NEW Minecraft 1.20.3 Snapshot! Trial Chambers & Breeze

Hello everyone and welcome to another Minecraft update video for snapshot 23w 45a for Minecraft 1.2.3 this one contains mostly changes for update 1.20.1 which is hidden behind the experimental features Tab and is subject to change as these features are still in development and most of you watching are probably excited about this

New item the trial key yes we learned about this in yesterday’s video of course moang had released an article to Hype up the trial Chambers which are in this snapshot and they also revealed the trial key and now I get to tell you what this Majestic item does trial keys do

Not currently have any functionality well that was anti-climatic I’m sure we’re going to learn soon enough what this thing does a great reason to subscribe to the channel because when we learn I’ll definitely be covering it here oh and many of you pointed this out

In my comments the head on the key is the same as the head on the spawner a very good spot I was clearly too excited to pay attention anyways this snapshot brings us the breeze and the trial chamber structure along with the trial spawner we’re going to get into all of

That in this video but first we’re going to Breeze through a handful of other changes and Minecraft news also you have way too much Shadow I feel like you should have no Shadow okay the regular monster cage now renders the outside textures through the inside layer this

Seems to be true of the icon in the menu as well and it makes the texture a little more noisy but it does kind of make sense you know it should be transparent our fantastic new copper gra block was previously damaging entities what it’s not supposed to do as you can

See it won’t damage an entity now this is of course the same behavior as a block like glass another issue with it is that mobs would naturally spawn on copper grates in darkness this has been corrected so they can’t spawn on these materials next up copper bulbs are now rendering correctly under underneath

Water for reference they previously had this rendering issue copper doors and trap doors now create copper sounds as opposed to the generic iron sounds and a big change to the Copper bulb they will no longer let light pass through them and here is an image of the bug for

Reference and next up a little bit of Minecraft news that I will keep brief before we get to the good stuff yes Minecraft have partnered up with gamer safer to create an official server list for Minecraft this is a ite you can visit that will list multiplayer Minecraft servers for both bedrock and

Your server on this list and here is what the website looks like it’s nice and clean of course there’s no ads there’s also a badge system so servers can accumulate these badges to explain what type of server they are there’s also categories that you can sort and search by and there’s lots of

Be linked down below but now we can get into it we can check out the trial Chambers and I want to do something a little different in this video we are going to come back to this area later on and take on in survival mode I want to

Have a technical look at everything first go over the various details about each of the new features and then try it all out in survival at the end of this video so we’re going to kick things off with a look at this block the trial spawner there is so much we can learn

About this block just by looking at its MBT data it can keep track of how many players it’s found nearby and it’ll actually use that when calculating the amount of simultaneous mobs that it has this me means it’s going to keep track of each mob but there’s going to be a

Hard limit to how many and that can actually increase based on how many players are nearby so it has a total amount of mobs that it will spawn eventually after some of them have been killed and this can also go up by the amount of players that are nearby but

That was just one trial spawner there’s quite a few of them that have been configured in different ways so that they can spawn different mobs and that’s actually hinted at by the blocks that it’s surrounded by so I’ve been exploring these structures and learning what mobs spawn from each of the trial

Spawners if you find one with the new tough blocks around it this one will spawn the breeze mob there is a category called melee and chiseled Sandstone next to a spawner is a husk also in this category is the Slime which will have Moss blocks next to it and then there’s

The zombie which has mossy cobblestone there’s also a small category the baby zombie is inside of this and it also has Mossy Cobble too also in the small category is the silverfish which which is represented by stone bricks and then you have the cave spider with stone and

Cobwebs podzol and mushroom the spider is also in the small category with stone and cobwebs and this is because the cave spider is poisonous so in the ranged category if you find bone blocks with podsol and mushrooms that means it’ll spawn skeletons that can shoot poison arrows regular bone blocks on their own

Are just for a regular skeleton and if you see packed ice it’s going to spawn a stray skeleton now all of these mobs spawn with 1 second of delay between each of them before they reach the simultaneous mobs cap but there is also this slow ranged category and the way

This works is that these ranged mobs will summon at a slower Pace it’s 8 seconds between each one spawns so regardless of the pace the mobs spawn at once you’ve conquered the amounts linked to the trial chamber spawner you have a 50/50% chance of either getting a trial

