Hello everyone my name is Pixar IFS and welcome back to the Minecraft Survival Guide I hope you guys are having a good day today for episode 101 I figured we would do something a little bit different I always say that at the start of these episodes but since yesterday’s Episode was a world tour and was a little bit light on the tutorial side of things I thought I would turn to you the viewers and ask you if there was anything you wanted to know about Minecraft that I could kind of do a bunch of quickfire questions so today We’re actually going to answer 101 questions about Minecraft what is the meaning of minecraft minecraft can actually be quite a complex name mine can be a noun or a verb either a place to obtain minerals from the earth or the act of digging to obtain those minerals Now crafts usually refers to the act of making objects from materials but mine is also a possessive pronoun and craft can also be a noun like the set of skills you practice when performing an action you learn the craft of woodworking or theater so I like to Think minecraft is really what you make of it what is your favorite minecraft feature that you don’t actually use spectral arrows our poisonous potato is really useless technically no they still restore two points which is one shank of your hunger and they only have a 60% Chance of poisoning you but there are so many other food options including not poisonous potatoes that it doesn’t really make sense to eat them how do you come up with new builds if your creativity is dull how do you spring fun back into your Minecraft world start Working with new materials a new theme or a new area get some reference material draw out a few things in creative first invite your friends how to not get burnt out by too much building or having no inspiration for new buildings slash farms etc do something else go exploring fight some Mobs raid a temple or alternatively step away from Minecraft altogether play some different games when you come back set small achievable goals for yourself write them down in a check list if you need to I saw a play ahead in the creative menu how do you get one of Those in survival is it possible player heads can only be obtained by using commands what is the difference between bedrock and Java minecraft Java Edition is coded in Java and can be played on Windows Mac or Linux minecraft bedrock edition is coded in C++ and can be Played on windows 10 mobile Xbox one and switch there are a lot of other differences but they’re too many dimension here what features blocks or mobs do you really want in future updates I really want to have a way to have colored lighting I don’t know about blocks or mobs i just Want to light something up with atmospheric colors hair to get the secret advancement in the advancement menu have all the status effects at once that’s not just the ones from potions that also includes ones you can only get from mobs like a levitation and mining fatigue it’s very difficult I want to Know how to make an Enderman farm go to the end build a platform 128 blocks away from any other land spawn an endermite to agro the Enderman and put it in a place where Enderman can’t attack it those are the basics we’ll do a full episode about this another time what are Some cool things you can create using ugly blocks and cities what is the difference between the steve model and the alex model alex has thinner arms does the legacy console edition of minecraft use redstone mechanics from Java or bedrock it’s probably closer to bedrock what minecraft animal do you like the most Mushrooms how do you catch a gust and what can you do with it gasps can be dragged around using fishing rods captured in minecarts force through a portal into the overworld and then killed you get an advancement for it also bits of your world probably get blown up what is your favorite Enchantment silk touch is the Minecraft world flat or will you eventually find yourself looping back around to the world infinitely the world never loops back on itself even in maps with limited size like the ones on the legacy console editions what is the most common building mistake during the first few Days in your Minecraft world probably the most common mistake is building a house at all it’s actually a lot more effective to find yourself a cave and use that as a base until you’ve acquired enough resources and safety to build a house but if you want to build a house On your first night don’t bite off more than you can chew just build a basic shelter with whatever resources you’ve got to hand you can always expand it later it’s the Minecraft world really infinite technically no but it’s got a diameter of about 60 million blocks so it may as Well be do you prefer Minecraft as it is right now or do you prefer how it used to be when you start it definitely how it is now there’s way more variety of blocks the environment looks better the elektra is a thing there are dolphins how long does it usually take to beat Minecraft for beginners I know some people who have still never fought the ender dragon I mean it helps if you don’t think of Minecraft as something you have to beat but if you want to talk about just starting the game to reaching the end and killing the dragon Be about a week for beginners totally depends what your objectives are though what’s your favorite block or item for its functions and aesthetic purpose I like the looks of dark Perez marine and the functionality of sticky pistons would you make every