The Gamer Hobbit – Mods to bring the 1.20 Update into Minecraft

Today we have two mods that could bring some of the features from the 1.20 update into the game early. The One Twenty backport is currently the most comprehensive mod so far. Bamboo has been expanded with new uses, now serving as a new wood set to build with.

These include the works from stairs; and signs to doors and buttons. Additionally, bamboo now has a mosaic plank variant to craft, which also comes in stair, slab and pressure plate variants. Bamboo doesn’t include a typical boat to complement the other wood sets, but instead features a bamboo raft

Which helps to spice up the boat variety in the game. Books now have their own dedicated storage block: Chiseled bookshelves. Chiseled bookshelves can store up to six books at a time, be it regular books, book and quills or enchanted books. The amount of books stored in a chiseled bookshelf

Also affects its enchanting bonus for enchanting tables: The more books stored, the more enchanting bonus it yields. Though it doesn’t include hanging signs, camels or sniffers just yet, This is a good way to bring some of the 1.20 content into previous versions.

Even though the sniffer is the only mob that’s being added into 1.20 , Mob Vote 2022 is a good opportunity to bring all three mobs into the game. Starting with the sniffer, sniffers don’t spawn naturally, but instead must be hatched from their eggs, which can be found in underwater ruins.

With the eggs, the player can then hatch the sniffer on land. Once hatched, sniffers will occasionally dig the grass for seeds. Sniffers will additionally rest to regain their strength. Heading deep below ground is where players can encounter a rascal. Once spotted, rascals will hide from the player.

To partake in this mini-game, the player will have to move in the opposite direction, before the rascal will reveal itself. Repeating this three times will conclude the mini-game, with the rascal giving the player a randomly enchanted tool. Tuff golems are assembled with a block of any coloured wool, tuff and a carved pumpkin.

Similar to the allay, tuff golems can hold an item that’s given by the player, be it a singular item or a whole stack. If a tuff golem isn’t holding an item, it will turn into a statue. In its statue state, players can rotate the golem ninety degrees clockwise.

Any items nearby a tuff golem, will cause the golem to retrieve the item, even if it’s in its statue state. There’s a few issues with the mod, however, for those who want to bring the 2022 mob votes into the game, this mod is the one to get.
