The Complete Minecraft Armor Enchantments Guide
Armor can save your life many times in Minecraft. While regular diamond or netherite armor definitely makes you sturdier, with the proper enchantments, you can become pretty much invincible. Today, we’re going to be showing you all the best armor enchantments in Minecraft. This is the complete Minecraft armor enchantments guide.
Must-Have Armor Enchantments
First up, let’s talk about two of the most important enchantments you need on all your armor pieces: Unbreaking and Mending. Unbreaking comes in 3 levels and increases your armor’s base durability, while Mending comes in one and will regenerate your armor piece’s durability whenever you collect XP. These two enchantments are super useful. They make your armor pretty much unbreakable and will allow your armor to protect you for a much longer time. So make sure you add both Mending and Unbreaking 3 to all 4 pieces of your armor.
Protection Enchantments
After this, we have the protection/damage reduction enchantments. These can be put on every armor piece and each come in 4 levels: Protection, Projectile Protection, Fire Protection, and Blast Protection. Regular Protection will simply reduce your damage taken against all kinds of sources, except for hunger and the void. This means less damage against melee attacks, ranged attacks, fall damage, fire or lava, explosions, and more. Projectile Protection reduces your damage taken against ranged attacks specifically. Blast Protection reduces your damage against explosives, like TNT or wither skulls. And Fire Protection reduces your damage taken against fire and lava, and reduces the time spent burning. Regular Protection is the best option here as it can protect you in many more situations compared to the other 3. So we’re going to put the Protection 4 enchantment on all 4 of our armor pieces.
Thorns Enchantment
Next, we have the Thorns enchantment, which will cause enemies that damage you to also take some damage as well. This enchantment is extremely useful as you can pretty much just kill anything that attacks you, without having to lay a finger on them yourself. So we’re going to add the Thorns 3 enchantment to our helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.
Helmet, Leggings, and Boots Enchantments
After this, we’re getting into enchantments you can only put on specific pieces of armor. Helmet-only enchantments include Aqua Affinity and Respiration. Aqua Affinity allows you to mine underwater at the same speed as on the surface, while Respiration allows you to breathe underwater for longer without drowning. Leggings-only enchantment is Swift Sneak, which increases your speed when sneaking. Boots-only enchantments include Feather Falling, Frost Walker, Depth Strider, and Soul Speed. Feather Falling reduces the amount of fall damage that you take, Frost Walker temporarily freezes water into ice, Depth Strider makes you travel faster in water, and Soul Speed makes you travel faster on soul sand and soul soil blocks.
