Okay so today I’m gonna be remix in the song Sweden from the Minecraft soundtrack let’s go ahead and get started yeah so the first thing that I’m gonna be doing is I’m just gonna rerecord in the piano from the original song I was actually just gonna sample The original audio but I thought it’d be a whole lot easier to work with if I just recorded it myself sorry let’s go ahead and recording a few different sections of the PNR Okay there we go so I’ve just recorded in the MIDI in table 10 live I also recorded the audio out of the piano itself that might come in handy later on but I think I’m mainly gonna be working with this MIDI file that I recorded in I’ve been actually put my headphones off Because I can’t hear anything so the first thing that I’m gonna be doing is I’m going to speed up the project who go for 140 and now what I gonna do to this piano is I’m gonna add on a little bit of bounce I’m gonna give it a bit of Swing let’s just drag this into the arrangement view and I can start editing the MIDI so I’m just gonna chop it up into different sections ever get a stuff movie some stuff around the first thing is actually going to be These notes here so I want to give it a little bit of a different feel so we’re just gonna change up the grid we’re gonna put on a triplet grid just gonna grab this that’s very small we’re just gonna grab this note here we’re just Gonna put it right there so just kind of line up some of these notes I’m not actually gonna quantize them I want them to still have a little bit of a human feel put this one over here and I’m also gonna guess that we’re gonna put this One over here and I think that is pretty much gonna be it for this first section let’s go ahead and have a listen to the finished product yeah Yeah I am liking that it is definitely a whole lot faster than the original song but I really want to mix it up I don’t really want to do a children mix there’s already too many of those so now I think it’s time to move on to the next Instrument and that is gonna be the drums so for this we’re going to need whoa launchpad oh good dude get all the dust off and it is not working brilliant so here’s the drum kit which I’m going to be using for the speech it is pretty straightforward Nice so yeah anyway that is sounding good let’s go ahead and recording it drum beat too easy so now just put together this pretty basic bass sound there’s just a sine wave assault wave some erosion some distortion a multiband compressor as well as the type of EQ yeah let’s go Ahead and recording a bassline Oh yeah so next up I think it is time to bring in something which I can record in the melody with I’m thinking I could go for a marimba let’s check out these ones I actually like the hit on this one I just don’t like how long it is so let’s Just shorten it a bit and it’s sounding pretty good let’s go ahead and recording the melody Oh yeah that was easy so now I just took that exact same melody which I just recorded and I laid it up with this little lead sound here yeah I think they work pretty well together so now I think the speed is coming along pretty well I think there is only really One main thing which I have to add in and that is just gonna be some chords so for this I’m just gonna make a little sawsan so this was pretty simple I’ve just put together a few different soil waves got a little bit of detuned in There and then as usual I’ve got some erosion as well as a reverb and I’ve just put a little bit of compression on there as well so now what I’m gonna do is I’m just gonna take these chords here I’m not gonna rerecord them in because that would be impossible on the Launchpad well not really impossible but I don’t really want to waste an hour learning how to do it so just get rid of this bass line here and extend these chords out I’m liking the sound of the synthesizer I’m just not really feeling these long-held notes so what I’m actually Gonna do is I’m just gonna use these utilities here and I’m just gonna automate the volume just I’ll give it a little bit of rhythm so I’m literally just gonna draw in different patterns so this here is the pattern that I came up with I really like it it sounds a little Bit out of time and yes I didn’t actually do that on purpose I think it helps give the trick a little bit of character so this is what it is sounding like obviously I need to fix it with some mixing add-on so mixture effects and stuff like that But apart from that I think it is sounding pretty good so I was just starting to add on some extra instruments and I came up with this cool little charmed thing so I thought I just quickly show it off so basically just talked this sound here and I just added All these effects here so we’ve automated a delay a frequency shift because of EQ on there and I’ve also automated this reverb here and in the end of cells like this yeah I thought it was just cool so I put it just quickly show it off so now just gone through and I’ve added on a whole lot of different percussion sounds to layer up with the drums we’ve got some traditional percussion sounds we’ve also got the minecraft door sound and then I’ve also just put in some Foley sounds on top so anyway now that I’ve done with that this was what My finished drums are sounding like well I should have played it from the start Yeah like you know those sound I think they sound a whole lot fuller and you and you won’t know that I am done with that I think I have pretty much everything that I need for this beat as usual I’ve gone ahead and ended on the whole of the finishing touches Off-camera and yeah here’s the finished beat enjoy Oh So there we go there’s my remix of the song Sweden from the minecraft soundtrack make sure to go ahead and let me know you thought of this remix down in the comments and also let me know which soundtrack I should remix next and you anyway I think there’s gonna wrap it Up for this video so I will see all of you in the next couple days for
