Ultimate Pillager Outpost Watchtower Build!

Hello this is a block by block tutorial on how to build a pillager outpost in minecraft if you haven’t seen one of these before it’s from the latest snapshot of minecraft and we’re going to build this block by block and easy to follow tutorial step by step let me take

You quickly very quickly round the build first of all welcome to the video my name is andy and this is a pillager’s outpost a pretty special thing to find in minecraft right here gonna jump up on there we have a little uh i don’t know a lower base here a pretty cool little

Staircase up place to shoot out and see your enemies i guess this is an outpost really the watchtower the pillagers watched her there’s another staircase right here and we can climb up it’s quite dark and spooky in here there’s no light coming in but then through here

And up and out we are at the top and there’s a a chest and if you spawn one of these or find one of these there is plenty of loot in that chest take my word for it pretty cool design it is from mojang you might want to build it

In your own world so you maybe transform it or maybe it’s not quite in the right place anyway this is a tutorial on how to build it block by block starting with these ingredients right here so into your hot bar claim some cobblestone you’re going to need some dark oak wood

Birch wood planks how many of these ingredients i’ll put on the screen right now i’ll also put a link in the description and how you can get a full list of all the ingredients and pictures of each of these layers okay next we’re gonna need a dark wood slab

Cobblestone stairs you’re gonna need a dark oak fence dark oak wood stairs dark oak wood planks and we’ll also grab some cobblestone coming back later for a wall a chest some torches and a banner now this is not the proper pillager vanner this is the proper pillow dravana

But this is as close as i could get with my newbie banner work maybe you can find a link and put it in the comments and um we’ll all know how to do the proper pillager banner from the outpost it goes it goes on the side anyway we’ll show

You where that goes next right so what you want to do with your cobblestone first of all is count along starting here one two three four five six seven eight nine like that come in by one block on either end and then we’re going to turn the corner

And go for another nine blocks one two three four ah we’re going to miss that one out in the middle so that’s five six seven eight nine turn the corner like that another nine one two three four five six seven eight nine a block there one two three four

Five six seven eight nine cool always going to be from this side we have a look take our time dark oak wood this time oops this way up two three four five six seven eight like that there we go and then we’re going to take some birch wood planks and

All we’ve got to do is fill in all the little gaps here with some birch wood planks try not to make any mistakes especially in survival it’s very annoying making mistakes anyway let’s just place these little birch planks absolutely everywhere this forms the floor probably the most blocks in the build

Are always at the base this is where you really could have use up as many of your resources as you can to make a good sturdy base in any build all right boom boom boom not you you you you and you great okay so coming back to

This side that is level one there complete just gonna take a little screenshot there and that’s going to form my little uh off-screen builders guide okay we can come up another level up to level two this time so it looks like we’ve got some more dark oak to put around here

That’s easy oh one more to do more cobblestone uh around here the cobblestone simply going on top of the previous blocks of cobblestone excellent pretty good right now we want some oak wood slabs so i’m always going to be this is where my my list of ingredients

Is i’m always going to be kind of referencing this side so call this i don’t know side a on side a you want to put five upper dark oak slabs along that uh that wall right there so the door’s gonna be over there but that wall is gonna be

Just there okay next we’re gonna go for cobblestone stairs they’re gonna go right here a lump of cobblestone there and then birch there so you can see exactly where that goes in the corner excellent okay that is level two complete let’s move on up to level three pretty straightforward start

Again with the dark oak just coming up again the cobblestone again pretty straightforward simply coming up another level but this is where you want to make one in the middle and then one either side let me show you over here we’re going to have one cobblestone in the middle there and one

Either side again i’ll show you on this bit here one in the middle one either side that one in the middle doesn’t exist because it’s a doorway but one either side and then you’ve just got to fill in the corners so here’s a corner here one two three four five

One two three four oops four five there we go um cool oh i’ve missed out one of the woods the dark coat woods from right there and we’ve got another couple of blocks to do we’ve got stair block to put here and cobblestone to put there and that is

Level three coming back to side a our little reference point that is level three complete i’ll take a little screenshot there i think i forgot to take a screenshot of level two never mind i’ll go back and do that later on okay so the next level up aha

Okay so i think we’ll start this time with some dark oak fences and as you can see they go on these little diagonals here like that we’ve also got some slabs to put on top of the dark oak logs on the outside as you can see here

We’ve got some cobblestone to put here on the diagonals so we’ll put these in as well cobblestone on the diagonals and then it’s just simply a question of putting these blocks in so one two three four five six seven seven blocks of cobblestone along the straight bits here

