VAULT HUNTERS RETURN! Episode 20 – Modded Minecraft

Oh my goodness it feels good to be back look at this just off the spell Corp International train here I’m finally home I’ve been away you know been doing my duties at the spell Corp industrial complex and doing lots of other things oh creeper hi Lots has been going on but

We’re back it’s time for some more Vault Hunters there’s lots that’s new oh this little Shack remember this good old time we had here yeah I don’t like that place either oh man look at this everything’s here still okay okay let’s take a little lap around and then let’s talk about what’s

Here okay we got lots of new stuff to talk about today uh what are these chests you might ask well um as the executive owner of this company I basically uh I hired some contractors to come out and investigate the lag in the area and uh they found nothing they didn’t

Find anything so far they couldn’t figure it out but they did suggest maybe I try removing some of this stuff for now um just to see if it made a difference it hasn’t really helped so so I’ll probably just end up putting it back but that’s okay all right well yeah

It has been a while since we’ve been at Vault Hunters I’m sorry for the delay but there’s been Lots been going on behind the scenes and things for me so it’s uh it’s finally time we get back and there’s uh there’s a couple new updates actually lots lots of stuff that

I I probably won’t be able to cover it all today so we’ll probably just see it as we play through but what’s this nothing here okay well oh that reminds me one thing one of the most important things that I find really exciting is they’ve changed Jewels quite

A bit they’ve changed how how you chip them and also the sizes of them so these 71 size Jewels I don’t think we’ll ever see those again you see next to it it says sizes 10 to 35 so 35 is the new maximum for Jewel sizes which means we

Should get a lot more viable Jewels which I’m very very excited for I’m kind of just itching today to run a vault almost immediately but but let’s just take a look and see if there’s anything different that we notice immediately um we might have talked about this last

Time but this looting category is different now you get the first pouch for free and then you have to unlock double pouches so we have that but that means we need to upgrade the stack upgrades to get the next tier of those because in our current pouches we have

Stack upgrade tier 2s if we get stack upgrading we can actually make the tier 3es which are pretty cheap aside from the pogs I guess but we can make we can make like two of those so that would be cool to try to get I think some of the

Loot tables have changed maybe as well I don’t know I’ll have to reconfigure everything kind of as we go we’re level 38 right now we have one expertise Point uh what was I do I think last time I was saving this for like infuser or unbreakable or

Something yeah you know what we’re going to get forus finesse I want legendaries I made you guys wait months for me to make that decision and it completely changed it at the final second look at me I’m real good at this aha our one artifact that we do have

Here this is actually useful now I think they added the end game sort of stuff to this where you can fight a final boss if you collect all the artifacts and do like a final Vault we are nowhere near close that and I I don’t know how long

It’ll take me to get there but that’s at least cool that it’s in the game now oh create labs the first create Labs you know we have the new one over at the industrial complex now but this is the original did I miss this wow this place is laggy maybe this is

The source of all our lag I don’t know the the contractor said they went through and they removed all this lava temporarily and tons of the refined storage stuff and drawers to try to test it but nothing really improved so I don’t know it’s all good power still

Flowing some of this got cleaned up in the meantime Farms still going out there this isn’t hooked up for right now disabled it because it kept pumping tons of stuff in oh yeah wow I missed this place it’s good we got a lot going here this is nice oh

Uh a tree farm that I started apparently I don’t even oh this is where this is where I finally decided that I had to go to the industrial complex after they hounded me for a long time okay well maybe we can come back to that later but

I’m thinking it’s time we let’s just run a vault it’s been so long that’s half the fun right what are some of our quests item submission I don’t really like any of these oh echo or M Alexandrite oh that’s not very good though now before we get started running

The Vault there is one thing that we have to address finally okay well as we discussed in previous episodes the progression of Vault Hunters as is is quite slow at least for me with the limited time I get to play in things it’s it’s pretty tedious to

Gather materials so I asked some of you and you provided some input as to if uh if maybe I should change the loot the Looting amount or I should stream the series and things and I think what I am going to do is I think I’m going to

Change the loot amount I think we’re going to make it two times for now we can change it if it feels too much or too little or whatever I I like I’ll make the executive call to just do that and then I do want to start streaming Vault Hunters here so sometime after

