Sjin – Better Minecraft: MineColonies #35 – CASTLE RAID

Hello and welcome back to better minecraft mike connolly’s last episode we discovered what happiness means to our colonists and we got the mystical site built but that’s not all we also got the university up to level three so without further ado let’s go and do some

Research oh man so it’s been a long time coming but the university is finally level three and it’s time to see what we can do in the research everything else here on the colony has been going amazingly so hopefully we can keep that winning streak going now here we are

Research unlockables nothing new here but technology is always the big one and now let’s go and see what’s available at level three the dye is hurt that’s very very very important and it’s going to require 64 poppies double trouble is really important this will let us have two plantation fields

Rather than one and grow two crops at the same time oh hello this research magic potions gives us a new building the alchemist pave the road is pretty cool gives us the concrete mixers hut whoa check this out hot boots miners have lava and fire immunity that’s actually really really strong

Builder modes this could actually be incredible so the reason why the university took so long is because it’s a really big and wide building but builder modes will unlock different ways to build bigger buildings oh man i think that’s definitely something we have to do warehouse master at the option to select

Recipes based on warehouse stock oh that’s really cool right so it will make um sticks out of oak if there isn’t enough of a different type of material okay that’s cool more ores from the miner that is actually a really really really strong research enhanced gates so i’ve never used gates before

Raider swarm resistance wait a minute what’s a raider swarm oh this could be bad so that technology combat has its own trees as well that we can’t really go into yet because well we haven’t really done much in combat okay so the research we’re going to be

Going for is rainbow heaven to get the dyers hut oh wait hang on a sec no we need the flower shop to be level three so the dyer’s hurt requires the flower shot to be level three so we’ll have to wait with that unfortunately but the

Ones we’re going to go for are hot boots and i think builder modes now we already have the axe for the builder modes amazing so let’s get some iron ingots and some leather now also we have this at level three now which means we can have three research

Assistants and dog foofoo isn’t amazing but his intelligence now is up to level 20 which means pretty quickly he’ll become a great researcher now as you can see i think our researchers are still hard at work doing their old research so in about an hour or so they’re going to be finished with

That and we can crack onto some more level 3 research but having the ability to do three researches at the same time is pretty mind-blowing now like i said last episode we’re very much at the phase now of mine colonies where most of the time we’re just waiting for things

To happen in the background so i’m going to make sure all of our builders are set to automatic building mode that means new key but also jade the rat and there we go automatic mode and now we can go around and make sure all of the buildings that we want to be level

Three are set up to get there now i believe the most important one was the flower shop but honestly we’re kind of in trouble because that’s not even level two yet oh man yeah there’s just so many buildings waiting to be built even the town hall is still waiting on

An upgrade to get to level three oh yeah and in fact we never even queued up the glass blowing hut to get built oh man what a rookie move oh no hang on a sec what the hell is going on here we’ve come to the hospital and there’s sickness ripping through the

Colony it looks like these guys have measles and they need dandelion kelp and poppies oh no i i think i’ve run out of poppies and dandelions and kelp i’m gonna have to gather some lickety-split so with so much work to be done here on the colony i think this is a perfect

Opportunity and i’m not gonna lie i’ve been waiting for this moment for a long long time but this is the perfect opportunity to go out and give my dragon a bit of a test drive that’s right we’re gonna go full hiccup here and train our dragon

Now he should be in the tree somewhere there he is just chilling how on earth did he get in the tree you know what that tree that bit of tree isn’t even connected to the tree what the hell well if he falls out of that tree he’ll

Probably die so i’m going to be very careful here okay there we go right yeah oh man he’s so quick though isn’t he it’s very very cool right so with everything kind of happening on the colony here let’s go on a mission to try and find some poppy

Dandelion and kelp so we can cure our colonists now having this dragon be able to kind of move as quick as it can is going to be a huge bonus because we can cover huge huge huge huge huge distances of land very very very quickly so let’s do it

And because we have straw fingers in a cage it means things will happen at the colony while we’re away alright alright so the first thing we’re looking for is poppies dandelions and kelps because we need to cure our colonists of their wicked disease there’s some poppy don’t mind if i do

Stay there aegon so this is really a great opportunity for my workers in the background to get all those buildings up to level three and if we weren’t doing this we’d probably just have to sit around at the colony and basically go afk all right all right bit of poppies so

We’re looking for the yellow flowers the red flowers and of course in the c-section some kelp the kelp will be super easy to find that i am not worried about in the slightest so let’s keep our eyes peeled for yellow flowers oh i think i see some over there yeah lovely stuff

