Hello and welcome my name is mr insane and today i’m going to show you how to make really big elevators i made a video about this and afterwards i found out that i’m pretty sure this is the biggest elevator uh out there that actually is able to stop At the top without using any blocks to stop it and then waits for it and a redstone signal i’ve also found out i can actually make it even bigger than the one i showed off so i’m going to walk you through that explaining how all the systems work um But start off with the basics of it so yeah i hope i hope you can follow along alright so first of all i’m going to start with the engine this is what powers everything and if you don’t know what how flying machines work yet basically whenever an observer gets pushed the um The back of it sends the redstone signal you can see it’s flashing up which because uh um slime blocks and honey blocks take any everything with it that’s it connected to except for certain blocks like obsidian and when they gets pushed you can put a sticky piston on top of it And if you push it it pulls whatever it takes it then if you do the same on the top and then give it a signal it starts moving in that direction continuously and the reversible which makes it great for elevators and such and there’s a lot of people that already Did this but i’ve made a design that makes it bigger is synchronous and you can actually start and stop wherever you want it so my design is like this which looks like this it has two extra pistons at the bottom and it uses quality connectivity at the top Needing one less block it also uses this one to power both these two and through classic connectivity and this one so you only need one observer making the amount of slime blocks and everything you need as little as possible all right so how to build them First of all you have to two pistons at the bottom then a triangle of slime blocks another piston on top of that and an observer that looks outwards like that i also placed that wrong but that’s fine uh a honey block um i use the honey block because they’re easier to To use and you kind of need to have slime blocks here otherwise because slime blocks actually transmit uh redstone signals where honey blocks don’t so in order for this one to work with all three of them this has to be slime and you can use either slime or honey here And then if you place that there this one connects uh triggers this one and then if you give it a signal it starts moving so that’s the engine this is going to power everything and instead of using as you can see this one uses a block of obsidian to stop it still at The bottom and top and my design still uses the bottom one but the top one is going to be changed into a red signal and that looks like this this one is going to power this piston starting to push it upwards and that’s going to make it go up like so Then eventually it gets to a point where this red signal keeps this piston up which stops the entire mechanic and then once it gets turned off this is an 8 tick pulse which turns it off for 8 ticks which is enough to make it go back down So that’s the basics of it now we’re going to add things to it to actually move the rest to actually push things out we have the arms which look like this i’ll build them over here which is 3 out onto the side five out and then Two up and then over there you have a observer with a piston on top and on the other side you have four out of four up and then on each side of it you have an observer with a piston on top again like so um there’s going to be two Obsidian blocks that stop the entire mechanic over here but if you start it um You can see that it goes all the way up as normal as before but now because of this is in the way by turning it off it doesn’t actually do anything and this guy needs an update quickly basically how i made this mechanic work is you send a redstone signal to these Two pistons to push the arms down and then you are able to send it back down there you go after that you add the parts that actually push the platform which look like this five up on the first one and four up on these two and then for the ones that are closest To the engine you put them um this way and the furthest one goes sideways put sticky pistons on top of that and that’s gonna push the entire system now the thing is like before um upwards the arms had to be pushed down first for this one you need a redstone signal at The bottom that first pushes those up like so before the rest can pull it otherwise the engine i can show you otherwise the engine is just gonna move on its own because it can’t push that and let’s pull it back down so if you actually push those up first Then it takes the entire thing with you and again like next time um it can’t push this thing down and also this one is now further up so to get around that you first push this down push this up to pull that back down and then push this back down so that This guy can push it back down and the entire mechanism worked like that uh the problem with that is if you for example have a platform here and that is all the way across um also it is very important to have these obsidian blocks here one block above this And in this specific pattern two blocks between the uh arms that push the platform and to out here and two out there that exactly that make it so that the engine and everything fits exactly between everything because there’s gaps in between uh all the slime blocks basically if you have the platform here And let’s first activate this and then push this push the entire thing up the only problem is that when you do that if you do the same thing again the problem is that the platform stays and at first i thought that i first had to push the entire thing back down then Cycle around again and then once it gets back up it actually pulls this down and then when you do it it takes it with you with it and you can then send it back down but that’s a bit convoluted and accidentally i found a way a a specific timing set that makes it Work no matter what it actually pulls it down as you can see everything is one block between here and there so this is what how it looks when it gets pushed up and then if you get the timing just right it actually takes it with it and you Don’t have to go cycle through going all the way down and up again and that actually makes this all work one thing to also note which is very important is that this line is honey blocks here because there is a towel of slime blocks above it similarly this one is only blocks With slime above it and this one is honey over here so this one becomes slime now this is a 9×4 square these are tileable and they’re mirror barrel in the other direction so if you want to have this same system mirrored on this side this has to be honey blocks because Honey blocks don’t stick to slime blocks and slime blocks don’t stick to honey blocks and you can only have 12 blocks and if you put blocks on top of this that’s exactly 12. so for the mirrored version these lags the ones that push the platform have to Be the opposite color so this one is going to be honey this one is going to be slime and this one is going to be slime basically if that makes sense all right i’m now going to show you how to build the timer because that’s the thing that makes everything work without it It’s as you can see here you have to cycle back and forth but this timer is very specific to make it actually work um the way it’s intended and you don’t have to cycle back and forth which is nice all right all right so for the timer um The bottom section is basically just redstone uh right underneath all of the observers on the arm linked up to an observer linked up to the signal that for the lever that actually triggers the ascension now the bottom part um so the arms they are two ticks slower than the actual Engine because this observer triggers this piston which makes the engine go up um so basically you have two repeaters or one repeater on two which is also okay because observers can deal with two ticks but not three ticks now for the d sanction which is the hardest part Basically your slime blocks for the platform stop here so the blocks