This episode comes out I’ll finalize the date for the first stream and then in the Stream we can at least accomplish a lot more and keep the progression going and then the streams can probably get chopped up and thrown onto YouTube here so that’ll be good but we do have to do

The thing that I want what is it called here game rule the what is it Vault Vault loot so normal extreme and plenty I think plenty is this two times let me just confirm that quick okay yes it looks like that Vault loot is set to plenty so that’s perfect

Okay let’s gather let’s get everything we need together for the vault and uh got a crystal going here oh our vial is different now pacifist vial passively restores charges well inside a vault and I do believe actually that there’s different vials now there’s the pacifist slaughterers kill Vault mobs to restore

Charges and the Goblin vial loot Vault chest to restore charges oh I kind of like the sound of that Goblin vial let’s do that one instead new vial sweet what are we looking at today for our resources let’s see some diorite kelp iron and rabbit that’s pretty easy we

Can do that easy peasy okay diorite Iron Rabbit kelp completed just like that okay it’s just about that time I’m kind of scared I’m kind of nervous here oh man haven’t done a vault in a long time what if I what if I mess it

Up we’re going in I open the vault okay let’s see let’s see what are we how’s this going to go could be good it could be bad I’m very excited to see how the plentiful loot turns out okay no modifiers on it it is a scav vault my

Least favorite the frame rate is so much better in here so immediately there is something we notice while I’m standing here in this very first room the timer does not go down which means I can wait and let the Vault load a little bit which I think I’m

Going to do because I don’t want to get lagged out in here but look at this yeah I can just walk around in here oh can I cheat a little and see what’s in there um not really I don’t see I don’t see much past that okay let me just wait a

Second okay I think we’re probably good so what do we need here we need black mob bin which comes from mobs empty jars from ornate and skeleton bone shards from mining okay we are going to go for the completion I think and it is oh I’m already forgetting how vaults work it is

South facing so we’ll have to head north to leave look at this place okay we got some wooden chest I get up here okay we’re oh wow okay little bit Rusty it’s fine just a little bit but orates already oh look at that one empty jar easy

Oh and we have this great legendary sword right that just kind of crushes things that’s good he we’re going to destroy lots of stuff um yeah I feel so scattered already I just don’t remember what I’m doing so you’re going to have to bear with the Panic there’s a hand in in the

Very first room that’s nice I don’t really need wooden chests I guess but I do like what’s different about these inscription pieces okay kind of the same just cuz I think the loot pools are slightly different it’s nice to get an idea of what’s in these maybe I take some

Screenshots actually and I can go based off that actually I can I can just read the config later uh I’m just worrying about I’ll probably have to reconfigure my bags for the different loot tables and things assuming they’ve changed enough for it to really matter but that is something to think about at

Some different ones I think Smite looks really cool I’ve seen some people playing around with like the Smite archin archon AR on archin I don’t know that build looks really fun where things touch you and they just basically Get Zapped and die feels good and I think the javelin that I have

At least takes damage based off my sword’s damage doesn’t it so we deal even more oops oh that’s still that’s still an issue that the slime take poison damage from their own poison good what did I what do I need so far uh empty jars we have one bone shards we

Got one black mob Essence we have all three sweet okay on to the next room oh there’s a lot of guys that’s fine we can handle it right oh big javelin oh these javelins are so big I’m out of Mana yeah we need to consider rebuilding some of this stuff cuz we’re just

Burning through it all the Mana that is dungeon here difficulty impossible no not doing it no way no way I don’t want to be that guy who comes back and dies on his very first Vault back that would be embarrassing lots and lots of wooden chests but I’m doing the classic where I

Say I’m going to skip rooms and then and then I just get greedy and want to loot every single thing I can more ore that’s good we do need this oh please go away slimes I don’t like your poison what about that we have gotten one Wishbone o some living

Chests we are still looking for ornate another handen lots of those around oh gilded chest maybe we’ll get some good jewels and we can check out those new Jewel changes that’ll be very nice oh no I want to go up whoops okay that’s fine oh is that a

Thing an alter thing there’s nothing here okay huh interesting I for sure thought there’d be something there why didn’t my stone fall work more gilded chests even more gilded now watch this oh yeah easy kills that’s like free oh another dungeon there what could that be open for a difficulty that’s maybe

