JavaTheCraft – I Built All This JUST For a Nether Portal in Hardcore Minecraft

We’re already on episode 4 of our hardcore survival series and yet we are still wearing iron armor so in this episode we completely ignored that because I wanted a custom nether portal and this build turned out way larger than I initially anticipated so let’s get started now after the last episode I

Opted to turn these guys into butcherers instead of librarians because well I feel like that makes a little more sense Here and Now from this guy we can get infinite cooked pork chops from this guy cooked chicken so he he’s just here for decoration I then added even more to the

Lag by using a data pack that lets me use invisible item frames to put snowballs on so we can have something that looks like a very tiny plate and finally I just Enchanted respiration onto a diamond helmet because I’m tired of drowning now for our starter base the

Well and the Villager breeder I had a plan going into it AKA I pre-built it in creative mode so I knew what I was doing with the nether portal though I do have an idea but I have planned out not the one thing I do know is we are going to

Need lots of smooth Stone and I don’t think 49 is going to cut it and since we need smooth Stone we’re gonna build a slime farm now that might sound slightly confusing to some of you especially because nowadays you don’t actually have to do much digging at all to make a good

Slime farm in fact you really just build a floating platform out in the swamp biome with a bunch of brown mushrooms and thank goodness we can do that otherwise I would have to do a lot of digging right now can you imagine if I

Did have to dig all this out just for a slime farm Yeah I would sure hate to have to make one of those Farms yeah yeah I I made one of those farms and as you can see here we are getting hundreds if not thousands of slime balls per hour with how many slimes are spawning and clearly nothing is spawning right now

Because we wiped out the entire slime population they’ve gone extinct now I know with a farm like that you’re supposed to build an AFK platform up in the sky for optimal rates but I gotta be honest I can’t be bothered to do that you see I don’t need a slime farm

Whatsoever right now what I did need though was quite a bit of smooth Stone and I just figured if we were gonna dig out a huge area to try to get all this Stone I might as well make a farm out of it that seemed like the more efficient

Thing to do and if we go and check on the farm we’ll see that we have millions of slime I guess the game glitched but you know what that is passive slime income I mean who needs the stock market when you can have that farm working for you I don’t

Know about you but I would definitely put all of my money in that but now we have the stone and a ton more Stone down there and we got the dirt that’s pretty much all you need to make an island I don’t even know if I’ve told you my

Plans for this yet but basically what I’m thinking of doing is out there in the ocean I’m gonna build an island and try to there’s a trident man here when is there ever not a trident man here that’s the better question I don’t think you want this I don’t think you’re ready

For this sir I got respiration now I could do this all day I got totems you don’t scare me anymore okay okay stop stop it stop it I said stop it foreign as I was saying I want to build an island out in the ocean over there kind

Of like a u-shaper kind of a c shape the same letter just turned a different way and then I’m gonna build a circular nether portal in the center of that and if someone were to force me to name what I would call that island with the portal

I might name it something like the spiral Abyss uh just something I I happen to come up with definitely not pulling inspiration from anywhere or anything like that so I’m thinking right about here kind of you can just barely see the Villager breeder from here but

Now if I want to start building you know I have to go all the way down and pillar up with dirt except no I don’t because I am smart and I bring Lily Pad then we just go under place a block and we are good so imagine for a moment that this

Is our nether portal I know I know very exciting very cool looking and now I kind of need to plan out a rough idea of where this island is gonna go which means I should probably go take reference pictures not no not reference this is I came up with this idea this is

A completely original idea so I will go take reference images from my mind and hopefully it’ll look just you know slightly better than this although that it’s gonna be hard to do this is already pretty good looking Well now that took a little bit longer than I thought it would as you probably saw I started with a basic template and then I ended up tearing that down because I felt like the scale was too small and now I feel like the scale

Might be a little too big and I do have the mod that lets me go into a free cam mode which is why I kept pausing as I was building the fly up and see how the outline was looking but yeah that’s uh it’s a pretty big island just for

Another portal and that used about 11 or 12 stacks of dirt just for the outline which means I probably don’t have nearly enough resources to build all of this also when it comes to terraforming I’m okay but I have never once attempted to build my own custom Island so not only

Is this project much larger than I initially anticipated I also have almost no idea what I’m doing part of me just wants to fill all of this in with a layer of dirt and then see what we can do but I don’t think I have enough dirt

For that you know what I think that’s exactly what I’m gonna do anyways so I guess that means another time lapse let’s hope I don’t completely run out of dirt foreign [Applause] oh oh we ran out of dirt this was an entire double chest filled with dirt I think this video is going to be a little late I’m gonna need a lot more time to work on this I could be wrong but I think that that island is going to be the