Like this oh forgot this corner there we go one two three four five six seven and i forgot this slab as well i’m just not finishing off what i’m starting there we go slab slab cobblestone goes here two three four five six seven that forms a little doorway there there’s no door

In it though i forgot these as well i’m just forgetting one side of the build each time it seems last bit of cobblestone to do two three four five six seven there we go very good progress so far so coming back around we’re back around the side a if i

Just take you around here you can see exactly what is going on these little windows in the bottom layer pretty cool little watch tower pillagers watch tower here we go with the stairs we’ve got another cobblestone stair and another cobblestone block just there now what you can see on the inside

We have to do is we have to grab some dark oak wood stairs and as you can see they go like this and like that pretty straightforward one let’s come over here make sure we get this right two one two and remember the fourth side this time

Like that there we go excellent right coming back around the side a kind of our reference side let’s take a quick peek inside yep that’s all going correctly excellent right now we can move on to the next level up which has let’s where should we start let’s start with these dark oak wood

Slabs so five of these on each of the faces one two three four five one two three four five one two three four five brilliant um as you can see cobblestones in the corner pretty straightforward level this one and the rest of it is filled up simply with

Dark oak wood planks one two three four five one two three four five one two three four five one two three four five there we go um and here we can put down a stair you know one of the reasons i’m building this and a cobblestone block one of the

Reasons i’m building this is so we can transform it so i was going to do a transformation video and i thought no wait a minute people might not have this may not have the snapshot might have access to it might not be able to build the pillagers outpost watchtower um so

Let’s build it first do a tutorial and then we can transform it what do you think we should transform into and how do you think we should transform it get involved in the comments i will put your ideas into practice so the next layer up is this layer here slightly more

Complicated as you see we’ll just cherry pick the easy jobs first of all so i think um some dark oak woods in the corner and a nice easy job just to starts off there we go easy job right there we’ve also got this nice easy job of dark oak wood planks

In these little corner sections here very straightforward so far there we go i’m also going to put down some of these birch planks these are going to go here and here two three four five six seven makes eight in total and as you can see we can fill in all

These birch planks leaving some space for the staircase talking a staircase got one more cobblestone to put on there so yeah we need to fill in these blocks here brilliant i love it that was kind of easy that was kind of easy right on the outside here what we’re going to do

Is um we need to put we need to put this block in hmm this is a dark oak log so what i’m gonna do is put a temporary block there and then put that one in oh i’m not even holding a log there we go

Log there we go so that log is in there this one should be easy to put in log log log there we go so you can see that log just sticks through like that you can see it from the outside which brings us on to these cobblestone stairs

And the cobblestone slab and that finishes off this level nice well it wasn’t the easiest level so far actually to be honest you may have to go back and see this one once or twice we’ll have a good look at the stairs just now so you make sure you

Get the gap in the right place as well before we move on from this level what level is this anyway one two three four five this is the sixth the sixth level um so let’s have a look at the stairs stairs should look exactly like this

You’ve got one two three four stairs the turning one and then the one at the bottom as well so there we go let’s get back around to our reference side which is right here and we’ll move up one level here we go this level’s easy this level

Is easy remember this one so this is just simply dark oak wood in the corners we’ve also got some of these uh dark oak wood planks joining onto the corners like that and the rest of it is just taken up with the stairs the staircase is right here

And as you can see we’ve got some birch planks right there some cobblestone stairs there and a cobblestone block right there pretty straightforward okay up we go next level ah really really easy so we’re just going up here with oak in the corner couldn’t be simpler this one and then

Planks joining onto the corners and again the stair comes up by one as well there we go easy very very easy okay great up again this level here as you can see again these dark oak woods come up in the corner dark oak wood here and here here here

That’s the corners done our planks come up and come in by one as well planks up and in up in three four leaving that little gap in the middle which is going to be probably you can see it already is going to be a little dark oak wood slab what i

Like about this build is this is so few ingredients used just so few just like nine or ten maybe 11 ingredients used pretty fancy banners yeah i haven’t quite worked out how to do the banners i kept running into the problem where um yeah it was a bit of a problem because

The banners didn’t seem to want to take as many layers as i wanted to add in we’ve got one more cobblestone stair to do right here ah we need to get this in the right place we’re gonna put some temporary blocks here so i can get this cobblestone stair boom right there

Excellent so that’s pretty much finished that level there there is that block there which i’m a bit suspicious of i’m just going to pause the video and check out if that’s a mistake or not yeah that’s just the mistake i didn’t mean to place that block there um i’ve