Now you guys in the comments section are amazing with tips honestly half the things about minecraft and mine colonies i wouldn’t know if it wasn’t for you and one of the things you said was if you use bone meal on flowers it duplicates the flowers that’s really good to know going forwards

Oh yeah look at this loads and loads of poppies lovely stuff come on aegon to the sky now ironically actually um some of you guys said oh no don’t do dragons they’re boring and thinking about it i did dragons at the end of all the mod 6 and right after i

Ended the series so i imagine some of you were worried that maybe dragons were cursed and that’s what caused me to win series but don’t worry there’s still loads to do on my colony we are not stopping anytime soon okay i reckon that’s enough let’s go back and

Drop these off so that our colonists can get well cured because if they’re not cured quickly some of the colonists are required for my building and if they’re not working then we can’t get all of our buildings up to level three so it’s very important that we get these guys cured

Now which way was it home there we go southwest zoom zoom zoom now i can land on the roof i suppose will this work yeah there we go you just stay here oh my god where’s he gone oh okay yeah he’s going down there so let’s just drop these off into the warehouse

And our colonists should get cured pretty quickly okay so while our dudes are hard at work which direction are we gonna go in okay well look at the map where is the closest area that we haven’t explored so we’ve kind of gone pretty far south we’ve gone

Most areas what about up here i think never eat shred northwest beyond the pink forest has loads of cool stuff wait hang on a sec maybe it’s time that we return to this wacky fortress it could have some cool stuff now we’re in better minecraft which means there

Are a whole set of different things for you to do in this mod completely separate from mine colonies including a whole set of bosses oh also we can use our dragon to uh just swoop in on these towers and loot them of all their cool stuff yeah that’s a really good idea actually

Look at this so a free way stone thank you very much and what’s in the chest oh yeah the good stuff now while we’re out and about it’s also a good idea i think to keep my eyes on the mini-map in case we see one of the

New creatures from alex’s mob because we do have acacia blossoms and if we can find something like say oh i don’t know an elephant we could actually tame him but i have no idea at all where we would find an elephant so maybe not

Oh man i do have to say though this is a much nicer looking world than my all the mod 6 world which was well it was okay in theory but the truth is i don’t know this is just so optimized the shaders are amazing honestly i love better minecraft it’s so good

So we’re looking for cool structures we can pillage do we see any cool structures oh hello what is this over here oh oh looks like a pillager camp yeah better stay away from that one so my dragon can attack people i think but it doesn’t seem to have any kind of breath attack

Oh poppies they’ll come in handy later on oh my god as your blue a honestly when you don’t need them you find them but i never want to run out of those bad boys ever again how’s it going little dude no you can’t okay you can have one carrot just

One carrot but that’s all you’re getting man look at this this is a really cool looking river honestly if i hadn’t built my colony where i did i would certainly build it somewhere nice like this this is a really well designed river look at the way it snakes around

Oh it’s just so good looking and then this nice little lake down here is just fantastic now now night time is sleep time however my dragon is also a hungry mother trucker so let’s go and see if we can find him something to eat he usually likes fish

And there’s usually fish inside these houses okay no fish in here but never mind there we go rise and shine time to keep on with the hunt now i am so nervous leaving my colony like this because it’s so big now and sprawly that i feel like honestly there’s gonna there’s gonna be

A colonist that dies to a monster i’m calling it while i’m out on my dragon i’m gonna lose a colonists to a monster and it’s gonna suck real bad but there’s nothing we can do we’ve gotta leave the colonists at some point you gotta let the chicken

Leave the roost is that the saying yeah Aegon to me onwards wow that’s a bit glitchy isn’t it okay so let’s keep on keeping on in this general direction we have explored really far away actually it’s pretty cool the dragon has some insane speed very impressed Whoa what is this biome this is really cool though look how tall this grass is Giant tall grass oh this is really cool i love it oh man imagine playing tag or paintball or something like that in a field like this that’d be pretty scary but also pretty freaking amazing aha looks like we see another one of these wacky towers there’s always good

Loot at the top so let’s go and check it out oh hey look at this one of the researchers completed good job new kingdom great job ah well that kind of sucks we’ll leave those Oh hey whoa what the hell is this this looks really freaking cool i definitely want to check this thing out now because we have a dragon we can skip all of that rubbish of climbing up this evil fortress and then go right to the top and take the loot from the best

