What’s up, guys? In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a texture pack in Minecraft. This should be quite an easy tutorial. For more information, click on the first link in the description below. First, let’s access your Minecraft app files. Search for %AppData% in your start menu search and hit enter. Your file explorer will open up. From ere, navigate to “.minecraft” and then go to “versions”. In the versions folder, you will see all the Minecraft versions installed on your PC since you started playing the game. Pick any version for which you want to create a texture pack. Copy the .jar file you see in the version folder and paste it to your desktop. Rename the file extension from “.jar” to “.zip”. Click “Yes” if you get any pop-up warning. Now proceed to extract this .zip file to your desktop. This process might take a minute and a half to complete. Once extracted, open the folder and delete everything except for the game “assets”. Once deleted, navigate to assets > minecraft > textures. Here, you will see the list of available textures in your Minecraft game. Pick any texture and proceed to edit it via a photo editor such as MS Paint or Photoshop. Right-click any texture, navigate to Open With, and choose Paint. Paint is a free tool and comes in-built with every Windows version. Do not stretch or expand any texture file, rather zoom into it using the zoom slider located in the lower right corner of your screen. Now, feel free to add your own texture patterns using the wide variety of completely free tools available in MS Paint. Once done, proceed to save the texture file. Our next step requires saving all these edited textures as a texture pack file. To do so, click on the version folder name located in the address bar of the File Explorer window. Right-click to open a drop-down menu and go to “New” and then select “Text Document”. Open the Text Document file, navigate to the File tab located in the upper left corner Of your screen, and select “Save As”. In the pop-up window, proceed to rename the file as “pack.mcmeta” and change the Save As Type to “All Files”. Now copy the following code provided in the video description below: { “pack”: { “pack_format”: 4, “description”: “Grayscale Pack” } } Right-click the “pack.mcmeta” file, navigate to “Open With”, and open the file via the Notepad++ application. If you don’t have this program installed on your PC, then you can download it from the link provided in the video description below. Now paste the copied code into the Notepad++ app and proceed to rename the description To anything you like before saving the file. When this is done, delete the Text Document file. Select the remaining two files, right-click to open a drop-down menu, and select “Compress to Zip File”. Now wait until your PC compresses the files. Once done, rename the file to “TexturePack” or anything else you’d like your new texture pack to be named. Lastly, copy this Texture Pack file and head back to your %AppData% folder. Under “.minecraft”, head to “resourcepacks”. Paste your TexturePack file in to this folder and make sure that Minecraft is not running In the background. You can then launch Minecraft and select your newly created texture pack in your own worlds or on game servers. These steps and more information will be available in my extensive guide linked in the description below. I hope this helped you out, leave a comment if you have any questions, and see you in the next one. Video Information