Got this special mod here which shows me the layers i built it first and then the mod turns into the layers and that lets us do the tutorial but that’s just the mistake it’s our sticker the mega okay so the next level up um i don’t know

What level is this is eight or something one two three four five six seven eight nine wow this is the tenth level already again we’ve got more awkward woods in the corner dark oak woods in the corner like that and we’ve got some more planks they’re coming in by two each time

And you can see the rest of this is pretty much just birch wood planks you need to leave a little bit of space for the the stair you can see exactly hopefully how much space we need to lay uh leave there for the staircase so here we can put in

Our birch wood planks uh that’s a mistake one two three one two three one two three yep just filling in all this space some nice birch wood planks so how much space have we got for this we’ve got one two three four blocks here one two three floor that’s how much we

Need for the staircase of course add the staircase in um that’s going to have to be placed right there and we’ve got this block here to place as well a dark oak wood right in the middles to complete i think it’s the 11th layer like that excellent okay great

So up again we go uh what have we got this thing right we’ve got some uh we’ve got some more of these dark oak woods in the corner we’ve been starting with this we may as well continue dark oak woods in the corner we go excellent right um some more planks come

Up one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12. which reminds me thanks very much for watching i’m going to put some temporary blocks here temporary blocks here um just so what i can do is i can put these dark coat woods facing outside just by

Clicking on those temporary blocks there that come up pink i’m going to remove those pink blocks in a second so i’ll just remove these blocks which are wrong and we’re going to just have a little pause and have a look at the outside so far i know this is very useful we’ve

Done quite a lot in just a few minutes times i’m just going to take a little revolution around this watch tower so you can see if you’ve made any mistakes yourself okay there we go again click the link in the description that’ll take you to a page where i’ve

Got screenshots of all the levels that we’ve done in this build i forgot to make the screenshots as we were building as you probably noticed but i’ll do that afterwards right we’ve got some stair stairs to put in now oops stairs go there so where do they go

Remember this is where the door is on that side this was my reference side a this is where the staircase came up and get rid of you okay okay let’s see where we’ve got to so far yeah let’s go up another level not too much to do

Left in this place okay so we’re going for some cobblestone stairs in the corners this time like that um some planks dark oak wood planks another one of these awkward blocks to place plank plank plank plank and then some more cobblestone stairs gonna go yeah these kind of stuff you know these

Stairs are actually floating in mid-air um which is a little bit annoying i don’t know why they didn’t see down here as well they float in mid there i don’t know why didn’t they just do that and that would look so much better maybe it doesn’t look so

Good from the outside i think it looks better anyway who’s to argue with the way mojang builds i mean i’m not going to argue i’m not going to argue i’m going to play some temporary blocks here i think you know why think you know why it’s for this awkward one boom makes

A nice pattern on the outside i know i thought doing that actually really cool what more jan comes up with now we can get rid of our temps kaboom there we are uh right over here where’s our little reference side this is our reference side here this is where

We always start we always start on this side we can go up another level i think yeah this level a little bit trickier a little bit trickier this level as you can see hmm i think one of the key blocks is this this cobblestone corner block i think if we get that done

That’s going to be it’s going to make it a little bit easier so this is um so this block is going to go here as you can see so if i just actually put these corners in i’ll quickly take away the layering mod i’ve got here and show you where these corner blocks

Go so if i just go back down again so you can see exactly where these corner blocks are actually going to go on that level as you can see yeah and if we just put the layering system back in all you’ve got to do is join up your corners like this

Um in fact what i’m going to do is just take away it’s a little bit confusing sometimes to have that in them i’m going to take away that so you can just see we just join up the corners like this and you end up with this uh big square

Here so the square should be one two three four five six seven eight nine should be a nine a nine by nine square okay so onto the corners of this square kind of the corners we’re going to put block block block block block block block block and again i’ll show you exactly what

That looks like without my mod getting in the way this is the stage you should be at right now okay background to start again so what we can do here as you can see we need some of these dark oak wood stairs and these are going to go just inside

Here just inside our our blocks let me take away things so you can see exactly what i’m doing so just inside here here here here we’ve got them done okay then we’re going to switch over to dark oak wood slabs and you can see exactly where these go these go one

And two just there again i’ll take away the mod so we can see very very clearly probably the most complicated stage in the whole build right there and there all right excellent and let’s put the mod back in because we can tell us it tells us we’ve got these simple

Cobblestone stairs one two three one two three one two three one two three there we go and obviously we’ve got another one of these um staircase blocks to do as well then we’ve got cobblestone cobblestone stairs great okay background to the reference side here side a i’m

