I’m trying to build the three new animals in the 2023 Minecraft mvo out of Lego and then we’re going to simulate a battle to the death to predict which mob will win we’re going to use these pieces to build the crab the first mob revealed and the concept for the crab seems Pretty promising they live in mangrove swamps which is one of the newer biomes that doesn’t have a whole lot of life in it so it would be a good addition using these little wrench pieces as its legs so it’s got six of them on either side So I’m going to have just these two legs in the back two there they’re blue and orange very uh great colors for the beef three but we’ve got a jumper in the back to add its eyes on let’s just do that now actually got uh one of these Headlight kind of rear mirror bricks and a chees slope on top for a little bit of slope this is not going to be very blocky or very uh scale accurate but it’s going to you know look generally like the shape we’ll say yeah so these are the eyes they’re very big if you Want to get the scale later on the video I’m going to show a way to kind of do eyes without making them massive and blocky like that so stay tuned for that but we’ve got eyes on either side this piece has worked very well for that to like separate them in different Directions right there and even has like a little mouth there so you got that right now it just has like the six legs but we want to give it claws so I’m going to use a slightly illegal building technique for using these clip plates Here and this is the claw if you want it closed but if you want open you kind of have to like pry it open a little bit and so that connection is not legal it’s kind of just like hanging off the side there and then the other claw which is Bigger and I think it sheds it or something or you have to kill it to get the claws we’re going to add these cheese slops add a little bit more thickness to it so we’ve got one a both sides and then we’re going to use the legal building technique to kind of fry It open and there’s your little guy Lego actually makes their own crab pieces which are probably more scale accurate to like a Steve minifigure here we got the three legs on each side and the claw but you know we’ve only got two that’s fine what we can simulate though is it’s Shedding its claw and this big claw item is what is used and using this Crab Claw you can actually build further I think the the standard reach in the game is like three blocks or something but using it you can extend your reach and it doesn’t say how much if that’s one block Or two blocks or even three more blocks I don’t know that sounds pretty useful if if you’re doing a lot of building but the next mob was the armadillo and the item that comes with this mob has a lot of people excited it’s always nice having an excuse to build with these Classic 2×4 2×3 and I guess elbow bricks a lot of Lego these days is like so small pieces that you getting back to the good old days is is very nice we got a technic brick here Technic kind of scares me but this is this is not too Bad of Technic we’ve just got one Technic pin here that we can connect the tail to this is the best piece I could find for the tail even though it’s probably should be a little bit longer but whatever for the head we’re going to use these apply named headlight bricks To attach this little jumper guy on the front there so then we can Center this Derpy looking head on the front there so he’s got this ears kind of the snout and then the tip of his nose there and unlike the crab I couldn’t figure out a Way to get his eyes brick built cuz they’re kind of on the side of the head and I needed this one single piece to get this shape so I use this sticky white paper that I’ve used in a couple other videos before what you can do is Use a Sharpie to just color a little bit of eye detailing on like a sticker and then cut out your own sticker that you can stick to the pieces this way you don’t damage them by like directly using the Sharpie on the pieces this is not The greatest example cuz I just did it quickly for the video but you can put it on there and this is a better example of something I spent a little bit more time on off camera but we can continue to build up the sides here I really like This snot technique It lines up really nice at the top here got more classic 2×4 bricks love to see it top it off with this 4×4 plate and we’ve got it’s like a basically a big old Cube which we’re going to surround with all these tiles so this is what the snot bricks Are for we got kind of the big band in the front and then two smaller bands kind of to replicate this pattern that I saw in the video but it’s not perfect you know it has more bands in the video but this is the smallest detail we can Get with Lego without doing like more stickers I guess that’s possible but this snot rck is placed at the perfect spot so there’s a little bit of like lip here but it lines up perfectly at the top here look at that the height is the Exact same so that was kind of a little happy accident I tried the snot brick on the bottom layer the top layer and it works just perfectly in the middle so there you go you got your tiles all the way around no tiles on the back but you Don’t really need it cuz it has just like the three little rolls of armor that this guy has the legs are the same you just stack your brown plate on your medium nougat plate four different times and pop these bad boys on the four corners of the cube so I really like how Cubic this one ended up being this was my first attempt at it and I used like these very like stylized