on top of the slime block stop just one above it um figure out how high you want it’s to go and basically with a space of five from where you want the slime blocks to stop that is where your stop signal Starts which basically looks like this and then two spaces beneath it is the reset trigger which i’m gonna set up in a second oh this is all the wrong way there we go and a redstone dust this one has two ticks this one is one tick and this is basically the signal that Says stop which holds that piston as you saw um and this one is to reset it and actually makes it go down without having to cycle back and forth then this is the reset signal which just cycles a bunch uh and it’s basically just two observers facing the wall Which is a space of two below the other one with two redstone dust here now this is a signal you can actually just like queue up because this uh design is meant to be tileable so i have multiple of the same setup next to each other you can just Send this signal to all of them at the same time so that they’re all synced up basically i’m going to start with the reset signal which is basically it kind of looks like a gear shift or what you see on a gear shift and then a redstone on all of it and observers Facing upwards so let me first do this five observers right above it in this setup and then you’re going to connect it with blocks of your choosing now on each of these there’s going to be a repeater like so and all of them have to be on Four ticks wait rest on the corners obviously then in observer facing into it so that it basically just pulls us four ticks around this is going to send a a lot of pulses to basically reset the arms i think it’s 10 but i’m not quite sure anymore um This then goes to the startup trigger um which looks a bit like this and this one this way and then some redstone here which cycles that around as you can see now the all the pulses happen and that’s what we want an observer behind that piston And basically what this does is if you send the signal it pushes this out does all of its things and then eventually it comes back which right now it doesn’t but once we set this up it comes back and then tells this guy to go back down which uh let me quickly Send this pulse it does its pulses and then this one goes back this one closes out and doesn’t send another signal so that’s basically an on off switch Which is good then on top of this right on the edge where it goes around you put two observers facing upwards with a block here with another one of those observers and redstone on here this actually creates the um pulse that makes this um do a funky thing So that it actually does that’s the part that makes it not have to go a cycle back and forth so that is one of the most important parts of the entire build and that is actually that makes it work which looks like this and then a sticky piston here With a block of redstone which is connected to this and that’s the signal that you push out to all of them which is continuously on so that this one actually stops that’s the important part now you also move this over here and put an observer here which links back to that So basically this sends out of pulse over here it swaps this that redstone is not supposed to be there that stops this pulls this in then a few ticks later it pulls it back out and that makes it go funky which actually makes it work and then eventually it ends here and that Makes the last pulse which is a little bit longer and that actually stops it okay i hope i think i got everything now let’s see if it works i i i think i did everything right but always double check so it stops on this block there you go And then when i trigger this it resets grabs that and starts going back down there we go and then you can cycle it again i hope that makes sense um i hope i hope i explained it nicely enough now when i started setting things up i figured Hey i kind of built a bigger one so i did and this one is actually 12 wide it takes a bit more redstone uh sorry not redstone the timer and redstone are actually exactly the same except for the bottom one has a different design for the redstone here because the Observers are in different places um but this one can actually go up to 12 wide so that means you can make it 24 by 20 well 24 by whatever size you want because you this is infinitely tileable um in one direction the other one 24 is The maximum as far as i can tell so um let me show you how how to build that one all right so for the bigger design the engine is the exact same and the timers are the exact same the only thing to note is that instead of having five blocks between where the Uh slime blocks stop there’s only four blocks but a space between it you make it like this basically have three outs and then a little corner like this with an observer facing downwards to grab this redstone signal then sticky pistons on each side and next to that you have honey blocks this way And make sure that this is slime blocks because otherwise the redstone signal doesn’t transfer to all of these but yes honey blocks three blocks out then four blocks out and then one down this time with observers on the bottom one with sticky pistons on it then on this one there’s five blocks upwards Like this uh this one has five blocks upwards like so then this one has a weird little corner like this which is five blocks out and then matches the height and then this one is a weird weird bendy bit as well with five blocks out and then this one is three blocks out And then matches the same height as well the observers on these ones are going to be on the out as far as way as possible with the blocks on top and then this one has an observer on each side working for these setups and this one Is a little bit different i think i’m i did that wrong yeah i did uh this one is actually has another kink in it let me double check yeah and then they have the observers down here i’m sorry i have the observers down here with the sticky pistons and the observers Here the reason why that kink is important because if you make a title otherwise the obsidian on top can be placed anywhere and you kind of have a mess of a system and things might stick to each other so you have to set it up like this that’s why i remember that i I got it wrong now the obsidian is going to be up here no up here and there’s going to be one here and one here and then the other ones are gonna be out here and out here to rest the platform up and then the last two Are gonna be here and that’s what you build your platform out like so now again the thing to note is that this one has to be if you mirror it because this platform has to be honey blocks use flip these uh and up the top bits around so These ones are going to be slime that one those ones are going to be honey and this one is going to be slime again to make sure that they don’t stick to the platform and actually everything actually works and to show this one off it works the exact same as the other one Uh but like i said there’s only four blocks of space in between it this time and you might like that so um yeah and then to go down is the exact same where it cycles through it does that little weird thing makes everything work and then brings it all back down So yeah with this you can make a 24 wide and then the other size is as far as you want it basically now i do think there is an option to make this able to stop at the multiple platforms i haven’t built that yet i haven’t tried It yet but i’m pretty sure it’s possible so if you want that i can try that too or you can try that yourself which would be cool too i think there’s still the bigger designs to be made but yeah i’ll let people experiment because i think this is a new design I’m very certain that this is a design that nobody has made yet and this might lead to a lot of new things in terms of flying machines and elevators but maybe people someone has already done it and i’m just done but yeah i hope you enjoyed i hope you can make some crazy Inventions with this or crazy builds and if you do please show them to me i’d love to see it and yeah i hope you have a lovely day and thank you for watching bye Video Information
