Minecraft 1.17: CRAZY Height Boost & Mind-Blowing Caves!

Do do do Hello hi hello welcome welcome to probably the coolest snapshot we have been given so far how was it by doing well it was that time of the week again welcome backs peeps welcome back i got some really cool things to share with you today like for reals though today is like

Something we kind of been waiting for for quite some time today we have the first caves and cliffs generation changes including a new height limit which i think is also gonna possibly change again so make sure you guys drop a like if you enjoy the weekly snapshots

Streams just drop a like i really appreciate it okay let’s not waste any time with this i wanna i wanna get into this and i wanna share with you guys the official changelog it is down below in case you guys are interested for yourself okay let’s get this up

So it says minecraft snapshot 21w06a a minecraft java snapshot hello new snapshot hello new cave generation today’s snapshot introduces a major change to how caves are generated within minecraft you could say that we’re now introducing the caves part of the caves and cliffs so as of today going forward dudes we’re

Gonna get so many awesome things it says this is only the first step in our underground adventure so please note that the snapshots chose features in early development that are and that there are two notable uh caveats caveats within this snapshot you’ll be unable to open worlds in this snapshot

Sorry that’s a that’s a lie you’ll be unable to open old worlds in this snapshot as there is currently no upgrade path towards the new world height so anyone who wants to check out this in your old worlds not possible and i will show you guys what it displays

It says here all caves of the new type between y-31 and 63 will be flooded with water that’s a big change it says new features in 21w06a added noise caves and aquifers it says noise caves and aquifers noise caves are the new way of generating caves providing more natural variety they can get

Really huge sometimes noise caves come in two flavors cheese caves like the holes in swiss cheese these often form caverns of various sizes and let me tell you these caves are huge they are absolutely huge and we have spaghetti caves long squiggly tunnels sometimes wide like tagliatelle it says no they aren’t loud

The noise part of noise caves is technical term and has nothing to do with sounds the old cave cava cavers and canyons still generate combining so the old cave generation system works with the new system so the old caves haven’t gone they’re still there so you’re gonna have separate forms of cave generation

As with uh carvers when noise caves intersect the surface they form cave entrances an aquifer is an area with local water level independent of sea level aquifers are used during world generation to generate bodies of water inside noise caves this sometimes results in large underground lakes

So really really good this as well for now aquifers are only used below y31 this means all noise case between y31 and sea level being y63 will be flooded with water and noise cave entrances okay you guys can read that for yourself so let’s go through the notable changes it says overworld

Build and generation height limit has been expanded the new height limit as will be doing this snapshot is 320 but again there is there’s rumors that it’s going to increase again uh mine shafts adapted to larger caves and mine shafts look a lot cleaner and there was a big question

Is if they were gonna change or not and i can confirm they are gonna change you no longer and you can no longer crouch or jump to prevent a big drip leaf from tilting a big drip leaf will now tilt rather than break when hit by a project projectile

A redstone power big drip leaf will not tilt except when hit by a projectile the textures for hanging roots and small drip leaves have been updated so there is tons of changes to world generation generation range and build limits have been expanded by 64 blocks um it says up and 64 blocks down

By a total range of 384 blocks underground features structures and cave generations all the way down to why 64. mine shaft changes mine shafts pieces don’t generate if they uh if they would be fully floating in the air mine shafts corridors are supported by log pillars when needed so

You guys can read the change log down below let me just show you guys a comparison we have this tweet coming from hendrick he said we added noise caves changed world height and added aquifers local water levels summarized in the pic note that the underground biomes

Don’t generate quite yet try it give us feedback so the biomes don’t generate just yet and also it says and yes all this stuff is eventually coming to bedrock so stay tuned so here’s the comparison of old to new this is what it looks like so obviously this being

Normal bedrock it’s now minus minus uh 64 is where the bottom layer of bedrock will be and it also says here max build height limit is now 320 but i believe that could also change so this is what your minecraft worlds are going to look like in the next