Key or getting some of the loot from from this chest between one and six emeralds you got some food and glowberries you can get an ender pearl or regen or a strength potion as a reward and after you’ve gotten your loot there’ll be a cool down for 30 minutes

Before it can be activated again and you only get this loot by actually defeating it the proper way this block cannot be blown up with TNT as we’re about to find out there you go it resists explosions I also have haste 2 and I’ve got an efficiency 5 netherite pick and as

You’ll see it’s going to take me a long time to break this thing and look I’ve got a video to make we’ve gotten like a couple of pixels of damage in here well I’ve given myself haste 100 and I can’t even see The pck Swinging But Here We Go

There You Go it can break now we’ve covered some of this with the MBT data but I kind of want to make it Crystal Clear if that stuff didn’t make sense to you the challenge level goes up for each new player a trial spawner will detect

And it doesn’t go back down again until it’s been completed now it’s only able to spawn its mobs if they there is a line of sight so if the range is really far it won’t be able to spawn it behind a wall where it’s out of sight of the

Spawner light levels will also be ignored which I find a little strange because the Minecraft Live trailer kind of focused on how you’d be waxing the copper bulbs to help you in the battle and these mobs that it spawns are also persistent so that means you can’t just

Go 120 blocks away and have them despawn and come back so if you leave the area and come back the mobs will still be there there are a few more details to mention as well I’m in spectator mode we’re not setting these things off if I go into creative mode this also won’t

Activate this type of spawner either and if you wish to use this yourself in creative mode well you can right click on it with a mob egg to turn it into a creeper spawner and now I noticed that these don’t actually show you what mob

It has inside of it whereas one with a mob egg does we’re going to see this in survival later on but I’m going to show you what it looks like in survival when you’re nearby because you get some Wicked particle effects and these blocks have a bunch of different states related

To how they look although the differences are minor this one for example the top changes when it’s ejecting your loot and with that I think we’ll move on to the breeze mob well you know how we do it we’re going to take a technical look at the breeze mob first

Of all and I’ve got one captured here in barrier blocks and with the help of commands we can learn about some of the technical details with this mob although to be fair there wasn’t really anything that interesting inside of all of this information although I did learn that

The breeze has 30 hit points which is 15 hearts and that means with an iron sword you can kill it with five swings or four Critical Hits and it does drop XP but honestly it’s a pathetic amount and it doesn’t drop any other type of loot it

Is not immune to fire damage and it doesn’t regenerate its health either it also looks insanely cool when it’s on fire I guess the one other thing we might want to see is the breezes hit boxes it’s kind of just a little bit Slimmer than its head and this does

Actually mean that you can strike down here where it doesn’t appear to actually have a body I think it’s obvious this thing is going to be far more interesting when we fight it in survival the breeze also has a jump attack which I captured during my survival encounter

Which you’re going to see later on in this video as it says on the website the breeze is a cunning hostile mob that it moves by leaping around the target sometimes over long distances and that it shoots a violent wind energy in the form of a wind charge towards its Target

If we switch to survival we can actually see this attack in action let’s try that again ah much better but that was its projectile attack it has uh two there you saw the projectile fly out and hit me seems like you need a block in the

Way for it to use its wind attack which does knock the player back there we go good example and another one okay let’s see if we can get that wind attack again there it is and look at what it’s doing it’s changing things so as it says here

On the website those wind bursts will be able to flip trap doors and doors that are not iron as well as fence gates buttons levers Bells get rung and swung and then candles and even a candle on a cake can get blown out too all right

Here we go yeah that’s the wrong type of attack need to get a little closer oh no there it was and it blew out the C Les now it just made a whole bunch of sounds but let’s go over them one by one we’ve got the death

Sound sound for when it’s hurt when it’s idling in the air idling on the ground inhaling jumping and Landing I’d say the sound design here is pretty good all right next up is the turn of the trial chamber itself and here on the website there are some things we obviously know the structures

Are made out of copper and tu but this is targeted for the mid game an interesting comment and also you will find these down at the Deep slate layer and thanks to the place command we can actually generate these wherever we like because we’re in our Redstone flat world

It makes it very easy to look at the structure layout when you’re underground as there’s no caves that intersect with the layout of this structure now I’ve already explored a lot of these structures and got a feel for how much variety there is on display so I’m

Hoping going to be able to show you that by generating a few new structures and I’m kind of glad that we got this room because this has a very cool and interesting Design This is powder snow you’re going to need to bring your Lea boots ah and now this tweet makes so

