Probably wondering how I ended up here right how is this even possible how did I turn my silly old hobby into a career well I guess I should start from the Beginning growing up I was interested in all sorts of things trampolining acting gymnastics visual effects but one thing I always enjoyed above all was getting lost in the world of video games and that’s almost every kid’s dream right to spend every day losing themselves in their favorite video

Games but it wasn’t something I ever thought I could make a business out of as far as I was concerned that was for the lucky few YouTubers who made it big doing let’s plays and being hilarious so I continued exploring different interests that were I guess considered more realistic career options

By Society whilst also making YouTube content as a hobby hoping that if I worked hard enough on it in my free time and made the right choices I could turn it into something more but before I knew it years had passed I’ve been studying hard for my

Visual effects degree which part of me hoped could prepare me for a career in Minecraft giving me vital skills and experience in digital sculpting and creating but graduation day had come and while a few of my videos had gotten some traction I still didn’t really know what

I was doing on YouTube or how to grow as a Creator and I definitely wasn’t earning enough money to make a living out of it I needed to find a Job so I got some interviews lined up and even managed to schedule one or two with a few big names in the gaming industry in the meantime though Minecraft was having a huge spike in popularity with a ton of big YouTubers like PewDiePie DanTDM and laser beam doing their own

Let’s play series and everyone including me was so hyped to see their first experiences in game and what they would get up to in their worlds at that point I saw an opportunity open up it suddenly clicked and I had my own little light bulb moment sure I could try to build the

Best Minecraft creation in the world but that could never launch my career if I wasn’t making an entertaining video and making smart choices about my content I had to make something that people could sink their teeth into so I decided to start recreating Minecraft bases from the most popular let’s plays on YouTube

Transforming them into epic creations with thoughtful references to the series they had originated from I started with PewDiePie’s Minecraft base and I worked so hard on every detail investing days into the process on the flip side though I had my next interview looming over me and after a few rejections I knew

This would be my last chance to invest this much time into my videos so I went to my last interview and once it was all wrapped up I was so Keen to check how my upload had been doing and what I saw when I got home was something I definitely was not prepared

For my video had been getting insane traction like I’d never seen on my channel before I was so hyped but the realization also hit me that it was crunch time I had to make a decision I had to take one last leap of faith if I was going to turn this into something

Scenes things were finally working out in the way I’d envisioned and honestly it was pretty overwhelming I had a lot to juggle on my own after months of brainstorming content ideas building scripting rendering and editing over and over and over again I was already feeling pretty

Worn out and I was starting to lose some traction it was hard seeing my videos reaching less and less people even if they were still doing quite well it was difficult to stay motivated especially making videos that require so much creative input and most of all it got kind of

Lonely suddenly I noticed a shift in those closest to me and not in a good way I was running on empty and worse without a support network I was struggling with a number of obstacles in my life and it just wasn’t sustainable and then I met Steph okay now it’s your turn Steph

Finally well guys I guess this is my cue to jump In I met Oscar in 2019 and I was fascinated by the world of Minecraft I’d always been into video games even more than he had but how did I end up becoming the other half of Trixie blocks well let’s just say my life definitely hasn’t followed a straight path I met Oscar while studying law at the University I’d always dreamed of

Attending sounds ideal right well to be honest with you it was tough to tell the truth I didn’t enjoy it since I was a kid as cliche as it sounds I never fitted in I was always a big old nerd but I struggled at a school where being smart was considered

Annoying no matter how hard I tried I didn’t fit in and in the end I didn’t want to if that meant throwing my values out the window despite all that I was lucky enough to have some amazing teachers and parents to help me along the way but otherwise I was on my

Own I didn’t know anyone who even been to University I didn’t have any connections I was just a kid from a small village in the middle of nowhere who had Big Dreams yeah yeah I know it’s cliche but it’s true I wasn’t sure what to do with my

Life because I enjoyed all my subjects at school and I really enjoyed being creative too but I ultimately landed on law as my career choice and to be fair my mom always told me I was great at arguing on top of that I decided if I was going

To do this I was going to Aspire for the best I was going to apply for the top university on the league table that year Cambridge so I put myself through the insane application process and I got in I was so hyped when I got my offer I just couldn’t wait to escape

To a place where I’d be surrounded by like-minded people doing something I was passionate about so my dream was finally becoming a reality right well when I got started things didn’t turn out like I’d expected I didn’t find like-minded people I didn’t really enjoy my studies I felt isolated overworked and my mental

Health took a real hit this had been my dream for as long as I could remember and once again I felt deflated as though I’d worked so hard for nothing and the creativity I’d embraced in school was fading away and that’s when I met Oscar finally this story takes a happier

Lawyer but I was still not happy each step I was taking in my life felt disappointing and unfulfilling the only thing I was really enjoying was getting involved with the Trixie blocks Channel and it was all I could think about and so similar to Oscar I too came to a Crossroads in my

Life the channel had the scope to grow further and Oscar desperately needed help juggling everything damn we sure do a lot of juggling this video when we worked together things just clicked so well and we were able to go bigger with our ideas and refine

Things so much more we were able to make content we were really proud of and just grow together so I quit I quit being a lawyer to play Minecraft all day what was I thinking would my family be disappointed in me was this a good idea in all honesty it was the best

Decision I ever made and without my education I could never have made Minecraft or YouTube into a career and somehow I work even harder now than I have my whole life yet I absolutely love it so with Steph at my side our projects were just getting bigger and better

A playable survival map sure I could aim to make another creative fantasy map with the largest most impressive builds I could possibly create but to limit my Creations to work in a survival friendly world would be the ultimate task and so this was the start of the ultimate survival