Single largest thing I have ever built in Minecraft you know shulker boxes would be pretty nice to have right about now we’ve already had a lot of time lapses so far and I don’t think I need another one of just Gathering dirt so here is what’s gonna happen I am going

To take my little chest boat go find somewhere to just dig into the ground and get a ton of dirt and I’m going to fill all of these chests with dirt unfortunately I still don’t think that’s gonna be enough for this whole project but it will at least be a good start so

I will see you in maybe a day or two days maybe even three only time shall tell foreign Foreign so it wasn’t that bad it’s only the next day and all in all collecting up all of the dirt and grass only took about two to two and a half hours which really isn’t that bad but I’ve had some time to do some thinking and I don’t know that

We really should worry about filling all of this in and if we fly up into our spectator mode here this area is all going to be raised up pretty much to about here so filling in dirt is absolutely useless and this side is all going to be raised up as well so it’s

Really just right here in the front that we need some dirt therefore I think maybe to about maybe this block that’s a good block we’ll go to there we’ll fill all of this in and then I I guess move on to the next step did I mention I

Really have no idea what that next step is that should be good although to be honest I I kind of kind of wish I did have to fill it in to some extent because then I wouldn’t have to figure out what comes next uh you know what you

I I should probably uh get get the stone here yeah the smooth Stone we should we should move that and let’s take our sweet time moving the smooth Stone over not not because I’m stalling you know building that build or anything just because it’s about the journey not the

Destination oh and while we’re here we we might as well uh check on our Farms you know empty those out even though I did that not very long ago it’s just that it’s really good to stay on top of oh hello I dropped off the first batch

Of stone but you know since we need to go and get the other Stone I figured maybe we’ll check on the slime farm as well I’m sure you’re all very curious as to how that’s going you know what I actually have more smooth Stone than I

Thought for some reason I thought it was only one double chest we kind of have two combined with what we already put over at the build how’s the farm doing we see yeah that’s not bad considering I wasn’t even in this area for quite a while because I was mining dirt

Elsewhere that’s pretty good well that is the last of the stone that I need to bring over we have the dirt we have the stone uh we wanna go check on the villagers no no I I cannot I cannot go check on the villagers we need to build

I can do this I can do this this is gonna be easy I don’t even know what I was so worried about I can do this foreign I can’t do this but I have to do this I don’t have a choice wait a minute you think I can like hire good times with

Scar to come in the world and just terraform this for me I mean for him this would be like a warm-up that would be really nice but unfortunately we’re stuck with my skills or lack thereof so I am just going to place down some more

Template blocks to try to get an idea of what I want to do it’s probably going to take me a few hours to figure this out hopefully not so I will come back to you when those are in place well I’ve definitely done something with this

Island I don’t know if it’s really a good thing but progress is kind of being made I’ve gone through and laid out where each land mass I think will roughly go and then the dirt pillars are kind of the heights that we’ll go to but it’s probably gonna change a lot now

There are two ways we can proceed with this project the first way is building up the stone walls first and then putting in the dirt because then I know where the boundaries are for the dirt but then most of the Stonewall is just going to be covered by thereby wasting

Tons of resources and time now option number two is we tackle the dirt first but without boundaries it’d be a lot more annoying to try and figure out where we want it placed so here’s what I’m thinking I was gonna try and do some of these stone walls first in spots

Where it won’t be as covered by dirt but I think I am going to attempt to do the dirt first no matter which way I do it I know I’m gonna come to regret it later that’s kind of just how these things go but once again I think it’s time to

Start a time lapse foreign the mess has become even Messier but I think you can kind of get an idea of where I’m going with this I’m gonna have to come back in later with endocyte cobbled maybe even a little stone brick with the slabs and stairs and just add

All the texture to this and then I’m also going to want to get mossed so that we can break up this grass texture and have carpets to put lighting under and there is still a lot more to go so I’m not going to worry about all the detailing with andesite and all that

Stuff that I mentioned but I think what I want to do now we’re already running out of stone that’s oh Ender gray but I want to go through and just try to get all of the basic landforms in so that means continuing the dirt all the way

Over here building all the stone walls around all of this continuing the dirt here and over there and I haven’t even considered that we still need to make this look natural what I mean by that is it’s just one block it is one block floating in the middle of the ocean I’m

Gonna have to get sand to build a beach around this and then we’re gonna I have to slope it down I don’t know if we’re gonna go all the way down to the ocean floor but at least a couple blocks down that is not for now though that is very