Much more sense to me so what are some of the key features of these structures well I’ve always found a room with a tree in it which I think is the starting room and often nearby you can find rooms with beds okay this one’s kind of sneaky

It’s actually like behind here and yeah there’s a bed so a place to set your spawn and a chest to put your items in now these rooms here are quite common these are like your main corridors I’ve seen some with out spawners in and some with several and in this layout we can

See there’s some verticality here with quite a challenging layout for where these mob spawners have positioned you’ll have to make your way up while more and more mobs are spawning it’s also quite common to see these doors and then they lead into a spiral staircase

That will take you up to a higher level and I did see a water logged level at one point and I kind of wondered if it was a mistake but having generated this in a flat world I think this is actually quite intentional oh and the loot we’re

Going to come back to that later on as of right now I’ve generated another layout this one feels a fair bit bigger its Corridor in the middle has a sort of L shape to it we’ve also got this circular room that I’ve seen a few times

In the middle of this there is a dispenser with water and of course that can be activated by the breeze which is in this area so the layout does kind of wind all over the place and some of the rooms here absolutely massive this one

Almost looks like the one that we saw in the Minecraft live demo all right here is another layout all I’m doing is just teleporting 1,000 blocks using a command to generate this structure and checking it out now this one’s going to be our last and interestingly it generated with

Two of those snow rooms and then quite a long Corridor leading to this big old room but next we’re going to talk about how the mobs are split into categories which I explained to you earlier here it explains that each category will use one of the mobs inside it for the entire

Structure when it’s generated so you could only have like husk spider and skeleton you couldn’t have two from the same category so in this structure our small mob is the cave spider a ranged mob is the Stray ah and our melee mob is the zombie and if I hadn’t have found

The cave spider I might have thought this was a baby zombie I think that one needs a different block to distinguish them now want to get into the loot that you can find in these structures but I also want to point out there are things like dispensers in the walls and

Decorated pots as well as chests and barrels and each of these have a category for what type of room they’re in I think the water room is just the lone dispenser in the middle that I showed you earlier so inside of corridors dispensers can have arrows but

Inside of Chambers which I think are those bigger rooms you will get all of these items inside including eggs Potions by the way are slowness poison weakness and some of them are lingering some of them are splash and for those pots that you can find in corridors you

Can actually get a key inside of there and some pretty decent loot here look a block of diamond that’s probably one of the rarer ones though okay so a chest in a supply room will have these things poison arrows slowness arrows a regeneration potion so a reward chest

Not really sure where that’s located but look at this okay you can get a mending book right and you can get enchanted gear wow a golden apple so the inter intersection Barrel I think was something that I showed you just a moment ago diamonds Enchanted tools and chests in the intersection yeah some

Pretty good loot from this right so chests at the entrance you’ve got your axes for scraping the bulbs and honeycomb for waxing them and then your Corridor chests some reasonable loot I like the ender pearls they’re going to be useful and some basic enchantments on these tools and with the loot tables

You’re not going to get all of these at once right and I think that’s pretty evident with the pots as it can only store one type of item now the next thing for us to do is experience one of these in Survival Minecraft but first I’ve got a question for you would you

Like to see a deep dive video on these structures because these are all the components of the trial chamber and if I just search for the MBT files you can see that there’s a heck of a lot of them so there is a ton of stuff that goes

Survival mode well okay then we’re doing this with uh basic early game equipment right iron armor a shield iron tools got me a water bucket some arrows I brought my leather boots of course and I think this is kind of what felt like the starting room for me or at least a

Common room in every dungeon I’ve noticed here at the beginning there’s like a trap door you can open is this actually like lead somewhere I think yeah you could you could have gone down here flip that one that’s really cool I like that okay we got to be on the

Lookout for that but first of all let’s grab some supplies this must be the uh Supply chest and then up here oh okay yeah go on then we’ll have some Enchanted gear none of the mobs here could set me on fire could they I think it makes sense to take regular

Protection oh and this right here look looks like the entrance of course when you would discover one of these it’s probably going to be from like any old Direction all right we got our first mobs coming through I don’t know if this is from a trial spawner or not oh

They’re getting a little bit close got to be cautious here oh and a baby zombie that could be a death sentence move around pillar up eat food we’re going to be okay oh except they knocked me off they knocked me off let’s try that again woo all right we