sheep a rainbow sheep by making it Jeb no because even Though it ends up cycling through the colors like this it still gives you the wool of whatever color sheep it was before you name tagged it so if every sheep was like that I have no idea what color will I was getting where the villager babies come from when to Ambiguously gendered villagers love each other very much have traded a bunch or have enough food and there are a whole bunch of doors around babies how to properly prepare an obsidian farm in your base get lots of lava pour water on it profit alternatively just go to the End and mine the obsidian pillars they will respawn in their entirety next time you respawn the dragon will you ever make a bedrock video I use bedrock and half the stuff in Java doesn’t work the reason I make Java videos is because half the stuff doesn’t work in bedrock I don’t know the Mechanics of bedrock edition well enough to make tutorials from that version of the game what is the best sword you can fight the ender dragon with anything with sharpness 5 what does the noteblock meant for playing the musics what are some of the small ways that Optifine changes the Minecraft experience from a Normal one finer control over video settings dynamic lighting shader support and the zoom key what’s the most important thing in a survival beginner base having a bed what is the most important item in Minecraft wood what are you most excited for in the 1.14 update lanterns more control over Villager professions and foxes are there easy ways to travel in the end when you’re searching for n cities and Elektra once you have an Electra it makes it a lot easier to get more slime log flying machines can transport players if you can build them aside from that Enderman are everywhere so get Ender pearls if you can how many items can you carry in your inventory including an ender chest full of Shilka boxes okay let’s do the maths here a shelcha box has 27 available spaces which can hold 64 items each for a full stack that’s 1728 items an ender chest Has 27 available spaces each holding one shelcha box filled with 1728 items taking us to a total of 46,656 the players inventory space has room for thirty seven items 27 in the inventory nine in the hotbar and one for the offhand let’s say we put 64 enderchest in the Off hands taking us to forty six thousand seven hundred and twenty now we fill the remaining thirty six spaces of our inventory with Charcot boxes each containing 1728 items giving us sixty two thousand two hundred and eight items to add to our forty six thousand seven Hundred and twenty taking us to a total of 108 thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight items and finally four pieces of armor making the total one hundred eight thousand nine hundred and thirty-two what resource we’ll smelt most things in the furnace I know dried kelp blocks melts twenty is there Anything better lava buckets can fuel a furnace for smelting 100 items but they can’t be stacked coal blocks can be stacked two sixty four and each of them will smelt 80 things what are the items that are interacted with differently when in a dropper versus a dispenser dispensers can place water lava Pumpkins onto snow golems minecarts onto minecart rails boats onto water Shilka boxes onto solid blocks and lit TNT although the lit TNT may not fall down a one by one hole in front of it so probably best to be aware of that they can also fire arrows including ones that Have effects they can shoot fireworks for you they can light stuff if there’s a flint and steel in the dispenser they can be used to bone meal crops and if there is an armor stand in front of them they can be used to equip armor to the Armor stand and the same works for a player standing in front of them as well droppers on the other hand will just throw stuff out in item form regardless of what it is with 1.14 all villager breeders iron farms and villages trading halls will break will you fix them yeah It’s safe to say I plan to what are your thoughts on the 1.9 combat update neigh or now yeah I play in minecraft 1.13 so it’s fair to say I’m probably over it also I’m a PvE player not a combat focused player so I really don’t mind Will you ever respawn the ender dragon for XP it’s a little too much effort but I like the idea of doing it for fun do you believe in gravity yep what do comparators do comparators can measure how full a container is and put out a redstone signal that indicates how Full a container is they can compare two redstone signals or they can continue a signal in much the same way a repeater does except without boosting it care to farm emeralds or diamonds or redstone or lapis emeralds lapis and a redstone can all be traded from villages diamonds Can’t be farmed but diamond item can also be traded from villages will you consider a season 2 of the minecraft survival guide using 1.14 the series is going to continue into 1.14 in the same world I have some stuff at founders Forge that’s actually waiting for 1.14 blocks and features before I can Complete it how can you identify a slime chunk without using third-party tools dig out an area below y equals 40 get 23 blocks away see if a slime spawns how old is minecraft minecraft was first made public on May 17th 2009 who he actually share a birthday it’s nearly 10 Years old I am almost 30 to spawn a farm vs mob grinder for XP a spawner farm 4 drops mob grinder is it possible to get the nether star from the wither more than twice yeah you just