Doable and something with ornate chests would be nice extreme I check what’s in there the living chests I greed these a little bit Ah we’re not doing it I don’t want to gamble it keep holding On oh no please please please go [Applause] away um another another alter thing with no with nobody there is that is that different are the Alters different we are starting to take a lot of damage I got to I got to be careful I’m playing crazy 14 minutes

Those fundamental focuses four of them oh wow okay that’s a lot that’s really good we just about 5 minutes left and I still haven’t found any or POI since so that’s good o gilded I do like gilded though I I want Jewels oh that’s a baby fat zombie we

Room I think and then we are out of here oh a champion some leggings from that guy o there’s a handon right in here too but I I saw some living chests in a a different room so maybe I want to run and grab those nothing else here okay I want to

Go south one to find those living chests and I think there’s a hand in in there if there’s no hand in in here there is a hand in in the mine room but I thought I saw something in here so there is a hand in where’s those living chests um up top

Maybe maybe it wasn’t this room maybe it was a different room entirely okay we’re going to deal with these mobs and then we can hand in there are so many they just keep funneling in okay what do we need you you you um kiwis just in case oh there’s some living chests

Okay fine we’ll hand in we will hand in and then I’m immediately going down here to grab loot give me the loot where’s more more loot please I’m going the wrong way where’s all the loot one more give me the chest yeah oh I don’t know if we got it I don’t know

Okay 169 chest looted 252 mobs killed 93,000 XP oh my goodness okay look at that 33 ornate ores mine things like that I didn’t take a bounty whoops we leveled up a couple times okay let’s go back home let’s check all this out let’s

Check out the new loot and I just saw we completed a quest which means there’s new quests and I should check those too as for Quest okay there are a couple new quests uh that we see here Vault level 40 we’ll complete that dungeons open a dungeon door we’ll complete that got a

Pog for that wow Gods plunderers Pearl Alchemy cable check this out momentary we got loot to get through okay it is time to go through some of our loot so first off let’s check out our blue pouch this is the one with some ores not too many the scavenger stuff which we can

Get rid of but what’s this in our inventory okay we got four fundamental focuses that’s kind of crazy I guess level 30 plus we find them in ornate chests nice we got some unidentified rare plus Vault leggings we got a sour orange adds a whole minute to the Vault

Timer that’s crazy a Pog which is really good in our crate okay check our main pouch here uh lots of stuff seven mod boxes 23 Relic boosters 56 Vault diamonds 162 knowledge Essence oh man yeah that’s pretty good um I don’t know because it was a scavenger Vault I feel like I didn’t

Focus tons and tons on looting but that’s pretty good haul for some resources and uh this red pouch is full okay wow lots of focuses bunch of jewels okay we’ll go through those we’ll look through those but I’m going to open these first 23 and we got one Relic how many

Relics sets the minor Relic we just have two from the minor Relic okay another day where we haven’t completed another Relic set mod boxes are I’m pretty sure quite buffed I think these are supposed to be really good now um let’s see speed upgrade stack upgrade that’s expensive that’s a pog

Framed drawer control a framed drawer controller that’s really nice it’s another POG frame compacting drawer a disc drive also pretty good we could add that to our computer gearbox nice yeah that’s pretty good that’s some decent stuff from that very cool why do these these drawers keep unlocking and I don’t know

Why they keep unlocking and stuff keeps filling them that’s not supposed to happen lock lock lock lock lock lock that’s like the second time I’ve had to fix that oh and this is in here too are some of these faceted focus is broken so this one guarantees Thorn’s

Damage but this one just says guaranteeing a modifier of a specific type do I have to do something to it same with this one they don’t tell me exactly what they’re supposed to do weird weird weird weird oh boy four Vault Platinum from our crate okay I have a lot of va

Platinum now some more jewels and things tons of gear okay I got lots to I got lots to go through another mod Box 16k Storage disc nice we could use that for extra storage here cool look at all the gear we got from that one Vault

That is awesome this is so good okay so I’m going to have to roll a bunch of this I’m going to go with all the uh I don’t know we’ll do them by item type I guess I’m going to go through these if there’s anything good

I’ll show you guys if they’re not good they’re getting scrapped so this sword could be interesting it’s got quite a bit of damage that’s a pretty good amount what is that that’s 35 and a half ah our still does our still does like what 13 more so I don’t

