Welcome back everybody as you can see i’m hanging out my newly constructed house today we’re going to be checking out discovery light for the oculus quest and the quest 2. this is found on sidequest right now for free so go ahead and check it out i will leave a link to the sidequest Page where you can download this directly to your headset and stick around because we’re going to be checking out some really cool builds that have been uploaded to the world gallery the place where you can upload and download builds to be shared with other builders this game was added to sidequests on March 23rd this year 2021 it has been updated at least three times that i know of since its release on side quest so the developer is staying active as of this point so make sure you check this out and leave some feedback the game is currently sitting at 4.6 out Of 5 stars on the reviews with 12 reviews so far not too shabby and i’m sure that will have changed before this video is out trying to gather information about this game and it’s been a little bit difficult the website hasn’t been updated in over three years but it does appear this game Had a version of it released for the pc and for the nintendo switch in japan this game was known as block builder dx There will be multiplier available sometime in the future right now it is disabled looks like you’ll be able to play with four friends seems like an interesting number maybe five total on the server or is it four total including yourself either way it’s really cool that you’ll be able to play multiplayer There’s a world gallery that you can share your world i personally think it’s really kind of cool way to start and build a decent community around the developing game there’s currently no crafting there’s no fighting yet just building like creative mode in minecraft there is a limited number of materials At the moment believe it’s around 215 but the game just looks amazing and it runs really smooth for what it is there’s not a very far viewing distance at the moment and i’m not sure how far they’ll be able to increase the viewing distance but for Now it does what it needs to do i don’t need to look miles off onto the horizon and you can’t dig very deep or build very tall but remember this is early access things will probably change once it becomes more optimized you’ll be able to dig deeper and build taller I’m guessing don’t quote me on that And as mentioned before there are over 215 building materials that you can choose from that’s quite a few to start with wood stone dirt flowers numbers letters animals some of the more interesting things you can choose from also from the wrist menu you can change if you’re going to be flying or walking Or you can use a button on your controller to quickly switch without the menu you can also control the time of day you just click on it a few times it’ll speed up skip ahead an hour or two you get the atmosphere looking just right Also you have this kind of third person view i don’t really know how to use this property right now but i can’t get it to do what i want it wants to move independently from me but it drags me along yeah we’ll see i’ll keep messing with this and there’s some animals Fox rabbits goats sheeps nothing that will attack or hurt you the dev states that he’s currently focusing on the creative mode in multiplayer but he definitely plans on adding a survival and adventure mode of some type i mean what kind of game would this be without hunting forging defending your Land from lurking evils i don’t think this game will ever replace minecraft i don’t think that’s what the developer is going for but in the meantime while we’re all waiting for minecraft to make its way to the quest this could be a fun alternative for you if you enjoy creative buildings similar To minecraft i’m not very creative in the limited building i did the house the ruins the dock and this piece of amazing modern art are about the limit of what i’m capable of i know some of you are far more creative than i am so like i said if you enjoy building In minecraft this is something you should definitely look into i’ll leave you with some video of other worlds found on the world gallery section in the game You Video Information
