have a hub world. In this game It’s a camp that you can spend your hard-earned emeralds to trade with to get random weapons armors and artifacts Macro, what’s an artifact?! Artifacts are like these perks that you can equip What makes them cool is that they’re on a cool-down so you can use them whenever they’re ready They can be as simple as a health regenerator filled or a Kamehameha… There are so many to choose from you might never even see one in your first playthrough I got a totem of shielding and this totem radiates powerful energy at risk for there’s a protective shield around those near it What I never got that? that’s sick. I’m gonna equip that for now Here (teammate name), here is a shield! So that’s minecraft dungeons in a nutshell go in smack some fools around, save the day and get upgrades along the way. It’s a simple fun time, but is it worth your time? Well, let me discuss the pros and cons of this game. Like I mentioned before the game is extremely simple it can get difficult but there’s always a way to end up winning But you’ll fall off a couple times. It’s inevitable. Okay, I can’t jump huh? Oh wait, I can actually Okay. I find if I remember correctly if I look this direction Yeah, I’m down to the next whoa The enchantment system really allows for individuality because players can choose their kit according to their play style You can be a healer or you can be an aggressive warrior or you can be a tactical Archer I for one love the soul mechanic where you basically gather up Souls from all the enemies you defeat and have built my character Around that with soul arrows and a big stole explosion The game is endless and is possibilities. Minecraft dungeons is a bit linear But does have a lot of different side places that you can explore to find extra goodies I’m always a fan of extra goodies. Look a chest! My luck is insane. We got like four whole coins. Aw. Geez The Minecraft aesthetic is gorgeous. I love how simple it looks but it somehow always looks really good Twenty dollars isn’t that much but this game feels very very short. Like I beat it in a day I understand that you can retry it on a harder difficulty and the dungeons will be slightly different each time But as a whole it leaves me feeling unsatisfied I’m not the biggest fan of the controls and at least you can change key binds But for some reason you can’t unbind the speech commands. I found this in particular quite frustrating. As hard as the bosses and enemies can be they also are BOTS and they can easily be cheesed in this block world Well, this is actually kind of easy now that I realize… Yeah, you’re just gonna use all your arrows like this fire going here It’s supposed to be a bit of a threat, but he won’t even move past this block I’m not saying it’s the best play to just sit in the corner and wait for firework arrows, but it ain’t broke… While I like the relaxing mindless fun of smacking creepers and skeletons around. The lack of any real depth an overall short story isn’t enough for me to recommend it to all of you. You may get A lot more fun just messing around in Minecraft. So I’m going to be giving this game a 7 out of 10 It’s not bad, but it’s not particularly amazing at anything it does. If you like simple fun this may be for you otherwise you can live without it. But, What do you think? Did you buy this game? And if you did did you love it? Did you hate it? What would you rate it? And if you didn’t like it, what would you suggest to add to this game to improve it? Let me know in the comments down below. Okay, guys, I gotta go shoot the next episode of Macro’s Minecraft Mayhem.