Know but maybe we could add something to it let’s let’s just try it let’s just try um adding a new random modifier arthropod damage it’s getting scrapped oh these leggings look like they could be kind of fun 10 armor bit more durability 20 ability power now ability power is going to be

Very important if I want to swap over to a Smite based build trap disarm item Rarity yeah maybe we’ll play around with that and see what we can kind of get oh D look at that um 23% item Rarity oh man that might be worth wearing for like one

Vault and then we get we upgrade it soon after cuz it’s not the stats aren’t great the armor is pretty low oh but that’s suffix is really nice I kind of want to just oh it’s a chest huh durability is pretty low I kind of

Want to rock this just once just to try it we’re going to we’re going to keep that for a moment and then this one um Soul bound’s nice armor is nice could play around what do we want to try to this one is there anything we can try

Um we could use a fundamental maybe to try to get something better on the fundamentals okay well that’s whatever uh what about this one this I want to roll everything oh can we get rid of trap disarm no armor Health Mana regen trap disarm those are pretty good those are pretty

Good 12 armor extra Mana regen we do lose a bit of Health but I mean Health’s fine for for everything else okay yeah you know what we’ll try these why not there anything fun in here that we could buy ooh wooden oh a wooden Catalyst we will don’t mind if

I do I like having more of those or was I keeping those for now in there Sweet Jewels and inscriptions now we’ll go through the inscriptions quick cuz that’s pretty fast um 8% 3% stability that’s a nice one a little bit of time 11% and half instability also not bad but look at

This a minute 26 16% completion 6.6 instability one Library room now I think the library is the one that has gilded chests I’d have to confirm but I think it has gilded chest so if we were to make something out of this and then fill it with do we have like

Any gilded ones of these probably um probably gilded uh I don’t know I’m adding these back in the computer I’m sick of this but yeah we could use this Library room inscription you get a really big library that has well it would be the same size but it would have tons and

Tons of gilded chests if we could pump it full of them so that might be fun to to give a try Okay the big thing I was looking forward to some Jewels here let’s take a look at these jewels and see what we kind of got okay 19 size 21 size 32 size

Living Affinity look at those those are all viable like I could use all of those on most tools and that’s fantastic fantastic now the one thing that’s different that we’ll talk about is this the Jeweler ability is different okay gain the ability to cut Jewels without affecting their grade so at level three

Which I have I get one two three cuts and I don’t know how this works Your Jeweler expertise gives you three free Cuts retaining its current grade so I can’t cut this one because it’s a chip Jewel which I guess is the lowest so something like a flawed Jewel

Though cut the jewel down in size making it chipped this will make it lose a random AIX so why can’t I do it oh wait does it take Vault gold oh interesting interesting interesting so if I put Vault gold in here we can do it takes one Vault gold

So this one for example I mean we’re not going to do it cuz this we won’t cut this one cuz this is pretty good item quantity and ornate Affinity but if I cut it it’ll make it chipped and I will lose one of the things so it’s

Guaranteed to lose it right but my Jeweler expertise gives me three free Cuts retaining its current grade so does that mean if I do it we get to cut the size down anyways so I could do this three times get it down to size 14 and it’s even more viable it’s expensive it

Is certainly more expensive to do it this way with the Vault gold but that makes these so much more useful and a little less RNG dependent so that is that’s awesome so something like this 19 size living Affinity I could probably get that cut down to a size 10 really

Easily that is super cool okay I’m going to go through these though coin affinity and Mining speed size 11 that’s nice so this one I could cut it down to 10 basically guarante like or cut it down to size 10 guaranteed it’s probably not worth it but picking axing copiously

Copiously a 12 size mining speed I could get get that down to 10 16 size or like immediately these Jewels are so much better than anything we used to be able to get so this is a huge change we’ll be able to make way better tools and in

Fact do I have a new tier unlocked what do I have a chromatic steel is that the ne what oh that’s volite so I could use volite to make the next tier if I wanted to but for now we’re okay for now I think we’re fine but lots of good stuff in the

Horizon that means lots of these Jewels are just too big now to even cut them down and they’ll just get tossed I think but fantastic lots of this stuff very cool okay let’s look through these quests a little bit and see if we can uh get some of the alchemy table the first