Chests so long as these guys don’t absolutely destroy my dragon okay now the neptunium axe is really strong this guy’s wearing diamond armor and we’re still taking him downtown boom what’s going on here what the hell that’s a bit weird yeah here we go this looks like the loot zone Hello my dudes i’m here to steal your stuff oh whoa what’s this gold is that gold ore so these are all vanilla monsters but they are kitted out to the nines with like diamond gear what’s the deal why diamond gear oh secret chest whoa oh my god look at this booty

Time to take it and go oh my god really time to go oh my god No now i have actually just got some sweet loot from that chest so honestly yeah let’s put on some diamond gear why not i’ve got some Diamond pants unbreaking and protection good fire protection on the helmets do i have a chest piece though no this is all amazing stuff so what i think is i might have to take these guys out with a bit of range action like my bow instead because wait what’s that oh

We got another research done parry excellent yeah so can we kill these guys with a bow and arrow i don’t see any spawners so i don’t think they’re gonna come back oh hang on a sec actually with this new armor i don’t take any damage at all

Well okay let’s go in with axes blazing oh look at this bit of civil war going on here okay who’s next i really should have made a shield in fact there we go i’ve got a shield boom there we go much better now i can withstand some arrows

So i think i saw another chest inside one of these tables oh oh my god the mother lode 10 diamonds 30 gold ingots an enchanted book of flame bombs a supply camp activator rails oh my god an iron chest plate with protection three incredible this is insane what an amazing haul

Gold ore but gold all kind of sucks yeah we don’t need gold ore let’s just leave that bones are good though what about down here oh no it’s too deadly down there i’m not going in ah and another day dawns on a beautiful beautiful world oh man so honestly i

Really should have been exploring a little bit more but i think really the real breakthrough here is me and my dragon having a dragon means i can fly to the top of these dungeons and get the best loot very very quickly well okay that was this kind of weird dungeon what

About the dungeon that kicked my ass before this one over here let’s create a waypoint and move in that direction Yes here we are the castle it looks really freaking cool somebody spent a long time designing all these massive massive dungeons it’s just a shame i’m not going all the way from the bottom to the top we’re just cutting straight to the loot Okay on with the looting oh my god we are going to get so rich look at all this stuff any more oh is that a chest there oh wait these are all barrels oh my god there’s so much stuff so much amazing stuff ah oh our first enemies let’s give him a

Wide berth yeah hmm so it looks like getting into these really tall towers is quite tricky there’s is there a way up here anywhere do you see anything oh no there’s just a spawner up there i see oh my god quite a few oh my god oh my god time to go

Okay aegon let’s try and land on top of one of these things or is that a bad idea wait what is what is that Whatever it is it’s on fire and it looks pretty freaking scary okay drop me off and i’m gonna go kick some ass oh no okay that was pretty close where is my dragon gone can i call my dragon to me dragon assist me i’m i’m stuck

I’m gonna have to nerd pull my way out of this one okay we’re going in oh my god there’s loads of them now oh no oh my god i just keep getting knocked back i mean they don’t look like they have bows oh the skeleton’s riding them okay okay now it makes sense

Oh my god i can’t get close to them buckle up cowboy there’s some darn raiders coming from the darn oh this is not the time oh my god where is where is my dragon come on dragon we’ve got to go come on puff aragon gargamel whatever your name is we’ve got

To get home and defend the colony oh my god but don’t worry skeletons i will oh my god the knockback is savage there he is okay let’s go okay wrong way science science come on we haven’t got much time honestly the raiders will be creeping up on my camp as we speak

Oh come on oh okay so they may have spawned in the water this time which will be really good news for us because it means they’re moving really slowly so we’re gonna leave the dragon here and scoot on down get our banner out yes the conga line of stupidity has

Returned and it looks like it’s even longer this time here we go nine guards are oh do you mind oh my god aegon i’m gonna go and park you up by my windmill there we go stay okay so the dudes have arrived now this is gonna be pretty exciting because we

Have two druids with us and we also have a couple of arches as well so this should be quite an interesting battle if my guys can make it in time come on dudes here they come but don’t worry they’re very slow let’s take a few pot shots okay go boys go

Oh my god they’re going in the druids are throwing their combat potions oh but it’s the worst when these guys are fighting in the water it means archers really do shred them come on guys five raiders come on i don’t want to see any fatalities three raiders come on dudes

Oh my god no i’ve gone outside the bounds my guards have gone home but there’s one guy left death from below well done my friends and we didn’t drop a single guard fantastic so only nine guards which is kind of weird because we’re supposed to have around about 15.

