Together the overall idea for this is still pretty rough but that at least gives me some sort of direction to work point for this project so let’s get into building the custom PC there’s a lot of food too I’m not going to be able to eat

All I ended up designing way too many different kinetic panels that could all be swapped out for each other since it’s a modular system on the front so I can just switch out different panels if I want a different look but I can’t really build 20 different designs for this

Project so I just need to pick my favorites and I’m going to make I don’t know what the fu guys talking about I’m going to be honest three different levels of difficulty starting with the easiest one first and working my way up losing parts of my sanity each time but

We need the rest of the case built before we get into what do you mean how do you do that so let’s make that really quick for the main body of the case I am just going to work my way around one panel at a time and the first step to

All of this is to cut down a sheet of quarter inch plywood into usable sizes and I definitely did not have any problems right off the bat so first up though is the side panel in my planned set off to the side and facing me not really prominent so I’m just

Going to give it a little bit of a subtle design I just took the hexagon pattern from the original case and used that to make some different design options on this one I originally thought that this panel and the other ones were going to have a wood finish for the main

Body in the case but I later decided on that I want to go with an all black case and still have wood accents on it since that main front panel that’s going to be moving is going to be mostly wood I just made these little cutouts on this panel

As well to give it a little bit of extra added depth on this side adding a little bit of depth could be really cool would you e rtick for $3 Behind these holes so that you get pockets of wood that can be sandwiched between this panel that I’m

Putting onto the case and the existing metal side of the computer I going to keep parts of that case I have thought about this a lot and I decided that I am just going to modify this original case how are you like sobed at home I can you

Biggest problem with this is he didn’t [ __ ] research when [ __ ] up computer like Smooth right now but that brush texture is just in there so I need to swap out two things to try and fix this the first thing is to use a different brush and the second thing is

To use a different paint finish but using a roll brush in combination with a better paint should hopefully solve my problems those changes helped immensely and although it’s still not perfect it well how B can you be to do all this one last test fit and it all looks great I

Didn’t actually even need to use any magnets or additional Fasteners to get this case I need a bigger desk oneid piece that it’s a very snug fit and on this side as well get new DES screws that are on the case I just slaughtered them into I’m living in a DM

And actually moving I’m kind of way out of my league on this one to be completely honest so we’re just going to start with the easiest design first to kind of dip our toes into all of this so for this first kinetic panel it’s Allure and I have some of the panels

That wi but for the actual design of it it’s meant to make stain glass rose windows but with an illusion to it that it gives this wild movement as these VL thank you s like Thursday or something but how do we actually build this let me go to the digital model and

The bottom so this is all joined together in one turning motion we need to be able to hold these center turning points for this from my PC oh my [ __ ] god so I designed a p thees through the center of these bearings for the wor I

Us to do attach back to a clear acrylic I used to use a [ __ ] like complicated attachment components on either side since I’m too lazy to go out and buy some twart epoxy which would have literally solved all my problems to attach this panel to the actual computer

Now I unfortunately have to use the existing screw holes asending to your stream a call in chat look a little bit goofy but that’s they work with every design that I have they all work as an offset stand for that front panel and that gives it something to hold on to

That it can also come off of when I want to switch a panel now that a lot of the design for this is done we start to fabricate the the rest of these parts and put this first panel together I’m focused mainly on making this case for

Aesthetics and what it can do to provide a calming element to the space I eventually want to create all of these main front panels are just meant to be somewhat of a physical extension of the feeling of my desktop wallpaper I’m always drawn to the animated wallpaper

These designs are made so that they can be powered by one single motor turning to make the coding side of this as easy as possible on me so I set out to make this one motor turn know any good coder would do I ripped multiple parts of

Different codes I found online and then jar them all into M to try and make this thing work and after a lot of confusion rewiring code errors more rewiring because I’m dumb I finally got it just look at it it is so underwhelming right

This is literally all I had to do but it just took me so long to track down all the tiny little problems that I was having to figure this out but this part’s finally done so let’s get into the actual first we need to take the tempered glass again being very careful

Because this is very easily breakable oh dear God we can store these two boards in the back of the case since I will need to be able to access them to plug in I thought the glass on your PC is not that easy easy way to power the Arduino

Off of the motherboard but just using another wall socket is a lot easier than trying to figure that out the back of the case also has these slots with metal covers on them that just come right out so we need to take one of these and

Because of how these gears are actually built I may have taken some less than ideal shortcuts in making them to kind of save on I’m licking the of the ranch just a problem for future it’s just fine tuning at this point now the second thing that is the actual filter that’s behind here