One it’s a very useful table allows you to modify your Vault potions add a secondary effect to your charges acquire an alchemy table okay alchemy table uh it’s going to add to the pile of tables here and we’ve completed it get some stuff what happens

If I put this in here okay I can make it restore 40 Mana plus speed for 10 seconds regeneration so these must be the different things that I have unlocked eight Vault gold eight Vault diamonds so restores 40 Mana seems kind of cool I’m going to try we’re going to

Add the Mana to our vial oh okay okay changed the color of it too heal four hit points and restore 40 Mana neat I like that the color changes that’s really cool okay cool that’s one Quest done next up artifacts the goal for any hunter is to complete the infamous artifact puzzle

And to fight the legendary Herald artifacts are rarely found in completion crates after level 20 the chance of finding it higher the higher level your vault is when you complete it there are 25 unique artifacts to collect in order to gain access you need to collect them all the

Artifact Tome will display the puzzle above it and artifacts can be placed in the correct spot to complete the puzzle while hunting for artifacts you will most likely come across duplicates these can be dropped into fire in order to burn and to create an artifact fragment

Which can be used to craft a new artifact acquire an artifact tone what is that artifact toome oh black chromatic steel yucky that’s expensive do I have enough to do this um I don’t know black chromatic steel is very expensive isn’t it I don’t even

Think I can afford to make this I need perfect black Opals which I just don’t have okay well we can’t make that right now so we have to do some mining what’s next plunderer Pearl as you level up the vaults get more difficult as everything inside a vault scales this can sometimes

Lead to you falling behind with your gear progression which can make the Vault more difficult if you find yourself in this situation you can use a plunderer pearl this Pearl can be combined with a vault crystal in an anvil to make the Vault into a plunderer vault which removes all

Experience gain but increase the amount of Loot and Vault or slightly apply a plunder Pearl to a vault Crystal okay that sounds kind of cool I was reading about these a little bit and I think there is a bug right now where using this it um it messes with the the XP

Gain when you have the modifiers turned on for the vault loot game rule so because I’m using the the Plenty the two times Vault loot it might still get XP so I don’t know if I really want to use that that seems a little a little messed

Up to get XP as well as the increased loot in vors so maybe we’ll we’ll keep that one off for now until there’s a fix but let’s look at another one here the gods it’s time to get familiar with the gods okay Iona tenos valara wendar yeah

After level 40 you can find charms rarely inside living chests they cannot be crafted charms is your way to show your Affinity to a specific God while inside a vault they can be identified by Rolling them like gear and there are four different tiers of charms Noble distinguished Regal and Majestic the

Higher the tier the more Affinity they can have to their God charms of uses and cannot be unequipped or equipped during a vault a use charge is consumed every time you interact with a god alter inside a vault Affinity is important to understand for your next Quest so here

Is your first charm identify it and wear it proudly unidentified Noble charm found in living chest what are we going to get a noble wendar charm 11% wendar Affinity okay can you enchant these or anything I I didn’t I didn’t really pay attention where does that go then in this charm

Slot okay 11% wendar AFF Affinity God Alters will start to appear in vaults after level 40 okay that explains why we weren’t seeing any they’re they’re gayed now but we are level 40 so perfect timing you to challenge by the god completing the task will give you a

Favor strongly buffing you in the vault and if you’re lucky enough and show enough Affinity to the god you can also gain a reputation point with that God but beware failing the challenge will curse your Vault oh wow scary okay scary scary okay well I think we need to get

Geared up and run another Vault but I guess I’ll spend my expertise and stuff first um expertise I want to get fortuitous finesse I want extra legendary modifiers that just sounds good and then as for these three skill points I’m uh I’m going to pump them all into sorcery

Because I’m low on Mana regen right now and it’ll be nice to have extra when I’m at full health so we’re going to get this maxed out soon and then once we have this maxed out we can start looking into rebuilding so of this stuff getting

Rid of the javelin and Hunter maybe um and then looking at Smite and building for Ability power because that seems really really fun just before we hop in the next Vault I did do one or two bounties just sub submit ones and I got

A bit of extra XP got us leveled up to 42 here I put that point into sorcery but we also got enough knowledge to make three knowledge stars and with that I can get either belts or stack upgrading now I might be crazy but I think we’re

Going to take Stack Up upgrading next it’s going to be cost five but because I think right now we have lots of Stack space already in there with the the tier 2 ones there’s lots of room but I actually want to get belts I think