And so i think maybe only guards that are in the area actually come to answer the call well okay we’ve got some amazingly fat loot let’s go and check on our guys and see how much they’ve built in our absence so alyssa jack hasn’t even started with

Her guard tower because she needs an item frame okay ginge ginger is fine but how about nuki what’s he up to what does he need nuki needs polished and decide slab so we need to make sure that we have those two recipes sorted on the colony now i

Thought the carpenter was the guy who made picture frames but he might not know the recipe so let’s go and check crafting recipes yeah he has it leather and oh no here we go here is the problem frost bright sticks and there we go the carpenter is fixed

Now we need to go over to the stone mason to make sure that she knows polished andesite slabs man it’s always the little things isn’t it here we go polished slab and it’s apparently just three andesites torts and we’ll teach you how to make andesite as well

There we go polished endocyte that’s how you make that so while we were out on our exploration mission we did actually get two more researches done so let’s go into the post box here gather the materials that we stashed for later not bad and go and put these to use

Here we go hot boots so our miner does not die to lava and to come back to last episode what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna try and make a cake so that we can get citizen happiness up by five percent i think it isn’t on its own that great but once you

Get even more of these researches done your happiness on the colony goes up massively ending up with plus 30 pretty cool so it’s a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake we’ve got some wheat some milk buckets some chicken eggs all we need now is the sugar and i think we’re good

To go oh there we go alyssa has finally started work i guess she got the picture frame that she so desperately required mr the cokehead there’s a man who knows how to party and there we go circus for five percent more happiness and that’s going to be really good for

Us in the future oh look at this wow alyssa finished that guard tower very very quickly okay great news so now that everything’s back to normal on the colony and we’ve defended against that crazy cowboy raid whatever that was it means we can go back out on an exploration mission so

Let’s restock up on food and get going okay so i’ve got food i’ve got a good weapon i’ve got bag space i’ve got everything i need now to get back on the hunt for some pretty sick loot because i have an appointment with the rude dudes

On top of that castle there was a chest there and i reckon it’s got some pretty crazy loot in it so let’s go and find out exactly what it is okay here we are so we need a strategy it looks like every single one of these tall towers

Has in the center a spawner and i imagine some pretty good loot so what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna land straight on top real quick as quick as we can use our pickaxe to break the spawner and then deal with whoever’s left are you ready okay three two one let’s do it

Yes okay spawn it down boom one down let’s ice this full and he’s gone okay where’s his friend okay his friend is burning in the sunlight that’s good for us let’s try and shoot these suckers down one down wait where’s this other guy oh my god he killed his mount and not

Him oh yeah that’s right um our dragon is eating him oh my god how much damage is he doing not a huge amount but not that little oh oh this is dangerous though he’s only got 28 health here we go yeah oh my god we did it okay fantastic right

So check the loot oh my god our dragon has 14 health that ain’t good that is not good oh but this loot look at this pretty worth it a bow with unbreaking that’s our new bow a skeleton skull cause why not enchanted book of efficiency iron nuggets taffy

Well okay i feel like we absolutely conquered that castle but before we return what i want to do is make sure i have the means to feed my dragon because i really don’t want to have to lose this dragon at this stage it’s only on 10 health

Down from like 60 and to feed the dragon we’re gonna need fish so i think i’m probably gonna have to hire a fisherman very very quickly so ginger is working on the glass blowers huts but she doesn’t have granite slabs or granite stairs so that’s something that we could i think teach

The stonemasons granite slab granite stairs and fingers crossed chill make that what else do we need to do oh yeah and it looks like new key is still working on even more housing we’re gonna have loads and loads of housing capacity pretty soon oh yeah look at these bad boys

Coming up to level two very very very quickly so our number of citizens is fast approaching the golden number of 50 to get more than 50 we’re gonna need to do some level three research and there’s still so many roles we need to hire we

Need to hire a dyer we need a glass blower and we still need a shepherd so we are gonna need to up our capacity by quite a lot and here we go civilian outpost hamlet requires houses totaling at least five levels 128 stake that’s actually not too bad at all

So that has got to be the next research as soon as these are done but this is where we’re going to wrap this episode up this episode has been pretty freaking fantastic we took an exploration trip up to the nearby castles and oh my god i am

Fully decked out now in almost full diamond armor that’s pretty good and in the background a lot of buildings have been upgraded to level two and three what i’m gonna do is upgrade some of the more important buildings up to level three in the background because this is

Going to take hours and hours and hours otherwise but my goal is definitely to get every single building we have on the colony up to level three now if you can remember the material that my axe is made out of and you put that in the comment section i will heart your comment