Major update um it says here old caves still generate so you’re still going to get like the the underground ravines um these are old caves it says aquifers local water levels so you’re going to have a lot of underwater caves as well this is what it will look like yeah yeah

It says here underground biomes gen don’t generate yet it’s on the to-do list underground lava doesn’t generate properly yet it’s on the to-do list or placement below why zero is temporary it’s on the to-do list all noise caves between y-31 61 are filled with water for now it’s on

The to-do list so this is the first changes man it feels so good uh there is uh i see a question there what about ores as diamonds there is no uh or placement yet they’re still there but there’s no official all placement yeah ali gaming i thought 520 was gonna be

Berries or anything like that no no texture changes by the looks of things okay anyway height limit let’s do this we’re going up boys and girls it’s 3 20. we’re going up to 3 20. keep an eye here can’t block us all okay so 256 would be the normal build limit

You start seeing bedrock not the case anymore so again keep an eye on here for the coordinates i would say about now you would start seeing bedrock as you guys can see we now start going into the negatives this goes straight down to uh negative 64. why does it even need to go

That high because they they’re increasing caves so i imagine it oh i it’s going that high zero because um mountains they’re doing mountains aren’t they we haven’t had the generation for the mountains yet but this now goes down to a y level 64. so i think there you go so let’s have a

Quick look at this yeah so uh um -59 you’re gonna start seeing your first bedrock and then this next one is gonna open this so that is your new uh lowest point in minecraft dude that is absolutely insane bro there they haven’t um yeah yeah so there’s now negative on the uh x

Y the y coordinate so that’s the first notable huge change huge absolutely huge change i bet yeah towards why 64 is going to be the deep dark it would make sense it would make sense we’re not going to use night vision potions but i’ll use a night vision effect

I already found some some insane caves what level we got right what level are we at right now this is negative one so i imagine there’s better places than this dude for sure there’s definitely better places than this you look at this one there’s diamonds so in terms of diamond

Generation because i know you guys keep asking at the moment diamonds can spawn what’s this negative 42 is where diamonds are at right now in this one obviously that’s gonna change again guys i don’t want to tell you where diamonds are going to spawn because they are going to change

Let’s keep checking out the cabins of this dude because we’re going to find better caves than that that’s they’re not the best at all there’s way better caves here you go dude check out this so i’ve seen uh tons of caves like this one man these these are the caves you want so

Like forget your standard caves man this goes from let’s see what the ceiling of this one is so you have a you have a cave generation from negative six all the way down to negative forty two forty three this is insane bro it’s so good easy diamonds they’re not gonna be where

They spawn they’re gonna change that but it kind of makes sense guys as to why we have uh glowberries now because if if i was to guess when they start implementing the uh biomes does that have berries on them do they have berries on them we need bone meal hold on

Caves are wild man but this like starts like from over here though look at the size of this thing dude it’s huge mad madness say the least dude see the pro we’ve obviously we have a problem here and obviously problem being mobs is they’re just gonna keep spawning

So again that was probably a big task for the developers it’s gonna be so good when we have glowberries all the time though they don’t generate just yet no no no uh the biomes don’t generate just yet look at the freaking size of that dude that is huge

There’s the lichen as well but it also explains as to why this is gonna generate a lot more you know what i mean this is obviously a natural light source this thing is huge man that is absolutely insane i gotta i gotta take a screenshot of

Let’s uh i want to show you guys a mine shaft by the way they’ve changed mine shafts too uh but as they mentioned guys like your ravines see these ravines these will still uh generate like they’re not getting rid of the old cave generation they’re just adding a new one

You see how like that cave generation is further down and you’ve still got your standard spaghetti one i think they referred it as to so these are like the spaghetti ones and we was in a desert there as well bro that was already a desert there you go look at this