Because as we saw in that last Vault our double pouch was overflowing with gems and things so I just think we want to increase that space and have more so that we don’t have to worry about the Overflow so we’re going to upgrade that belt okay I need two double pouches to

Make that okay okay we got our belt okay and now can I load my settings wish could I wonder if there’s a way to delete these I want settings two there we go and we want the pickup to be match backpack contents okay perfect that is significantly more space

Maybe we’re going to D this new color too there we go new belt okay let’s run this Vault then and I think this Vault I want to focus on getting as many jewels tools as possible because our tools are on their way out and I would like to make some

New ones with the new tier so what about Bounty find four empty jars for an Echo um I don’t know how long it’ll be before we get a scavenger Vault I kind of want to leave this one until we decide to do it ah you know what let’s

Just try it because I mean this game gives me scavenger vaults all the time right and we got an Elixir Vault and I just cleared the chat log by accident here but it’s got so Soul surge which I think gives me extra Soul shards so interesting it is east

Facing 25 minutes to go um Elixir we can do that perfect this is good because it just means I get to loot whatever I want and is this a nether like a nether theme this must be a new theme don’t think I’ve seen this one before now I do

Have to remember to be at Max Health cuz that’s how my Mana gets refilled fast with sorcery we have to manage that Health properly wooden chests are pretty good so far ooh a dungeon here impossible nope I’m not running an impossible dungeon no way ornates oh look at all these living

Chests now that’s satisfying those are oh those are good for us right now good Elixir big awesome ho and ornate ooh Some player gems nice yeah oh this is a lot of guys I can handle it though I’m a pro I’m an expert oh I’m not an expert I’m good

We’re good we’re so good okay got to restore that Mana though get us up to full health good 10 minutes left and I think I’m doing pretty well so far it feels like a good Vault so oh I screwed up the dash that’s too bad what am I

Doing oh wow I’m trying to go too fast it’s not working for me what is that why can’t I go in this room oh there’s a ghost block that’s why this more stuff okay 5 minutes left I’m going to run back to the last room that I saw a pylon

And then I’m going to go north from there and we’ll we’ll be able to get out after that but I want to do a little bit more looting oh we got a noble charm sweet that reminds me I haven’t seen any blessings in this Vault yet or

Altars 2 minute 30 left getting kind of close but I think we can check this room out and then probably head out right after that is this a mining room um I do need black opal whoa okay we’ll mine and then leave lots of painite in this one

Only kind of got a couple things that were somewhat interesting and I played around with them a little bit or reforge some stuff to cuz I think I’m just going to swap to them for now so look at this we got this new helmet here it’s got

Soul bound it’s got some ability power and the ability power is kind of low but extra armor so it’s 17 armor which is nice more attack damage than what we have more item Rarity and cool down reduction I would have liked to get the Mana regen but that’s okay this is

Pretty good so we’ll swap to that we got this new chest plate too which it doesn’t super look like a I mean it’s it’s it’s better we we tried the item Rarity for one Vault we’ll swap it off that’s okay the legendary one we can get

Rid of it whatever we’ll get more armor we get ability power we get 5% % from this so that’s nice and then we’re going to swap off the shield finally and we’re going to a wand 20 ability power 6% increased ability power and then 17% increased area of effect I don’t know if

I have anything that really affects area of effect but if I get like a cloud or something on Armor I think that will work as well which is which is kind of cool looking at this right now I am wondering if it’s worth trying to reforge the implicits to get higher

Things and reading what some people said online and I think there’s a few different options we could kind of go for Ability power route so there is this Smite one where you could do Smite archon archon whatever it is where you just zap mobs that seems fun there’s

Also another one that seems very cool with this poison Nova or regular Nova where what you can do is you can use that ability and then where is it here in talents there’s something like nucleus or toxic reaction where if you kill a mob affected by poison it has a chance

Of just using the poison Nova again which is crazy because you could use your poison Nova chain those mobs kill the mobs and then it’ll just set off more poison novas and you can get up to 90% chance which is really really good so that seems super fun but I I don’t

Really know the first thing about designing a build around that I’m not very very uh technically Advanced oh so maybe you guys could give some suggestions for what you’d think would be cool to try with that and I know Fireball seems like a pretty fun one too