pieces that doesn’t look very minecrafty at all so I like this a lot better again the tail could be maybe a little bit longer but It is very not to scale with a player we’re just going to ignore that because the thing that it drops are these little scoots or SKS and I somehow you can craft these into armor for your dog so I don’t have a Minecraft dog cuz they’re Very expensive but I have this dog here and I have some horse armor so you can kind of Imagine like this is this is sort of what they’ll end up looking like you craft this into some armor I’m not sure how strong it’ll be they’re not very clear about the details there I Don’t know if it could survive a Creeper explosion or not but who doesn’t love dogs I’d love to see more breeds of dogs before dog armor but the armadillo is getting us one step closer to more dogs in Minecraft and last and sort of least is the Penguin this one makes me sad Because its implementation in the game means that it’s probably not going to get voted in but it’s a penguin like come on well even even if it doesn’t make it into the game we’ll always have the Lego version which I’m showing you to build right now we’ve got to got like Two different sections the one is the back side which is in black and there wasn’t really a tail shown in the video they kind of had flat backs but I’m giving it a tail just because it it doesn’t stand up with that one this is the backs side so we’ve got those three Bricks stacked on top of each other and then these three white bricks stacked on top of each other for the front with these little coral one by one plates for the feet I never really get to use those on the back we’re going to add these Little bars for the wings later on this guy in the middle and then to sandwich the front and back together we’re going to use some tiles and a jumper to attach the head later on but yeah These Bars can I guess move around a little bit Which might make it fun to pose the wings these they’re just like this one kind of tile with Clips on the side and these are not attached to anything but that’s fine because it can flap around and oh that’s so I didn’t actually do that when I was testing this you can Move it back and like kind of have it pose in all sorts of different ways that’s really cool got a massive Wings span the wings are kind of literally as tall as they are but for the head we’ve got this Travis brick that we’re going To pop on onto the jumper and build two of these assemblies for the I guess cheeks of the penguin like the two sides of his head it kind of has a wide flat head this was one of my prototypes when I was kind of Designing it and it’s very Like blocky and and too like thin so this like thicker like more flatter head is a lot more closer to what we see in the trailer and we get to put the beak on the front there look at that cheese slope just works perfectly for the red Color of the beak and I really like this color scheme with we’ll get the yellow in there pretty soon actually let’s do that now we got a plate on top of his head and then we’ve got these yellow grills for it’s like it’s a rock hopper Penguin based on that so we’ve got this little Frills on the top here and it looks so cool but one thing it is missing is eyes and I use the same trick as the armadillo where I cut out like the sticker paper and actually just made this head so let’s let’s switch these Heads out cuz I don’t want to do that on camera we got this head with the eyes we got the White and the black this time so it’s even more complicated but in the back here we’re going to put this plate with a little bar sticking out the front You don’t have to have this displayed full time you could probably put like another tile on the back here if you want it just plain but the cool thing about this is that you can take it off and it’ll have it swim look at at that It’s swimming in the water so much more graceful than on land you could probably even pose the wings like that oh look at that that’s so cool yeah these by far are my favorite like just mob in general but it also has kind of a use and it’s It’s supposed to like make your boat go faster it’s probably going to be like swing behind it hopefully it’s not just like dolphin’s Grace hopefully you can like get it in the boat with you I don’t know or else you’ll just push behind and it’ll make your boat go faster and That’s really all we know so it could make it go like a block per second faster or it could make it go like comparable to a light shs we don’t really know but what we do know is that these three are the options that we have To work with and I love how the general consensus is that everyone just wants all three like we don’t want to have to choose two to lose forever we want the crab arm to build better we want the dog armor and then we just want penguins in General whether they’re useful to us or not but that’s not how the mob vat works so I gave them weapons to fight to the death ready go the D brought his armored dog is backup and together they eated all the other mobs off the platform as the polls Predicted we have a win next the penguins are really graceful swimmers and crabs can climb sideways so the two of them teamed up and took down the Dow together and with all that heavy armor it and its dog sunk to the bottom of the ocean as they were celebrating the Clumsy penguin fell over and accidentally impaled the crap that’s right I’m voting penguin baby it needs all the help I can get but let me know who you’re voting for in the comments and you can watch me build last year’s candidates in this video here Video Information