Uh what about the new height limit no no no nothing to the nether nothing to the end this is caves and cliffs it’s insane bro wow big fan yeah vs clan bro massive fan massive fan like uh a big fan of the changes though like i don’t know if anyone else is like

Really really impressed but i’m impressed where’s the thing in my inventory uh this is lichen so this is uh this is and then this is glowberries so glowberries do what they say in the tin and and they glow have they fixed the axolotl we’ll check that out today go

Check them out don’t worry they’re glowberries so they’re gonna obviously be in the the lush caves so imagine this but with all lush caves because don’t forget guys we’ve got uh a whole range of new blocks that i’ve already forgotten then we’ve got drip leaves as well

And obviously like this is what it’s gonna be drip stone blocks that’s what i was talking about you’re going to have the drip stone caves you’re going to have the these i mean so imagine them all like uh imagine them all floating around i found a stronghold at y

37 okay wait wait i found a stronghold at y negative 37 okay so it looks like strongholds are still crazily generating it’s dark mode there’s light mode where’s my dark mode fans at the moss blocks as well yeah yeah all right let’s keep going on because the i want to show you guys

Um a mine shaft rather than using forward slash locate though i want to try and find it naturally just so we can enjoy the oh my oh wait wait this might be the first the first water one no it’s not but dude look at that that’s sick that’s sick dude

No we haven’t found i haven’t found a spawner um i want to show you guys the aquifer so oh my god yo this is a mine shaft it’s not the one in a ravine though i need to show you guys um one in a ravine

So what level are we at now by the way we found a mine shaft at at the bottom this is negative 60 dude negative 16 we found a mine shaft yeah so uh the y level the middle one it now goes to negative 64. again you can see it here guys

Why 64. pretty it’s pretty cool i like that yeah here is here is you can kind of very very briefly see the changes here uh not perfectly though so they described so um they did a new generation when it comes to mine shafts and mine shafts will no longer just hover over um

You’ll see you’ll see these they’ll be built with um oak wood a full block of awkward too it is yeah it is yeah so full log blocks i’m trying to show you guys a better example of this though there was a mineshaft near bedrock yeah yeah that’s it

That’s not what i want to show you this is way better stuff there we go here it is here it is this is the mine shaft that i wanted to show you guys here you go so here’s how your uh your mindshafts will generate now it’s gonna be a really helpful

Just just chilling bro home by me negative 21 in the world as casual as ever using elytra that’s a good point we’ll try that we’re trying to literally as well mad dudes i’m liking the mine shaft though i’ve noticed like three or i’ve noticed like three or four different generations

When it comes to caves so far Level yeah and we’re getting to the normal levels uh you guys wanted to see the height limit again i mean i showed you but i’ll show you again Okay you’re a single well with drip stone caves we’ll try out we’ll try that out imagine an underground settlement i think my underground survival has been training for this day dude no wardens yet no so your regular minecraft height limit would have been this one 256 keep going

Caves will still generate these are your old caves you are still gonna have your normal minecraft but it looks like anything that’s below uh zero going to negative 64 is gonna be the new stuff and i had someone ask me why is the height limit 320 because we

It’s a perfect perfect spot so aquifers are classed as water level sea level so you will see these a lot which is why you discover that’s why you will see these um the so-called lakes this is like an old it’s a new cave like ravine generation looks really cool to be

Honest but i hope they don’t all generate like this exposed yeah i don’t think it was uh the local command wasn’t updated yet yeah yeah i mean it gives you a rough idea but it’s not perfect you know these are not in water which is pretty cool they’re not submerged only two piles

There i think you guys get the idea of how that’s gonna look though it’s pretty cool though it still changes the drip leaves yeah i wanna check them out but there’s no there’s no um changes to the nether no let’s see i want to see if we can find

A spawner here we go that’s actually pretty cool let’s see if we can try and find a spawner dude i haven’t found one so the lower you go the bigger the caves the warden is going to be one of the last things added but we still get the same question every single day