Calling it and we can go up another level we’ll see how complicated this is it’s a lot of blocks isn’t there there’s a lot of blocks i guess again really the most the key block to get is this cobblestone one uh here if we get that block done i

Think that’s going to be absolutely key to get right so i’m going to put these temporary blocks on here you can see between the slabs and then the cobblestone one goes on top temporary block there cobblestone one on top like that and again i’ll take away the mod so you can see exactly

Where these are sitting there we are okay let’s put the mod back in and we’ll see how this you can see how this fits in so one of the easiest jobs i think to do would be to put in the birch wood planks first of all these simply go between

Your carefully placed cobblestone blocks a great thing to build this the out that something new from coming in minecraft 1.14 what what great fun to build this okay so what we need to do is not fall through the build is just uh add in all the planks here

Now obviously we’ve got a bit of space for the walls sorry the staircase as well so i’ll show you that very clearly in a minute don’t worry so let’s have a look at the staircase again come around to this point here so you can see exactly where that goes again

For the staircase you’ve got these um four blocks really four blocks that are marking at the staircase itself and of course you’ve got this staircase block itself to put in let’s put in the rest of the floor and then we’ll have a good look make sure we get the staircase perfect

There we go um can’t say anything a bit you know what can we say uh they’ve got three blocks there you’ve got one two four blocks there the reference side is over there um i’m gonna put in one more staircase temporary block staircase get rid of our temporary block

And we’re good to go i think for um the rest of this level so you can take away what it should look like on your screen so far that’s what it should look like so far what else have we got to do so ah so we’ve got these blocks here so we’ve got

Dark oak woods sticking out the corners here just in one from the cobblestone like that and then we can just join up here like that and then we can go around here and join up here go around here and join join like that brilliant okay well i think that’s that level complete

Yeah background to our reference side side a that is that level complete let’s just swing the camera around slowly see exactly what this looks like under there already excellent okay ready and good to go to finish this tower off so for our next level as you can see we need some cobblestone walls

We need some chests as well so i’m gonna put some of this stuff down so i’m gonna grab a cobblestone wall gonna grab a chest as well make sure you’ve got plenty of dark oak fences as well we’re gonna start right in the corners with these cobblestone walls there we go

And then as you can see it’s dark oak pence posts right here so i’ve got five of these to put in a little gap in the middle one two three four five i’d fight dry field i can’t remember one two three four five one two three four five there we go

Uh what’s next watch next what’s next as you can see the glowing blocks are what’s next we’ve got dark oak woods to put in so you can see it’s um it’s not there it’s just one in from the corner so imagine that was there you put that there as you can see

Where it is in relation to the staircase as well it’s gonna give away there and then if you want this to be super accurate put a chest right there obviously got one more put just there not there one in one diagonal block in from that corner great level complete

Moving on up i think the next one’s pretty straightforward actually yes look this couldn’t be easier we’re just going to go one boom boom boom um cops on wall two three four that was the easiest level ever unbelievable right next we’ve got this one right okay so this is a little

Strange um so i’ve got dark oaks here okay this is easy and as you can see we’ve got some planks to put in as well like that planks okay one two three four five take away that one same over here one one two three four weirdly

Honestly this is how they have it this is how mojang have it isn’t that strange they’ve got one and two for some reason they’re missing on that one why would you have such a perfect build and then suddenly suddenly have these missing i don’t know what they were playing at anyway that is

What spawned when i spawned in one of these using a structure block you just never can tell these days right so what’s left just three levels just three levels to go so the next level here we’ve got torches so let’s go and grab a torch to put in torches in the corner

Is a nice easy start and then really we’re just making um four by four planks with one block missing yeah one block missing so it’s four by four with one block missing and that block is going to be the torch so that’s one corner done there let’s get the other ones done

Can just do that one two three four five six seven so it looks exactly how you’ll have it one two three four five six seven one two three four five six seven one two three four five six seven like that so there we go so what we’ve got

Left to do right so this block here goes in the corner like that and what i think i’ll do is i’ll just fill in everything and cut this out shall i do it like that yeah i think that’s going to be a good way of doing

It so i’m just going to fill this whole thing in here and my mod will show you show me exactly which blocks are not right oops okay so that’s that’s what we’ve got to cut out in the middle cut out your middle block okay cut out the blocks around it to

Make a little three by three and then we’ve got these ones as well it makes this beautiful little shape in the roof and we are nearly finished nearly finished our pillagers outpost just got a little uh cap to put on the top so we’ll start with these fives here

Pretty straightforward one two three four five one two three four five as you can see exactly hopefully where that is one two three four five pretty straightforward where does it go one two three four five if you like start with the middle one and just add two on