Learned about this spot a moment agoa it’s actually a secret room yes and what’s in here ah more Enchanted gear but yeah look at this mossy cobblestone hey and I got a key oh you’re going to have to go and get your loot quickly because you know it might despawn oh

Yeah let’s not forget the pot what was in here oh I have to break it of course yeah why am I right clicking on it oh we got another pot let’s break it AME shards uh nothing much of useful actually I guess the scaffolding might

Be useful this means that we can go up even though there’s ladders on the side okay and up the top here at the great level it doesn’t feel like there’s much else to discover right now it’s kind of like bring us in to a new area that’s partially water logged but we’re going

To go in this direction it’s getting a little bit dark over here I know the torch doesn’t help too much did you see the uh particle effects on the spawner though okay I should have put down some blocks to cheese these spiders a little more all right let’s get back in there

Then there’s going to be a bunch more here’s the real way you deal with the spider is all right that’s it that’s it follow me this way and you’re stuck you can’t come through okay look at that I got another key awesome that’s two of

Them oh look at this oh and another key awesome let’s go down to the next level I saw a spawner it was another spider one right when that one dies yep look another one spawned because it had its mob cap will we get another one yep it’s

Working just as we’d expect okay so now we’ll get a prize oh baked potatoes okay so that room was a dead end going to head back into this intersection okay there wasn’t much going on in that room it just going to led us to this big one

I think we’re about to encounter the breeze I’ve got that feeling the breeze is in this room right this is going to be interesting oh my God there’s our first Breeze I need to get some hits on you buddy oh okay you sent me back you

Sent me back let’s try it with the bow and arrow oh oh that’s that might be easier keeping you at a distance all right this guy’s toast come on you just walked into a corner dude what are you doing and look at that the second one spawns immediately after so it’s only

Going to be one at a time from that spawner uh-oh let’s back off you know what I should be doing I should be using my shield right okay this really hasn’t felt like much of a challenge but I’m I’m fighting it oneon-one at the moment like there’s no other mobs

Here oh there he goes he jumped I was waiting to show you that okay and now I got to activated that skeleton spaw over over there by going too close to it so this could get tricky oh but I’ve just taken you down and I got a reward and

It’s another key I’m going to yink that and then I’m going to get out of here oh my God they’re poison oh definitely time to leave right I’ve come back to the water logged area found this room got myself some diamonds I mean what else would it be I’ve earned this I’ve now

Got me a diamond sword oh I missed this I’m doing a little bit of backtracking totally missed this this feels like a challenge room yetep we’ve got cobwebs oh this could mean yep we got poison again that’s rough that’s rough I’m cheesing it this is the way

This is the way I should be blocking with my shield that’s the way you deal with these guys oh here we go all right look at me I got another key wonderful oh okay a baby zombie just spawned out of the same one that the adults came out

Of I don’t know if that’s the way it’s supposed to work but they’ve all been slaughtered and I got another key oh and another one and we got some loot I will take the helmet okay that’s this room conquered and just one more chest to open hey some more enchantments so I’ve

Gone back to this room that I chickened out of the first time oh get a diamond axe that’s pretty good and this might be the last of the structure it certainly feels like it okay around the back here I think it continues on no that that’s

It look I think that’s all of it so that my friends took me about 20 minutes and of course we only got to see a handful of the mob types it did feel a little bit on the easy side but the poison arrows those were definitely the toughest challenge so I’m switching into

Spectator mode just to see if I missed anything okay was there a down area here that I missed yeah look I skipped this spot so let’s quickly jump into survival and find out what oh yeah this was this was one heck of a challenge right there’s mobs that are going to spawn up

There too amazing I took them all out right I’m I’m probably about to die yep yep I wanted to see what was up no okay dang it I was very curious as to why none was spawning from up here I think maybe I hadn’t activated them yet although I got

Close to this one but maybe the skeletons from these ones stop these ones from activating I’m not entirely sure anyways if I’d have been patient we’d probably could have dealt with that room but these mobs they feel like the toughest ones I’ve encountered this leaves us with just one more thing to

Talk about this video over on the official Minecraft Channel there is the Minecraft monthly series and today they hyped us up in anticipation of seeing something related to the armadillo which of course won the mob vote and that was simply some concept art and this is actually it they’ve just shared with us

One image but I like the idea that there could be multiple colors for the armadillo that’s kind of cool but this was it so I don’t know if we’re going to see it soon or not but you know they wanted to share this concept art