fight it again III think I have three beacons at this Point so yes definitely possible only one per wither though 5 best essential early survival farms cows for food wheat to feed the cows skeletons to grow the wheat melons and pumpkins for good villager trades and XP where are the best places to find villages right now villages only generates in Plains tigers Savannas and deserts pretty soon we’ll also have snow villages which if you’ll forgive the pun is pretty cool if you could add one creature to Minecraft what would it be what drops would it have and why I would add some kind of swamp golem that drops clay or a nether mob that Drops quartz because currently those items aren’t renewable and I would like them to be although it’s worth noting that both of them will be renewable thanks to a trade from a stonemason in the 1.14 update what would you like to see added or updated to Minecraft in the Near future I’ve seen a bunch of people suggesting that a cable Underground update or a nether overhaul is due in future and I have to say I agree with that what minecraft update thus far has been the best one for builders which features specifically Java Edition 1.4.2 added beacons which means haste to Mining for stone which means gathering a ton of resources in a short amount of time half of the struggle of building stuff in survival is just gathering resources which mob is the best source of XP in Minecraft what has the highest XP to lowest health ratio and which drops the largest XP Values that can be most quickly absorbed the first ender dragon fight gets you twelve thousand XP which usually means around 70 to 80 levels Super Nintendo dragon fights get you 500 which is less worth it the wither gives you 50 and aside from that baby zombies And baby zombie pigmen are the best they give you 12 XP each which is pretty high for your average mob but it’s not really possible to consistently farm just baby zombies and baby zombie pigments so the best thing you can do is probably to have either a blaze farm or a guardian fun What’s your default or go to food in Minecraft right now fish why I have tons of cooked fish from The Guardian farm and which you ever changed that up to eat something else steak or golden carrots are widely considered the best foods in terms of saturation the hunger Points they feel the efforts you have to put in to make them and stackability personally I just don’t want to breed and kill cares all the time why are leaf blocks not water laga ball because they haven’t coded it that way also because they are full blocks and I don’t think Full blocks can really be waterlogged but I would like them to change that because this looks really weird how do you locate the stronghold throw some eyes of ender how many skeleton types are there there are three regular skeletons wither skeletons and strays what crops can villagers farm wheat potatoes carrots and beets Although beets aren’t good for breeding with how do you build a nether portal put at least 10 obsidian into a rectangular frame and light it on fire what are the types of ore in the game coal iron gold lapis redstone diamonds emeralds nether quartz and the ones used To row in a boat to blazes effect the like level around them and reduce wither skeleton spawns or is that only block lighting the mobs themselves don’t produce any natural lights but their fireballs can light fires in the surrounding area fire produces light which can prevent wither skeleton sports I want to improve my wither skeleton farm but I can’t figure out a good way to draw blazes away I’m using turtle eggs to remove zombie pigman blazes don’t aggro on anything except a player that they can see there isn’t really a good way to draw them away that doesn’t Involve them shooting fire at you how do I look up information about Minecraft on reddit treat reddit like a community notice board more than an informative resource if you want information about game mechanics try the wiki in your opinion is combat against NPCs too easy Know is there more than one end city yes what’s the first version of minecraft you can remember playing on xbox360 title update 14 it was April 2014 and they’d only just added anvils quartz and villager trading it was a simpler time can you actually do anything with rotten flesh you can feed It to wolves as food you can trade it to clerics for emeralds and you can even eat it yourself if you stand still The Hunger debuff won’t take your hunger bar down past full so you can actually use it to heal up in a pinch would you still Play minecraft if automated farms didn’t exist yes and I’d probably play it even more than I do now because I would have to spend all that time collecting resources by hand ymo yang killing stuff like iron farms they aren’t if they wanted to kill iron farms they just removed the mechanic That spawns iron golems all completely nerf the drops you get from them in the 1.14 update our iron farm doesn’t work at all why villages in 1.14 don’t generate iron golems based on the position of a village and the number of doors they generate it based on gossip And eye contact can you create an iron farm with the new village of communicating concept I already did it wasn’t very good but it worked doc em has one that is miles better what’s something you don’t like about Minecraft the fact that bedrock and Java have totally different mechanics would you Ever want to work for mo yang work for them probably not to hang out with them yes what is one material in