Much in the future and you know what’s crazy about this project I’m doing all of this just so I can build a nether portal the nether portal is gonna be the smallest thing here and honestly I am very much looking forward to building it because that’s gonna be the most fun

Thing to build on this island though yeah that is just a little bit of an update and now I need to again stop putting this off and start building this is gonna be a long one Thank you Foreign Thank you well a couple of days later we finally have the basic foundation in there’s still areas I want to touch up and change a little bit but we haven’t even done the texturing so I’m gonna have to go over all of it again anyways so in terms of how much we’ve accomplished

Here like you know it does look like a lot but there is still so much more that we need to do and I’m actually realizing that I’ve made a little bit of an error you see in a creative world I built like one little section about this big of

What I want the cliffs to look like and that was it I was happy with it and I came and started this but I built all of this kind of differently by accident you see for these walls what I want to do is just kind of dot some half slabs around

Like this eventually getting moss carpet to cover up these blocks and then you get something that looks kinda like this this again will add in the Moss and maybe even some stairs occasionally the problem is I kind of made this wall flush with the grass so the options are

Either raise all of the grass on the entire Island by one block which I do not have enough for or we have to mine out this top layer of stone across the entire thing which in some spots I feel like might make it look a little weird

Because obviously I built it with this specific height in mind though I feel like that’s the route I’m gonna take because then I can get some Stone back and I’m kind of out of it doing this is going to be the next step of the process

Though and I’m not going to Time Lapse it because I feel like that’d be pretty boring so what I’m going to do is go around doing exactly what I’ve been doing here around the entire Island and then if I’m still sane after doing that I’m also going to go in and add

Texturing Everywhere by just putting in some random slabs and maybe and decide as well I’ve seen people do this and it looks like it works so we have a lot to do but if I just spin then we can see that I did a lot more than I thought I

Was gonna do as you may be able to see I did go through and texture all of this adding in andesite and bringing out the grass a little more I don’t have Moss yet we’ll get to that later and I thought that it was gonna take I don’t

Know maybe an hour two hours three hours tops what did it actually take oh you know just just like seven eight hours no big deal and that’s not even counting the rest of the detailing that we did so let me give you the tour this this is

Where we land and I I will just I should tell you guys now everything underneath it’s definitely all filled in not Hollow whatsoever let me just quickly throw something in a chest down here uh yeah that that seems good I did completely completely filled so here is the coast

That we will be arriving to from our main island over there basically until I get in elytra we can continue on this way and you know we we have Cliffs I guess a little bit of a rock fall going on over here and that is where the portal will be but of course

There’s more to explore here if we come up over this way I just started adding in some more details like the coal ore and there’s actually no way to get up to the top layer here so allow me to just put down some scaffolding really quick

And as you can probably tell it’s pretty empty up here and this would be a really good time to use the replay mod to show this off but I’m gonna wait on that until we’re finally done with it this is a better vantage point of the portal

Area though as you can see I did put in all of this stuff and kind of made a platform for it to sit on let’s just agree to never ask what’s underneath the island okay look I’m still kind of early game so I don’t have all that many

Resources I’m allowed to skimp out on some of them I mean I still have iron armor on and now what I need to do is build custom trees I don’t know about you guys but the custom trees not something I’m good at but the whole point of this series is to try things

That I have never tried like for instance building an entire custom Island and we’ve done that now which means we need trees although to do that I need to cut down trees first and I don’t have bone meal because we spend literally all of it on that island which

Means we need to go on the hunt for some skill oh that’s a lot of creepers oh oh I know I know I’m in like a very dangerous spot but look at how nice that looks at night time Oh Hopefully 35 bones is enough to get us a decent number of trees For whatever reason I’ve been thinking of the only thing that we still need to do is build the custom trees yeah on the island for our nether portal the only thing I have to do is build custom trees how did I forget that we still have to

Build the nether portal but that’ll be fun that’ll be fine I’m looking forward to that you know what I’m not looking forward to trees but it is once again time to do some building [Applause] We have trees which means the next order of business is finally getting to build the nether portal the reason that we built this entire Island this is honestly the part I’ve been looking forward to most so let’s get right into it foreign Thank you Foreign Island and another portal are now finally done and we already have a visitor now there’s still some things I’m gonna go through and probably change or add to this especially Moss we we need Moss we need lots of moss then I can bury the Torches under Moss carpet

So we don’t have to see them I also might build a few just little satellite islands around to help this blend more into the environment but we are not doing that today because this video is already late enough and okay I know some people have built things much larger

Than this especially in Hardcore Minecraft but for me this is the single largest thing I have ever built in the game and I’ve tackled things I’ve never tried before like building an entire custom Island and of course custom trees as well I don’t know about you guys but