Every single week wednesday that’s wild copper is everywhere yeah all placement hasn’t been done yet bro they haven’t fixed all placement it’s gonna take a while that kind of stuff nearly a thousand likes guys so drop a like as well no problem red fox it’s hard to keep up

With a lot of chat but i would try diamonds don’t have an old placement yet but you can find diamonds like all over the gaff for reals dude it is everywhere see what this looks like um not like this i kind of like it it’s moody but still kind of nice vibe moody

A swamp yes moody i like seeing those changes to the mine shafts though big fan of them all right looks like we’re in a swamp guys looks like looks like biome uh like water also plays a difference as well diamonds what level is this level one

Just to put the the room into bed i’ll show you guys the net there but there’s no changes no caves don’t go up there’s no up changes yet that would be the cliff side this is the cave side right with shades dude this is a snapshot bro

I mean it’s not great but i just want to get it i just want to put the rumors to bed unless they decide i mean i’d be massively impressed if they did change them but it’s not gonna be any changes go to two dollar donation three dollar

So one yeah so they’re gonna break regardless now uh it’s i think it’s just to try and make parkour not easy i think the developers said so if you bone meal the baby ones they then become drip leaf he’s crashed my game last week though

I think we had a b snapshot last week as well i just want to place down a couple and see how the parkour would be these things it’s the same for mob so if we pull uh the axolotl it will still fall off same for a player though so there’s no um

No time anymore so you gotta be fast there’s no wait time it’s no wait time at all those one of the changes was to do with drip leaf um it also says the drip leaf changes it says a drip leaf will now tilt rather than break when hit okay so if you hit

Uh let’s get a snowball so i think last week when we checked this out also guys if you’re new here every single week we’ll live stream the uh yeah so instead of braking it just tilts last week uh it they just completely break but if you guys are new here every

Trees but like someone mentioned to me they do look like uh baby trees so i imagine if they do introduce a new tree that’s how they’re gonna look uh you can’t bowl me up for these i don’t know what these are gonna be used for let me put them in uh plant plots

Into a flower pot maybe no they don’t do anything at this moment it’s not unto them um it says textures to small drip leaf also changed as well to be honest i didn’t notice any changes with them but we’ll go and check height limit is 320. there’s some changes to this

We will check if they fix the axle hole as well yeah let’s go and check if they fix that’s a little uh locate go and see how long is it going to be until he fixed this book man get some land fast i don’t think they fixed it though

Yeah they didn’t fix it guys can confirm the axolotl copter is still a thing it never gets old though hey can’t fix a lot of bugs it is intended it is not a bug it’s not intended bro trust me i spoke to the developer who’s doing this it’s a bug

Um how many biomes is it guys how many biomes are in it four or five when they release from release i’m not sure if it’s gonna be four or five i do like the new mine shafts though again like i said something so simple as introducing just one block

The way they generate is it’s so it’s so cool so impressed those are so impressed i don’t think there’s any other setting that we could do though these are literally just your drip stone caves build another portal right at the build limit will it link you on top of the

Dudes guys i i know some of you are just tuning in now but like let me just show you okay so this is coming from henrik who is a minecraft java developer we added noise case changed world height and added aquifers local water levels summarized in the pick

Note that the underground biomes don’t generate quite yet this is your old generation height limit being 256 the bottom layer being zero it’s now been updated to negative 64. these are your new caves these are your existing caves read that right there all right in case

You can’t see it it says all placement below y zero is temporary so all placement will change noise caves are new aquifers are new old caves will change and it will stay all non-caves between y 31 and 63 were filled with water that will change it’s on the to-do list

Underground biomes don’t generate yet it’s on the to-do list underground lava doesn’t generate property yet this is all subject to change i don’t think you guys understand that this is still in development dudes everything we’re seeing is updated in real time each week so there’s one two three four at least