real life you wish was in Minecraft marble no no no wait wait bismuth do you feel minecraft might get too complicated with all the new features They’re trying to introduce know the fundamentals of the game remained the same it just gains more depth explaining things verbally is a little complicated but playing them is still pretty intuitive what are some features that were removed from Minecraft that you really wish had stayed I kind of want to See the illusion ER at it to survival what are some features removed from Minecraft that you were happy to have removed in one of the 1.13 snapshots phantoms used to spawn in the end except you couldn’t get rid of them like you can in the overworld because it’s not Possible to sleep there because beds explode yeah no thanks how many hours have you spent in the Minecraft Survival Guide world alright let me look this up in the statistics where is time played 17.7 five days multiply that by 24 that amount of time what’s the best tree to Farm when you need a lot of wood quickly 2×2 spruce woods lots of woods lots of sampling drops and a straight trunk so that you don’t have to spend time digging around in branches for those extra wood blocks one unfortunate side-effect it generates a lot of pods All around it but that might also be a good thing if you want to farm pods or how many times will a villager upgrade its traits it varies based on their profession how many other raids do you have to make to open up trades with the villager once it is Crossed out the first time you ever make a trade with that villager it will unlock any existing locked trades after that it’s random but it shouldn’t be possible for a villager to lock up completely there’s feeding villagers carrots increase your reputation no the only thing that improves your reputation is Trading for the last item on their trade list there’s accidentally hitting one with your hands decrease your reputation yes attacking a villager is minus one for your popularity they never stop trading with you but if the village generates iron golems they will attack you if you Get below a score of minus fifteen why in the world do they implement shields to be toggled when crouched in bedrock addition you’ve got to have a control system that works for mobile users without filling up the touch screen with buttons will I get any of the new Villages and pillager towers when the update comes out if I use my current world yes but they won’t appear in chunks you’ve already generated you’ll need to explore further than you’ve currently explored in your world we’ll 1.14 break my current save if your world was generated in 1.13 I don’t think so If you used customization settings from one point twelve or earlier it might be a more complicated update process have you ever seen Hera brine or at least thought you saw him hair O’Brien was a hoax and is now kind of a community in joke he doesn’t exist in the game and he Never has do you prefer building at or near spawn or spending your first days trekking to an interesting location to build and which do you recommend for newer players interesting locations are definitely my jam but if you’re a new or a veteran player I recommend at least building a Shelter at spawn so if you die at night you’ll always have somewhere to sleep in a bed and D spawn all those hostile mobs before you go out looking for your stuff if someone plays minecraft from the beginning to getting Elektra is there more to the achievements along the way Or is that it there are definitely achievements or advancement outside of what’s required for the progression of the game take for example a venturing time which requires you to visit every biome in the world if one completes all the achievements is it considered the end of the game that’s up to you Minecraft doesn’t really have an ending the player decides when it’s time to move on so if you decide completing that all the advancements is your goal that could be the end of the game for you when that’s just chapter one for somebody else why a creepers green a lot Of the Minecraft world is already green so it’s supposed to be natural camouflage notch also said that he imagines the texture of a creeper to be kind of crunchy like leaves so these are basically sentient plants that also happen to go where do you put your minecraft backup Worlds in the backups folder and every so often I also save them as zip files and back them up to a separate hard drive just in case my mind cuts with furnaces totally useless they aren’t exactly useless but no one really uses them anymore they’re really buggy and They’ve kind of been made obsolete by powered rails what is the terminal velocity of a falling player African or European no really okay eighty six point seven meters per second what fact about Minecraft do you really want us to know but you haven’t found an excuse to put it in an episode Yet name tagging a mob Dinnerbone org rum makes the game render it upside down should I use an X or a sword for combat swords do more damage per second if you time things right but axes are do more damage with a single swing axes also lose to durability per hit while swords Only lose one axes can temporarily stun lock shields in PvP it’s really up to you I like axes but I use a sword for enchantments like looting and sweeping edge what is the use of item frame in redstone comparators can output a redstone signal that increases as you Rotate the item Carole log whether you do the Minecraft Survival Guide for
